Below Deck Mediterranean: Inside The Wellington superyacht now for sale

The Wellesley , star of charter TV show Below Deck Mediterranean , has now been listed for sale by TWW with an asking price of €14,500,000. We take a look inside the 56.2 metre superyacht that starred in season five.

The yacht, which was renamed The Wellington for the hit yacht-based US reality show, is owned by the property magnate and hotelier behind London's luxury art deco London hotel The Wellesley.

Built by  Oceanco  in 1993,  The Wellesley is a modern charter yacht that features extended deck spaces and  Donald Starkey -penned interiors that replicate the grandeur of the eponymous Knightsbridge hotel.

Every detail on board is connected with the hotel, from the 1920s styling and linen in the six guest cabins to the Arabescato Corchia marble and Hermès amenities in the bathrooms.

The owner's passion for cigars is also evident on board thanks to a bespoke humidor housing a selection of fine cigars, which guests can enjoy in the club lounge or on the connecting outdoor smoking deck.

Designed by  Gerhard Gilgenast ,  The Wellelsey  underwent a complete refit in 2016 and accommodates a total of 12 guests in five cabins.

The Season 5 Cast of Below Deck Med Is Doing Great After Filming

What happened to Hannah, Malia, and the rest of the Wellington crew?

preview for Here's What It Takes To Be On "Below Deck"

Did Hannah ever go back to yachting? Are Malia and Tom still together? Did Alex and Bugsy end up hooking up onshore? And most importantly—where is Kiko? Here's what we know about where they are now:

Hannah Ferrier

Well, season 5 definitely didn't work in Hannah's favor. From the revolving door of second stews to being fired over not informing the captain about having prescription drugs on board, Hannah's sarcasm mixed with her no-nonsense attitude made fans come back to see how she'd react to the latest meltdown every week.

Sadly for fans, Hannah decided to quit yachting after being let go from the series. But she's not feeling sad for herself, as she just started her own yachting company. Oh, and she's due to give birth to a baby girl very soon. Not exactly a bad way to leave the show.

Bugsy Drake

When Bugsy came aboard the Wellington as the first replacement second stew (more on that later), no one expected her to have to step up to the plate and become chief stew so quickly. In between taking care of guests, she also caught the eye of deckhand Alex Radcliffe, putting the concept of "will they or won't they" to the ultimate test.

While it's still unclear if she ended up dating Alex (despite the makeout session during a crew night out), given the latest posts on her IG account, she's not leaving yachting anytime soon.

Jessica More

As the only member of the interior who managed to make it through the entire charter season, Jessica had to deal with a broken hand and a revolving door of chief stews, all while trying to spark—and then salvage—a rocky boat romance with deckhand Robert.

While fans all know the couple never made it past the charter season, Jessica seems to be doing just fine for herself, enjoying life and taking selfies in exotic locations.

Related: Here's Where Jessica More and Robert Westergaard's Relationship Stands After 'Below Deck Med'

Aesha Scott

Fans were not expecting Aesha to show up as the new second stew of the Wellington after Hannah's departure, but her zen-like personality and affinity for sex jokes brought a renewed energy to the season. Although she sometimes finds herself on the receiving end of Tom's rages (#cucumbergate) she can still hold her own, which is surprisingly refreshing for this hormonal crew.

After the season ended, Aesha hasn't stopped traveling the world. This time, though, she has a new man to trek with and bring her some happiness after her failed Below Deck relationship with Jack.

Lara Flumiani

Was Lara the second stew that broke Hannah's back or just a misunderstood woman blasted on TV? Although fans weren't particularly upset when she decided to skip out on the majority of the charter season, Pete clearly had some thoughts—and tears—about it.

It doesn't seem like leaving the show particularly hurt Lara, as she's still living her best life working on other motor yachts.

Tom Checketts

When Tom came onboard for a short visit to girlfriend Malia before jetting off to England, he—and fans alike—didn't expect for him to put on the chef's coat for the rest of the season. While he seems to have a temper when it comes to perfecting his dishes (and let's be honest—what chef doesn't have a meltdown once in a while?), it's clear he loves Malia, enough to let her be his sous-chef for most meals.

Is Tom still working on boats, and more importantly—is he still with Malia? Given his most recent IG posts, it looks like he's still pining for his sailing love, but Malia might not feel the same way towards him (more on that later).

Related: Tom Checketts Is More Than Just the Hot New Chef on 'Below Deck Med'

Hindrigo "Kiko" Lorran

Fans can't deny how Kiko was the nicest chef the franchise ever saw, but the guests needed a little more than his famous moqueca dish to keep him on the Wellington. After a disastrous night where he attempted to cook a Vegas-style meal, Kiko sadly chose to leave the boat and let go of all the pressure he felt to cook the perfect dinner.

If fans think he's still tearing up over his hasty departure, they're sadly mistaken. He's gladly enjoying his life cooking and spending time with his girlfriend.

Malia White

As the first female bosun featured in the entire franchise, Malia had some making up to do after creating some relationship drama on season 2 of Med . With (somewhat) disrespectful deckhands, a chef for a boyfriend onboard (Tom) and potentially throwing Hannah under the bus, fans aren't so sure if she's the bosun they hoped she'd be.

If you wondered whether Malia quit yachting after her sophomore season on the show, do not fear—she's still working on major yachts in the Med. As for her relationship with Tom, it looks like she's jumped ship from their long-term relationship. She recently scrubbed him clean from her IG account and replaced them with a rather cryptic photo singing the praises of singledom.

Related: Here's What Happened to Malia White and Tom Checketts' Relationship From 'Below Deck Med'

Alex Radcliffe

As the lead deckhand, Alex never ceased putting in a good day's work. When he wasn't working on deck, he was busy displaying his affection for chief stew Bugsy, to the point where he made out with her during a night out with the crew.

Although it's still unclear whether he and Bugsy actually ended up together, he's clearly reminiscing his days on the Wellington with all the throwback selfies.

Robert Westergaard

The handsome South African not only did a good job on deck—he managed to snag a girlfriend in third stew Jess early on in the season. Although he couldn't necessarily hold back his emotions (good or bad) while on charter, at least he didn't call his boss "sweetie."

He and Jess' relationship never made it past the boat—that much fans know. But if his IG posts give an insight into his life post-filming, he's all about gaining more skills on the boat.

Peter Hunziker

below deck mediterranean season 5

When Pete first boarded the Wellington, he immediately got on the wrong foot by calling Malia “sweetie,” despite her ranking higher than him on deck. While he might’ve had a few meltdowns early on the season, unfortunately for fans eager for drama, his screen time is very limited.

He was fired for a racist social media post around the time of the show’s premiere; Bravo minimized his appearance on the show from there. It's hard to say what Pete is up to post-filming—his social media pages are currently non-existent and he hasn't been featured in any press from the network.

Related: Here's Why You Almost Never See Pete on 'Below Deck Med'

Captain Sandy Yawn

On her fourth season of Med , Captain Sandy certainly doesn't need to prove her status as a captain. But this season does give her the chance to flex her skills, whether it be moving the vessel into a tight spot or having to use her authority to fire Hannah from the boat.

While she's not leaving yachting any time soon, she's currently spending some time with long-time love Leah Schafer.

