• Karen H. November 6, 2021, 8:14 am I will find it hard to want to go back!!! Joyce a manager at the night time bingo was very unprofessional towards me on Friday night nov.5th. I was in line to get my bingo cards and she was very harsh when telling me (not asking me) to put my face mask up over my noise. Ok what ever I did what I was told. Then while I was in the middle of a game she came up to me again and got after me about the mask. I told her that I was eating the food i got from the snack bar and playing my card at the sa me time. That was not good enough for her she insisted that I hang the mask from my ear while I was eating. By this time I missed the numbers for the game I was playing. I totally understand about the mask and I am more than willing to abide by the rules how ever when I saw other people not having there mask on when they were eating and the snack bar people were not wereing the mask in the way that the manager was telling me to do I find that to be harassment. I felt like she was on me. If it is good for 1 it's good for everyone. I really can't say that I would be back any time soon. … – show 0 0 Reply

I came out here with a friend and her fiance who have been here a couple of times before. Bingo typically tends to draw an older crowd and we were some of the younger ones here (and I'm not young). Some of the regulars came up to us to inquire/warn us about if it was our first time there and some of the rules/recommendations, etc. Some of the regulars seemed to be welcoming whereas others were clearly perturbed by our presence. They take their bingo very seriously here. They have electronic and paper cards. Nevertheless, it was still a bit of fun. Maybe next visit, I will relax a bit more and just enjoy myself and not worry about some of the regulars. … – show 0 0 Reply

Had some fun wild number games and other different games. Had a nice relaxing time. Nothing spectacular or different from any other bingo hall.

Riverboat was great, although I was not able to catch a game of bingo and only happened to use the bathroom. But I side it is quite spacious! I bet there is ample room for a Hoedown, Shindig, orHootinany!! Probably a fun time and place to play BINGO! Which coincidentally I have not done in quite a long time. It was very clean and plenty of chairs and photos of memorabilia on the walls and community info. I was there for an outdoor meeting on the patio which also is quite spacious and wonderful in the morning. Perfect for a good start to your day, birds chirping and what not.I always look forward to the days we have our meet up.Thank you Riverboat! :)(My apologies on the no photos.)

Went to Bingo tonight. Definitely recommend getting there early if you want to play all the games. Food was really good and low price. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful. Lots of room, nice and clean.

Fun place to spend a night out instead of watching TV, the food in the Cafe is good (they only take cash, so no debit or credit cards in the cafe) and the people are friendly.

First time coming here and it was myself and my parents. The food prices look very reasonable. They don't allow you to bring anything in but the drinks that they have is very reasonable and we had a blast!!!! If you're coming out here for the first time, my recommendation is get there early so that you can figure everything out before it starts ? We played the paper games and the electronic. And I'm excited to say my mother won twice ?? They have an open room where there's no talking and then they have the chatter room. We will probably figure out what day works best and become regulars ❣️ I also want to say the staff was very friendly and very helpful! The bathrooms were clean as long as you don't pee on the toilet lol. Anyway, highly recommend!! ??????

Had our taxes done here and the staff was very knowledgeable and very easy to talk with. We had taxes from 2 states and that wasn’t even a problem for them. To our amazement it was free on top of the awesome service. Thank you all for the wonderful job. 1st time we ever got money back ?

Bingo is fun to play here everyone is friendly. The same people keep winning. This one guy wins every session, row 11, I have been at, in fact several times in a session. I went on a Tuesday and he won the very last game, high prize... then I go Thursday of the same week he wins the very last game again. No one can win every time but he does and most of the time several and one other women row 15, does too. Kind of odd. If he lost once in a while it would not have caught my attention. Kind of turned off to be honest. Don't go here.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — Here are the stories with the most watched videos from this week.

Two dead after shooting in Vero Beach, large sum of cash found near body: IRCSO

VERO BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — Two dead bodies and a large sum of cash were found at the scene of a deadly shooting in Vero Beach on Monday afternoon.

The Indian River County Sheriff's Office (IRCSO) said the shooting occurred at the Vero Lakes Estates Community on 105th Court, off 77th Street, near I-95. Flowers said the sheriff's office gets its fair share of calls to the community, but not typically for shooting homicides.

Sheriff Eric Flowers told CBS12 News that a 911 call came in at 3:01 p.m. A resident told dispatch she heard a noise, and when she went to open her garage she saw what she believed was a body lying on her yard.

17-year-old arrested in double homicide in Vero Beach, deputies say

VERO BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A seventeen-year-old boy was arrested in connection to a double homicide that occurred in Vero Beach on Monday , according to the Indian River County Sheriff's Office (IRCSO).

Deputies say Jaime C. Mosqueda is accused of pulling the trigger that took the lives of two 19-year-old men from Melbourne, Florida. He now faces charges of two counts of murder without premeditation.

The two victims, both of whom were 19 years old, were identified as Logan Thompson and Joseph Cardella.

Florida rapper Jackboy arrested in Port St. Lucie

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — An overnight traffic stop in Port St. Lucie led to the arrest of Florida rapper Jackboy on multiple felony drug and weapons allegations.

