Why one of my favorite laptops still struggles against the MacBook Pro

Mark Coppock

HP just released an updated version of its premier consumer laptop, the excellent Spectre x360 14 , one of the best 2-in-1s you can buy. It’s well-made, offers a ton of flexibility, and is one of my favorite laptops I’ve reviewed recently.

Specs and configurations

Performance, display and audio, portability, both are excellent laptops, and it comes down to budget and workflow.

But it’s going up against the Apple MacBook Pro 14 , which sits alongside the HP on our list of best laptops . When it comes to laptops that are both portable and powerful, though, the Spectre x360 still falls behind the MacBook Pro in some important ways.

  • Best Apple deals: Save on AirPods, Apple Watch, iPad, MacBook
  • Have the M3 MacBook Pros made the Mac Studio irrelevant?
  • This is one of my favorite Windows laptops. But can it beat the MacBook Air?

We don’t have complete pricing yet on the Spectre x360 14, but so far, we know that it starts at $1,650 for an Intel Core Ultra 5 125H, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD. With a Core Ultra 7 155H, 32GB of RAM, and a 2TB SSD, the Spectre costs $1,970.

The MacBook Pro 14 starts at a bit less — $1,599 for a base M3 and 512GB of storage, but only 8GB of RAM. Apple charges $200 to get to 16GB of RAM, making it $150 more than a similar configuration of the Spectre x360 14.

You can get a MacBook Pro 14 with an M3 Pro 11/14, 18GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD for $1,999, which will provide better performance than the high-end Spectre. Fully configured with an M3 Max 16/40, 128GB of RAM, and an 8TB SSD, the MacBook costs a whopping $6,899.

The Spectre x360 14 is a redesign of the Spectre x360 13.5, upping the display size by half an inch and smoothing the edges. It retains the notches cut into the bottom of the display and the rear chassis, which house a Thunderbolt 4 port and the 3.5mm audio jack. It’s a more elegant and streamlined design, available in Nightfall, Black, Slate Blue, or Sahara Silver — all of which make it more attractive than its predecessor.

The MacBook Pro 14 possesses the blockier and more minimalist aesthetic shared by all modern MacBooks. It is available in Space Gray, Silver, and Space Black, and boasts an elegance that few laptops can match. The MacBook has thinner bezels and a notch in the display to accommodate the webcam, while the HP’s bezels are slim enough except for the thick bottom chin that accommodates the 360-degree hinge.

As a 2-in-in laptop, the Spectre x360 14 offers a few advantages over the MacBook Pro 14. First, it has a pen-enabled touch display, whereas the MacBook has no touch options. Second, the display swivels around to work in clamshell, tent, media, and tablet modes. That offers a lot more flexibility than the clamshell-only MacBook Pro 14.

Both laptops are constructed from CNC-machined aluminum, and both are solidly built. The MacBook Pro 14’s hinge is smoother and allows opening of the laptop with one hand, while the Spectre’s is stiffer to accommodate the 2-in-1 functionality.

The MacBook Pro 14 sports the best keyboard on a laptop, the Magic Keyboard, with large keycaps, plenty of key spacing, and switches that are light, snappy, and precise. The Spectre’s keyboard also has large keycaps and excellent key spacing, but its deeper switches aren’t quite as precise due to a less comfortable bottoming action with less feedback.

The Spectre x360 14 has an excellent haptic touchpad with virtual clicks that feel natural and responsive, and it’s even larger than the MacBook’s equally excellent Force Touch touchpad. The MacBook Pro 14’s touchpad has the Force Click feature that provides additional functionality with more forceful clicks, which the Spectre x360 14 doesn’t offer.

The Spectre x360 14 offers the better videoconferencing experience.

Connectivity is mixed. The MacBook offers an additional Thunderbolt 4 port and an HDMI connection, with the Spectre having a legacy USB-A port. The MacBook Pro 14 has a full-sized SD card reader, while the Spectre omits an SD reader entirely. That favors the MacBook. On the other hand, the Spectre supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, while the MacBook is stuck on Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.

The Spectre x360 14 has a 9MP webcam that supports up to 2160p video, which is a higher resolution than the MacBook’s 1080p webcam. The Spectre’s webcam also has hardware-based lowlight correction and offers a variety of AI-enhanced features. HP also includes user presence-sensing technology that leverages an infrared camera to lock the laptop and put it to sleep when the user steps away, and wake it up and log back in when the user returns.