On Below Deck Med, Sandy and Aesha school—and warn—their guests

A person standing behind a bar talks to a group of people

comment icon 3 comments

Below Deck Mediterranean season 9’s crew has been such a continuous disaster, from disappearing laundry to disappearing dock workers, that I’ve almost forgotten that the yacht has guests who can bring their own drama.

So it was quite a departure to spend most of the episode on this new group of guests, who were such terrors that Captain Sandy told a story that let them know she’d throw them off the boat if they continued to be meanies.

Here’s the thing, though: In terms of Below Deck guests, they were—not that bad? They kept asking for cocktails, and did some rich playacting things like demanding caviar.

All of this made for great TV, of course, though the lingering question is why these guests, and why now.

A person poking themselves in the forehead with two fingers on one hand

As a new day dawned, Iain described to us the “one or two little hiccups” from previous charters, giving the editors a chance for a montage of his colossal fuckups. “I’m just hoping we can have a smooth one,” he said.

They mostly did, thanks to Gael. At the end of the charter, Iain told the deckhands how they’d handle the lines while docking, and Gael said, “Iain, that’s not right.” Of course it’s not; it’s Iain. How does he remain bosun? But they made it in.

Gael and Iain went to pick up the guests on shore, and she was worried about driving the tender because she doesn’t have much experience. “Did you see that?” she said to the cameras with the excitement that a kid has for successfully depositing a poo. “I just did that!”

I do love Gael’s excitement, and her competence, and the way she’s being sassy toward Iain, telling him that they didn’t want him to work hard when they got the platforms ready without him. She really should be bosun or at least lead deckhand; experience on paper does not translate to effectiveness on deck.

Once the guests pulled up in a van, Iain said, and this is an actual quotation, “Is this guests?” I don’t know, Ian. Is it a van? Is this Greece? I don’t see guests, or a van, or Greece.

Below deck, Ellie and Bri seem to be functioning, though Ellie is still seething. “Things are not going to change because this entire time, it has been Bri fucking up,” Ellie said, forgetting that she screwed up Jono’s pants.

In real time, Ellie has expressed remorse for the way she treated Bri, which is impressive. On board, she’s improving too. “Do you have an empty washer, by any chance?” she nicely asked Bri. IF NOT THEN EMPTY ONE FOR I AM SECOND STEW YOU GIVE ME THE MACHINE I WANT!

Ellie did have an actual problem: She couldn’t find her dress, so she called Bri. “I’m pretty sure it happened before Aesha implemented this new rule so it doesn’t really count,” Bri said, and found the dress “in my bag,” unwashed. It’s absurd how bad Bri still is at this job.

My favorite metaphor from this episode came from Ellie. “We’ve been treating Bri like a baby deer,” Ellie told us, “and if I bring this dress up and get Bri fired because of it, it’d be like I shot Bambi. Doesn’t work in my favor whatsoever.” Smart strategy. Also, I’m pretty sure Bambi would be better at laundry.

Jono had food ready when the guests arrived, though it appeared to be like cheese boards, appropriate for sitting out. Just a few charters ago, our Jono was making eggs several weeks early and wrapping them in towels and putting them on the deck to keep them warm.

The guests’ demands began almost immediately. “The couches: it’d be great if they were gone,” the primary said. Does she want the deck crew to throw them overboard? It turned out she just wanted to take a photo, so Aesha and Bri moved a couch.

“Thank god, this is a shorter charter,” Aesha said, which I think is chief stew code for fuck my life.

The guests weren’t egregiously entitled assholes, like we’ve seen before, just demanding. “Can you get my martini?” the primary, Mahisha, asked Aesha. Her martini was sitting on a table immediately behind her. “Want to bring it to me?”

Mahisha also requested, on her preference sheet, “a culinary masterpiece from start to finish and rival any Michelin star restaurant.” Maybe go to a Michelin star restaurant? You’re on a yacht with one person cooking in a glorified closet.

There was a montage of guests asking for many, many drinks, with Joe and Nathan helping to deliver them, and Ellie getting spicy about demands (“The gentleman ordered before them, I’m sorry,” she said). What’s sketchy about this is the time that elapsed between all these asks. Were they asking for cocktails every five minutes? Or every 30? And on a yacht, asking for drinks and water while you’re hanging out on the deck and by the water is not unreasonable.

Mahisha, who was mentioning caviar and mother-of-pearl spoons as the tender approached the yacht, finally got her caviar, and declared, “it tastes a little like a washcloth.”

Jono said, “I didn’t shit out those eggs; some fish did.” I wish he’d told her that. What exactly did she expect him to do? Mahisha did host an OWN reality TV show, Mind Your Business with Mahisha , so maybe she’s just trying to produce some drama?

A group of people sitting at a table; one is talking to a server

The best scene in the episode did not involve Mahisha, but her guest, Neysla, who started complaining about a butter knife when there was no bread and butter.

“This is a butter knife,” she told Aesha, who, bless her, replied, “It’s not. It’s a fish knife.”

“Oh, she’s going to school me,” Neysla said, and that she was right about. Aesha told her—during dinner service!—”Yeah, I’ve worked in service a very long time, and that’s a fish knife. It’s ‘cuz fish is not supposed to be tough it’s supposed to be smooth, so it just cuts through.”

“Well, your caviar service sucked,” Neysla said, though that appeared to have been cut in from later, as she wasn’t talking to Aesha directly. This infuriated her: “I’m okay being wrong. It’s just…” she said, suggesting Aesha made a face, and then said, “I need to calm the fuck down.” Yes, it’s a knife.

In an interview, Aesha said, “I’ve got to stand up for myself at some point.” I am glad she did! But did we miss something, because again, insisting a knife is a different knife is not even in the same arena as some of the worst Below Deck guest treatment of crew.

After dinner, before bed, Mahisha declared she was hungry and wanted fish. Aesha said the chef was in bed, and that he’d prepared sandwiches. “I don’t eat sandwiches,” Mahisha said, which is hilarious and ridiculous.

She instead ordered some berries, and as Aesha prepared those, Mahisha decided to go to bed and fell down the stairs. The boat is fighting back.

The next morning, Jono laid out a huge breakfast spread, which sat for a few minutes while the guests took photos. When she arrived, Mahisha surveyed this and said, “I do want some berries.” LOL. Here are the ones from last night, kept fresh in the trash!

After breakfast, the guests went to the Temple of Aphaia, where I expected them to tell random Greek people that what they were seeing were not ancient ruins.

Of course, they actually just wanted another photo shoot. There was a pleasant moment of levity when the guests realized Ellie and Joe were flirting, and took pictures of Ellie kissing Joe. “The guests are picking up on the chemistry between us kind of validates what I’ve been sensing this entire time,” Ellie said.

In this episode’s sad puppy content, Gael told Nathan, “Please don’t turn out to be a dick,” and he said, “I won’t hurt you.”

And then Sandy’s girlfriend Leah texted her, “I need to talk to you about Bailey,” their dog, who died. Uh, content warning, please?! Sandy told us that her parents also died while she was sailing, so the dog’s death “brings up all your losses.”

Charter guest Mike, a former NBA player, told Captain Sandy, “Your staff that you have here, they’re really, really good—they’re top-notch.”

That was very nice! And then Sandy used that moment, for some reason, to deliver her TED Talk. “If you beat character down, you’re going to kill their spirit,” she began. “But if you’re gracious and you’re thankful, you’re going to build ’em up and they’re going to want to do more for you. I had a client that spent a million Euros on a charter; they were so rude to my crew, I pulled the primary in and I said, I’ll cancel your charter tomorrow…”

Mahisha said “oh!” and then downed her drink.

