On 6 May 16, 23 we picked up our Drago 23 from the Öchsner company. After administrative matters, Mr. Öchsner went on a briefing trip to Main. Mr. Öchsner gave us some important tips and advice. I immediately tested the boat myself. After the very informative trip on the Main, we went back to the company building where the boat was professionally tied up and ready for the trip. After a 4-hour trip we happily arrived at Hard on Lake Constance.

The next day we named our modern boat Zoe and friends and acquaintances were very enthusiastic about the boat. I would like to point out that our guests were “connoisseurs”. We especially liked the very well thought-out details of the boat and of course the attractive design.

Due to the weather and also due to time, the “Zoe” finally landed on the water on Saturday morning, May 21. The engine (Volvo-Penta) started immediately on the first try and we drove from the harbor area towards the lake (Lake Constance). Once again, the very smooth and quiet running of the Volvo Penta 4.2l, V6 engine was remarkable. After the warm-up phase, I boarded the boat without any problems. My daughter and I had big grins on our faces during the trip. The acceleration and running characteristics of the Drago 23 are simply amazing. We traveled from Hard to Höchst (Rhine delta) and from there to Lindau/Bregenz and back to Hard.

The hard water characteristics of the Drago 23 are also very good. The waves of about 0.5 m are hardly noticeable when gliding (40 km/h). Although I only used the boat for a short time, the mooring maneuvers in the harbor are absolutely smooth. The Drago 23 can be controlled very precisely.

Test : Drago 23 Yachtline - Die Sprint-Königin

In BOOTE 9/15 haben wir die beiden großen Schwestern Drago 29 mit und ohne Wide-Beam-Rumpf sowie Benziner gegen Dieselmotor gegeneinander antreten lassen. Da wurde unter anderem dem Benziner in der Beschleunigung eher ein müdes Verhalten zugesprochen. Unser neues Testboot hingegen, die Drago 23 Yachtline Wide Beam, zeigt sie sich in der Beschleunigungsphase mit Volvos neuem V6-Benziner und ihren 240 PS äußerst sportlich oder gar "bissig".

Dass die Übergangsphase von Verdränger- in Gleitfahrt damit keine Probleme bereitet, kann sich jeder vorstellen, doch was passiert, wenn das Boot mit etwa 20 kn fährt, und man den Hebel dann ganz nach vorn schiebt?

Der Rumpf macht einen "Raketenstart" und die Fahrgemeinschaft wird deutlich spürbar in die Sitze gedrückt .

Das geht bis zum Erreichen der Höchstgeschwindigkeit von über 38 kn kontinuierlich weiter. Einziges Manko: die 5000 U/min bei Vollgas sind laut Volvo mindestens 400 U/min zu wenig. Ergo, hier muss noch an der Propeller-Abstimmung gearbeitet werden.

Getrimmt haben wir die Drago per Hand, leichter geht’s für den Eigner mit der installierten Trimmautomatik, die je nach Geschwindigkeit selbstständig den Powertrimm steuert.

Wer mit optimalem Fahrtrimm (etwa +3 auf der Anzeige) in schnelle Kurven fährt, darf diese nicht zu eng drehen, damit der Propeller keine Luft zieht. Besser geht’s mit dem ganz an den Spiegel getrimmten Z-Antrieb, dann zieht der Rumpf ohne Luftschnappen eng seine Runden, schaukelt nicht, jedoch treten deutlich merkbare Seitenkräfte auf und die Devise heißt „gut festhalten".

Gleiches gilt beim Verreißen des Lenkrades und auf Slalomkursen, bei denen der Rumpf nicht bockt, jedoch einfach die physikalischen Kräfte wirken. Die Drago ist mit der leichtgängigen Steuerung immer exakt und gut zu kontrollieren Wie sich der Wide-Beam-Rumpf im Kabbelwasser schlägt, können wir aufgrund kleiner Wellen auf dem Bodensee nicht objektiv sagen. Die Hecksee von den Berufsschiffen durchfuhr der Rumpf auf jeden Fall problemlos.

Geht es um die wirtschaftliche Fahrweise, sind bei unserer Testkombination 3500 U/min (25 kn) anzupeilen.

