Since its inception, the Monaco GP has lured the creme de la creme to the coast of Monte Carlo. The race in the Principality of Monaco is one of the most prestigious and glamorous races on the calendar. The 2024 edition is no different. However, on this occasion not a celebrity but a former F1 driver Nicholas Latifi made the most heads turn. The Canadian and his father reportedly arrived at the Monaco harbor with their fellow countrymen in a whopping $200 million super yacht.

This biggest privately owned yacht on the weekend is Lawrence Stroll ‘s former ultra-luxury yacht called Faith. The Canadian billionaire was aboard it along with his son and Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll. The 318-foot-long vessel exchanged hands between Canadian billionaires Lawrence and Michael Latifi, father of the former Williams driver, in the recent past.

According to @JoePompliano on X, the super yacht has 2 helipads, 2 jet skis, a gym, a theatre, a pool, and a sauna. The fully loaded boat also rents for $1.5 million a week. According to some photographs, one of the front helipads also doubles down as a basketball court when not in use.

Kym Illman did a little research and revealed a boat much smaller than Faith costs about $120,000 to $150,000 to park in Monaco for 5 days. That’s the basic operating cost. According to various sources, Faith’s yearly operating cost is around $15 to $20 million.

The massive superyacht can accommodate 18 guests comfortably and a crew of 34. However, the Latifi-owned yacht wasn’t the only extraordinary boat on the harbor on the weekend.

F1 photographer reveals the details of the second-largest yacht at the Monaco GP

The second biggest and second most expensive yacht of the weekend is Lionheart. Owned by British businessman Philip Green, the super yacht is worth a whopping $150 million. The Monaco resident’s vessel is a 2016 model and Italian made by Benetti. The Lionheart is sturdy as well with steel construction paired with an aluminum superstructure, according to SuperYachtFan.com .

The mega boat has a cruising speed of 15 knots and has a diesel-electric propulsion system which is powered by Caterpillar engines. Apart from that it can house 12 guests and a crew of 30. According to Illman, the running cost of Lionheart is $15 million a year.

The British billionaire’s yacht is not as long as Faith, falling 18 feet shy and measuring 300 feet. The weekly rental costs are not clear, however, a few popular names have boarded the Lionheart. In the past, soccer megastar Cristiano Ronaldo has been spotted riding the mega yacht.

The most epic super-yachts at the F1 Monaco Grand Prix

Yachts routinely steal the show during the F1 grand prix weekend.

The yachts docking in the harbour for the F1 Monaco Grand Prix have turned heads - with a couple particularly impressing.

A yacht named Seven Sins caused a commotion because there is a Bugatti Chiron onboard.

The Seven Sins can be chartered for a week at a much more reasonable $300,000 but that doesn’t come with the Bugatti!

The car itself is worth around £2.5m and, now, there is one in full view in Monaco harbour during the F1.

A yacht named Evrima, owned by Ritz-Carlton, is being used by Lewis Hamilton , George Russell and Toto Wolff as part of their partnership with Mercedes .

Evrima is more of a floating luxury hotel than a boat.

Guests have voyaged around France before docking in Monaco for the coolest weekend of the year.

Rooms cost $10,000 to $100,000 for holidaymakers at this time of year.

If you want to charter Evrima, it will set you back $2.2m for a week.

It boasts 149 rooms, a private terrace for each suite, an infinity pool and even an onboard therapist.

It has direct access to the seawater, and watersports, from its deck.

The biggest yacht at the Monaco Grand Prix (so far) is actually owned by the Ritz-Carlton. • 149 Cabins • Pools, Spa & Gym • Rooms cost $10,000 to $100,000+ It's essentially a luxury cruise — you spend a few days in France and then dock in Monaco for the race. Pretty crazy. pic.twitter.com/7aGVIs5Peg — Joe Pompliano (@JoePompliano) May 23, 2024

A superyacht named Faith has also docked in Monaco for the grand prix and it is known to some of F1's richest people.

The $200m yacht was previously owned by Lawrence Stroll, the current Aston Martin owner.

Stroll sold it to the billionaire father of former F1 driver Nicholas Latifi.

Faith has a helipad onboard plus a gym and a theatre.

And it's yours to rent for one week for a mere $1.5m...

A yacht named Lionheart is also turning heads in Monaco this year.

It was formerly owned by businessman Philip Green, and is valued at $150m.

The largest yacht currently in Monaco's Port Hercule is Lionheart, a superyacht built for businessman Philip Green by Benetti SpA, which cost $150 million. Most famously, when Kimi Raikkonen was forced to retire early from the 2006 Monaco Grand Prix, rather than go back to his team garage he instead walked straight to the harbour to find his yacht.

Moments later, he was spotted lounging in the sun onboard his private yacht with his friends - with the F1 race going on without him.

