Destiny 2 Ghost Shell Upgrade Guide: Beyond Light Changes

new ghost shell destiny 2

Destiny 2’s Beyond Light expansion has arrived and with it comes a ton of new changes and additions. One such area of the game that has received major facelifts are ghosts. Beyond Light has added a lot of new functionality to our little light helpers. In this guide we’ll go over the changes to Ghosts in Beyond Light and what you should/can upgrade .

Upgrading Ghost Shell in Destiny 2

As of Beyond Light, your Ghost Shell can be upgraded and eventually masterworked now in Destiny 2 all the way up to level 10.

You will need to spend Legendary Shards, Glimmer and eventually Enhancement Cores, but you’ll never need Enhancement Prisms or Ascendant Shards thankfully.

Masterworking your Ghost Shell will unlock a final alternative mod socket for Activities. Let’s go over what kind of upgrades you can now put on your Ghost.

New Ghost Mods

You now have four different possible mod sockets to put upgrades & perks into your Ghost in Destiny 2. Below you can see what they are. Note that instant Sparrow summon is now intrinsic on all Sparrows, so no need to worry about looking for that popular perk.

  • Activity (Ghost must be Masterworked)

Experience mods will increase your experience gains to varying degrees depending on the amount of energy you want to use (this concept applies to all of the ghost upgrade mods.

Tracking will help you find caches and planetary materials. Economic will give you ways to either find more Glimmer, Telemetry Data, or loot and materials from doing specific tasks. Finally, Activity will give a chance to obtain additional planetary materials from completing (and winning) Strikes, or Crucible and Gambit matches.

The answer to which is best is dependent on your preferences and needs. Personally, I want to blow through the season pass ranks as quickly as possible, so I maxed out the possible XP gain for five energy, and Glimmer as well for five energy so I can visit Spider as little as possible.

Then for my last slot, I added a 20-meter cache detection so I at least have some level of detection while exploring planets.

That’s everything we got for the new upgrade changes to Ghosts in Destiny 2: Beyond Light and future seasons. Hopefully this was helpful. For more tips, head over to our Beyond Light wiki .

Destiny 2: Beyond Light - Here’s How The New Ghost Shell Mods Work

Ghost Shells have been reworked entirely in Destiny 2: Beyond Light. Here’s how the new mods work.

For the longest time, Guardians in Destiny 2 would basically use Ghost Shells that had either the Guiding Light, Treasure Hunter, or Speed Demon perks. All other Ghosts were essentially useless in comparison. Why would you ever deny yourself a 10% boost to XP for everything you do in an RPG?

But this meant that every Guardian mostly used the same Shells, making them ubiquitous rather than a unique expression of character. It also meant that Bungie wasn’t selling new Ghosts in the Eververse if they didn’t have those three perks. Clearly, the system was flawed for both the players and the developers.

Enter Beyond Light . Now, Ghost perks have all been turned into mods that you can slot on whatever Ghost Shell you prefer. This means you get both the perks you want and the Ghost Shell you want for the best of both worlds.

Here’s how you can mod up your favorite Ghost and how we recommend you take advantage of this new system.

Masterworking Your Ghost

The first thing you'll want to do is Masterwork your Ghost. Since all Ghost Shells are the same, you can literally just pick the one you think is the prettiest. That's "your" Ghost now.

Lucky for Guardians, Bungie made Masterworking your Ghost pretty easy. All you need is 30 Legendary Shards, 7 Enhancement Cores, and 10,000 Glimmer. That might sound like a lot to new players, and if you're tight on resources, just upgrade your Ghost as much as you can. Just like your armor, the more you upgrade your Ghost, the more energy you have to play with in terms of mods.

