Once you enter the cockpit of the Viking 72, you will immediately notice the immense size of the vessel, highlighted by the 209 square foot cockpit. This boat may have been built to accommodate luxurious long range cruises, but Viking made sure to also pack this model full of space and features for serious sportfishing. The 72 offers a set of massive in-deck fishboxes, plenty of tackle storage and freezer space, and even a Seakeeper for when the seas get rough.

Entering the salon of the Viking 72, you will find a J-shaped sofa, day head, a U-shaped galley with custom granite countertops, crown molding on the upper cabinetry, and a large walk-in pantry forward. There is also an optional layout which offers an open galley and an L-shaped sofa for those looking for a more open floorplan. Going below, you will find a three-quarter-beam master stateroom, a guest stateroom to port, a VIP stateroom forward, and a crew quarters aft, all equipped with a private head and shower.

The main differences in layouts come with the optional enclosed bridge. The enclosed bridge salon mirrors the open bridge plan with the addition of a circular staircase to the enclosed bridge helm, which also serves as a second salon with an L-shaped sofa, cocktail table, refrigerator and entertainment center. With the open convertible bridge, there are three helm chairs, benches to port and starboard, along with another seating area forward.

Viking Yachts 72 Enclosed Bridge

It was back in 1964 that Bill and Bob Healey opened the factory doors to what would become the world-renown, iconic sportfish and motor yacht builder known as Viking Yachts. With the company mantra to “Build A Better Boat Every Day” the new Viking 72 Enclosed Bridge was imagined to fill a void in the 70-foot sportfish market that only Viking could achieve. From the highest quality composites in the hull to the in-factory woodshop to Viking’s premier engine manufacturer partners, there is simply nothing on the market that can compete with the Viking 72 Convertible or Enclosed Bridge models in this class. In a recent Marlin Magazine article, Viking President and CEO Pat Healey had this to say about the transition from the 70 to the 72, “The 70 Viking is an iconic boat. What we did, after building 36 of them over a period of five and a half years, is the same thing we accomplished with our other recent boat models, we just made it better.”

So how do you improve on an already phenomenal boat? Starting with the hull performance, Viking changed the deadrise at the transom, removed the chines aft to gain additional beam on the boat, and shaped her to be more of a V-configuration, all of which made the 72 more slippery and resulted in a faster yacht. The hull is comprised of a mixture of E-glass and carbon fiber material that gives the hull more strength and durability, but also reduces the weight of the boat. Combine those high-grade materials with Viking’s vacuum-bagged resin-infusion process, and you get more speed and stiffness while continuing to reduce the weight.

Part of the extra two feet added to this model went right to the cockpit, which is one of the amazing features on the 72 Enclosed Bridge. Of course the shaded observation mezzanine is a favorite among sportfish enthusiasts as it allows guests on the boat to watch the fishing action in the comfort of a leather seat, air-conditioned, with plenty of refreshment opportunities within reach. But the ‘fish-ability’ of the cockpit sets a standard in sportfishing. You can see the additional room behind the fighting chair that the extra two feet and beam have provided. There are two refrigerated boxes, an ice maker, bait boxes, tackle cabinet, livewell, tuna tubes, and ample storage place. And don’t forget the built-in space for the Seakeeper Gyro Stabilizer that has been built into the deck just forward of the lazarette.

The interior of the Viking 72 Enclosed Bridge does not disappoint even the most distinguished of owners. Enjoy the addition of the circular staircase which leads to the enclosed bridge helm. The 72’s enclosed bridge is essentially a second salon on the boat, featuring a L-shaped sofa, table, another refrigerator, and an entertainment center in the event guests on board want to congregate upstairs.

New owners of the 72EB can choose from multiple power options. The standard base model engine is twin MAN V12 1550hp diesels, but owners can choose to upgrade to CAT C-32A 1925hp engines, MTU Series 2000 V12 M96L 1945hp engines, or the MTU V16 M96L 2635hp engines. The largest engine package produced an average cruising speed of over 37 knots and hits 40 knots at top end with just an 80 percent engine load. Moscow is a Volga River cruise port, Russia's capital and largest city (population over 12,2 million, metro 17 million). Moscow City covers a total area of approx 2610 km 2 (970 mi2). By population, the city is ranked the world's 14th largest. Moscow is one of the Russian Federation's all 3 federal cities - together with St Petersburg and Sevastopol .

Being Russian Federation's capital, Moscow is a major economic, political, scientific and cultural center, as well as Europe's biggest city.

According to Forbes 2013, Moscow has been ranked as the 9th most expensive city in the world by Mercer and has one of the largest urban economies, being ranked as an alpha global city according to Globalization and World Cities Research Network. It is also one of the fastest-growing tourist destinations in the world according to MasterCard Global Destination Cities Index. Moscow is the northernmost and the coldest megacity and metropolis on the Earth. It's home to Ostankino Tower, the tallest free-standing European structure; the Federation Tower, the tallest European skyscraper; and the Moscow International Business Center. 

Moscow is situated on Moskva River in the Central Federal District of European Russia, which makes it the most populated inland city in the world. Moscow city is well known for architecture, particularly its historic buildings like Saint Basil's Cathedral. With over 40% of its territory covered by greenery, it's one of the greenest capitals and major cities in Europe and the world. Moscow is the seat of power of the Russian Government, being the site of Moscow Kremlin, a medieval city-fortress that is now the residence of the President of Russia. Moscow Kremlin and Red Square are among the several World Heritage Sites in the city. 

Moscow has 2 passenger terminals, North River Terminal (Rechnoy vokzal) and South River Terminal. The regular ship routes and cruises along Moskva and Oka rivers are used mostly for entertainment. North River Terminal (1937-built) is currently the main hub for long-range routes along the river. There are 3 freight ports that serve Moscow.

In late-July 2021 the city announced plans to incorporate a fleet (unspecified number) of fully electric passenger ferries into its public transportation network from summer 2022, the goal being to reduce the dependence on cars.

• The boats are designed with length ~22 m (72 ft), passenger capacity 42, modern amenities (Wi-Fi, USB charging points, tables for working commuters), spaces for storing scooters and bicycles.
• Moscow Transport confirmed that two routes (with max daily capacity ~16,000 passengers) have already been mapped out.
• Passengers will be able to pay via bank cards, the city’s Troika card (smart card for travel by any public transportation) or biometric payment cards. Those with monthly/yearly public transit tickets will use the boats at no extra cost.
• The new electric ferry service is up to 5 times faster (in comparison to other city public transports) and ~2 times faster than by car.

Moscow cruise terminal

Moscow's cruise terminal is called North River Terminal or River Station  ("Rechnoy Vokzal" / "речной вокзал").

The terminal was opened in 1937 and is one of 2 passenger terminals (the other being South River Terminal) of the city's river transport. North River Terminal is the main hub for long-range (including cruise) shipping routes.
