This is the second yacht sold in Spring 2021 by the Dutch shipyard. Project Gemini’s construction was started as a speculative venture, the latest yacht in Heesen’s successful program to provide time-poor clients with shorter delivery times on a selection of superyachts built to the highest standards of design, engineering and Dutch quality.

By beginning the build with an optimized engineering and construction schedule before the client steps in, Heesen can undertake to deliver a superior product on a defined date. Depending on the stage at which the client joins the process, the yacht can be customized to suit his individual taste and lifestyle. With excellent organization and time management to back up its supremely professional workforce, and the reliability of the shipyard’s supply chain, Heesen is able to deliver its yachts on time and on budget – even in these challenging times.

With her Dutch pedigree, reduced delivery schedule, large internal volume, and excellent fuel efficiency thanks to her Fast Displacement Hull Form, Project Gemini immediately grabbed the attention of her new owners. Negotiations and a sales agreement were soon concluded.

Konstantin Kolpakov of Arcon Yachts comments: “We are delighted to work with Heesen on yet another exciting project. We have been impressed by the flexibility of the shipyard in accommodating the client’s requests, and have enjoyed working with Heesen’s new CCO, Friso Visser, and his experienced team.”

He added: “Heesen’s sales and marketing people provided us with excellent material to help us familiarize our client with this magnificent yacht. And despite the travel restrictions, they managed to arrange a visit for the buyer to see the yacht under construction. This was a crucial experience, as our client was able to appreciate in person the superb levels of organization and quality that this Dutch shipyard delivers.”

Project Gemini

Twelve guests will be accommodated in six staterooms, with the 82-square-metre owner’s apartment located forward on the main deck, spanning the full beam. Four guest cabins can be found on the lower deck, and there is a private VIP cabin on the bridge deck.

An elegant and distinctive interior scheme characterised by geometric shapes and concepts has been drafted for Project Gemini by Luca Dini Design and Architecture, the first time this renowned Italian studio has partnered with Heesen.

“We were glad that our proposed interiors for Gemini found such immediate favour with the client, so close to the delivery date – this doesn’t always happen with a speculative build!” says Luca Dini. “But we still had time to tailor the details to the client’s needs, especially with regard to the choice of freestanding furniture, fabrics and craftsmanship. The result is stunning. It was a pleasing outcome for everyone.”

SIXTH VIVACE 125’ SOLD – with ARCON

This new contract was developed with the collaboration and support of Broker Konstantin Kolpakov of ARCON Yachts.

Benetti Class Vivace 125’ is a composite construction yacht to be built at the Viareggio shipyard; it is a 38.10 metre by 8.23 metres semi-wide body with three decks plus sun deck. Stefano Righini has designed this yacht with a sporty exterior employing generous amounts of horizontal windows to accentuate the sleek lines; its hallmark is a large central design element at the sides enclosing the upper deck stair.

The interior layout is articulated in 4 suites for 8 guests and the owner’s apartments forward on the main deck, at full beam. The captain plus a crew of 6 is available to see to all the guest’s needs.

Vivace 125′ is equipped with D2P_Displacement Planing ®  hull with wave piercer and a unique pod propulsion system enableing the Vivace 125’ Fast Displacement series to reach higher speeds without engine strain, or to cruise in displacement mode at an economical speed with a much greater range nothwithstanding the limited draft

No doubt this innovative design coupled with the technical features of this semi-custom series is a break through into this market segment. Once again Benetti confirms to be ahead in terms of innovation and vision. One unit already delivered, and four units sold and under construction are the clearest confirmation of this exceptional success.

YN20067 Project Sparta construction update: hull turning

konstantin kolpakov arcon yachts

Heesen is delighted to report that the construction of their largest steel motoryacht, the 67-metre Project Sparta, continues to proceed on schedule. On April 29, the completed hull was turned right way up to allow engineering fit-out to begin.

Konstantin Kolpakov of Arcon Yachts said: “The combination of Heesen’s excellent Dutch quality with the beauty of the lines from Winch Design, and our own expertise, will deliver a magnificent result.”