Here's how much you need to upgrade your Ghost to each tier:

1 to 2 - 300 Glimmer, 1 Legendary Shard

2 to 3 - 500 Glimmer, 2 Legendary Shards

3 to 4 - 700 Glimmer, 2 Legendary Shards

4 to 5 - 900 Glimmer, 3 Legendary Shards

5 to 6 - 1,100 Glimmer, 3 Legendary Shards

6 to 7 - 1,300 Glimmer, 4 Legendary Shards, 1 Enhancement Core

7 to 8 - 1,500 Glimmer, 4 Legendary Shards, 1 Enhancement Core

8 to 9 - 1,700 Glimmer, 5 Legendary Shards, 2 Enhancement Cores

9 to 10 - 2,000 Glimmer, 6 Legendary Shards, 3 Enhancement Cores

The Four New Mod Slots

Each Ghost now has four mod slots. The first three are available throughout the Masterworking process, while the final fourth slot is only available after reaching tier 10 and your Ghost is fully Masterworked.

Slot one has mods for XP and XP only. You can give yourself a boost to XP gains from 2 to 12% with an energy cost ranging from 1 to 6. Most are available right away, but Blinding Light's 12% buff must be found randomly in a world drop before you can slot it. It's also only available for the current season and will have to be found again in future seasons.

The second slot is the Tracking Mod Slot. You'll be able to slot mods that detect hidden caches and resources on an energy scale from 1 to 5. The Combo Detector functions similarly to the previous Treasure Hunter in that it lets you detect both resources and caches up to 40m away at the cost of 5 energy. The Wombo Detector costs 6 energy but lets you see both caches and resources out to 50m, although just like Blinding Light, it breaks at the end of the season.

A Ghost's third slot is the Economic Mod Slot. Here you'll be able to boost your Glimmer gains, get telemetry data for Banshee, and give yourself a few extra destination resources at the end of strikes. Public Defender can also be found here for 5 energy and it will give you the same boost to Glimmer and resources from Public Events. If you're tight on Glimmer, this might earn a slotted mod, but of the three slots so far, this one is the least important.

RELATED: Destiny 2 Beyond Light: Legend/Master Lost Sectors And Exotic Armor Guide

And finally, we arrive at the fourth and final Activity Mod Slot. This only becomes available after fully Masterworking your Ghost, but once you have, you can get Enhancement Cores, Prisms, Upgrade Modules, destination materials, and a chance for Legendary Gear at the end of playlist activities.

Lesser Core Harvest provides a chance at getting Enhancement Cores at the end of a Crucible match, Gambit match, or Vanguard Strike/Nightfall. It costs 4 energy, but for six energy you can slot a Greater Core Harvest mod for a chance at an Enhancement Prism. The Prosperity Mod is also a great way to get more loot from playlist activities by getting extra Legendary drops.

How To Best Use Your Ghosts

For Destiny veterans with plenty of Masterworking materials, I recommend you Masterwork four Ghosts: one for Strikes, one for Crucible, one for Gambit, and one for general open-world activities. Always have some sort of XP mod slotted in all four Ghosts, while each specific Ghost will have different mods depending on what you want.

I find it best to include the Combo Detector in the open-world activities so that you can easily grab caches and resources and keep a constant stream of Glimmer coming in. For the playlist activities, you can slot the Prosperity mod for extra Legendary Gear (which is especially useful if you’re still grinding your way to the soft Power cap of 1200), while those looking to recoup their Masterworking costs can slot in the Core Harvest mods.

Just remember to swap out your Ghost depending on which activity you’re doing to make sure you maximize your rewards.

More New Loot Is Coming To Destiny 2's Season Of The Chosen, Including Returning Exotic Catalysts

In its final weekly blog post of the season, Bungie detailed new guns and armor you can earn from Nightfall: The Ordeal and the Trials of Osiris, plus more changes.

By Phil Hornshaw on February 8, 2021 at 10:13AM PST

The Season of the Chosen , Destiny 2 's next content drop, is bringing a lot of changes and rewards to the game--including revamped loot on the Moon and in the Dreaming City , as well as the return of Umbral Engrams . There will also be more incentives to jump into high-level activities, with new loot available in the Trials of Osiris player-vs.-player event and in the player-vs.-environment activity Nightfall: The Ordeal. The new season kicks off on February 9.