The MacBook Pro 14 has the Touch ID fingerprint reader in the power button, and that’s it. Note that the Spectre also has a fingerprint reader in the power button to go with Windows 11 Hello facial recognition.

The Spectre x360 14 uses Intel’s latest Meteor Lake chipsets, specifically the 28-watt Core Ultra 125H (14 cores, 18 threads) and Core Ultra 7 155H (16 cores, 22 threads). We tested it with the latter and found it performs better than Intel’s previous 28-watt chips, but not remarkably so. The Core Ultra chipsets are notable for their new neural processing units (NPUs) and potentially improved efficiency. The Spectre is limited to Intel Arc integrated graphics, which are faster than the previous Intel Iris Xe graphics, but not as fast as entry-level Nvidia discrete GPUs. Unlike some other 14-inch laptops, no discrete graphics options are available, which limits its performance compared to the MacBook Pro.

Apple’s MacBook Pro 14 is available with various M3 chipsets, including the base M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max with differing CPU and GPU core counts. We tested the highest-end M3 Max with 16 CPU cores and 40 GPU cores. That’s a very fast chipset in both CPU- and GPU-intensive tasks.

The MacBook Pro 14 with the M3 Max is significantly faster than the Spectre x360 14. It’s also much more expensive. We haven’t tested the MacBook with the base M3 processor, but the Apple iMac with that chip performs similarly to the Core Ultra 7 155H. The M3 is likely to provide similar performance in the MacBook Pro 14.

The Spectre x360 14 is available with a 14-inch 2.8K OLED display running at up to 120Hz. That’s roughly the same sharpness as the Liquid Retina XDR Mini-LED panel on the MacBook Pro 14. Both displays run at up to 120Hz.

The Spectre’s colors are wider and more accurate than the MacBook’s, although both are good enough for serious creative work. Both displays have near-perfect black levels in incredible contrast, while the MacBook’s Mini-LED display has more standard dynamic range (SDR) brightness by default while providing a searing 1,600 nits for high dynamic range (HDR) video.

Both displays are excellent for productivity users, creators, and media consumers. The latter group will be much happier with the class-leading HDR performance on the MacBook Pro 14.

The MacBook Pro 14 has six speakers and force-canceling woofers that pump out the loudest and highest-quality audio you’ll find on a 14-inch laptop. Mids and highs are crystal clear, while there’s also plenty of bass.

The Spectre x360 14 has four speakers, including two woofers that fire out the front, and it provides some of the best audio short of the MacBook. It, too, produces plenty of volume, with clear mids and highs. The biggest difference is in the amount of bass to accentuate music and action TV show and movies. The Spectre is very good, but the MacBook is excellent.

The Spectre x360 14 and MacBook Pro 14 are similar in width and depth, with the former being slightly thicker and the latter slightly heavier. Both are highly portable machines.

The biggest difference comes in battery life. The Spectre x360 14 has an average battery life of around eight hours of web browsing and 14 hours of video. The MacBook Pro 14 will hit around 18 hours of web browsing and likely slightly more when looping video. If working a full day is important to you, then the MacBook Pro will last that and even more. Comparing these two laptops directly makes that difference painfully obvious.

The Spectre x360 14 is the best convertible 2-in-1 available today. It’s fast, well-built, has a beautiful OLED display, and gets good battery life. The MacBook Pro 14 can be configured to be much faster (especially in the graphics department), and it has equally good build quality, a stunning mini-LED display, and the best battery life on a 14-inch laptop.

The difference comes down to whether you want the flexibility of a 2-in-1 or a traditional clamshell. Of course, price is important as well, because to get the fastest MacBook Pro 14, you’ll need to spend a lot more money. In the end, you can’t beat it on battery life, though — and that’s something no Windows laptop has been able to compete with.

Mark Coppock

Picking out a new MacBook isn't as easy as it used to be. While Apple finally dropped the 13-inch MacBook Pro that didn't match the line's modern design, it introduced a new 14-inch MacBook Pro with an entry-level M3 processor. If you prefer a larger screen or more performance, you might be left considering two compelling options: the 15-inch MacBook Air and the 14-inch MacBook Pro.

Having reviewed and used both laptops extensively, I'm here to lay it all out for you. Here's the difference between the two machines and how to easily determine which is right for you. The easy way to know which to buy

Apple just upset everyone, claiming that the 8GB of Unified Memory available in the base MacBook Pro M3 is "probably analogous to 16GB on other systems."

