‘Triple 8’ is a 141.08ft  /43m  motor yacht built in 2009 by Royal Denship. Previously named Caneli, her interior design is the work of Michela Reverberi and her exterior styling is by Diana Yacht Design.

Triple 8’s interior layout sleeps up to 10 guests in 5 rooms, including a master suite, 3 double cabins, 1 twin cabin and 1 convertable cabin. She is also capable of carrying up to 8 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience. Timeless styling, beautiful furnishings and sumptuous seating feature throughout to create an elegant and comfortable atmosphere.

You’ll find many leisure and entertainment facilities onboard, making her ideal for entertaining friends and family on your charter vacation. There’s lots of space for enjoying an alfresco lunch or dinner on deck, or simply lounging in the sunshine and working on your tan.

She has a cruising speed of 12.5 knots, a maximum speed of 135 knots and a range of 4,000nm from 75,830litre fuel tanks, so brings performance and luxury to the table.

This impressive yacht comes complete with a modern stabilization system to reduce roll motion even during rough seas, and the yacht also has ‘at anchor stabilizers’ to keep things smooth even at anchor/zero speed.

A Jacuzzi on deck is just perfect for relaxing with friends and family, while taking in the breath-taking scenery after a long day of exploration.

Wi-Fi connection is available throughout, so you’ll be able to stay connected while you’re away, great for business, checking emails or sharing your experience on social media.

A gym onboard, equipped with the latest exercise equipment, means you’ll never miss a work out.

Air conditioning keeps conditions comfortable throughout the cabins, even on the warmest of days or nights.

Motor yacht TRIPLE 888 EIGHT is a luxury vessel measuring 29.00m (95' 2”), launched by Horizon Yachts in 2008. Refitted in 2016, she can offer accommodation for up to eight charter guests in four cabins. There is a crew of three onboard.

From the broad lower deck swim platform guests have access to the main deck aft, which has a sofa integrated along the stern and an oval alfresco dining table and additional movable chairs for group gatherings. A staircase to port connects up to the flybridge.

Up on the flybridge, there is room for storing a tender along the stern which is safely launched and retrieved using a Davit crane. A Jacuzzi surrounded by sunbeds can also be found to the aft, and the amidships section shaded by a hardtop has a port-side bar and a starboard C-shaped sofa around drinks tables. The forward area has the helm controls to starboard with an additional co-pilot seat opposite, where guests can rest in the sunshine and take in the forward views.

On the foredeck, there is a sloping sunbed and a loveseat where guests can unwind and enjoy uninterrupted views of the scenery.

The lower deck hosts the guest and crew accommodation with room for water toys storage in the stern.

TRIPLE 888 EIGHT Specifications

On the main deck, there is a formal dining area and salon where guests can rest in comfort in air-conditioned surroundings while enjoying excellent views of the location through the broad windows on either side.

A pair of Caterpillar engines each producing 1,550 HP create a top speed of 20 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots.

Yacht Charter Accommodation

While cruising up to 12 guests can stay on board, and the accommodation sleeps up to 8 guests across 4 en-suite cabins: 1 Master suite, 1 VIP stateroom and 2 twin cabins. The Master suite is placed on the lower deck behind the VIP stateroom and comes furnished with a queen-sized bed, a corner sofa, desk/vanity, a wardrobe, AV entertainment systems and an en-suite bathroom with a toilet, sink and shower. The VIP stateroom is also fitted with a queen-sized bed as well as AV entertainment systems, a wardrobe and an en-suite bathroom with a toilet, sink and shower. The twin cabins both have single beds and AV entertainment systems, storage and an en-suite bathroom providing a toilet, sink and shower. The expert crew of 3 will ensure that every guest is well taken care of throughout their time onboard.

Burgess Announce Sale of Triple 8

M/Y TRIPLE 8, a 43.4 metre custom motoryacht built by Danish shipyard Royal Denship in 2009, has been sold by Burgess for an asking price of USD 12,950,000.

