Timeless and Elegant Fox Chapel Golf Club Wedding

This couple’s timeless, elegant, modern wedding at the Fox Chapel Golf Club in the suburbs of Pittsburgh was an absolute dream and we are so honored to have been a part of it. Our bride and groom envisioned a timeless and elegant wedding, which they achieved perfectly by choosing The Fox Chapel Golf Club as the backdrop for their big day. The chic, clean, light, bright venue strikes a perfect balance between feeling like an intimate, airy, romantic garden and also a luxurious, chic, elegant country club. Their photographer, Carbonell Photography , captured their light, bright, airy wedding vision perfectly as well.

Our favorite thing about this wedding was all the personal touches that were infused throughout the event that really showed who the bride and groom are as a couple and what’s important to them in their lives. They featured a framed photo of the bride’s late father on a chair in the front row of their ceremony, and she also carried a locket with a photo of her dad with her bouquet. And from taking bridal party photos with Miller Lite (their new last name is Miller!), to custom wiener dog cutout cookies from Bella Christie’s that were modeled after their cherished puppy, these two infused their sentimental, loving, spunky, outgoing personalities into their wedding in so many fun ways!

We had our work Christmas party here. They were super accomodating- we had to find a new venue at the list minute. They helped up set up and bring all the gifts in for our employees. The food was delicious especially the chicken. And the service was great. The bartender made great drinks. And we met nice people who were patrons there. Could not have been more happy

It had been quite a while since I've been here ever since I found a new job and no longer work in Blawnox. I have faint memories of enjoying their wings and happy hour specials. The view itself it's much, you get the river and the yachts which is nice. Their lunch menu is simple and cheap, but it hit the spot. I should've stuck to a beer as their tap soda was flat. Our waitress was attentive though and we had a pleasant meal on a hot summer day.

Great place for anything boat and yacht related. Mr Maxwell has a fantastic operation going here...from new and used watercraft, parts and service, docking and storage, clubhouse, facilities, pool, food, bar...this is the real deal. Best on the three rivers, bar none.

Stopped today to boat shop and talk about joining FCYC. Gentleman behind desk could have cared less. After checking out and being on this beautiful Sea Ray that was for sale alone, we asked him for information on renting a slip and joining the club. He politely told us the girl wasn't there we needed to talk to. We asked to leave a message for her to call us and was told it would be best if we tried calling after Wednesday. Lol. When walking out disappointed that our road trip was wasted and disgusted no one was eager to sell a boat I noticed brochures on the wall with information about renting a slip. So if you want information go to the wall. But if you show up with a dog, this man will happily spend time petting your dog and ignoring clients.

Brought my Mercury outboard jet to their shop a couple of weeks ago to have the shift cable replaced. I go to take the boat out yesterday for the first time since being in the shop and the remote won't shift out of neutral into forward at all. There is absolutely no way their technician tested the shifter. My buddy and I spent an hour at the ramp adjusting the cable like Fox Chapel should have before calling it done. I'm out $300 and an hour of my time. I called them today to let them know of the mistake and Mike Burnside acted as if it didn't bother him one bit. Won't be going back to these crooks and will be sure to let my other boating friends know about them.

Feel like you are on vacation! On the water with live bands, indoor and outdoor bars and plenty of seating and sunning! Jules was our excellent server and food is good bar food. Highly recommend!

Newer boater to the area-stopped into the store on land-very impressed with the staff and their help and knowledge in products and welcoming me to the area. Very kind.

Do not buy a used boat from this marina. This place is a hoax and will sell u anything with no standard of testing etc... I purchased a boat recently and it required 15k worth of service to be sea worthy. They patched it up for my boat test and made it run and sound good. meanwhile the boat had serious problems with it and required a great deal of work. Im disgusted with how i have been treated by this marina and i plan to sue them since they have told me that they have no intention of helping me pay for the major problems with the vessel.

If you are thinking of getting food at the Baja Cafe at the Fox Chapel Yacht Club, DON'T. I ordered a Cuban pannini and asked if the bun would be "pressed". When I got it, the bun was pressed, but it looked vaguely familiar. When I picked it up, I realized it was a "pressed" hot dog bun, not pannini. The fries were right out of the freezer. And Italian friend, also present, ordered penne pasta with marinara. She ate about one quarter of it, and would not take the remainder home with her. She said it tasted like tomato soup on soggy noodles. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else.