A person holding a drink and wearing sunglasses puts her hand to her chest in horror

“…if you treat my staff like that again,” Sandy continued. “They turned it around like that.” This is an amazing story, and also great that Sandy is sticking up for her crew. But where has this energy been for, I don’t know, every other charter ever?!

To have a bunch of rich white people on yachts acting like drunken, entitled, sometimes violent assholes for years and years, and then to finally draw a line when there’s a group of Black charter guests who—ask for a lot of drinks, want furniture rearranged, and don’t understand silverware? Not a good look.

“I’m, like, over this conversation,” Neysla said and left. In an interview, Sandy asked us, “Did I get my point across?” Apparently!

Meanwhile, Jono was preparing an “Asian fusion feast,” and described spending “a week in Ho Chi Minh City at a master chef’s farm” and cooking multiple times per day. Wait, this is Jono talking about learning about food , not his lack of food knowledge?! “The guests want some fancy shit and nothing says rich motherfucker like some duck for lunch,” he added. Oh there you are—welcome back, Jono. “We fancy out hererrr.” Okay, got it, Jono, that’s enough.

The guests loved it, and soon it was time for them to depart. On the dock, Mahisha praised Jono’s food, and then said, “to my love birds, I can’t wait to see what happens later … you know who you are.”

She added, “to all the other supporting crew, you were just phenonemal, so thank you. I don’ think we had any issues, did we?” Aesha said, “Were we on the same charter? … This is so confusing.” The guests tipped $20,000, so no issues there.

“I know this was a shit charter guest-wise,” Aesha told her stews. ” I want us to finish like this,” and they all held hands.

With all this happiness, what’s going to go wrong? Oh, Joe, of course. Exactly one charter after singing a song about hooking up with both Bri and Ellie , Joe said in the crew mess, “for fuck’s sake, what did I do? I don’t even want either of them,” Joe said. Bri came around the corner, they all got quiet, and Bri said, “that hurts me.” Then she cut their pants up and threw them in the ocean.

A few seconds later, Joe told Bri: “Honestly, I do care. I do.” Then Ellie asked him on a date, and he said yes. This guy. I’d call him a fuckboy but that’d be giving him too much credit.

Joe climbed behind Nathan on a jet ski—I could not make up a better image if I tried—and babbled a lot about liking Ellie but not wanting to date: “I’ve already said yes, but I don’t want to go on it.”

Two men on a jet ski that's on a ship's deck

As if the jet ski humping wasn’t enough bromance, Joe and Nathan sat for a joint interview when Nathan said, “Joe’s afraid to go on the date” and Joe said, “because I’m genuinely petrified of her.”

There may be some truth to that. Gael, who we know is the smartest one among them, said, “I feel like Ellie is the kind of girl, scorned, is going to burn the whole boat down.”

That may happen, as the cliffhanger was Ellie saying to Joe, “Sir, are you excited? … I am, like, ready to go.”

Joe sat on her bed and said, “Let’s talk. Um… I don’t want any strings attached. to be honest, I feel a lot of pressure, and I don’t want a date.” RIP motor yacht Mustique.

Those 2 female guests were pretty bad. Legends in their own minds.

But the men were awesome! I can’t wait to see Ellie’s reaction to him cancelling the date!

Okay, this:

“The guests’ demands began almost immediately. “The couches: it’d be great if they were gone,” the primary said. Does she want the deck crew to throw them overboard?”

made me laugh myself stupid! (which, admittedly, didn’t take much laughing… )

Since 2013, Below Deck has been captivating TV audiences across the globe by offering a voyeuristic peek into life on board multi-million dollar luxury charter yachts . Taking readers behind the scenes, YachtCharterFleet identifies the yachts featured on the show, as well as those which have appeared on the celebrated spin-off series Below Deck: Mediterranean , Below Deck: Sailing , Below Deck: Down Under and the latest iteration, Below Deck: Adventure .

Bravo’s hit reality TV series Below Deck chronicles the lives of crew members who work and reside aboard a luxury yacht during the charter season.

Each season features a different crew configuration, and the episodes show how the crew members interact and deal with personal issues alongside their working lives. The seasons are filmed over six weeks, with every episode featuring a new group of charter guests.

Getting even closer to these Below Deck superstars, we take a look at each of the stand-out features of every yacht that has appeared on the show.

Below Deck (US)

Many crew members are recurring on the show;  the longest-standing is Captain Lee Rosbach, who been on the show since 2013. A fan favourite, he has been at the helm of every yacht on Below Deck and seen a number of different crew formations.

The latest Below Deck season 10 is rumoured to be his final swan song, although his legacy on the show is such that whoever replaces him will have very big shoes to fill.

Among the crew members, Chief Stewardess Kate Chastain was an integral member of the team from season two to season seven. Alongside her, Chef Ben Robinson was a permanent fixture of the crew from season one to season four, before stepping out for season five.

Throughout the course of the show, the yachts have played an important role.

Hiring a Below Deck yacht will cost from €140,000 per week - and that price doesn't include expenses such as fuel. While some of the yachts were given an alias over the course of filming, their real names can now be revealed below; as well as the exact cost to rent them.

The largest yacht in the show's history, the 10th and 11th seasons of Below Deck  are set around the Caribbean islands of St Lucia  and Grenada onboard the luxurious 60m (197ft) superyacht ST DAVID . Delivered in 2008 by Italian shipyard Benetti, the yacht has an impressive sleek, supercar-inspired profile that instantly turns heads.

Onboard highlights include her well-appointed sundeck with sunloungers and sunpads where guests can kick back and relax, a spa pool and her al fresco cinema screen set up for unforgettable movie nights.

One of the yacht's most distinctive features is her sophisticated spiral staircase that leads through all three decks and is lit by a skylight in the spa pool of the sun deck. The yacht is very versatile for a variety of charter party configurations, with room for 12 guests across six elegantly appointed cabins.

After filming the series, M/Y STAR DIAMOND was sold for an asking price of $10.9 million and is now on the charter market with a charter rate of $160,000/week. Extensively refit in 2022, the work on the superyacht has included a complete interior refresh, the yacht now features light, modern styling - an engine rebuild and a cabin conversion.

HONOR (aka BARENTS )

Superyacht charter yacht BARENTS

The first season of Below Deck premiered on 1 July 2013 after being announced in April 2012. Chartering around the Caribbean , the starring superyacht was named HONOR for the show but chartered under the name CUOR DI LEONE which translates to ‘Lion Heart’ in Italian. She now goes by the name BARENTS .

Built by Italian shipyard Benetti in 1999 and refit in 2021, the famous vessel has undergone a complete makeover, bringing her up to modern standards. She can accommodate up to 12 charter guests and features luxury amenities for guests to enjoy including state-of-the-art TVs and a sundeck Jacuzzi.

Following the show, superyacht BARENTS was sold for around $15 million and her new owner commissioned a major refit. A great deal of money was spent on updating her interior with a classic-modern style of design as well as on brand-new exterior furniture and entertainment systems.