In dieser Situation laufen 1,16 l/sm Sprit durch die Leitung, was bei einem Tankinhalt von 170 l immerhin eine Reichweite von 124 sm plus 15 % Reserve ergibt und die Streckentauglichkeit der Drago unterstreicht. Plus-Minus: Das Lautstärkemessgerät zeigt in Marschfahrt nur 80 und bei Vollgas 82 dB/A. Die dafür verantwortliche Schaumstoff-Schallisolierung lässt sich mit einem Feuerzeug leicht entzünden und brennt dann lichterloh weiter.

Auf langsamen Routen muss der Fahrer den Kurs ab und zu etwas ausgleichen, das gilt auch bei Gewichtsverlagerung von einer Person. Manövrieren lässt sich die Drago 23 Wide Beam unproblematisch, dafür sorgen enge Wendekreise und ein ansprechendes Umsteuerverhalten. Gelenkt wird an einem griffigen, gut positionierten Sportlenkrad und geschaltet an Volvos leichtgängiger EVC-Schaltung.

Der Fahrer sitzt dabei auf einem Schalensitz, dessen Sitzpolster sich für die Fahrt im Stehen hochklappen lässt, ansonsten bietet der Platz keine Verstellmöglichkeiten. Die Polster sind fest, aber an das wulstige Lehnen-Mittelpolster muss man sich erstmal gewöhnen. Die weiteren Bedienelemente des Fahrstandes sitzen gut verteilt auf dem Armaturenbrett, wir vermissen hier jedoch den Kompass. Außerdem suchten wir an der leicht getönten Windschutzscheibe den Scheibenwischer vergeblich. Der Grund ist schnell gefunden: Die Scheibe besteht aus Plexiglas, diese würde der Scheibenwischer ruck, zuck zerkratzen. Dazu Florian Öchsner:

„Auf Wunsch bieten wir eine spezielle Beschichtung für die Scheiben an, die die Wassertropfen abperlen lässt und den Scheibenwischer überflüssig macht."

Volvos neuer Benziner steht unter der Sonnenliege, die sich mit zwei Gasdruckdämpfern praktisch klappen lässt. Im Motorraum hat der Service-Techniker genügend Platz zum Hantieren. Was dem Raum fehlt, ist eine gute Be- und Entlüftung, denn bei Vollgas liegt die Motorraumtemperatur nur kurz unterhalb der Maximalgrenze von 45° C – und das bei Luft- und Wassertemperaturen von geringen 16° C. Kraftstoff- und Elektroanlage zeigen einen guten Standard. Bis auf wenige holprige Silikonnähte gilt das ebenfalls für die gesamte Verarbeitung.

Bei der Sicherheitsausrüstung setzt Drago auf zwei elektrische Bilgenpumpen und eine lose Handlenzpumpe. Die Ausrüstung mit nur einem 1-kg-Feuerlöscher und Fireport-Zugang im Motorraum reicht uns dagegen nicht, wir fordern eine Feuerlöschanlage bei Einbaubenzinern. Für Halt an Bord sorgen Reling und passend installierte Handläufe, weniger Komfort bietet das Seitendeck, da es gerade mal 11 cm breit ist.

Um das Boot festzumachen, installiert die Werft vier Klampen serienmäßig. Die Mittelklampe, zum problemlosen Einhandschleusen, kostet extra. Diese Klampen wie auch die Druckwasseranlage , Cockpittisch Deluxe, LED-Deckenleuchten, 12-V-Steckdose und Sonnendach gibt es in einem sogenannten Touring-Paket (4940 €). Aufpreis zahlt man auch für eine in ganz Deutschland zugelassene Navigationsbeleuchtung. Das komplette Ankergeschirr spendiert Fa. Öchsner dagegen serienmäßig.

Unser Fazit

Die Drago Yachtline 23 ist ein gut trailerbares Kajütboot. Zwei Personen können bequem reisen, Entdeckungstouren mit Freunden sind ebenfalls gut möglich. In der Standardversion fehlt teilweise Ausrüstung, Verarbeitung und Installationen überzeugen.