The MacBook Pro M3 has already come under fire for only including 8GB of Unified Memory in its base configuration, which runs $1,600. MacWorld recently ran a story criticizing the 8GB of memory in the MacBook Pro M3, saying, "If 8GB will be a bottleneck for many today, imagine the performance of that non-upgradeable laptop in a few years’ time."

Apple's next generation of MacBook Pros is finally here, and they arrive touting the highly anticipated M3 chip. Like the previous generation, you have a choice between a 14-inch and 16-inch model, but there are a lot of differences when you start looking at the three versions of the chip that are available: the M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max.

We're here to run you through all of the configuration options for the MacBook Pro M3, as well as if you should choose the M3, M3 Pro, or M3 Max. Apple currently has the

HP Spectre x360 14 (2024) vs HP Envy x360 14 (2023): Premium and budget convertibles go head-to-head

Hp spectre x360 14 (2024).

HP's refreshed Spectre x360 14 for 2024 brings a larger 2.8K OLED display with included active pen, redesigned chassis, 9MP camera, quad speakers, and much more. It can handle a relatively heavy workflow and even some respectable gaming thanks to integrated Intel Arc graphics. It doesn't come cheap, and you'll likely pay about twice as much compared to the Envy x360.

  • 2.8K OLED touch display with included pen
  • Intel Core Ultra performance for work and gaming
  • 9MP webcam, quad speakers, Thunderbolt 4 ports
  • Very expensive

HP Envy x360 14

HP's Envy x360 14 for 2023 is a more affordable alternative to the premium Spectre x360. It's a great convertible laptop in its own right, though its 16:9 display, lack of Thunderbolt, and lesser performance might stand in the way of a good time. If you want to spend less than $1,000 on a new device, this is the way to go.

  • Costs far less than the Spectre x360 14
  • Above-average convertible build and features for the price
  • Active pen included for inking
  • Intel U-series CPUs not as powerful as Core Ultra
  • No Thunderbolt 4, lower-res webcam
  • Not as premium of a design or feature-set

HP hit CES 2024 with some new hardware, including the redesigned HP Spectre x360 for 2024 . HP has returned what we consider the overall best laptop for most people to a 14-inch size — it was 13.5 inches for a few years — and it also subdued some of the premium styling. No more dual-tone design! Along with fresh Intel Core Ultra processors (CPU) and new display options, this is one awesome convertible laptop.

HP's Envy x360 lineup is a more affordable alternative to the premium Spectre x360, and a 14-inch model from 2023 is still the latest that we can compare to the new Spectre. HP has made great strides even in its more affordable brands, and many people will be satisfied with what the Envy x360 has to offer, especially when we get into pricing.

Let's look at the similarities and differences between these two great HP laptops to help you get the perfect new device.

HP Spectre x360 14 (2024) vs. Envy x360 14 (2023): Price, specs, & availability

The 14-inch Spectre x360 (2024) is already available at HP's official website. Prices start at about $1,540 for a model with Intel Core Ultra 5 125H CPU, integrated Intel Arc graphics, 16GB of RAM, 512GB M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, and 2.8K OLED touch display with included active pen for inking. It's available in Nightfall Black, Slate Blue, and Sahara Silver colors.

HP offers a bunch of customization options, and you can go all the way up to a Core Ultra 7 155H CPU, 32GB of RAM, 2TB SSD, and 2.8K OLED display for about $1,950.

The Envy x360 regularly starts at about $850 for a model with 13th-gen Intel Core i5-1335U CPU, Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics, 8GB of RAM, and 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD, and 14-inch FHD touch display with included active pen. However, at the time of writing it's down to $630, making it far, far more affordable than even the introductory Spectre x360 model.

Bumping things up to a Core i7-1355U CPU, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB SSD raises the price to about $1,110 before any discounts. At the time of writing it's down to $890. Even without a discount, the top-tier Envy x360 model costs more than $400 less than the baseline Spectre x360.

Here's a closer look at the specs available in each laptop.

HP Spectre x360 14 (2024) vs. Envy x360 14 (2023): HP makes beautiful laptops

HP hasn't been shy about changing its Spectre x360 over the years, and we've seen it evolve from flashy to now, again, more subdued. XDA Editor-in-Chief Rich Woods has reviewed every Spectre x360 model since 2016, and he was even lucky enough to get his hands on the redesigned 2024 model for an in-depth look.

The latest Spectre x360 14 for 2024 has smoothed edges, angled rear corners, and no accenting around the touchpad, hinge, or frame. It's a much cleaner look, and HP still makes good use of those rear corners to house a 3.5mm audio jack and a Thunderbolt 4 port. These are extra useful when using the laptop in a convertible mode. The Spectre otherwise has on its edges another Thunderbolt 4 port, USB-A 3.2 (Gen 2), and a 3.5mm audio jack.