IONIAN PRINCESS

Ionain Princess season 1 Below Deck Mediterranean

Premiering on 3 May 2016, the very first season of Below Deck: Mediterranean , a spin-off of the increasingly popular franchise, took to viewers' screens. This time the ‘yachties’ took care of their guests onboard the motor yacht IONIAN PRINCESS  in the Mediterranean  destination of Greece .

The starring yacht IONIAN PRINCESS was delivered from Christensen in 2005 and was later refit in 2016 and again in 2021. Truly opulent, she bears interiors that are sleekly finished with a range of warmly toned woods and plenty of comfortable furnishings. She also boasts one of the largest sundecks for a yacht of her size.

Below Deck: Mediterranean Season 1 yacht IONIAN PRINCESS is not currently available for private yacht charter vacations.

Below Deck: Sailing Yacht

This is the first time the Below Deck franchise branched away from gleaming motor yachts, with the various weather issues that sailing yachts have to contend with adding even more drama and excitement.

The design of luxury sailing yachts  also creates far more confined crew areas than we are used to seeing on the original Below Deck . In general, sailing yachts tend to feature smaller galleys, compact stew stations and cramped crew quarters which are in closer proximity to the guests’ living areas, putting crew under increased pressure to deliver their signature silver service.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3

In addition, deck crew are placed in a far more demanding role, with sailing yachts requiring increased accuracy and precision to safely maneuver and plenty of deck duties taking place in the midst of guest areas.

‘Below Deck Med’s Captain Sandy Is Focusing on All the Wrong Things After Season 9

The Big Picture

  • Season 9 of Below Deck Med featured an incompetent crew making more errors than previous seasons, causing Captain Sandy to intervene.
  • Captain Sandy gave many opportunities to the crew even when they showed poor performance and clashing attitudes.
  • Captain Sandy ended her feud with ex-coworker Hannah Ferrier and made coincidental public appearances, raising suspicions of a likability-focused distraction.

The poor performance of the crew from Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9 may have caused Captain Sandy Yawn to focus on all the wrong yachting aspects to become more likable. Having inexperienced crew members on Below Deck is a common phenomenon , but the Season 9 staff seemed to have made more mistakes than any other previous cast members . Although Bosun Iain MacClean has over five years yachting experience, he struggled charter after charter with basic docking maneuvers. He also made questionable decisions that hindered Captain Sandy's ability to provide a smooth sailing vacation. While most of the deckhand team also showed poor judgment, so did the interior team.

This season, the interior team welcomed two new members and their lack of experience was evident. While the first stewardess, Aesha Scott, was on her A-game , the rest of the stews couldn't get along or launder the whites properly. Despite the poor performance and clashing attitudes, Captain Sandy gave second, third, and fourth chances. The season is clearly plummeting, with both the interior and exterior crews lacking, but off-screen, Captain Sandy is on damage control. Instead of admitting her own misdoings or acknowledging the lessons she needs to learn, it seems like she's trying to distract fans and viewers by seeming more likable in the public eye. Although many Captains and crew members try to connect with fans outside traditional reality TV methods, the timing of Captain Sandy's escapades is raising suspicions throughout the Below Deck franchise.

Below Deck Mediterranean

Not available

In a luxury charter yacht traveling across the Mediterranean, crew members face both the challenges of managing upscale guest expectations and the complexities of their own interrelationships. Each episode highlights the high-octane world of yachting where exceptional service standards meet personal drama and adventure.

Captain Sandy Gave Her Crew Many Chances

Inexperienced yachties, silly mistakes, and firings are expected in every Below Deck series . Some stars have the skills and knowledge or appeared on the franchise previously, so they often have the upper hand . However, the opposite could also be argued, which appeared to be the case for Captain Sandy and her Season 9 crew. The latest season of the Below Deck Mediterranean started rocky as Chef Johnathan Shillingford performed terribly in the beginning episodes. He neglected the preference sheets and created dishes not up to par with the seven-star service required for yachting. Bosun Iain was also an issue, since he had a habit of making tough calls without consulting the team of Captain Sandy. Then there are the issues between second stew Ellie Dubiach and third stew Bri Miller .

Unfortunately, though, their ability to put discrepancies aside and focus on work came to an end after they both were interested in the same deckhand, Joe Bradley . Despite being spoken to and warned, the women still butted heads, interfering with the charter season and causing Captain Sandy to step in and smooth over the situation . Compared to previous seasons , it's obvious that Captain Sandy is struggling with an incompetent crew that's affecting the charter and its guests. However, she also chooses to let situations get out of control and let the second hands figure it out for themselves before stepping in. As a result, Captain Sandy has received a lot of backlash this season; Captain Sandy, who's otherwise known for her stern demeanor, seemed to be giving way too many chances. The crew was suffering. The charters were suffering. And, as a result, so was the Captain's reputation.

Captain Sandy Ended Her Feud With Ex-Coworker Hannah Ferrier

Despite receiving multiple chances, Captain Sandy's crew still wasn't up to par. While Chef Jono seemed to find his stride and make up for his past mistakes, the same couldn't be said of the other crew members. Ellie and Bri were still at each other's throats, and Sandy reached her breaking point with Iain, finally cutting him loose from the team. However, her actions may have come too late in the season, forcing her to be creative off-screen. In real-time, Captain Sandy made amends with a previous crew member, Hannah Ferrier . Ferrier left the series Season 5 when Malia White discovered that the long-term Chief Stew had valium and a CBD pen on board without proof of a prescription.

However, when Captain Sandy learned about the drugs in her quarters, she made the controversial decision to fire the stewardess. Since then, the two have been on frigid terms, or at least that's how they appeared. According to Sandy, though, she never had any ill will towards any cast members. She claimed she "cared about Hannah" and that she hoped the stewardess was "listening." To show her sincerity, she even reached out to the stewardess to apologize. While Sandy's sentiments might be true, and she might have harbored no ill will towards Hannah, the timing of her apology is suspicious. With Sandy receiving backlash and poor performance reviews, her appeal seems like a tactic to distract viewers and appear more likable.

This Key Thing Separates ‘Below Deck’s Best Spin-Off From the Franchise

Not everyone has what it takes to be a yachtie.

Captain Sandy Is Making Public Appearances

Another sign of the Captain's potential damage control tactics is the recent public appearances she made. In the Captain's defense, she's always tried to maintain a positive spotlight in the public eye. Captain Sandy is a renowned public speaker, known to motivate women in male-dominated industries. She's also not a force to be reckoned with, as she's a huge advocate of not accepting no for an answer if it means accomplishing her goals. However, the Captain has gone above and beyond this year, making appearances at some of the world's most important gatherings . On Instagram , she shared a series of photos of her time at the Olympics.

She appeared to be having a lovely time “meeting new people” and could be seen with Chrissy Teigen , John Legend , and her wife, Leah Shafer . In a later post, the Captain could be seen walking through the opening ceremony with her wife and then afterward she showcased her collaboration Q&A with the Olympics. Although Sandy is a renowned public speaker and figure, the timing of these posts and collaborations is a little suspicious. With the rumors swirling around about her crew's poor performance, the posts appear to be a common "smoke and mirror" tactic . Instead of letting viewers soak up the drama from the season, the Captain is trying to turn the viewers' attention to current-day affairs.

