Visiting Sri Lanka with friends we were told about Sail Lanka and to consider it as a trip… so we did and it was amazing. The views were amazing, the scenery was spectacular and blue whales made an appearance. The food was absolutely out of this world with your onboard chef, combined with fresh fish caught by the crew.. you get the point! The crew is generally friendly and welcoming, although I found that only the captain seemed willing to chat with us at times. This sometimes reflected on the service outside of meal times, in terms of provision of cold drinks, water or snacks. Which I really feel is missing a trick for the company, as well as guests in terms of satisfaction and service. All in all, I would highly, highly recommend! You can BYO alcohol for a small corkage charge too… just in case that’s important to anyone Bring plenty of high factor sunscreen and your own sea sickness meds etc

Anuradhapura was the capital of the Sinhalese kingdom. The kingdom flourished for over 1,000 years.In the 12th century, the Tamil kingdom of Jaffna was established in the north of the island. The Tamil kingdom frequently invaded the Sinhalese kingdom. In the 16th century, the Portuguese conquered the island. The Dutch later conquered the Portuguese colony in the 17th century.The British established their colony on the island in the 19th century. Sri Lanka was a British colony until 1948 when it gained independence.Since independence, Sri Lanka has been plagued by ethnic and political tensions. The island was devastated by a civil war that lasted for over 25 years.The civil war ended in 2009. Sri Lanka has been rebuilding since then and is now a popular tourist destination.

Do I need a skipper license to rent a boat in Sri Lanka?

Skipper License is not required for a bareboat charter in Sri Lanka.However, charter operators still want to see that you poses adequate skills and experience to operate the boat and keep your crew safe.Most likely you will be required to submit your sailing resume and get cleared by the base manager. Please allow up to a week for resume processing, and if you have any questions, please reach out to our booking specialists.

What is included in my Sri Lanka boat rental?

First and foremost - the boat, fuel, and water. Usually, charter operators want you to return the boat with the same level of fuel as you took it. So please budget some time at the end of your charter to stop by the fuel dock.In addition to boat, fuel and water, some charter operators also provide snorkeling gear, water toys (SUPs, Kayaks, etc), but those may require a separate payment and may need to be arranged in advance.Lastly, if you are booking a crewed or skippered yacht charter - you will get an experienced captain and/or a cook. Egypt and Sri Lanka join the R&A’s Women in Golf Charter

M adinaty Golf Club in Egypt and Victoria Golf Resort in Sri Lanka have joined Troon International facilities from the Middle East in signing the R&A’s Women in Golf Charter .

The charter is a global initiative aimed at increasing the number of women and girls who participate in golf and creating more opportunities for women to work in the golf industry.

DJ Flanders , Vice President Troon International, said: “We are thrilled that Victoria Golf Resort and Madinaty Golf Club have both signed The R&A’s Women in Golf Charter, demonstrating the facilities commitment to increasing the number of women and girls who participate in golf in Sri Lanka and Egypt.

“Their work to introduce local women and girls to the game of golf and engage them in the entire golf club experience through accessibility can make a positive impact on the future of the sport in Sri Lanka and Egypt to ensure that golf remains accessible and enjoyable for everyone.”
