Welcome to SYC - N 49' 36.178 W 119' 38.939

Image

Founded in 1952,  SYC now has around 200 members who enjoy the many boating activities available on Okanagan Lake. Our boating season runs from March to the end of October.

We have an active racing group which hosts the Giant’s Head Regatta in early August, kicking off Okanagan Race Week. Members from every Yacht Club and other marinas on our lake attend.

Our members cruise the 80 km length of the lake using reciprocal moorage at six other Yacht Clubs on the lake   (See Links).

Summerland Yacht Club has events ranging from Lift In/Out days, Members Wine and Cheese Night, Commodore’s Ball, Dock Party and more.

Of our four docks, three have 20 amp service and city water. Close to the secure gated entrance way to the docks is a shower and washroom building. We are open 7 days a week during the summer. Our new septic pump out has easy access and works great, no special fittings required. Enjoy the  Boathouse Bar and Grill  (open to the public), which serves great meals indoors or on our patio.

SYC Boathouse Bar and Grill

Ratings and reviews, location and contact.

We visited this Saturday and were lucky to be there just in time before kitchen was closing down. Had to wait a while before the servers took notice that we were waiting, but had a nice chat with the kitchen crew through their open window,... We were joking that we might miss our dinner as we were told the kitchen would be closing soon, but the chef !?! assured us that w will be fed, he even came to the table later to make sure that we have been helped. Very nice touch. Had the Schnitzel and a Thai Salad with wild Tiger prawns. I love Schnitzel and this was the best Schnitzel in a long time, Tender high quality meat, baked with a golden crust, lemon wedge and fries. Just perfect. My wife had the Thai Salad, big bowl of fresh mixed salad with tropical fruit and a spicy-sweet dressing, topped with peanuts and four large prawns. Nothing better on a warm summer evening. We were very happy campers after that dinner, especially as we did not expect to have a meal like that and being afraid to miss out because we were so late. Will recommend to our friends More

Circle of 10 friends from all over the Okanagan, we regularly meet at changing restaurants. Made a reservation, but had to wait for a while and had a friendly chat through the open kitchen window with the two cooks, both German we found out. Despite... being busy, they had some fun in that kitchen, which is always a good sign. Because of Covid had had to sit on two tables, Covid rules are followed strictly, with hand sanitizing station, only the phone number was not taken automatically. It took the servers a while to bring us the menu despite it was not too busy. Small, but very interesting menu with unique dishes. Some of us had the “Godfather” burger, which was a revelation. Amazing combo of flavours. Some had the Cordon Bleu special, an enormous piece of pork loin filled with cheese and ham. So tasty and filling. We can never go back to those sad pre made little chicken cordon bleus you get everywhere else. Most of the ladies had the Thai salad, a big bowl of mixed shredded greens and veggies, topped with fresh mango & papaya, peanuts and 4 large wild tiger prawns. Beautiful presentation. According to the girls the dressing was so good, spicy, sweet and fresh at the same time and we asked the server what kind of dressing this is, and she told us it is made in house by the chef. Bravo ! The food here is absolutely outstanding. They also have the usual crowd pleasers like fish n chips etc, but why would I order that here with this creative menu. We plan to come back one more time this summer and look forward to trying a hopefully new interesting special then. Food top, service has room to improve. But still 5 stars. More

Visiting the Okanagan over Labor day weekend. Our Summerland friends took us out for dinner at the local yacht club. Did not expect much as I am very snobby with my food. I had the weekend special, the Cioppino, and it blew me away. This... was the best fish & seafood stew I had since I left my home country. I am originally from Sicily and live in Vancouver for 25 years. In Italy we have the best fish & seafood dishes, but this Cioppino was like time travelling into my past. It was perfect, because it was simple. No Chichi, just a beautiful broth with all the herbs from the Mediterranean coasts, loaded with a variety of fresh fish, mussels, prawns, squid etc. and good real bread for soaking op the leftovers. It felt like home. It was the most expensive item on the menu, but still fairly priced when comparing with the price range in Vancouver for that dish AND this was far better. Molto bueno, Bravo ! It is always good when you are being surprised totally unexpected. My wife had a salad with prawns, taht she like very much, our Canadian friends had a big burger with fresh pineapple (Maui Burger ?) and fish and chips. They were very happy, too, but I am so glad I had my "Stufato di pesce", thats how we call a Cioppino. Service was very friendly and helpful. Mille Grazie for a perfect evening More

