Sunseeker 105 motor yacht Smooth Operator for sale

The 32 metre motor yacht Smooth Operator is new on the market, listed for sale by Oliver Sieckmann at Sieckmann Yachts in Germany.

Designed by Don Shead , Smooth Operator was built in GRP by British yard Sunseeker International to RINA class and delivered in 2003 as a Sunseeker 105 model, and has never been chartered. An interior refit in 2012 by Birgit Schnaase gives a thoroughly modern look to the accommodation for eight guests in four cabins comprising a split level master suite on the main deck, a VIP suite and two twins. All cabins have entertainment centres, television screens and en suite bathroom facilities while a further two cabins sleep four crewmembers aboard this yacht for sale.

The main saloon, with a richly decorated interior design in cherry wood, has a bar and spacious seating plus a large television screen and entertainment system acting as a divider from the dining area with formal seating for eight guests.

The cockpit has built in upholstered seating and a table for dining under the stars, while the spacious flybridge has a Jacuzzi and large bar for yet more effortless al fresco entertaining.

The tender garage, hydraulic bathing platform and the tender launch/recovery system are special features on this model and are very well designed. Twin 2,000hp MTU diesel engines give her a cruising speed of 22 knots, a top speed of 28 knots and she is fitted with Trac Star digital fin zero speed stabilisers.

Lying in Mallorca, Spain, Smooth Operator is asking €3,490,000 with VAT paid.

Smooth Operator 56.33 ft' Dufour 56 Exclusive 2019

Smooth Operator is currently located in Boston, MA. She was built in France and sold in the U.K. to her current and sole owners who sailed her around Europe before joining the ARC and crossing the Atlantic to the Caribbean and then ultimately arriving here in the U.S. late spring 2023. The boat was then properly imported into the U.S. and all duties were paid to customs at that time.

The boat will stay in Boston, MA for the next month or so, then she will sail down to the Chesapeake By in late September/early October where she would stay until the end of hurricane season (late November/early December) before returning to Charleston for the winter (unless she is sold in the meantime). 

Smooth Operator has a fin keel with a bulb design, but since that wasn't an option on Yacht World, we've listed the boat with a fin keel which is closest in design. This boat is fully loaded with all the cruising kit and gear needed to continue her exploration of the U.S. or continue on to foreign waters. She has very low hours on her engine (1,170) and generator (172) and has been optioned and upgraded extensively.

She is a 220V boat with a transformer allowing her to toggle between 110V here in the U.S. and 220V abroad. A very desirable feature for world cruising.

Smooth Operator: Horizon’s E75 Motoryacht

Coming in at an even 75 feet length overall, the Horizon E75 debuted to U.S. yachting enthusiasts at November’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. She falls in the middle of this builder’s nine-model E series, running from 56 to 98 feet length overall. For seasoned owner-operators who want to voyage to far-flung waypoints, this yacht is ready to travel.

Horizon is confident that its owners are up to the challenge. The yacht has an 18-foot-6-inch beam that helps keep her manageable, and her systems are designed for use without crew. Says Horizon USA Marketing Director Elise Moffitt: “None of this boat’s systems ­require a professional engineer. If you’re a knowledgeable owner — which, at this size, almost everyone we see is — you’re going to be comfortable working the things we have on board. This boat’s got ABT Zero Speed stabilizers, [1,150 hp C18s or 1,600 hp C32s] Caterpillar engines, the swim platform. This is all stuff that people can use themselves.”

If an owner decides he wants to have crew or a captain, the yacht comes with aft quarters for two crew, with a sleeping cabin, head and sitting area. Horizon suspects that for cruising families, that crew space may well end up being a hideaway for the kids. (The yacht also has three staterooms, including a full-beam master.)

Another part of the E75 that Horizon paid attention to was her lines, which are sleeker than you might expect. The idea was to give this model a fresh, Euro look. And it worked.

“Honestly,” Moffitt says, “we couldn’t keep people off of her at the Fort ­Lauderdale show. They were crawling all over it the whole time.”

Those potential customers got a firsthand look at Horizon’s “casual ­luxury” interior ambience. The E75 is nice enough to host a Champagne-and-caviar fete, and laid-back enough for board shorts and bikini tops (though probably not worn by the same person). She also has a refrigerator, grill and optional hot tub up on her bridge deck, which is designed to be an optimal outdoor entertaining area.

As for those all-important performance attributes, with the standard C18s, the E75 will hit 22 knots, according to the builder; with the optional C32s, she should see a relatively speedy 27 knots.

Horizon expects big things from the E75 Motoryacht, and for good reason. The yacht has it all: owner-operator ­appeal, onboard luxury and admirable performance numbers. I have a feeling you’ll be seeing more of these yachts out on your local waters soon. Heck, you might even find yourself driving one.

Sunseeker Yachts has been building highly-distinctive motor yachts since the mid-1970s, basing their range of semi-custom yachts on hulls evolved from racing and using the latest in composite materials and construction techniques.

Smooth Operator measures 31.01 metres in length, with a max draft of 2.00 metres and a beam of 6.20 metres.

Smooth Operator has a GRP hull with a GRP superstructure.

Her interior design is by Ken Freivokh Design.

Ken Freivokh Design is a multi-disciplinary team renowned for their uniquely creative design solutions.

Smooth Operator also features naval architecture by Don Shead Yacht Design.

Smooth Operator has a top speed of 28.5 knots. She is powered by a twin screw propulsion system.

Smooth Operator has a fuel capacity of 14,780 litres, and a water capacity of 2,500 litres.
