The Haunted Hathaways
Michelle Hathaway and her two daughters, Taylor and Frankie, move to New Orleans and discover that their new house is already occupied by a dad and his sons… who happen to be ghosts.
As the newest member of the gymnastics team, Taylor is responsible for hosting a team sleepover. Unfortunately Frankie and Louie team up and try to scare Taylor and her friends out of the house.
Taylor finds herself in a pickle when Michelle forbids the use of ghost shortcuts right after Taylor tells her teammates that (secretly with Miles' help) she can win the cash prize at the science fair and get them new uniforms.
An argument between Ray and Michelle leads them to switch roles and attempt to parent the other person's children. Lo and behold, Michelle is unable to wrangle the boys and Ray is thrown by the intricacies of girl social antics.
Frankie is not the best player on her school volleyball team, so Ray gives Frankie a one-time "boost," but when Frankie is left to rely on Louie's erratic abilities, she must find the inner confidence to step up on her own.
When Michelle leaves Miles to babysit an ever-scheming Louie and Frankie duo, they think they've pulled the ultimate prank, but Miles and Michelle get the last laugh.

Nothing specifically educational, but the show includes positive messages about overcoming differences, self-esteem, and family unity.
The show celebrates nontraditional family structures as illustrated by two devoted single parents and their respective broods. It also explores themes like compromise, fitting in with peers, and embracing change, all with messages that reflect self-awareness and tolerance. Though the cast includes white and African-American characters, racial differences are never an issue in the stories.
Positive Role Models
Both Michelle and Ray are great parents who set positive examples for their kids to follow. Though their situation isn't ideal, they make it work for everyone's sake and expect the same from their kids. There's often some playful rivalry between siblings and among the four kids, but it's always light-hearted and never does any real damage.
Violence & Scariness
Physical comedy is funnier than it is worrisome. There are some surprises at the hands of the ghosts, who pop in and out of scenes and can change their appearances and rearrange their body parts, but it's not meant to be scary.

Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that The Haunted Hathaways is an entertaining sitcom that boasts positive, worry-free family entertainment. The story is fresh, the characters are delightful, and the positive messages it sends about families and relationships are worthwhile for viewers of any age. Although three of the main characters are ghosts, they're funnier than they are scary, so even young kids can watch without worry. There are two examples of exemplary single parents, and it's through their influence that the kids learn to compromise for the benefit of the group. This likable series is a fun spin on the traditional family sitcom.

Wait. How is this TV-G?
Best show ever, what's the story.
Michelle Hathaway (Ginifer King) and her daughters, Taylor (Amber Montana) and Frankie (Breanna Yde), aren't sure what to expect when they relocate to New Orleans following Michelle's divorce, but nothing can prepare them for the surprise awaiting them in their new home, where they're met by a family of ghosts. Ray Preston (Chico Benymon) and his sons, Miles (Curtis Harris) and Louie (Benjamin Flores Jr.) have haunted the house for years, and they've never met a resident they couldn't scare away, but the Hathaways put up a fight and refuse to give in. Eventually the two sides agree to a truce and vow to share the house, but that doesn't stop the hijinks as these two families learn to live alongside each other.
Is It Any Good?
THE HAUNTED HATHAWAYS is a charming sitcom that touches on issues many families can relate to, like sibling rivalry, coping with unexpected change, and being open to new ideas. The supernatural aspect notwithstanding, this could be the story of any family, whether single- or two-parent, large or small, blended or not. The characters' interplay yields plenty of laughs -- thanks to a talented cast and comical set-ups that play on the ghosts' special tricks -- but there are just as many heartwarming moments that extol positive family relationships.
But perhaps the best attributes of The Haunted Hathaways exist in what's missing from the show. There's no strong language, no suggestive dialogue, and (even with ghosts in the mix), no real scares. Despite the obvious racial and gender divide among the characters, these differences don't come into play, so stereotypes are nonexistent. What's more, as the characters evolve from cautiously tolerating each other to building real relationships that transcend their differences, they rewrite the concept of what defines and unites a family.

In the crossover The Haunted Thundermans , it revealed that this power can be negated by protective amulets (which Phoebe calls a Demon Bling ) made from an element called Demonite , that would protect it wearer from ghost possession. If a ghost ever possessed a superhero/villain, it would combine it's ghost powers with their superpowers they would then become unstoppable.
It’s also revealed that it is dangerous for more than one ghost to possess the same thing. But if powerful enough, the second ghost can succeed in expelling the first ghost. The reason why it dangerous is because both ghost can switch forms.