In the end, these instances may all be coincidences. The Captain is known for marching to the beat of her own drum and doesn't usually care about how the public perceives her — as long as she stays true to herself. Considering the Olympics schedule was set in stone before the Below Deck season aired, this suggests that the timing was probably a coincidence. Furthermore, the Captain and Hannah developed a solid relationship in their earlier seasons, so it's possible that Sandy genuinely felt bad about their falling out. Additionally, even if these are smoke and mirror tactics, the truth is that it wouldn't work because a true fan would still do a deep dive to get the answers they desire. However, it still cannot be denied the timing of squashing the feud she had with a previous worker and the public appearance at the Olympics is suspicious , and she might be focused on the wrong things after a particularly grueling season.

What happened to Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5? Here’s what we know

Captain Glenn Shephard Below Deck Sailing Yacht cast photo

What happened to Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5? That’s the question on fans’ minds after it was revealed Below Deck Med Season 9 will air following Below Deck Season 11.

Ever since Below Deck Sailing Yacht premiered on Bravo, it has followed the OG show.

That’s the way it’s been for the past four years, except for last year when Below Deck Down Under Season 2 aired after Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

So why all of a sudden is there a switch in the schedule, especially since Below Deck Med Season 8 just ended in January?

Let’s take a look at what we know.

What happened to Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5?

The reason for the change-up likely has to do with the sexual misconduct allegations that came out against Gary King after Season 5 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht was filmed.

Leaked photos revealed that Daisy Kelliher and Gary were back for another stint aboard Parsifal III with Captain Glenn. The two of them returning was music to fans’ ears as they helped make Below Deck Sailing Yacht a huge success with Colin MacRae.

However, a couple of weeks later, news broke that a member of the production team came out via Rolling Stone to accuse Gary of unwanted sexual advances and harassment. Gary was soon removed from the BravoCon 2023 list, making clear Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 could be in trouble.

Unlike when Peter Hunziker was fired by Bravo for a racist post and then edited out of the season, Gary has not been fired from the show. Plus, editing Gary out really wouldn’t be an option because he plays such a pivotal role and makes a good story even if fans don’t like him.

All of this means that what would have been Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 could be scrapped. Should that be the case, a new season of the sailing show won’t air for a long time.

Then again, maybe the powers that be are still trying to figure out how to save the season with Gary, and they just need more time.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans share thoughts on schedule change

A Reddit thread devoted to the Below Deck Med and Below Deck Sailing Yacht swap had fans buzzing.

“I would absolutely be okay with a delay if it means not having to watch Gary. I’m not sure I’ll even watch if he’s on it, especially since Colin isn’t. And Glenn the enabler has went from being best captain to #3 now…,” wrote one user.

Another admitted to liking the sailing show with Daisy but could do without Gary and would be fine if Season 5 never aired.

“AS IT SHOULD BE. Bravo needs to learn- you hire racists, you hire sexual abusers, you’re going to lose money. The end.” was another remark.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Reddit comments

A different user doesn’t think the season will air and noticed Daisy switched her Instagram bio, so that may be a clue that Season 5 will never see the light of day. There was also speculation that Below Deck spin-offs will soon be combined for money reasons.

“That is a possibility or they’re still editing the heck out of it to reduce his role as much as possible but that has got to be a monumental task. I doubt they’d scrub an entire season but maybe more things have come out behind the scenes we’re unaware of and they have to do what they have to do especially with all the negative publicity they’re getting with Andy Cohen lately.” declared another user.

More Below Deck Sailing Yacht comments

Along with Below Deck Sailing Yacht being pushed back, Below Deck Down Under fate seems to be up in the air. As Monsters and Critics previously reported, Captain Jason Chambers asked for fans’ help with Season 3.

Be sure to keep checking back for more news on th e Below Deck franchise.

Below Deck Med Season 9 premieres on Monday, June 3 at 9/8c on Bravo. Below Deck Sailing Yacht is currently on hiatus on Bravo.

20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now

Gary king has ruined below deck sailing yacht's future (it will never be the same), 90 day fiancé: is jasmine's rumored new boyfriend dating her for money (she's not the sugar baby anymore).

  • Gary King, a former cast member of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, is facing sexual misconduct allegations stemming from an incident during filming in 202
  • He has developed a bad reputation due to his playboy antics, questionable leadership, and pot-stirring behavior on the show.
  • Below Deck production is being criticized for allegedly trying to cover up Gary's bad behavior by allowing him to continue on the show and not holding him accountable.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht alum Gary King is at the forefront of sexual misconduct allegations that have several layers to them. Gary has been the First Officer to Captain Glenn Shephard on Parsifal III since Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2. His playboy antics, questionable leadership, and pot-stirring behavior have been traits he is most known for.

34-year-old Gary is from South Africa and has 13 years of experience in the yachting industry. Every season he's been on Below Deck Sailing Yacht , Gary has claimed he is looking to settle down and find a partner. However, his conduct and attitude have been far from that projection. Gary has been at the center of many boatmances over the years and caused drama among his fellow crew. Known for being childish and self-serving, Gary has developed a bad reputation that seems to worsen.

Reality TV is more popular than ever. With so many to choose from, here are some of the best reality TV shows to stream or watch right now.

Why Was Gary King Accused Of Sexual Misconduct?

Gary had an incident with below deck's makeup artist.

Gary has been accused by Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 makeup artist Samantha Suarez of sexual misconduct stemming from an incident that allegedly occurred during filming in the summer of 2022. Samantha was tasked with escorting cast members to and from their rooms for production in between interview segments. She also kept the crew isolated before and after the interviews.

Samantha claimed that she brought a boozed-up Gary back to his hotel room following filming for a confessional interview. Gary had been in isolation after a positive COVID-19 diagnosis kept him from joining the crew. Per Rolling Stone , Samantha stated Gary "was behaving erratically" and eventually grabbed her from behind and physically restrained her from leaving before she was able to get away. Samantha stated that production never limited Gary's alcohol consumption. Samantha worked on previous seasons of Below Deck , including Below Deck season 10, where she accused Bosun Ross McHarg of making inappropriate comments toward her.

Below Deck Is Being Criticized For An Alleged Cover-Up

No accountability is being taken.

Below Deck production issued a statement about the incident. They remarked, " Bravo is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful workplace for cast and crew...We require our third-party production companies to have appropriate workplace policies and trainings in place...The concerns Ms. Suarez raised in July 2022 were investigated at that time and action was taken based on the findings." However, Below Deck is now being criticized for not holding Gary accountable for his actions and allegedly trying to cover his bad behavior up by letting him continue on.

Gary Responded To (And Then Deleted) Comments About The Allegations

Gary doesn't think he did anything wrong.

On August 24, 2023, per US Weekly , Gary took to Instagram in the comments section of one of his posts to defend himself. When responding to a supporter about the allegations, Gary wrote a pointed response.

"It’s so weird, it’s also so far from the truth. She always wanted a platform and unfortunately I’m the unlucky target." Gary continued, "I’m not going to let some lying girl get to me… read that article fully, multiple times, and this happened to her on multiple seasons … seems odd."

Gary probably knows his comments were inappropriate since he chose to delete them.

Gary May Continue to Be in the Below Deck Spotlight

Gary filmed bdsy season 5.