Previously named Caneli, Triple 8 features a semi-displacement steel hull and aluminium superstructure with teak decks. Built in Denmark at Royal Denship’s Aarhus facilities, the yacht has an elegant exterior and considered engineering by Diana Yacht Design , the team behind her signature sable-coloured hull.

Triple 8 is equipped with stabilisation and zero speed stabilisers for a smoother cruising experience and when at anchor. Powered by two Caterpillar (3508 B) 1489kW diesel engines and propelled by her twin screw propellers, Triple 8 is capable of a top speed of 14 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots. With 75,830 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 3,915nm at 10 knots.

The interior of M/Y Triple 8 is courtesy of Italian design studio Michela Reverberi. The design team has matched exquisite Italian fabrics in neutral colours with bleached walnut carpentry for a tasteful backdrop and restful ambience, with the addition of brightly coloured furnishings to create a stylish flare.

Formal dining is served in a traditional dining room that can seat up to eight guests comfortably and is located alongside the main saloon. For more relaxed dining and entertaining, guests can unwind in the skylounge, which has an outdoor cinema. The highlight of the yacht’s amenities is the 16-metre sundeck that features a spa pool, a wet bar and oversized sun pads with sun loungers forward.

Triple 8 is able to accommodate up to 11 guests across five cabins, comprising of a master suite, three double rooms and one twin cabin, with space for a maximum of nine crew.

Royal Denship motor yacht Triple 8 sold

The 43.4 metre motor yacht Triple 8 , listed for sale by Burgess , has been sold with the buyer introduced by JK3 Yacht Sales.

Built in steel and aluminium by Danish yard Royal Denship to a design by Diana Yacht Design , Triple 8 was delivered in 2009 and is Lloyd's classed. MCA compliant, she accommodates up to 11 guests in five cabins consisting of a master suite, two VIP suites, a double and a twin with a Pullman berth, all with flatscreen plasma televisions, surround sound, on-demand access to the central Kaleidescape server and full en-suite bathroom facilities.

Her restful, capacious interior by Michela Reverberi includes a large saloon with U-shaped seating on comfortable settees, a bar, entertainment system and a formal dining area.

Outside, ample deck areas include the aft deck with seating for 11 guests dining al fresco. Casual dining and relaxation is also available in the bridge deck skylounge, offering a home cinema with a 63-inch screen, a three piece suite and a mini bar. The large sun deck has a Jacuzzi aft with a barbecue, fridge and ice maker, and there are sun loungers forward facing an outdoor television screen.

Triple 8 came with a complete range of water toys including no fewer than three tenders, fishing tackle, snorkelling gear and three sets of scuba diving equipment plus a dive compressor. Twin 957hp Caterpillar engines give her a range of 5,000 nautical miles at 9.5 knots and she is fitted with Quantum zero speed stabilisers.

Triple 8 was asking $12,950,000.

Derrick White felt a little guilty about chasing his first career triple-double

BOSTON -- Derrick White embodies everything you want in a player. The Celtics guard is as unselfish as they come and always puts the team first ahead of his own individual accolades and accomplishments. 

But on Monday night, White admittingly got a bit selfish. And he didn't like it one bit.

White did a bit of stat-padding during Boston's 119-94 blowout win over the Detroit Pistons at TD Garden. Sitting one assist shy of his first career triple-double midway through the fourth quarter, White did everything he could to make sure the ball found an open shooter. His teammates followed suit, trying to sink a bucket and get White his 10th dime of the evening.

It led to some turnovers by White, who clearly didn't look comfortable hunting for that assist. When Boston head coach Joe Mazzulla called a timeout with 6:38 left and his team up by 25 points, White thought his night was coming to an end and his quest for a triple-double was over.