HP has returned to a more subdued (but undeniably premium) design for 2024's Spectre x360 14.

The Spectre x360 14 is smaller in every way compared to the Envy x360, and it also weighs less. Both laptops are made primarily from aluminum for lasting durability. The Envy's chassis has more room for ports, though they aren't as remarkable as those in the Spectre. There's no Thunderbolt, and the Envy x360 instead relies on USB-C 3.2 (Gen 2). It also has dual USB-A 3.2, HDMI 2.1, 3.5mm audio, and a handy microSD card reader. Native video-out is nice, but I'd rather have the Thunderbolt connections for use with a great docking station . Your preferences will no doubt vary depending on your workflow.

HP's keyboards are excellent, and you shouldn't see a huge difference between the Spectre and Envy models. The 2024 Spectre x360 does, however, now come with a haptic touchpad. The Envy x360 has a traditional touchpad with moving parts.

The Spectre x360 14 really begins to pull away from the Envy x360 when we get into speakers and camera. The new Spectre now has a 9MP webcam stacked with extra features that get even better with Intel's enhancements that come with Core Ultra CPUs. It can even shoot at a 4K resolution, and it includes an IR sensor for facial recognition.

HP offers some of the best webcams in its Spectre and Envy laptops.

The Envy x360 14, for its price, has a respectable 5MP webcam that should be suitable for most people, even if you're often involved in professional video meetings. It adds an IR sensor for Windows Hello facial recognition. Both laptops also have a fingerprint reader.

There are four speakers in the Spectre x360, doubling up the Envy's dual-speaker setup. You can expect much better audio from the Spectre due to the speaker count, but it gets even better thanks to Poly Studio, DTS:X Ultra, and HP Audio Boost enhancements. The Envy can produce decent sound in its own right, and it too comes with HP Audio Boost.

For wireless connectivity, the Envy x360 can be configured with Realtek or Intel Wi-Fi 6E as well as Bluetooth 5.3. You can get Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 in the Spectre, but it also has optional Wi-Fi 7 with Bluetooth 5.4 if you'd like to future-proof your purchase.

And finally, the Spectre comes in Nightfall Black, Slate Blue, and Sahara Silver colors. This gives you more options to flaunt your style compared to the Envy 360 that comes in a silver color only.

HP has clearly focused its premium stylings into the Spectre x360 14, and it shouldn't disappoint anyone who wants high-end features in a convertible. But the Envy is no slouch either, coming at you with a sleek convertible design and some features that are above average in this price range.

HP Spectre x360 14 (2024) vs. Envy x360 14 (2023): OLED is a clear winner

HP moved the Spectre x360's touch display from 13.5 inches to 14 inches for the 2024 model. This comes with a move from 3:2 aspect ratio to 16:10 aspect ratio. In his Spectre x360 14 (2024) review , XDA Editor-in-Chief Rich Woods tested 100% sRGB, 95% AdobeRGB, and 100% DCI-P3, all phenomenal results that you can expect from OLED tech. The screen's 2.8K resolution is super crisp, and the 120Hz refresh rate keeps things looking smooth at all times.

The Envy x360 14 (2023) also has a 14-inch screen, but it's a standard IPS with a 16:9 aspect ratio and FHD resolution. It's not nearly as impressive, and the aspect ratio isn't as good for a convertible device. It really has nothing on the Spectre's display, but it can nevertheless do a good job for standard productivity work.

Both laptops come with a bundled active pen for inking. They each support the MPP 2.0 standard for a natural feel when writing or drawing.

HP Spectre x360 14 (2024) vs. Envy x360 14 (2023): Intel Core Ultra brings a big performance boost

The HP Spectre x360's 120Hz display is good for more than just being easy on the eyes. The new Intel Core Ultra CPUs with integrated Intel Arc graphics can actually handle respectable gaming performance even in AAA titles. Developers are really just starting to tap into the Core Ultra's neural processing unit (NPU) capabilities, but you can already expect 1080p gaming at 60FPS.

Compared to the 13th-gen Intel Core U-series chips available in the Envy x360 14, you can expect slightly improved single-core performance and greatly improved multi-core performance. If you need a laptop that can handle productivity, entertainment, and gaming, I strongly recommend you stick with the Spectre x360 and its Core Ultra chips.