Bungie outlined the additional loot rewards in its last This Week at Bungie blog post of the Season of the Hunt. It details the new armor for the Trials of Osiris that Bungie teased on Twitter, while providing some new details. In addition to the new armor, there are three new weapons players can earn in Trials: a pulse rifle, a sword, and a hand cannon.

The Trials of Osiris is getting new guns and armor in the Season of the Chosen.

In addition to that, Trials will offer new cosmetic rewards for players to earn, although they'll be tougher to come by. These include a Trials-themed Ghost shell, sparrow, and ship, the latter two of which sound like they'll only be available if you earn a "Flawless" run in the PvP event. That requires you and your team to win seven straight matches without losing any. Go Flawless and you'll have a chance to earn the ship or sparrow in addition to your usual rewards of armor and "Adept" versions of Trials weapons, which feature enhanced stats. Every time you go Flawless, your chances of earning the sparrow and ship increase.

Trials will also offer new cosmetic items you can earn by playing in the weekend event.

The Ghost shell will be a little easier to come by. Trials dishes out loot rewards at three, five, and seven wins (even if you're not Flawless), and each of these drops provides a chance at the shell. So even if you're not a PvP god in Destiny 2, you can still potentially earn some cool new stuff if you take part.

For players who prefer the PvE side, Bungie announced it's bringing three weapons back from Destiny 1 to work as rewards for playing Nightfall: The Ordeal, Destiny 2's high-level Strike playlist. Those guns are The Swarm, a machine gun; Palindrome, a hand cannon; and Shadow Price, an auto rifle. The weapons have a chance to drop in any Nightfall: The Ordeal activity, but the tougher the difficulty and the higher the medal you earn in the activity, the better your chances.

Some Destiny 1 favorites will be rewards you can earn from playing Nightfall: The Ordeal in the new season.

Bungie also detailed this season's new Ritual weapon, which players can earn by completing a quest and playing Destiny 2's "ritual activities": Strikes, Crucible matches, and Gambit matches. The weapon is a breech-loading grenade launcher called Salvager’s Salvo.

You'll have to put in some work to take home Salvager's Salvo, but you can do it across any of the three main repeatable activities in Destiny 2--Strikes, the Crucible, and Gambit.

Finally, Destiny 2 will see several Exotic catalysts--special quests that power up some of the game's best guns--come out of the "content vault" next season. Players could no longer earn these catalysts starting with Beyond Light because the content where they were found was removed from the game, but Bungie is making them available again in the Season of the Chosen.

Here's the list of Exotic catalysts coming back:

  • Izanagi's Burden
  • Sleeper Simulant
  • The Huckleberry
  • Worldline Zero
  • Polaris Lance
  • Legend of Acrius
  • Skyburner's Oath

Check out the rest of the details on this week's TWAB . Destiny 2's Season of the Chosen kicks off with the weekly reset on February 9.

Ghosts are small, sapient machines created by the Traveler shortly after the Collapse . Their sole purpose is to locate and resurrect deceased individuals capable of wielding the Light as Guardians , and to support their Guardian charge in combat.

Overview [ edit ]

Ghosts are floating machine entities slightly larger than a human hand. They consist of a spherical core with a single glowing "eye", which is surrounded by a "shell" of several pieces that can separate and rotate freely around the central sphere. The default Ghost shell consists of eight roughly tetrahedral segments colored white with orange highlights, but there is a huge diversity of shells available that Ghosts can adopt for cosmetic purposes.

Every Ghost has a unique personality and identity, though not necessarily a name. This personality may be intended to complement that of the Chosen they're meant to eventually revive, [1] and often they have a name coined by their Chosen, [2] whilst others may take names they are given by others.