Bravo 's Below Deck production seems unfazed by Gary's behavior because they perpetuated his bad behavior by having him return for Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5. However, Gary was supposed to attend BravoCon in 2023 but was pulled from the event following the blowback. So far, that's the only real consequence he's had. The Below Deck production team stepped in during Below Deck Down Under season 2 and removed the fourth wall when the filming crew stopped Luke Jones after he tried to get in bed naked with a drunken and unconsenting Margot Sisson. However, they seem to be dismissing Gary's alleged misconduct and history of impropriety.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht was filmed in August 2023, and it should have aired after Below Deck season 11, given the usual schedule that the Below Deck franchise follows. But what happened was Below Deck Med season 8 finished airing in January 2024, and instead of BDSY premiering after Below Deck season 11, Below Deck Med season 9 premiered in early May 2024, which meant that BDSY was skipped over in the lineup entirely. This means a lot for the future of Below Deck Sailing Yacht .

BDSY season 5 was likely either scratched entirely, or the network is trying to edit Gary out as much as possible. If the first option is true, that means Gerry's misconduct allegations greatly affected his future in the franchise. Having to make an entire new season would be very costly for the network, but it would show that they are taking the pushback about Gary seriously. If that latter option were true, they would likely have to do a lot of editing, which would be time-consuming and take away greatly from the entertainment value of the season.

The only Below Deck franchise alum to seemingly take Gary's side in all this drama has been his friend, hook-up buddy, and BDSY Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher. Daisy recently made an Instagram post with Gary in it, and the pair seemed as smitten and friendly as ever. Gary's fate in the franchise seems bleak after the allegations, and he probably won't be able to come back from them. Despite that, Below Deck Sailing Yacht is a massively popular show that likely will not get canceled altogether.

Below Deck Mediterranean airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EDT on Bravo and is available to stream the following day on Peacock.

Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9, Episode 12 Recap: Managing the Medicane

Welcome to the  Below Deck Mediterranean  Season 9, Episode 12 recap! In this week’s episode, called “The Perfect Storm,” Joe breaks his date with Ellie. Bri pumps the brakes when she realizes he’s just playing with both of them, and Nathan takes Gael rock-climbing. There’s a leak in the forward crew cabin, as a huge Medicane storm keeps the boat on the dock. Here are some of the highlights from Below Deck Med Season 9, Episode 12.

Joe Bradley backs out of the date with Elena Dubiach on Below Deck Mediterranean

Picking up from where we left off last week, Joe is explaining to Ellie that he really doesn’t want to go on a date with her, even though he already said yes.

“It’s just too much pressure,” he explains. “I don’t want to date.”

Even though she says she just wanted to get to know him better, she assures Joe that it’s all fine. They don’t have to go on a date.

Whew! Joe is relieved, but it remains to be seen how Ellie’s going to handle this unexpected disappointment.

After Joe leaves her cabin, Ellie interviews, “He liked me enough to make out with me a few days ago. But now you don’t like me enough to get to know me as a person and talk to me?”

“I can understand why some spiders eat their mate after mating,” she adds.

After overhearing Joe explaining his feelings to Nathan, Gael says, “Joe is being a little bit of a d*ck. He is choosing what he wants when he wants it, without considering how it affects the girls. It’s just not nice anymore. I’m losing respect for Joe in that sense.”

Surprisingly, Bri takes Ellie’s side, too. “I’m not surprised that Joe said no [to the date],” she says. “But he should have said no first, instead of saying yes. I feel sorry for Ellie. This is what annoys me: he’ll start something, but he’ll never finish it.”

Bri Muller sees Joe Bradley’s true colors

Ellie and Bri have a sit down after dinner. Bri apologizes “for the whole Joe thing.”

“Honestly, he really hurt my feelings today,” Ellie responds.

“He’s playing with both of us,” Bri says. “I think he likes chasing.” Bri calls him “a flea” that hops back and forth but is of no consequence.

But when Bri goes to the loo, Joe follows her and starts “chasing” again. “Hellooooooo!” he says flirtatiously.

“Oh, God!” Bri mutters to herself, sounding really drunk.

“Why did your face drop when you seen me?” Joe asks her.

“You picked a side,” she says. “Don’t give me the eyes.”

“I only give you the eyes,” he flirts, “because you’re giving me these eyes, man. And you know how to work them eyes.”

“F*ck off,” she answers. “I want to hook up with you so bad.”

So he goes into the bathroom stall with her, and you can hear him say, “Find a position. Get your f*cking skirt up.” They’ve forgotten they’re miked, and we can hear everything.

When he claims he doesn’t know what he’s doing, Bri adds, “Then I’ll make the decision, if you don’t know. I’m not having this. For real. If you can’t be a man, I will be.” And with that, she kicks him out of her bathroom stall. Good job, Bri.

“In every way possible, Joe is not good for me,” Bri interviews. “It’s feeding into my impulsiveness. It’s not making me a good human.”

When it’s time to go back to the boat, Joe and Bri are sitting at opposite ends of the van’s bench seat. She’s as far away from him as she can get.

“Bri, I’m sorry,” Joe says.

“Whatever,” she replies as he helps her out of the van.

Nathan makes a date

After dinner, Nathan finally makes his move with Gael. He asks if she’d like to “get off the boat and just do something fun tomorrow?”

“Are we allowed to do that?” she wonders. He says he’ll ask permission from Iain.

The whole time they’re talking, I can’t keep my eyes off the Acropolis in the background, all lit up at night. It’s gorgeous!

The next morning, Nathan asks Captain Sandy if he could get permission to take Gael off the boat “to do a wee activity” in the afternoon. “I’ve been enjoying her company, so I just thought it would be nice if we could get off the boat and have a little distraction.”

Sandy’s a sucker for love, cause she says sure without hesitation. “Of course,” she smiles. “Enjoy yourself. As long as the work is completed.”

They go to a rock-climbing facility later that afternoon. Nathan is suddenly afraid of heights, but Gael is a natural. She scrambles up the wall and rappels down without any problem.

They have a wonderful time and return to the boat happy.

Taking on water

At the preference meeting for the next charter, Sandy tells Aesha, Jono, and Iain that the weather is going to be bad tomorrow. They’re not going to be able to get off the dock for at least the first day. The wind’s going to blow at 40+ knots.

“In the States, this would be called a hurricane,” Sandy interviews. “Since we’re in the Med, it’s called a ‘Medicane.’ High winds, lots of rain.” She’s hoping the weather will move through quickly, and they can get off the dock the second day.

The rain begins with a vengeance just as the provisions arrive. When Sandy’s down in the crew mess, she hears water dripping. Turns out it’s in the forward cabin (I thought she was going to get that fixed?).

Somehow Sandy determines that the water is coming from the bosun’s locker, which is just above the forward cabin. When she goes to check it out, she discovers, “We’re taking on water.”

If the boat takes on too much water, it could sink. “We can’t go to sea if we’re taking on water,” she says.

Apparently, the bosun’s locker is full of water. Sandy radios the chief engineer and tells him the windows and doors are all closed, as is the hatch. She doesn’t know where the water is coming from. He says he’ll be right there.

He discovers that a plug has popped off a water line and is spewing water. The good part is that they finally figured out why the forward cabin was leaking. Sandy pulls out the wet mattress and says to get some fans into the cabin to dry it out.

Water, water everywhere on Below Deck Mediterranean

Since they won’t be able to leave the dock, Jono is planning some really fancy food to distract the guests. As they’re enjoying their snacks and drinks at the bar, Sandy breaks the bad news that they won’t be leaving the dock today.

“You would hate me and be scared for your life,” she tells them.