Intel's Core Ultra CPUs make the Spectre x360 14 a true jack-of-all-trades.

In our testing we saw between six and seven hours of runtime from the Spectre x360 14 (2024), and that number will fluctuate depending on your power settings and workflow. It has a much larger 68Wh battery compared to the Envy x360's 43Wh battery, though the Envy's lower-res display and 15W CPU TDP (compared to 28W) will help balance the runtimes. Both laptops should be able to get you through most of a workday on a single charge.

HP Spectre x360 14 (2024) vs. Envy x360 14 (2023): Which is right for you?

We know that the Spectre x360 14 for 2024 is the more premium laptop with improved Intel Core Ultra performance and a gorgeous 2.8K OLED touch display. It's the easy winner if money is no issue. It offers one of the best overall experiences you'll find in a laptop today, capable of relatively heavy work and respectable gaming while also appealing to professionals and casual users alike.

It doesn't have 5G connectivity or a privacy display, but you can turn to HP's great business laptops — including the Dragonfly G4 we reviewed — if you're leaning heavier into the professional world. The Spectre x360 is the best consumer laptop you can buy today, but you will have to spend big.

Be sure to check out our Spectre x360 14 (2024) vs. Spectre x360 13.5 (2023) comparison for more info on changes between generations.

The HP Spectre x360 for 2024 is the best laptop you can buy today. It's powerful, it's packed with premium features, and it has a gorgeous 2.8K OLED touch display. It costs almost twice as much as the Envy x360, so be sure you absolutely need to have all that it offers before spending large.

HP's Envy x360 14 (2023) pales in most areas of comparison against the refreshed Spectre x360 14 for 2024, but that doesn't mean it's not a great laptop in its own right. HP has been making small tweaks to its more affordable laptops over the years, and Envy laptops are now much better than their pricing might suggest. They're built well, they have great keyboards, the 5MP webcam is impressive, and performance and battery life are solid.

If you don't want to spend upwards of $1,500 to $2,000 on a new laptop, the Envy x360 14's starting price of about $850 (or $630 when discounted, like at the time of writing) should be much more appetizing. I consider these some of the best affordable laptops , and anyone who just needs a well-balanced convertible for productivity or homework, web browsing, streaming, and light gaming will be able to save a lot of money. Just don't expect the same level of premium features and performance as is available in the Spectre x360.

If neither of these PCs are quite what you imagined, our list of the best convertible laptops has more hardware to check out.

The 14-inch Envy x360 for 2023 is far more affordable than the Spectre x360, often costing half as much or less. You won't get all the same high-end features, high-res display, or the boosted performance from Core Ultra chips, but it's still a viable option for more casual users who just want a balanced convertible that competes very well against other affordable PCs.

spectre x360 13 aw1000

The record was set in 2019 by a team of seven athletes from Russia, Germany, France and Canada. They did it on September 8, on which the ‘Moscow-City Day’ is celebrated. The cord was stretched at the height of 350 m between the ‘OKO’ (“Eye”) and ‘Neva Towers’ skyscrapers. The distance between them is 245 m. The first of the athletes to cross was Friede Kuhne from Germany. The athletes didn't just walk, but also performed some daredevil tricks. Their record is 103 meters higher than the previous one set in Mexico City in December 2016.

2. Domination of Europe's top-10 highest skyscrapers

7 out of 10 Europe’s highest skyscrapers are located in Moscow-City. Earlier, the  ‘Federation Tower’ complex’s ‘Vostok’ (“East”) skyscraper was the considered the tallest in Europe.

Left to right: the lower of the ‘Neva Towers’ (296 m), Commerzbank Tower in Frankfurt (300 m), Gorod Stolits (“City of Capitals”) Moscow tower (302 m), Eurasia tower (309 m), The Shard’ skyscraper in London (310 m), Mercury City Tower (339 m), Neva Towers (345 m).

However, in 2018, the construction of the 462 meter tall ‘Lakhta Center’ in Saint-Petersburg was completed, pushing ‘Vostok’ (374 m) into 2nd place. The 3rd place is taken by OKO’s southern tower (354 m).