When a Ghost revives their Chosen, they are bonded together from that point forward. A "neural symbiosis" begins between them. Every Ghost has one specific person they are meant to revive. For some, their Chosen is a sort of "soul mate" and they know instinctively when the right remains have been found; [3] for others, they simply search until they find someone they feel is worthy of the Light or has a "spark". [4] [5] Many Ghosts have spent the time since the Collapse searching fruitlessly for their Chosen. In the worst case, their Chosen's corpse may be irretrievably destroyed before they could be revived, leaving the Ghost's quest eternally unfinished. [6]

Some Ghosts lose hope in ever finding their Chosen; these usually find some other way to make themselves useful, such as joining the Vanguard 's covert Spectral Network , where they act as scouts and spies for the Vanguard. Ghosts that never find their Chosen may be referred to as "unconnected" or "unpartnered". [7]

On revival, the Ghost's Chosen becomes a Light-bearing Guardian. Once a Ghost chooses, they can revive no one else. [8] It is possible for a Ghost to bond to someone other than their original Chosen, as with Shin Malphur , though that case required special circumstances.

Destiny 2 reveals that Ghosts enter a temporary catatonic state when the Light is cut off from them. Much like their Guardians, the Lightless Ghosts are severely weakened and damaged. Worse, should the Guardians be killed, then they will be unable to resurrect them. Fortunately, at least one Guardian was able to regain their Light from a broken shard of the Traveler in the European Dead Zone .

Function [ edit ]

For a Guardian, their Ghost serves as a companion, scout, librarian, and mechanic, waking ancient machinery and cracking ancient codes. [9] Ghosts can support Guardians by performing certain actions such as illuminating darkened areas, repairing technology from the Golden Age , hacking into machines, informing Guardians of incoming hostile threats, [10] calculating complex enemy behaviors, determine combat outcomes, mapping numerous projectiles and their myriad of trajectories, [11] and providing communications. [12] Most importantly, Ghosts may revive Guardians from death. As long as the Ghost survives, and barring special circumstances, Guardians are effectively immortal and may be resurrected fully intact from any death without consequences. The death does not have to be immediate, nor do they have to be revived in the same place they died. [13] Ghosts may also repair any injury a Guardian suffers in a matter of seconds, though can sometimes have such difficulty repairing Exo Guardians that it is easier to resurrect from scratch. [14]

Ghosts have no special control over their Guardians' actions, other than talking to them, or potentially withholding the resurrection of a Guardian who becomes dangerously erratic or monstrous. [15] [16]

Hive Ghosts [ edit ]

Although Ghosts have been associated with human Risen for most of their history, it has recently been revealed that there is nothing fundamentally preventing them from choosing non-human Lightbearers; a subset of Ghosts have chosen Hive partners, beginning with Immaru who resurrected Savathûn, the Witch Queen . These Hive Ghosts would become part of the Witch Queen's Lucent Brood , with Fynch , a renegade amongst them, stated that Savathûn and Immaru tricked a number of Guardian-less Ghosts to join them, claiming that the Hive were more deserving of the Light than humanity and would give the Hive Ghosts purpose. However, while human Risen often treat their Ghosts as friends and companions, the Hive Lightbearers are less generous in their treatment of the Hive Ghosts, with most treating them with contempt, suspicion and hostility. Immaru and Savathûn are the only known exception to this, as they treat each other as equals.

Due to the integral role the Hive Ghosts have to the Lucent Brood, the Guardians would have little choice but to target the Hive Ghosts to defeat the Hive Lightbearers to prevent them from rising again. This would be the first time Guardians would have to target Ghosts since the age of the Warlords . The Guardian's Ghost, would view the Hive Ghosts as traitors to humanity and the Light, unable to understand the reasons in their choice of siding with the Hive.

History [ edit ]

After the Collapse, the wounded Traveler deliberately shed many pieces of itself. These pieces understood intuitively that they had a mission to raise a companion from the dead, their Chosen, and created mechanical shells for themselves. [17] As far as the Guardians know, no new Ghosts are currently being made; each one lost is irreplaceable. [9] It is unclear whether all Ghosts were made at once, or over a period of time; Immaru is stated to be among the oldest of the Ghosts, suggesting the latter. Despite their origin as pieces of the Traveler, Ghosts do not possess any special insight into the nature of the Traveler, or into other matters pertaining to the Light and Darkness .

