Lil Yachty Celebrates 25th Birthday with New OVO Tattoo and a Trip on Air Drake

For his 25th birthday, Lil Yachty hopped aboard Air Drake. The rapper shared images of himself and Drake chomping on chicken, celebrating his birthday. Cementing their bond further, Yachty showed a new OVO tattoo on his arm.

“Big bro said I don’t gotta fly Delta nmore,” Yachty wrote.

Lil Yachty Celebrates His Birthday On Drake's Private Jet, Debuts New Ink

Lil Yachty had the time of his life while he celebrated his birthday flying in the skies on Drake's private jet. Yachty was so appreciative of the gesture that he even showed off a new tattoo inspired by the Canadian rapper. On Tuesday, August 23, the "Oprah's Bank Account" rapper hit up his Instagram timeline to share a recap of his ride on Air Drake . Within the gallery of photos, we can see Yachty and Drizzy eating some chicken wings and sipping on Sprite. Yachty boarded the PJ while rocking a rare pair of Drake's Chrome Hearts jeans, which he accidently ripped during his flight.

"More life to my brother @lilyachty so happy we are locked in for this lifetime," Drake wrote to Yachty in his Instagram Story. In Yachty's IG Story, we can see more images of him outside of the plane and his special message from Drake. The Georgia native also debuted a new OVO-inspired tattoo on his right wrist. The fresh black ink is in the shape of OVO's famous owl logo. Although he went for a lavish ride in Drake's private jet, Yachty ended up not dropping his annual Birthday Mix project this year. Yachty addressed his decision not to release anything this year on Twitter. “First year with no birthday mix,” Yachty tweeted . “something special is coming, thanks for the wishes… love y’all 4ever c u soon.” The Quality Control rapper hasn't dropped any solo work since last November. His previous project Birthday Mix 6 features nine tracks with collaborations with SoFaygo , Lil Tecca and more. See Lil Yachty's new tattoo below.

Lil Yachty is celebrating his 24th birthday with the sixth installment of his ongoing  Birthday Mix  series.

Dubbed Birthday Mix 6 , the nine-track mixtape features guest appearances from Lil Tecca and SoFaygo , along with DC2Trill and Draft Day, who recently signed to Yachty’s Concrete Boys label. Each song runs on the shorter side, and the entire tracklist clocks in at 22 minutes.

In celebration of his career thus far and as a thank you to his fans, Lil Yachty has released Birthday Mix Vol. 6 via Quality Control Music & Motown Records. The annual tradition is a fan favorite among Yachty devotees.

The rapper, entrepreneur, and mogul has released his birthday mixes since 2015 exclusively on SoundCloud, with this installation being the first available on all streaming platforms. Birthday Mix Vol. 6 is a nine-track project featuring verses from Lil Tecca, Sofaygo, and DC2DRILL & Draft Day, who are both signed to Lil Yachty’s Concrete Boys label.

Back in June, Lil Yachty shared “Love Music.” The laid-back single was his first release following his highly praised Michigan Boy Boat mixtape .

‘More Life’: How Drake Revitalized Himself With A Classic Playlist

On “Love Music” the always-versatile rapper takes a turn from the rapid-fire, off kilter delivery of his latest body of work. The track yet again demonstrates a new side of Yachty backed by alt-pop production, showcasing his melodic prowess and story-telling abilities. The release was accompanied by a visualizer of the single’s artwork.

Lil Yachty began 2021 flying high with the aforementioned mixtape Michigan Boy Boat . The tape was a homage to the emerging Michigan rap scene and was packed with features from fast rising midwest rappers. Michigan Boy Boat , Yachty’s long-awaited 14-track offering, features a comprehensive who’s who of rappers from Detroit and Flint including Tee Grizzley, Sada Baby, Babyface Ray, Louis Ray, YN Jay, RMC Mike, Veeze, Baby Smoove, Icewear Vezzo, Rio Da Yung OG, Baby Tron, Krispy Life Kidd, and Slap Savage. Just before the album was released, Yachty unveiled a behind-the-scenes trailer filmed in the Great Lake State.

Lil Yachty is keeping busy this year, working on a new series for HBO Max based on the card game ‘UNO’, releasing his cryptocurrency “YachtyCoin,” partnering with Reese’s Puffs Cereal, and promoting his new unisex nail-paint line Crete.

In celebration of the MC's 24th birthday, Lil Yachty released the sixth volume of his annual series 'Birthday Mix.' The new tape features Lil Tecca and more.