Terrible maintenance department! They did not get permission to do the work, then charged a ridiculous amount, and the boat did not work! Reviewing the parts charging they double charged us for several parts, then after they claimed to have fixed it - we found eve more parts double charged. After a second trip back the boat still didn't work. Stay away from the service department!

Stunning & enchanting wedding at fox chapel golf club: ali & phil.

Do me a favor and hold onto to your socks, because they’re about to be knocked off.  Nothing – and I mean NOTHING – has wowed me as much as this enchanting wedding has.  It’s romantic, breathtaking, chic, and lavish all at the same time.  Ali and Phil’s September day took place at the Fox Chapel Golf Club , which GreenSinner transformed into a whimsical, wonderful greenery-filled fairyland.  Fresh foliage was the main theme of the day, whose color palette centered around ivory, cream, gray, and neutral tones.  Luscious table runners, an abundance of candlelight, sheer brocade overlay linens, lots of gold detailing, and greenery dripping from just about every surface made this reception space worthy of awards.  And if you think this bride and her all-in-white bridesmaids look simply ravishing, it’s because Ali’s mom is the owner of Bridal Beginning , THE Pittsburgh destination for wedding day fashion.  Styled and planned by Shayla Hawkins Events and beautifully captured by Dawn Derbyshire Photography and Traveling Heart Productions , Ali and Phil’s wedding is OUT OF THIS WORLD.   Take a look and see just what I mean.

From the bride…

Tell me about yourselves!  When and how did you meet?  How long have you been together?  How did you get engaged?  All the juicy details!

Phil and I met six years ago in the doctor of physical therapy graduate program at the University of Dayton.  We were cadaver partners in the anatomy lab!  We did a long distance relationship for 2.5 years.  He proposed the weekend I decided to move back to Pittsburgh!  I drive to his apartment from Ohio and the house looked empty.  He had flowers and candles everywhere and a letter for me to read, ending with a note that I’d find him upstairs.  When I went up, he was in a suit down on one knee!

Describe the wedding and what inspired it.  What was unique about it?

Our wedding look was very romantic and classic.  The colors were ivory, cream, and gray, with all warm, neutral tones and all green and white flowers.  My inspiration was to create a classic enchanted evening with a lot of greenery.  GreenSinner made it particularly unique by going above and beyond with the ambience they created and all the candlelight!

What was your favorite moment of the day?

Our first look!  It was so romantic and intimate and just a special moment between the two of us!

Is there any advice you would give to other couples planning their big day?

Use Shayla Hawkins Events!  They made my fairytale wedding come true.  My dream team of vendors made the day seem flawless.  Also, I couldn’t have done it without my mom and her staff at Bridal Beginning for making me and my girls look like magical princesses!  Remember to enjoy your day together and spend time together!!

Abby and Steve’s Sleek Modern Wedding at Fox Chapel Country Club

From The Photographer: Abby and Steve got married on a warm spring day in Pittsburgh. The pair started out their day at the Fox Chapel Golf Club, a gorgeous venue which also provides a perfect “getting ready” location. The club also provided the perfect backdrop for Abby’s bridal details. The couple’s chic vision for their day fit the venue beautifully, with lots of greenery and soft whites, accented by the bright, airiness of the space.

After getting ready at the club, the pair headed to the church for their nuptials. The Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church, just down the road from the club, was a perfect choice for the ceremony, keeping with the light drenched, classic feel of the day.

Once the newlyweds finally tied the knot it was time to head back to the club for portraits and dancing the night away. Thanks to a speedy golf cart and some beautiful weather, the couple was able to utilize the ground of the club for all of their portraits, incorporating both the architecture of the building and woodsy spaces along the golf course. It paired perfectly with their greenery filled reception, especially the stunning champagne tower display! Once the pair were announced to the reception, they popped the champagne, danced all night, and wrapped their evening by running off to their hotel through a tunnel of sparklers!

Family Membership

Consists of a family living in the same household with children under the age of 22. A maximum of 2 adults and 4 children are allowed. No membership refunds

Couple Membership

Consists of 2 people living in the same household. No membership refunds

Individual Membership

Consists of only 1 person. No membership refunds