An unknown number of Ghosts continue to search for their Guardians; there are recorded instances of Guardians being revived after the conclusion of the Red War . [18]

Gameplay [ edit ]

Ghosts serve the important function of a narrative device, acting as a vehicle for important tasks such as informing players of new objectives, and also serve as a revive/respawn marker when a player's character dies during cooperative play. [10] Ghosts notify players when another player/Guardian has left the area or is revived. A Ghost can assist to more quickly revive another fallen player by holding the X button on the Xbox 360/One, the square button on the PlayStation 3/4, or the E key on PC. This can only be done in close proximity to a fallen player's death location, marked by their Ghost. On occasion, while on missions, certain objects must be scanned either to progress the narrative or provide additional context to the Guardian, which is visually represented as the Ghost flying out and scanning the object of interest. For example, scanning a dead Cabal on Phobos will have Ghost describe what legion it's from.

Ghost Shells [ edit ]

For more information, see Ghost shells .

Ghost shells change the appearance of Ghosts.

In Destiny's The Taken King expansion, defensive boosts and additional effects were added to Ghost shells. Rare shells had a single perk, while legendary shells had several to choose from. Shells could be purchased from The Speaker , the Vanguards , or Lord Shaxx . [19] As of Rise of Iron , Ghost shells marked with New Monarchy , Dead Orbit , or Future War Cult colors and symbols could be bought from faction representives.

With the release of Destiny 2 , Ghost shells provided fixed bonuses, such as extra experience gains, or built-in trackers for planetary resources. As of the Beyond Light expansion release, all Ghost shells became purely cosmetic, with four mod slots allowing customization of what bonuses a Ghost could provide, dependent on the upgrade level of the Ghost.

Known Ghosts [ edit ]

Ghosts without listed Lightbearers are not known to have one, either stated outright or simply never mentioned.

Notable Quotes [ edit ]

  • "This is some great data here. I wonder if Ikora gives hugs to Ghosts. Heheh... anyways, nice work." [20]
  • "Don't do that." —says this after the Guardian jokingly calls him "Little Light".
  • "Every Ghost is born knowing that we have to find our Guardian. We don't know what they look like. Not on the outside, anyway. On the inside, I'd always known who you were. And that together, we could be something more. When you think about everything we've seen, everything we've done, I feel like... I made the right choice. [...] Thanks - you know - for being my Guardian." —at the end of A Khvostov Rising Mission
  • "You know it's starting to concern me how seldom you talk. We've been through a lot together, the neural symbiosis is pretty far progressed, but you'd be surprised how little I understand what you're thinking." [21]
  • "I don't think I ever told you this, but Saint-14 was one of the first Guardians I ever met, even before I found you. I always hoped you would turn out like him. I wasn't disappointed. You were a good friend Saint. Goodbye." —at the end of the Not Even the Darkness Mercury World Quest [22]
  • "I don't have a mouth." —to The Drifter (character) during the mission variant of The Corrupted strike

Trivia [ edit ]

  • Ghosts were sometimes called "Dinklebots" by players, as a nod to Peter Dinklage , [23] who provided their voice in the game. As of The Taken King , Nolan North replaced Dinklage as Ghost's voice actor and redubbed lines from the original Destiny game. [24] Players have started to call this new Ghost "Nolandroid", though Nolan North himself prefers "Nolanbot". [25]
  • It was indicated pre-release that players need certain equipment before having access to a Ghost. [26] This is currently not the case, as the Ghost is present with the player from the start of the game in current builds (having revived them). [27]
  • Holding out a Ghost in some sections of the Moon opens doors. However, they are pitch black inside.
  • Ghosts may be deactivated and revived. [28]
  • The Ghost's saying "We always visit such cheerful places" is a possible reference to Cortana 's line in Halo 2 on the level Delta Halo , saying: "We always visit such nice places".
  • Dead Ghosts can be found in the game world which, upon revival, unlock new Grimoire cards.
  • According to an advertisement for Destiny , Ghosts existed during the Golden Age . [29] This is likely an error as all other sources have stated that Ghosts were created by the Traveler after the Golden Age.
  • The Ghost was depicted as taking part in the Ice Bucket Challenge in a short video by Bungie , which donated to the campaign. [30]
  • While dead Ghosts are considered to be common, a few sources suggest that Ghosts are virtually indestructible , requiring special means (usually from a paracausal source; a shotgun blast from a guardian, a longbow shot from an Awoken, or a darkness-empowered devourer bullet) to permanently destroy them .
  • In the Destiny 2 Dance Trailer a ghost is seen playing music suggesting that they were actually used as music boxes*