In celebration of his 24 th trip around the sun, Lil Yachty released Birthday Mix 6,  the latest volume of his annual mixtape series.

The nine-track tape features appearances from Lil Tecca , SoFayGo , Draft Day, and DC2Trill. The latter two were recently signed to Yachty’s Concrete Boys label. The Quality Control MC has released a  Birthday Mix  project for each of his birthdays since 2015, with this installment being the first to be featured on Spotify.

The release follows in the footsteps of June’s “Love Music,” which found Yachty traversing away from the punchy rap tracks he’s released so far in 2021 in favor of a more melodic and moody sound. Before the release of “Love Music,” Yachty teased another R&B-infused track on social media, this time rapping over Ne-Yo ’s “Sexy Love.”

“@neyo hey, will u clear this?” Yachty asked in the video’s caption . It remains unclear whether the crooner ever got around to clearing the sample.

Check out  Birthday Mix 6  below. The video for “Lord of the Beans” can be viewed up top, which features Yachty and DC2Trill bothing getting a “Concrete” tattoo on their chest.

Aside from surprising fans with new music and amping up crowds in Chicago , Lil Yachty made headlines for a different reason a few weeks ago, when he sparred with Bhad Bhabie over allegations of cultural appropriation . Bhabie is no stranger to such allegations , but the latest slew appeared after she was featured on the cover of Inked magazine.

“Y’all make these words have different terms to what they even mean,” Bhabie responded in a livestream. “Cultural appropriation is if I was to sit up and say, ‘Oh. A certain race looks ugly with that.’ And then I go do that on myself. Take braids for example. If I say a Black girl look ugly with braids and then I go get them, that’s culturally appropriating. Or when girls put chopsticks in their hair, that’s cultural appropriation. That’s doing something negative with someone’s culture.” 

A puzzled Yachty responded, “Bro… What the fuck is you talking about? That’s not the argument.” 

Bhabie retaliated by shouting about those who have criticized her “hood accent,” as she put it, which caused Yachty to respond with an eye roll. “This ain’t got nothing to do with nothing,” he said.

Drake Wishes Lil Yachty Happy Birthday In Heartfelt New Video

The pair have long been close friends and often interact on social media.

Drake and Lil Yachty 's long-running friendship is no secret. The former often finds himself getting trolled on social media by the latter for anything he posts. That comes up early in a new birthday message Drizzy recorded for Lil Boat. "He's gonna f*cking flame whatever pic I choose," the "Search & Rescue" rapper says early in his message. But from there the tone gets more genuine and serious as he wishes Yachty a happy birthday. He goes on to express regret that he can't be with him today, but promises that the pair will be together turning up very soon. It's another charming chapter in one of the most hilarious hip-hop friendships around right now.

This isn't the only birthday message Drake has made recently. Just last night he paused his show at LA's Crypto.com Arena to pay tribute to someone the crowd was no doubt familiar with .  “I’mma hold this up ’cause we got to show love to Kobe one time. Y’all make some noise for Kobe at this time,” he said during a break in the show. The late Kobe Bryant would have been 45 years old today. It's been three years since Kobe and his daughter Gianna tragically died in a helicopter accident.

Drake Shouts Out Lil Yachty On His Birthday

The release of Drake's new album For All The Dogs is right around the corner. After teasing the project during concerts all summer, it is finally expected to arrive later this week . After Zane Lowe shared some information on one particular feature from the album, many fans online jumped to the conclusion that he was talking about Frank Ocean . But Lowe himself made sure to shut that rumor down as quickly as it emerged.

“Some of the biggest names in music will travel to Raleigh in only a few short weeks, bringing about one of the most highly anticipated festivals of the year. Our team looks forward to welcoming all of our Day One fans from around the world back to Dreamville Festival,” said Dreamville Cofounder and Festival President Adam Roy in a statement.

The rest of this year’s stacked lineup will feature sets from Lil Yachty, JID, Sexyy Red, ScHoolboy Q, Teezo Touchdown, Jeezy, Monica, Rae Sremmurd, Key Glock, Jeremih, Lul Tyler, Muni Long and more.

From the Dreamville hometeam, fans can expect EARTHGANG, Bas, Cozz, Lute, and Omen to hit the stage as well.

In addition to the musical acts, there will be plenty of other attractions for festivalgoers throughout the weekend including carnival rides, immersive art installations and a variety of food options.