With both her exterior and interior by Winch, Project Sparta is a wonderful example of how experienced clients in partnership with leading designers can work alongside Heesen’s 1,000-strong team of dedicated specialists to create a truly world-class custom yacht.

Sparta’s quietly assertive yet sporty profile incorporates a raised pilot-house, with an elegantly understated reverse sheer connecting a powerful bow and a stepped aft deck area with a 6.5-metre infinity pool. Indoor and outdoor spaces connect harmoniously and create a perfect haven for family life and relaxation.

“The turning of the hull marks a special moment in the construction of this exceptional project, and brings with it a great sense of pride and accomplishment to all involved,” said Jim Dixon, director of Yachts & Aviation at Winch. “It is always a pleasure to watch our designs turn into reality, and we look forward to following the next stage of her development in Heesen’s capable hands.”

With a huge internal volume of approximately 1,200 GT, Project Sparta is the world’s largest steel Fast Displacement Hull Form motoryacht currently in build. Given her plumb bow design, hull designers Van Oossanen and Heesen’s own naval architects researched numerous spray rail options to keep the deck dry in all conditions, with computational fluid dynamics simulations complemented by tank testing at the Wolfson Unit in Southampton. Powered by two MTU 12V4000 M65R diesel engines, Sparta will reach a top speed of 16 knots, with a transoceanic cruising range of 4,500 nautical miles at 12 knots.

Sparta’s hull was assembled at Talsma in Franeker, the Netherlands, a specialist yard, which has undertaken steel fabrication for Heesen since 2008 as the risk of chemical cross-contamination makes it technically inadvisable to weld both steel and aluminium on the same site. Like Heesen, Talsma operates at the highest levels of efficiency and professionalism, and as a loyal partner to the shipyard has been crucial to Heesen’s continuing success in long-range, steel-hulled yachts.

“We are excited to see that we are meeting another deadline, despite these challenging times,” added Richard Kaye of Arcon Yachts. “Our technical team is enjoying working with Heesen and their dedicated workforce. The relationship is one of mutual trust – we share our respective knowledge to ensure we will deliver to the client the best possible yacht.”

Project Sparta will be one of the superyacht stories of the year when she is delivered in 2023.

The world of superyachts is the world of ultimate luxury, total privacy and security, exquisite pleasures. That’s also a status symbol and a way of expressing your taste, the way of showing the style of your own unique life perception and philosophy of being. Travelling around the world through the most secret and secluded places where there is no access for ordinary people, where the whole bounty of nature meets you with a calm respect. Or visiting the world’s luxurious and busy marinas, with vivid social and culture life, famous parties, Michelin restaurants, world festivals and so ever – all depends on you. The only common thing about this: expensive motor yachts are a great investment in happiness.

No matter the size, motor yachts , superyachts and megayachts are considered to be nautical miracles combining together efficiency, functionality and beauty. You will find all the technical innovations and cutting-edge entertainments onboard of power yachts : from Jacuzzi, infinity swimming pool, spa/beauty center, private gym, large cinema theatre and audio system with terabytes of information, to sliding ceiling in VIP suite, or numerous water toys, such as Jet Skis, speedboats, helicopters or submersibles. And it’s only imagination that could limit all these features.

Available for sale or charter, superyachts and megayachts are used for private and professional cruises by celebrities, politicians, royal family’s representatives and tycoons.

There are hundreds of shipyards and various yacht models in the market and in order to make the best choice it is better to hire a specialist or a specialized brokerage company. Broker managers will help you to communicate with yacht dealers and shipyards during the new construction as well as control all technical surveys and yacht assessments while buying the pre-owned vessels.

The Owner of the vessel should also always remember about permanent operating costs of owning the superyacht which usually include fueling, technical maintenance, crew salaries and mooring fees. Traditionally it is estimated that average annual running costs gain about 10% of the initial purchase cost; however, there is no term of “avaerage” when you talk about superyachts and megayachts .

Arcon Yachts is an official dealer of Wim van der Valk yachts in Russia. This brand with a large production of steel and aluminium yachts is a great example of leading shipyards of the world. One of many that Arcon Yachts represent.