Inside Lawrence Stroll’s $282 Million Superyacht ‘Faith’

Inside Lawrence Stroll’s $282 Million Superyacht ‘Faith’

Nick Kenyon

If you’re a billionaire and you don’t own a superyacht, there’s a reasonable case to be made that you’re not enjoying your money as much as you could be. Fortunately, there’s virtually zero doubt that Lawrence Stroll is enjoying his wealth to its absolute fullest, as the owner of the Faith superyacht that was recently spotted by Boss Hunting’s very own James Want at the Monaco F1 Grand Prix.

As the National Post noticed, this year’s Monaco F1 Grand Prix had a noticeably smaller contingent of superyacht owners, thanks mostly to the international sanctions on Russia’s wealthiest citizens that have seen billions of dollars of assets seized by various governments around the world. This meant Lawrence Stroll’s Faith was one of the largest superyachts in town on race day, with a length of nearly 97m and enough space for a dozen of Stroll’s nearest and dearest.

Lawrence Stroll Superyacht Faith

RELATED: WATCH – Conor McGregor Absolutely Sends It In His $5 Million Lamborghini Yacht

As you’d expect from a vessel worth an estimated US$200 million (AU$281,792,000), Faith offers a large lounge area complete with a toasty fireplace, private movie theatre, gym, 9-meter swimming pool, spa and plunge pool, as well as several bar areas to enjoy a spritz in the sun. If that sounded a little too pedestrian for your taste, the superyacht also has a Flyboard (you know, the waterjet powered hoverboard), several jet skis, kayaks, wakeboards and even a couple of water slides.

Lawrence Stroll Superyacht Faith

While the Faith is owned by Stroll, it’s also available for private charter via Yacht Charter Fleet. For a week on the Faith, you can expect to pay approximately US$1,395,500 (AU$1,965,963), with summer season hotspots including the Amalfi Coast, Corsica, French Riviera, and Sardinia, while popular winter season anchor drops are around the Caribbean.

There are also two 10-meter tenders and a water ski boat along with plenty of toys, such as a flyboard, a slide, jet skis, sea bobs, kayaks, and many more to entertain guests.

FAITH yacht price

Lawrence Stroll is believed to have paid a price of US $200 million for FAITH. The annual running costs amount to US $15 to 20 million dollars depending on use.

Depending on the season, weekly charter costs range from US $1.2 million to $1.5 million, not including any additional charges.

While some might consider this a downgrade in terms of size, it is important to note that 80 meters offers a heightened level of convenience and versatility when it comes to exploring various yachting destinations.

By opting for this size, Lawrence Stroll ensures that his new yacht can navigate a wide range of captivating locations with ease, providing an extraordinary yachting experience for himself and his guests.

Canadian billionaires Michael Lee-Chin, who is also Jamaican, and Lawrence Stroll are leading the way with their massive superyachts arriving in Monaco ahead of the Formula One Grand Prix.

Topping the list of largest superyachts is the 377-foot Ahpo, reportedly owned by Lee-Chin. The investor’s net worth is around $1.8 billion, Forbes reported .

The yacht, designed by Nuvolari Lenard studio, is said to have six decks, a full gym, beauty salon, spa, swimming pool, jacuzzi, dance floor and movie theatre, according to the publication autoevolution .

Coming in second place at 317 feet long is the Faith, owned by Canadian fashion entrepreneur Lawrence Stroll, whose son Lance drives for the Aston Martin F1 team. Lawrence Stroll’s net worth is $2.9 billion, Forbes reported .

Feadship superyacht FAITH in the South of France!🇫🇷 Anchored here last Friday in the South of France and spotted recently in Villefranche-sur-Mer is one of the largest Feadships delivered to date, the 97m Faith, launched as Project Vertigo in 2016. pic.twitter.com/QZBAcP2EcY — Yacht Informer (@yachtinformer) May 23, 2022

The yacht came with a US$200 million price tag. It can host up to 18 guests and has nine staterooms, according to Yacht Bible . It has indoor and outdoor fireplaces in the private owner’s deck, a movie theatre, gym, a wine cellar and a wellness area.

The nearly 100-year-old annual race is expected to see some showers over the next couple of days, though it’s not expected to deter the floating party scene. More than 80 super yachts, at a combined length of 4.5 kilometers (2.8 miles), are already clustered off the tiny city-state in the French Riviera, with more likely en route.

The superyacht world was thrown into turmoil following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the sanctions placed on billionaire Russian oligarchs.

More than a dozen yachts worth over US$2.25 billion have already been seized. The seizures have sent the luxury vessels racing across oceans to locales that aren’t as likely to impose or enforce sanctions. Some have logged more than 5,000 nautical miles since the start of the invasion in February.

One of the biggest superyachts, Eclipse, owned by Russian billionaire Roman Abromavich, is 533 feet and would have towered over Lee-Chin’s vessel; however, it was notably absent in Monaco.