3. The unrealized ‘Rossiya’ tower

spectre x360 13 aw1000

If all the building plans of Moscow-City were realized, the ‘Lakhta Center’ in St. Petersburg wouldn't have a chance to be Europe's highest skyscraper. Boris Tkhor, the architect who designed the concept of Moscow-City, had planned for the ‘Rossiya’ tower to be the tallest. In his project, it was a 600 meter tall golden cylindrical skyscraper ending with a spire that was inspired by traditional Russian bell towers. Then, the project was reinvented by famous British architect Sir Norman Foster. He had designed ‘Rossiya’ as a pyramid ending with a spire. The skyscraper itself would have been 612 meters tall, and the height including the spire would have reached 744,5 meters (for comparison, the ‘Burj Khalifa’ in Dubai, UAE, would have been just 83,5 meters taller). Unfortunately, the investors faced a lot of economic problems, due to the 2008 financial crisis, so the ‘Rossiya’ skyscraper was never built. A shopping mall and the ‘Neva Towers’ complex was constructed at its place in 2019.

4. Changed appearance of ‘Federation Tower’

spectre x360 13 aw1000

In its first project, the ‘Federation Tower’ was designed to resemble a ship with a mast and two sails. The mast was to be represented by a tall glass spire with passages between the towers. It was planned to make a high-speed lift in it. The top of the spire was going to be turned into an observation deck. But the ship lost its mast in the middle of its construction. Experts at the Moscow-city Museum based in the ‘Imperia’ (“Empire”) tower say, that the construction of the spire was stopped, firstly, due to fire safety reasons and secondly, because it posed a threat to helicopter flights – the flickering glass of the spire could potentially blind the pilots. So, the half-built construction was disassembled. However, an observation deck was opened in the ‘Vostok’ tower.

5. Open windows of ‘Federation Tower’

spectre x360 13 aw1000

We all know that the windows of the upper floors in different buildings don’t usually open. Experts say that it’s not actually for people’s safety. Falling from a big height is likely to be fatal in any building. The actual reason is the ventilation system. In a skyscraper, it’s managed with a mechanical system, and the building has its own climate. But in the ‘Zapad’ (“West”) tower of the ‘Federation Tower’ complex, the windows can open. The 62nd and last floor of the tower are taken up by a restaurant called ‘Sixty’. There, the windows are equipped with a special hydraulic system. They open for a short period of time accompanied by classical music, so the guests can take breathtaking photos of Moscow.

6. Broken glass units of ‘Federation Tower’

spectre x360 13 aw1000

The guests of the ‘Sixty’ restaurant at the top of the ‘Zapad’ tower can be surprised to see cracked glass window panes. It is particularly strange, if we take into consideration the special type of this glass. It is extremely solid and can’t be broken once installed. For example, during experiments people threw all sorts of heavy items at the windows, but the glass wouldn’t break. The broken glass units of ‘Zapad’ were already damaged during shipment . As each of them is curved in its own way to make the tower’s curvature smooth, making a new set of window panes and bringing them to Russia was deemed too expensive . Moreover, the investors had financial problems (again, due to the 2008 financial crisis), so the ‘Vostok’ tower even stood unfinished for several years. Eventually, the cracked window panes were installed in their place.

7. The highest restaurant in Europe

spectre x360 13 aw1000

‘Birds’, another restaurant in Moscow-City, is remarkable for its location. It was opened at the end of 2019 on the 84th floor of the ‘OKO’ complex’s southern tower. Guests at the restaurant can enjoy an amazing panoramic view at a height of 336 meters. On January 28, the experts of ‘Kniga Recordov Rossii’ (“Russian Records Book”) declared ‘Birds’ the highest restaurant in Europe, a step toward an application for a Guinness World Record.

Jeremy D 11/25/2023 TripAdvisor review

Hotel Novotel Moscow City is an excellent hotel and a great value for the price, located in Moscow City and next to AfiMall and lots of good restaurants walking distance. It is my favorite hotel to stay at when I am in Moscow. The rooms are comfortable, the sauna and gym are good, and the restaurant and bar in the lobby are convenient. The people who work there are extremely helpful. Catherine Golovanova was working behind the front desk when I had some issues with my flight and she was incredibly helpful and delivered a lot of value on my hotel scheduling issues. That woman has a bright future in the hotel industry - I really believe she would be a great manager for a high end hotel. Extremely helpful in an elegant and diplomatic way. If you are visiting Moscow I strongly recommend a stay in the Hotel Novotel Moscow City.

Standard business hotel. We had a nice room with a comfy bed and a shower cabin. Nothing special in the design but tidy. The hotel location was a bit of disappointment. I expected more things to do in that area but appeared to be nothing more than a mall. To enjoy outing you have to take transportation to the city center.

Dear Guest! We are delighted to hear that you had a pleasant experience at Novotel Moscow City. We look forward to welcoming you back soon. Sincerely, Irina Naumova Quality and Attitude Manager