Save your money. Fish and chips were terrible. They were obviously out of a box and deep fired. The fish had an awful fishy taste and the batter was dripping with grease, not worth $15.00. Vienna schnitzel again deep fried and horrific. The salad was... not even dried off, water still sitting at the bottom. When we complained the head chief STEPHAN came out and asked us what was wrong with the food. When we started to tell him he got rude and argumentative - we were speechless. He wouldn't even let us talk. I've never ever had an experience like this. I felt like I was being bullied by this guy. Rudest man - even the young ladies were embarrassed, but were very sweet and very apologetic, we didnt even get a an apology from him. Save youR money folks. More

I ate here with friends a week or two ago and we thought it was fantastic. We all had fish and chips - absolutely delicious. We sat on the patio and had an outdoor space to ourselves. No lake view but a casual, pleasant evening.

This place is probably the best dining option in Summerland. It's nicely located at the Summerland Yacht Club. It's very casual, with both patio or indoor seating. Inside though, it doesn't resemble a restaurant. It looks like an empty banquet room with maybe 2 small... tables and a big screen tv. The better option is to sit outside, especially if it's a nice evening. The menu is basically a hand full of appetizers, 3 entrées and 3 desserts written on a chalk board, which leads me to believe that the menu changes daily. All entrées were really well priced at $16 each. I choose the Parisian Steak with vegetables and roasted potatoes. It came sliced and cooked perfectly medium as ordered, with a dollop of garlic butter on top. It may not have been the best cut of steak, but the flavour was very good. The carrots avoided being your typical side, by not being over cooked and by being coated with a nice sauce. The asparagus and roasted potatoes were also well cooked and tasty. I had the house made apple strudel with ice cream and blue berries for dessert. This could have been better. The strudel was cold and should have been warmed up to compliment the cold ice cream. Also, the blueberries didn't make a good combination with the apple strudel. It was a very average tasting dessert. Being that the entrées were so well priced at $16, the dessert would have been better priced at around $5, not the $7 they charged. Perhaps if the dessert was exceptional, then the price would be warranted. Dessert aside, I still feel this place is very well worth dining at. Very good quality and price with decent service. I would most definitely eat here again. More

Spectacular service wr had the lunch special. It was amazing! The meal was so delicious! Brought so much happiness to our day!

We stayed next door and didn't feel like driving into town. The location was great as was the service. the food was rather expensive but very tasty.

This restaurant is the dining area for the Summerland Yacht Club. The kitchen was recently taken over by the chef from Gini's restaurant in Edmonton. This was a long term fixture on the Edmonton high end dining scene. The Boathouse is small Yacht Club dining... room so don't expect extravagant surroundings. Expect a great view of the Marina, friendly and hospitable service and great food. The mussels were exceptional and the Salmon outstanding. I have eaten at most of the high end restaurants in the Okanagan and the food is competetive, the atmosphere is much more laid back and the prices are right. Highly recommended. More

We visited again and the food was just as good as the last time. We visited outside with friends and we all enjoyed our meals. My husband had an exceptional burger and the rest of us had the amazing fish & chips.

We had the very best fish & chips, husband had a burger and it tasted like home made. Service was very good considering getting help these days

Nice people, nice food, nice local wine, nice prices. Big tick. Fish & chips was excellent, the flatbread less so but my wife's food another night was excellent. Friendly staff. Shame it closes at 9pm, and there isn't a view of the lake but pleasant... garden More

Best food best price best location. Great food n service inside could use a a little do over slash up. Its such a prime spot love it. Wille back alot more often. But someone needs to tell the very loud mouth Chef in the kitchen... that inside u can here everything. Glad i didn't order Nachos as when i heard that order come in I also heard that if u want to have sour cream u cam come and get it from one of the cooks foreskin. More

More