But Mazzulla had other plans. He told White that he had a minute to get that final assist before he'd take a seat on the bench. The Celtics drew up a play, and 13 seconds later, Payton Pritchard came off a Svi Mykhailiuk, took a feed from White, and drained a 3-pointer to the elation of everyone in the building. (Minus the Pistons, of course.)

White pointed to Pritchard after the bucket and pumped his fist, thanking his teammate for helping him reach a career milestone. He checked out a few minutes later with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists for the first triple-double of his eight-year career.

While he was happy with the accomplishment, chasing stats late in a game didn't feel right for White.

"It was weird," he said of that extremely uncharacteristic two-minute stretch. "I didn't like it, and I didn't play too well doing it. So I have to not do that ever again, hopefully."

The Celtics pride themselves on playing the right way and respecting their opponents, and White felt funny going after personal stats during a blowout win over a lesser opponent. But with Jayson Tatum, Jrue Holiday, Al Horford, and Sam Hauser all sidelined, White had an expanded role and a lot more scoring chances on Monday night. And with the Celtics well on their way to another lopsided win, the game gave White his best chance at getting that elusive triple double. Even his teammates were pushing for it as he got closer and closer.

"I'm not usually the one that tries to chase stats or whatnot, but I seen that I was two [assists] away. That's probably why I had those three turnovers there at the end, but I mean, I've been close a lot of times, so I was like, I'm going to try and get it this time," said White. "Just have to shoutout to my teammates."

White scored his 22 points off 8-for-20 shooting, hitting six of his 10 shots from downtown. He also scored his 5,000th career point on a three early in the fourth quarter.

F eeney arrived at the Australian Grand Prix second in the points but, after taking pole position for the weekend's opening race, could only watch on as Anton de Pasquale took an early lead in the shortened 18-lap race.

But the positions swapped back before the end of the first lap, with Feeney passing Dick Johnson Racing driver de Pasquale. The latter's day continued to get worse as Will Brown and Matt Payne also progressed past the Shell-liveried Ford Mustang in the early stages.

The two Red Bull Ampol drivers and Payne - of Grove Racing - pulled away at the front and were able to look after their tyres on a track much cooler than it had been in afternoon qualifying.

Payne’s third place was somewhat fortuitously protected by the car behind. Nick Percat was hit with a five-second penalty after early-race contact with Chaz Mostert so while the Matt Stone Racing Chevrolet driver was showing podium pace, he was never going to get the result that it would otherwise deserve. Just as well; Payne ran wide on the final lap and Percat got past, though the penalty dropped him to sixth place.

Moving up to fourth was Mostert, who recovered well to retake many of the places he had lost late in the race, and Cam Waters, whose brand-new Tickford Mustang appeared much more competitive than the car he raced in the opening round of the championship last month at Bathurst.

They were well clear of a battle for the minor placings that saw, at one stage mid-race, 10 cars fighting within two seconds. De Pasquale salvaged seventh ahead of the Blanchard Racing Team Ford of James Courtney .

To rub salt into the wounds of the opposition, both Feeney and Brown set their fastest laps on the final circuit, though Feeney’s faster lap earned him an extra five championship points.

That fastest lap means that Feeney now leads the championship points but narrowly, his 359 just two points over Brown. In third place is Mostert (327) ahead of Payne (238) and Percat (237).

“That was an interesting race, we just tried to manage it as best as we could out front,” said Feeney after the race, which he won by 2.32 seconds. “It has been a hectic day, pole, and win and fastest lap.

“He [Brown] had some real good pace at the end, I just tried to put the hammer down at the end.”

Brown admitted that had the car in front not been his teammate, the second half of the race might have been different.

“He [Feeney] had pretty good speed, it would have been good to have a bit of a go. If it was someone else there, it would have been on!”

Payne was philosophical after his last-lap scare.

“We had a bit of speed in qualifying and I knew it was going to be tough racing. I made a pretty bad mistake at the last corner, I grabbed both pedals. I knew Percat had a five-second penalty so I wasn’t that fussed!”