To make up for not being able to take the boat off the dock, Aesha has plans to take them to one of Athens’ oldest wineries for winetasting. It’s 17 kilometers away. Will they make it in the pouring rain?

As the guests leave with Aesha to go winetasting, Sandy checks on the weather again. “30 inches of rain today?” she says. What?! Is that even possible? I live in California. We don’t get that much in a year.

As the guests are rethinking their winery outing and the deck crew is frantically trying to get the deck cushions out of the rain, suddenly an alarm goes off.

“I think we’re leaking again,” Sandy says in dismay. “Oh, this is bad.”

She sends Iain to check if the forward cabin is still leaking. He climbs up into the infrastructure. We can’t see him, but we can hear him swearing, “Oh, f*ck!”

Whatever it is, it can’t be good. But we won’t know until next week, because they leave us hanging. Damn you, show!

Below Deck Mediterranean  airs Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo.

'Below Deck Med' Season 9: 5 reasons Joe Bradley is biggest villain amid love triangle drama

ATHENS, GREECE: Joe Bradley exhibited villainous behavior throughout 'Below Deck Mediterranean' Season 9 . His involvement in a tumultuous love triangle with Bri Muller and Elena “Ellie” Dubaich created significant drama among the crew. After spending the season juggling his relationships with both women, it became evident that Joe, the lead deckhand, was the primary antagonist of Season 9. The dramatic love triangle involving Elena, Bri, and Joe aboard the mega-yacht Mustique has not gone unnoticed by their colleagues, who are now starting to weigh in with their opinions.

In the recent episode, Gael Cameron shared her perspective on the unfolding situation after witnessing Joe explain to Nathan Gallagher why he declined a date with Elena, despite having initially agreed. While snacking on chips, Gael conveyed her thoughts through expressive facial reactions before heading to Ellie's bunk for a deeper conversation. Gael asked Elena if she was okay, and she replied that she was. "I'm numb to everything at this point. It's like the first time I've invited somebody on a date and he just shuts me down. [ ... ] I'm like, bro. We're just having a drink and talking. It's not that serious," Elena said.  After observing the situation from an outside perspective, Gael formed an opinion. "Joe is being a little bit of a dick. He is choosing what he wants when he wants it without considering how it affects the girls. It's just not nice anymore, so I'm losing respect for Joe in that sense," Gael shared in a confessional.

'Below Deck Med' star Joe Bradley misled both Bri Muller and Elena Dubaich

Joe's most villainous trait in 'Below Deck Med' season 9 stems from his involvement in a complicated love triangle with Elena and Bri. At the season's outset, both stews found him attractive and showed interest. Bri ended up hooking up with Joe in the hot tub first, even though Elena had already expressed her desire for a boatmance with him.  After discovering their hook-up, Elena began treating Bri differently and used her position as a second stew to foster a toxic work environment.

Joe was aware that both Elena and Bri were interested in him and enjoyed the attention they provided. He openly stated that he wouldn’t choose between the two, a remark that came off as inconsiderate, especially on camera. The rivalry between Elena and Bri intensified due to their shared interest in Joe, who remained indifferent about which of them he became intimate with. Joe did not take responsibility for their conflict and only fueled it by continuing to flirt with and hook up with both women, fully aware of their feelings.

'Below Deck Med' star Joe Bradley made an inappropriate song about their love triangle

Joe, a deckhand with a passion for performing, created an awkward moment on 'Below Deck Med' Season 9 by singing a cringe-worthy song about the stews. Later in the season, while Elena was busy setting up a pillow fort, Joe was supposed to be singing for the guests.

Unaware that Elena was in the room, Joe sang about his love triangle with Elena and Bri to Iain and Nathan, asking, "Who's it going to be?" Ellie responded with a sarcastic "Nice song," catching Joe off guard. In his confessional, Joe seemed regretful, likely because he got caught. He apologized to Elena during the crew's day off, but his actions still came off as immature. Joe was trying to dramatize his love triangle for the cameras but was humbled by Elena's reaction.

'Below Deck Med' deckhand Joe Bradley dishes on his true intentions with Elena Dubaich (Bravo)

'Below Deck Med' star Joe Bradley caused a feud between Bri Muller and Elena Dubaich

Elena and Bri's conflict began because of Joe, the lead deckhand. Entering the season with hopes of making friends and improving his skills, Joe quickly caught the attention of the stews, who found him attractive.

Boatmances are common in 'Below Deck', and Joe likely felt flattered by the attention from two women. Although he mishandled his relationships, he performed well as a deckhand. Captain Sandy saw no reason to dismiss him based on his work performance, though he could have managed his issues more effectively.

'Below Deck Med' deckhand Joe Bradley made shady remarks about bosun Iain Maclean

Joe made negative comments about Bosun Iain Maclean , who had appointed him as his right-hand man shortly after they first met, bypassing the usual promotion process for existing deckhands. This decision did not sit well with Captain Sandy .

Over the season, Iain made several mistakes, often leaving the deck team to manage tasks like setting up beach activities and organizing games for guests on their own. Despite his elevated position, Joe's negativity toward Iain cast a shadow on his image.

'Below Deck Med' star Joe Bradley seemingly gets cozy with new stew Carrie O’Neill

It's uncertain how Joe's romantic entanglement with Elena and Bri will unfold, but the season still has much to offer. The mid-season trailer revealed that Carrie O’Neill would be joining as a new stew. For most of Season 9, Aesha, Elena, and Bri managed without additional help due to a leak in one of Mustique's cabins. When Captain Sandy Yawn proposed adding another stew, the chief stew eagerly agreed.

Carrie is expected to provide significant help to the interior team, but the trailer hints that she may bring more drama. Given Joe's previous issues with the interior department, it looks like he becomes involved with Carrie, potentially escalating tensions further.

The trailer shows the new stew and lead deckhand getting cozy after a night out, openly flirting in front of the crew. Elena and Bri had a rocky start after the third stew's encounter with Joe, so their reactions to his involvement with another stew are unpredictable. If Joe pursues a relationship with Carrie, it would mean he's had romantic ties with all the stews except Aesha.

Here Are All Of The Filming Locations In Below Deck Mediterranean History

From sailing around the Greek islands to coasting in Croatia, Captain Sandy Yawn and crew have been places.

below deck med season 5 yacht

When the  Below Deck Mediterranean  crew is sailing around the Mediterranean with Captain Sandy Yawn at the helm, they are bound to make port in some gorgeous locations.

How to Watch

Watch Below Deck Mediterranean  on Mondays at 9/8c and next day on  Peacock . Catch up on the Bravo app .

Each season brings a different group of crew members together in a brand new location on yet another mega yacht. Whether they're exploring the Greek islands with charter guests, trying to set up a picnic on the windy coast of Croatia, or dealing with difficult guests in the South of France, the crew members are always prepared to deal with what is given to them. And being able to hang out in a gorgeous locale between charters certainly doesn't hurt, either.

But these locations are not chosen at random . In 2020, the  New York Times  reported that a suitable location for filming each season offers "easy access to a major airport", a "robust network of local suppliers able to continuously outfit the yacht with perishables like ice and fresh meat," and "be a place that will look beautiful on TV."

When it comes to the Mediterranean, it's seems like it'd be hard for there  not  to be a beautiful location. Read on to live out all of your yachting fantasies.

Season 1: The Greek Islands

Below Deck Mediterranean Season 1 took place in the Greek Islands.