Jackboy, whose real name is Pierre Delince, was driving a black Chevrolet Suburban shortly before 11 p.m. on Tuesday when two Port St. Lucie police detectives spotted the SUV on SW Port St. Lucie Blvd., near SW Import Drive, according to the arrest affidavit.

The detectives determined the windows of the Suburban were too tinted and they could smell burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle as it went down the road, one of the detectives wrote in the report. The detective added, when the SUV stopped at a stoplight, the driver allegedly called someone using FaceTime and then kept driving when the light turned green.

Rochester is a home away home to see total solar eclipse

It’s going to take an effort for Spokanites who would like to experience the total solar eclipse on April 8. One of the closest cities, which will experience the eclipse in totality is Rochester, New York, and there’s some significant common denominators.

It will feel familiar in the town dubbed the “Flower City,” since Rochester, just like the Lilac City, has a river running through it. The Genesee River flows much like the beer of the same name through the northwestern New York City.

Rochester is a cute midsize town, population 210,000, with a burgeoning culinary scene and fun family activi ties. However, on April 8 at 3:20 p.m., which is when totality commences, it’s going to be all about the eclipse. The place to be is anywhere in the Greater Rochester Region gazing into the sky with eclipse glasses.

The eclipse will begin at 2:07 p.m. as the moon will start to cover the sun. The eclipse ends at 4:33 p.m. The next total solar eclipse is in 2044.

For those who make the trek, a great place to start is the Rochester Museum and Science Cente r. Bone up on the event by catching the Planetarium show. The film transports viewers into space to see what makes an eclipse happen. The informative show details what to look for in an eclipse. Past eclipses are reviewed and the most significant eclipses in history are examined.

The only safe way to look directly at the partial eclipse phases of the sun, even at 99.9 coverage, is through eclipse glasses. The museum will have eclipse glasses, but the pro tip is if you’re thinking about experiencing the rare event, is to purchase the glasses sooner than later. Eclipse glasses were sold at a premium days before the 2017 total eclipse.

If you’re in a playful mood, check out the Strong National Museum of Play , which is located in Rochester’s Neighborhood of Play. It’s the world’s only museum dedicated to the exploration and discovery of play. The museum features the world’s largest playable Donk ey Kong arcade museum. There’s Pon g machines for retro-gamers, an endless array of pinball machines and myriad old school games, such as Ms. Pac-Man and Asteroids. The games are free with the price of admission.

The collections are vast. The doll exhibit is extensive. Every era of Barbie is covered. Endless G.I. Joes are on display, along with such throwback dolls as Action Jackson and Big Jim and his awesome sports camper.

Current short-term exhibits focus on Black doll designers, a Barbie “You Can Be Anything” experience and a war toys display. The Strong Museum is just as engrossing for adults as children.

Families who would like to go from virtual to reality can take a half-hour drive to Bristol, New York, for Bristol Mountain Aerial Adventures . There are a variety of ziplines. The Canopy Tour is ideal for adults and children. The seven ziplines, which span over 5,000 feet, include a rapid 1,600-foot run. But the canopy tour is serene and features four spectacular bridg es with brea thtaking views.

Children favor the Aerial Adventure Park, which features a range of courses with varying levels of difficulty. There are seven courses to choose from and each consists of 12 to 15 s uspended elements that are secured to trees, including ziplines, tight -rope walks and rope ladders. There’s even a skateboard, which concludes a course.

And then there’s “The Launch,” which sends participants above the forest canopy up to 63 feet into the air and experiencing up to 3.8 Gs.

Photo buffs will enjoy the George Eastman Museum . Eastman is the pioneer of popular photography and motion picture film. The Eastman Museum is the world’s oldest photography museum and possesses one of the oldest film archives. You can spend da ys exploring the unparal leled collections. There’s always a film screened in the historic Dryden Theater. The restored Terrace Garden, West Garden and the Rock Garden offer a tranquil break.

The can’t miss brunch is at Local’s Only . The Morning Glory is the must on the menu. Braised brisket covered in au jus with three eggs and breakfast potatoes is not only delicious but you’ll be stuffed until early evening.

Spokane has “The Garbage Goat.” Rochester has “The Garbage Plate.”

The best kept culinary secret in Rochester is “ The Garbage Plate .” The dish is anything but rubbish. According to locals, the Garbage Plate was invented at a lunch counter, Nick Tahou Hots. A bunch of college students asked for a plate with “all the garbage on it.” Tahou complied. The plate is filled with choice of cheeseburger, Italian sausage, steak, chicken or white hots, a regional hot dog, served on french fries, home fries, baked beans and macaroni salad. It’s much better than it sounds and it’s a perfect way to finish off a night at the local watering hole.

Speaking of bars, enjoy a Genny Cream Ale while staring at the Genesee River at Schooner’s Riverside Pub . The open air gazebo is perfect for early spring as Rochester’s mercury rises.

It will almost feel like home with the river zipping through town but the scent of the garbage plate, not flowers, is a reminder that you’re on vacation.