Friday’s second race will be over 20 laps and qualifying has already been held, with Waters to start from pole position ahead Brown, Feeney and Mark Winterbottom (Chevrolet).

This is an opinion column.

A taste of the future was delivered Tuesday with the next round of College Football Playoff revelations.

For weeks it’s been teased and leaked with carefully crafted messaging. There was the whole thing about automatic bids for the SEC and Big Ten that was quickly punted or just a distraction from the real negotiation.

Because on Tuesday, this was about the money.

It always was.

ESPN and the CFP formally and officially announced they’d remain married through the 2031-32 season. It’ll only cost the network $7.8 billion for the additional six seasons -- roughly tripling what it currently pays for the four-team playoff and other New Year’s Six bowl games.

More on that to come.

What Tuesday’s announcement didn’t include was anything about the format, the number of teams involved or how they’d be selected. This was just the money.

And there’s plenty of that to go around, especially for the Big 2 of the SEC and Big Ten. They’ll combine to make 58% of the revenue from this new contract, as has been reported for a few weeks now .

All of this comes at an interesting time for college athletics and cable television. How does all of this work and what will it mean for you, the viewer?

Under a 12-game playoff format, they effectively added four games and tripled the money. All of this comes amid the broadcasting revolution of cord-cutting and shifting consumer habits.

ESPN lost 3 million subscribers from 2022 to 2023, according to Disney’s 10-K filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (the other SEC). The 2023 annual report states $9.2 billion in affiliate fees (the portion of a cable/streaming service bill that goes to ESPN).

According to an August 2023 report from Sportico , the estimated monthly fee viewers paid for ESPN was $9.42 -- more than three times the rate of the second-highest chuck of the cable bill ($3 for TNT).

ESPN brought in $9.3 billion in those affiliate fees in 2023, according to its SEC filing -- down 2% from the previous year. The explanation directly from Page 43 of its SEC filing:

“The decrease in domestic ESPN affiliate fees was due to decreases of 7% from fewer subscribers and 1% from the temporary suspension of carriage with an affiliate, partially offset by an increase of 5% from higher contractual rates.”

You see that last part?

Then there are the streaming subscriptions from ESPN+. They were up 7% last year to 26 million subscribers who pay on average $5.49 a month. That was up from $4.80 a month “due to an increase in retail pricing.”

What would further drive those subscriptions?

Maybe make a few CFP games ESPN+ exclusives just like Peacock did with last year’s wildly popular NFL playoff game between the Dolphins and Chiefs. That was actually addressed in the ESPN.com story published Tuesday after the news was announced.

“There is a right and flexibility to do early-round games on direct-to-consumer streaming services, but as of now, no decision has been made on our side to even activate that right,” said Nick Dawson , ESPN senior vice president, of college sports programming and acquisitions. “A lot of this is future-proofing where the world goes over essentially eight years, and we feel really good about the flexibility we have, but in the near term, I don’t think fans would expect to see much difference in terms of how the games are distributed broadly across traditional linear television.”

Of course, ESPN is teaming up with Fox and Warner Brothers to launch a new streaming joint venture this fall that’ll further shake up the marketplace.

Bottom line: It’s probably not going to get any cheaper to watch College Football Playoff games or anything on ESPN’s family of networks.

This, of course, wouldn’t be the only factor trickling down to make prices go up, but these additional billions in payouts don’t come from charity or goodwill.

It’s all part of the machine that drives the college sports money machine -- one that’ll continue to churn and evolve. There’s certainly more to come in the future of the CFP as the march to 14 teams continues before they even take next year’s 12 out for a spin.

And there’s room to grow.

ESPN’s Dawson was quoted in the ESPN.com report Tuesday as saying the TV deal has “a mechanism to address if they expand beyond 14 teams.”

Sounds like a tasty future, but like with any menu, someone ultimately has to pay the bill.