Season 1 of  Below Deck Med kicked off on the coast of Greece  — and, more specifically, the Greek Islands. This debut season of the  Below Deck  spinoff was the franchise's   first time venturing to the Mediterranean even though, as one of the cast members stated in the introduction to the first episode of Season 1, "the Mediterranean is the hub of yachting."

This gave charter guests the opportunity to explore all of the gorgeous locations. "We have Mykonos to the north, Santorini to the south," the late Captain Mark Howard said in Season 1. "Every time we drop anchor it will be some place different for them."

And that is exactly what charter guests did aboard the  M/Y  Ionian Princess  in the debut season. Although the crew — including  Below Deck Med  mainstay, chief steward Hannah Ferrier — were a bit Americanized, they were still able to manage. After throwing a hoedown and coming up with a way for charter guests to make s'mores in Greece, the crew members still got to enjoy the crystal blue waters that the Greek islands had to offer.

Season 2: Croatia

Below Deck Med season 2 takes place in Croatia.

Captain Sandy's debut season found her controlling the  M/Y Sirocco  on the Adriatic Sea along the coast of Croatia, primarily along the Dalmatian coast.

"Croatia is the Mediterranean's hidden gem. It has like, hundreds of islands," said one crew member in Season 2, Episode 1. "Everything about this place is just gorgeous," added another.

But Captain Sandy's first season wasn't entirely full of smooth sailing. Captain Sandy and returning chief steward Hannah were at odds after Hannah allegedly  kissed a charter guest behind closed doors and continued to stay in contact with the person, breaking one of Captain Sandy's biggest rules.

RELATED: Here's What Hannah Ferrier Has Been Up To Since Below Deck Mediterranean

In spite of the conflict, the crew still ended up loving Captain Sandy for her fantastic personality and impeccable leadership skills. "She's easy going, she's funny, and she's so laid back," deckhand Max Hagley said. "I mean, if she was any more laid back, she'd fall over."

Season 3: Italy

Below Deck Season 3 took place in Italy.

Captain Sandy returned for good in Season 3 of  Below Deck Med, this time aboard the  M/Y Talisman Maiton , sailing around coastal Italy in the "biggest yacht" that she had ever captained.

"You can't help but think of Italy as the most romantic place in the world," one crew member said in Season 3, Episode 1. "Naples is a big super yacht marina," Captain Sandy added. "Lovely anchorages: Capri, Ischia, Positano."

Hannah and Chef Adam Glick were the only returning crew members this season, but that didn't stop the crew from mostly working well together. Lead deckhand  João Franco hit it off with second and third stews , Brooke Laughton and Kasey Cohen , but found himself clashing with Hannah  due to their different personalities.

Season 4: France

Below Deck Med season 5 takes place in France.

Below Deck Med  took to the south of France for the first time in Season 4, aboard the M/Y Sirocco  first seen in Season 2. And this updated location brought a new bout of charter guests and crew members alike. "South of France is a playground for the wealthiest people in the world," one crew member said during Episode 1.

"You have Cannes, St. Tropez, Nice, and Monaco," Captain Sandy added. "It's where everyone shows off. Look at me. Look how big my boat is."

Hannah, for one, was looking forward to docking in a new country . "The South of France is my home away from home," she said. "I actually discovered it when I was traveling around Europe with my mom. I went home and put into Google, 'what can I do speaking English in the South of France' and yachting came up and voilà."

In spite of being in her happy place, Hannah and Captain Sandy found themselves in a tiff when Sandy wasn't pleased with Hannah 's level of service, which she claimed had been declining all season. But despite their issues, coupled with a change in chef midway through the charter, the crew  — even Hannah and Sandy — were able to end on good terms.

Season 5: Spain

Season 5 had the  M/Y Wellington  cruising in the ever-so-desirable location off the island of Mallorca, Spain.

"Mallorca is literally one of the most beautiful islands in the Mediterranean," Hannah, back for her fifth season as Chief Steward, told cameras in Episode 1. "The anchorages are stunning. The waters are second to none."

But this was also a season for the history books. Why? Because for the first time, Captain Sandy had a female bosun , Malia White , putting women in all of the positions of leadership, and   it was officially the "biggest boat" that Captain Sandy had ever steered (take that, Season 3). How is that for some girl power?

But in typical  Below Deck Med  fashion, things had to go wrong. The first charter got a little complicated when Hannah found herself in  conflict with her second stew , Lara Flumiani , and Malia felt like she wasn't being respected  by her deck crew. Later on in the season, Captain Sandy found that Hannah was in possession of medication that she wasn't prescribed, making her too much of a risk to go to sea. She then asked Hannah to leave the ship for good.

Season 6: Croatia

Below Deck Med Season 6 takes place in Croatia.

After a rocky season in Season 5, Season 6 started off on a high with a brand new chief stew , Katie Flood , returning bosun  Malia, and Captain Sandy's second time yachting in Croatia — this time docking the  M/Y Lady Michelle  in Šibenik.

Malia, personally, was happy to be back. "It's actually a crazy feeling being back in Croatia, because the last time I was here, I was a green deckie," she said in Episode 1 of Season 6, referring to her first appearance on Below Deck Med  in Season 2. "It was the opportunities that Captain Sandy gave me that made me want to stick with yachting."

Captain Sandy was also very happy to be back. "Being back here on the Dalmatian coast, based in Šibenik, it's more nature, country, small village. I love that."

Of course, this season was not without its fair share of excitement. Captain Sandy got to officiate her first a wedding on ship, in between trying to calm down  an injured chef , managing a very "green" deck crew , and navigating a massive rain storm. Hey, no one said charter season would be a walk in the park.

Season 7: Malta

Below Deck Med Season 7 takes place in Malta.

This season found Captain Sandy in her first time ever in Malta and it's safe to say that it was exciting for her. "Malta is a small country off the coast of Sicily," Captain Sandy said in Season 7 Episode 1. "It has so many different influences. Arabic, Italian, Spanish. It's a little piece of paradise that hasn't been discovered by the super yacht industry."

In addition to being in a new place, Captain Sandy was dealing with an all new crew — chief steward, Natasha Webb , head chef, Dave White , and bosun, Raygan Tyler .

"This season for me, it's a new place, a new boat, with new department heads," Captain Sandy said in the first episode. (This was the recipe for either a great charter season aboard the  M/Y Home  or a terrifying one.) "Challenge accepted," she said.

But this new location did give way to new difficulties. Captain Sandy had to deal with hiring a new bosun after a major error was made and had to hire extra deckhands and an extra stew to help pick up some slack. Still, she managed to make do, and the charter season was completed successfully.

Season 8: Italy

Below Deck Med Season 8 takes place in Italy.

Captain Sandy was already very familiar with Season 8's location in Genoa, Italy: She previously lived there for a year and had come to know the lay of the land before climbing aboard M/Y Mustique  in Season 8. "Genoa's one of the busiest ports in Europe," she said in Episode 1.

"It's beautiful. It is the Italian Riviera," she added. "You have all these amazing places you can drop anchor. It's an epic experience."

And what an experience it has been so far this season. Not only did the chief stew and second stew get caught up in customs ahead of the first charter, Captain Sandy's bosun, Ruan Irving , had incorrect paperwork, leading her to have to assign Luka Brunton as bosun at the last minute.

In spite of these changes, the scenery has been beautiful this season — and that will never change.
