One of the most popular destinations on the island of Key West is Duval Street. Visit the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum where you can take in some history about the writer and meet a legendary six toed cat. If you feel like taking in some nature, visit the Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory where there are 50 - 60 different species of live butterflies from around the world. Rental shops are available with beach chairs, shade umbrellas, kayaks, jet skis and much more. Try South Beach for calm, shallow waters that are excellent for swimming and great for families. Higgs Beach is unique for its historical significance. Take a wander around, and you'll find monuments dedicated to the 19th-century slave cemetery located on the site. There is also a pier at Higgs Beach, where visitors can often spot stingrays and other marine species.

Is kayaking a safe activity?

Your safety is Key West Water Sports‘s number one concern. In general, sea kayaking is safer than most other outdoor pursuits, even bicycling.

Do we get to swim with or touch the dolphins?

As an active member of the Dolphin SMART program, we do not have physical contact with the dolphins on Key West Full-Day Catamaran Eco Tour: Sail, Kayak and Dolphin Watch. We watch them in their natural habitat from the boat.

Will I get seasick on Key West Full-Day Catamaran Eco Tour: Sail, Kayak and Dolphin Watch?

If you have any doubts about becoming seasick on the water, we recommend taking a Dramamine® Motion Sickness Relief tablet the night before your trip. Some people recommend taking it the night before your cruise and then again that morning so you will not feel so drowsy.

Do I need kayaking experience or will you teach me?

No experience is necessary! Beginners are welcome on all of our kayak tours. Most of our guests have never been in a sea kayak before. Anyone in average physical condition may join a kayak tour. If you can hike or bike, you can paddle our sea kayaks. You do not need any swimming skills either.

The only prerequisite is a healthy spirit of curiosity and adventure.

Regardless of age or skill level you will find that our expeditions offer enough flexibility to make your experience with us safe and rewarding. We will show you proper sea kayaking technique and water safety before leaving the beach. And your expert guides will be with you throughout the adventure to give you pointers and improve your skills.

Entering and exiting the water is easy from the catamarans.

These large boats are spacious, stable, and fun. Catamaran boats have two hulls, providing a very stable platform to enjoy being on the ocean.

For low cost, you will sail, snorkel, and have a party. You will learn how to snorkel, have plenty of time for snorkeling at the coral reef, and enjoy a toast on the sail back to Key West.

All equipment is provided, and when you’ve completed your Key West snorkeling adventure, they will offer complimentary beer and wine.

Bring sun protection, good sun glasses and a snack or picnic basket.

Choose from an early morning, early afternoon, or a combo snorkel/sunset trip that leaves in the late afternoon, and after snorkeling, returns to the Key West harbor for a sunset cruise.

What to expect:

Thirty minutes before departure you’ll check in at the dock in the historic quarter (Old Town). Next, for approximately 1-hour, you will leisurely sail six miles to the reef while mates provide soft drinks, equipment, and instruction. Once at the reef, you have up to an hour to snorkel and explore the coral and marine life. Then it’s time for the 1-hour sail back, when mates will be serving soft drinks, water, beer, and wine.

What to bring:

We suggest a towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, camera, and any snacks you want. A waterproof camera is also fun for recording your snorkeling adventure.