Ghosts have the power to change themselves into animals, plants, objects, etc. They can also turn into elements like a rainbow and possibly manipulate the said elements. Ghost can also use this power to grow extra limbs or even stretch all or some of their body parts.
Size Manipulation [ ]
With the aid of their shapeshifting, ghosts can manipulate the size of themselves or other ghosts and humans.
Splitting [ ]
With the aid of their shapeshifting, ghosts have the power to split themselves into two separate halves, both of which retain full autonomy.
Elasticity [ ]
With the aid of their shapeshifting, ghosts are able to stretch their bodies like rubber.
Portal Creation [ ]
Although this ability isn’t common for all ghost. This ability allows ghost to travel from the Ghost World to the human world and vise verse. The portals look like doors or circle shape. Because this isn’t common, most Ghosts use a mirror portal in their haunted house to get to the Ghost World and they can go back to the Human World by using a fountain and snapping their fingers.

Next 'Fear Street' Movie Will Adapt This R.L. Stine Classic
The 'Fear Street' trilogy is streaming on Netflix now.
The Big Picture
- Fear Street is returning for another film installment, based on R.L. Stine's book, "The Prom Queen."
- The first three films, known as The Fear Street Trilogy , tied the stories together and featured a talented cast.
- The upcoming film, "The Prom Queen," will be a standalone production and is expected to feature top-notch young performers.
It’s the moment R.L. Stine fans have been waiting for - Fear Street is returning for another film installment. Direct from the pages of the YA horror author’s spooky series, Netflix has so far made three titles into feature-length adaptations and, thanks to Stine’s X account, a fourth one is on the way. In his statement, the author wrote , “Movie News: I can finally announce that a new Fear Street movie is about to go into production for Netflix. It’s based on my Fear Street book, The Prom Queen . Good news!” Good news indeed to kick off the weekend in an intriguingly horrifying way as we can now begin to speculate who will be cast in the upcoming project.
The first three Netflix films were released as The Fear Street Trilogy , which tied the stories together and featured performances from Kiana Madeira ( Trinkets ) , Olivia Scott Welch ( Panic ), and Benjamin Flores Jr. ( The Haunted Hathaways ) as the young teens at the center of the mysteries and murders. Boasting an impressive lineup of guests, the titles also saw the likes of Sadie Sink ( Stranger Things ), Gillian Jacobs ( Community ), Maya Hawke ( Stranger Things ), and Darrell Britt-Gibson ( The Wire ). While the original set of movies dipped in and out of the past, present, and future, it seems that The Prom Queen will be a standalone production. Still, we can expect the main cast to feature some top-notch young performers with some big names filling out the ensemble.
For those who have kept up with their Collider readings, you’ll know that the subject of a new Fear Street movie has long been chatted about over at Netflix HQ. Back in November, Collider’s Steve Weintraub spoke to the company’s Head of Film, Scott Stuber , and managed to wrangle some Fear Street information from him . Back then, Stuber teased, “There’s one stand-alone that we’re working on right now that we’re once again trying to get the script right, but I like it very much, and so does the team. So I feel like if we can get that script right there would be a great kind of extension of that franchise.” Now, we can almost without a doubt say that the project in question was The Prom Queen , unless Stuber and the rest of the team have some other surprises up their sleeves .
Give Me More R.L. Stine Horror!
While you wait for more news about the whens, whats, and how’s of the next chapter of Fear Street in The Prom Queen , there’s plenty more bits and pieces of Stine’s material floating out across the streaming airwaves . As mentioned, Netflix is still the home of the original trilogy of films that pay homage to all things neon, ’90s, and slasher. If you take a trip over to Disney+ or Hulu, a rebooted version of the classic Goosebumps series debuted last year featuring Justin Long ( Barbarian ) in a leading role. The show dipped in and out of some of the most notable books in Stine’s original series including Say Cheese and Die and Night of the Living Dummy .
Check out Stine’s official X post below and stay tuned for more information about Fear Street ’s return in The Prom Queen . The Fear Street movies are streaming on Netflix in the U.S.