Destiny 2: 10 Rarest Ghost Shells

Here are some of the rarest Ghost Shells in Destiny 2 that players might struggle to obtain, or can no longer get.

There is perhaps nothing more integral and essential to a Guardian than their Ghost. In Destiny 2 , the Ghost is what gives Guardians their Light, their immortality, and strength. Due to the bond between Guardians and Ghosts in Destiny 2 , it’s safe to say that they would want their “little light” to have a way of expressing themselves, which is exactly why they can find some of the best Ghost Shells in Destiny 2 to live in like a nice new coat.

RELATED: Best Destiny Villains, Ranked

Guardians always use their Ghosts, whether it’s conversing, checking their bounties, or hacking open an infinite amount of doors. Yet, despite the importance of the Ghost, there are some of the rarest Ghost Shells in Destiny 2 that players might not be able to obtain anymore, either through vaulted content or a difficulty scale.

10 Contender’s Shell

Although there is nothing inherently special about the Contender’s Shell in its design, for it looks like a Ghost Shell trapped in a car's airbag, it’s still a rather rare item that players simply cannot obtain anymore. The Contender’s Shell is locked, vaulted away, and sunset until Bungie decides to allow it to see its time in the sun once more.

To get the Contender’s Shell, players needed to complete the Leviathan Raid. This random loot drop would see players obtain this special Ghost Shell, but since there is no way to access any of the raids on the Leviathan , it’s safe to say that this will remain a rare Ghost Shell, at least for now.

9 Guardian Games Shell

Every year, Commander Zavala initiates the opening of the Guardian Games, a friendly competition between the three Guardian classes, Warlocks, Titans, and Hunters. In every Guardian Games, each class will fight through PvE or PvP content to bank medallions and make their team the winner for the entire year. To better represent each Guardian class, the Vanguard issued the Guardian Games Ghost Shell.

Each Guardian could obtain a Ghost Shell that had a red lion for Titans, a blue snake for Hunters, and a yellow bird for Warlocks. What makes these Shells rare is that players need to be active during the Guardian Games, which comes once a year, and perhaps now will be celebrated by Eliksni refuges.

8 Vantastic Shell

One of the silliest Ghost Shells in Destiny 2 , the Vantastic Shell provides the adorable Ghost with a car to drive around in. This Shell is great for those who enjoy a wood paneling car, and it was part of a celebration of Bungie’s 30th Anniversary, which saw players face off against Xur and the cosmic Star Horse’s oddities in the Dares of Eternity.

RELATED: Destiny 2: Strongest Raid Bosses, Ranked In Terms of Lore

However, the Vantastic Shell remained in the Eververse store, and despite its introduction in Season 15, it has yet to return, perhaps remaining forever trapped within this season as a 30th Anniversary celebration, meaning players might not ever get their hands on this Ghost that hopefully has a driving license.

7 Empathic Shell

Another rare ghost Shell in Destiny 2 is the Empathic Shell. This adoring Shell features an inflated balloon in the shape of a heart, with even the eye of the Ghost changing to that of a red heart rather than its usual blue eye. This Ghost Shell goes to a good cause in real life, as purchasing this Shell will benefit the iPads for Kids program.

The reason this Ghost Shell may be rare is due to the price tag attached to it. The price of the Ghost Shell goes to a great cause, but some players may not be able to afford the donation, thus leaving this beautiful Exotic Ghost in the hands of players that can give.

6 Imperious Sun Shell

The Imperious Sun Shell is rare for several reasons, but it should be considered a sought-after prize due to the lore implications within. For this Ghost Shell, it is the first time players get to see the Traveler speak. The Traveler speaks to Rhulk through this Ghost Shell thanks to a lore tab, and it may disappoint players to know that they can only read this interaction rather than hear it for themselves.

However, to obtain the Imperious Sun Shell, players need to unlock all Vow of the Disciple lore books, which can only be done from within the Raid, and alongside other Guardians. It may be hard to find a team to complete this secret challenge in Destiny 2 , but it’s worth the visual prize.

5 Armory Forged Shell

The Black Armory was a strange time for Destiny 2 players. Content seemed to be slowly appearing, and the mysteries of the Black Armory would unravel in the hands of players . One such reward for this set of missions was the Armory Forged Shell, which could be obtained by completing the Quest, Niobe’s Torment.

RELATED: Destiny 2: Best Female Characters, Ranked

This Exotic Ghost Shell is rather interesting for its sharp design, and its branding of creation from the Black Armory. It’s a neat Ghost Shell that not many players will have, as it is part of the Destiny Content Vault that can no longer be accessed, with no way of knowing if it will ever see the sun again.

4 Knight’s Peace Shell

Trials of the Nine later rebranded back to Trials of Osiris, is of extreme difficulty. 4 Guardians would battle it out against 4 more Guardians to claim who is the top team. Players had to give it their all, and upon going Flawless, they would be gifted with unimaginable rewards in terms of power and exclusivity, as there was no other way to obtain Flawless loot.

One such reward came from a Flawless win within the Warmind DLC, in which players would receive the Knight’s Peace Shell. This unique Ghost Shell is unlike the rest, as it seems more exposed, featuring the core of the Ghost outside of its shell. It’s a great design, and rare to see due to the time it came out, and the difficulty of obtaining it.

3 Sagira’s Shell

Sagira, the Ghost to Osiris. Sagira and Osiris traveled across time itself together for decades, until her fateful demise. Before this tragedy, players could obtain Sagira’s Shell to replicate the fan-favorite Ghost Shell, and her famous Warlock Guardian by completing all of Brother Vance’s ranks in the Curse of Osiris expansion.

Once again, this is yet another Ghost Shell that has fallen to the calamity of Bungie vaulting content, and as such, Sagira’s Shell remains lost in the sands of time, waiting for Bungie to unleash the content vault so players can honor the now fallen Ghost with her Shell.

2 Hareball Shell

Completing a Dungeon is no small task, and players will need to head into the unknown of these puzzling and dangerous encounters if they are to reap the rewards available to them. However, if players want to get their hands on the adorable Hareball Shell, which will make the Ghost look like that of a rabbit, then they fight with their hands.

Players will need to complete the Prophecy dungeon solo to claim this Shell. Luckily, it does not have to be a solo flawless , and players will simply need to complete it without a Fireteam to obtain this shell. It can be difficult, so remain patient, and the Hareball Shell will belong to those who want it most.

1 Last City Shell (Damaged)

The Last City Shell (Damaged) is perhaps the most unique Shell. It’s a common rarity Ghost Shell, but by no means does that mean everyone has it. The specialty of this Ghost Shell comes from the fact that it cowers and struggles to remain afloat. Its beaten design comes from the damages obtained during the Red War.

It was never hard to obtain the Last City Shell (Damaged), as all players had to do was complete the first mission during the Red War campaign. This iconic Ghost Shell would remain in the inventory of the player, and they could, and still can, equip it at any time. What makes it a rare Ghost Shell is how many players would not have played through the Red War expansion, thus leaving the Last City Shell (Damaged) in the hands of true veterans.

Destiny 2 is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