One of the first yachts seized, Dilbar , owned by another Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov, would have also towered over the other vessels in Monaco, at 512 feet. It was impounded by German authorities while it was undergoing repairs, Page Six reported in March. Since then, other yachts and even private jets owned by Russians with connections to President Vladimir Putin have been seized.

The absence of Russian superyachts pushed the two Canadians into the lead for largest yacht — although the country with the most was Greece, closely followed by the United States and France. Russia did not make Bloomberg’s superyacht leaderboard .

The largest yacht in Monaco's harbour

yacht latifi monaco

MONACO -- If the wide shots of the Monaco Grand Prix look a little less spectacular this year, it's probably because the circuit's famous harbour is operating at little over half capacity.

Port Hercule, which is skirted by Monaco's famous race track on two sides, usually acts as a magnet for the Mediterranean's superyachts at this time of year, turning 160,000 square metres of liquid real estate into the ultimate playground for the rich and famous.

On a race weekend, a berth in Port Hercule can cost anywhere between €8,000 and €128,000 depending on location and size of boat, with the most expensive positions offering a view of the track from the Nouvelle Chicane to the Swimming Pool complex.

The very biggest boats have no choice but to moor on "The T" behind the Swimming Pool grandstand, with their bows pointing out to sea.

But the COVID-19 pandemic has curbed the party in 2021, with loud music banned after 10 p.m. and no more than 12 guests on a yacht at any time.

The largest yacht in the harbour this year is "Faith", a 316-foot leviathan worth an estimated $200,000,000.

In 2019 it was anchored further down the coastline, acting as the base for Aston Martin team owner Lawrence Stroll and his racing driver son, Lance.

Recent media reports suggest Faith has been sold to Michael Latifi, the billionaire chairman and CEO of Sofina Foods and father of Williams racing driver Nicholas.

Details of Faith can be found online , including its seasonal charter rates, which start at an eye-watering €1,200,000 per week and rise to €1,500,000.

That money not only buys you a lot of yacht for seven days, but also a list of amenities that would make several of Monaco's five-star hotels look rather ill-equipped.

The five-storey floating palace houses a cinema, spa, swimming pool, massage room, steam room, hammam, gym and, rumour has it, a snow room.

It has seven bedrooms that can sleep up to 12 guests, a VIP stateroom to entertain friends and includes an elevator to conveniently link its decks.

Faith also comes laden with toys, including two jet skis, an electric foiling surfboard, three sea bobs and two kayaks.

A helipad and helicopter hangar are built into the floating superstructure, although it seems as though you have to provide your own helicopter.

One charter website carrying details of Faith, claims its "impressive leisure and entertainment facilities make her the ideal charter yacht for socialising and entertaining with family and friends".

At the Yacht Club the 4th edition of the Monaco Smart & Sustainable Marina Rendezvous

TURIN, Italy, July 25, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- An ecosystem driving change in marinas. Organised by Monaco Marina Management (M3), the 4th edition of the Monaco Smart & Sustainable Marina Rendezvous will take place at the Yacht Club de Monaco (22-23 September 2024). The event will gather 250+ delegates at the Ycm, including entrepreneurs, industrialists, investors, promoters and marina developers from all over the world. There, an exhibition area will provide an opportunity for all to see and test the latest innovations from the selected startups and scaleups.

Three key topics will be debated at workshops: energy transition and sustainability, including greener fuels and waste reduction; building resilient, energy-efficient infrastructure; and diversifying marina services. The main objectives are to encourage collaboration, develop sustainable strategies, and drive the adoption of best practices in sustainable marina management. During the meeting there will be three keynote talks exploring how technology, the banking sector and architecture can transform marinas. This year, architects and students are invited to submit designs for a floating marina in ecologically sensitive areas. A jury, chaired by the Zaha Hadid Architects firm, alongside Jean-Michel Wilmotte and experts, will assess the projects. At the end of two days of exchanges and networking, the International Smart & Sustainable Marina Awards will be presented on Monday 23 rd September 2024 at 4.00pm to the winners in three categories: Startups & Scaleups, Marinas, and Architects (professionals & students).

“Faced with today’s environmental challenges, we firmly believe the key is to put innovators in direct contact with marina operators and other professionals in the sector to get technological solutions in place. Together, thanks to everyone’s expertise, we can create marinas that are models of sustainable excellence,” explains José Marco Casellini, CEO of M3, a Monaco-based consultancy specialising in development, management and promotion of marinas, yacht clubs and sailing schools. Under the aegis of the collective ‘Monaco, Capital of Advanced Yachting’ initiative, the meeting is supported by Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and the Principality’s digital transition programme Extended Monaco, alongside UBS, Sanlorenzo, MB92 Group and Bombardier. “ Our main driver of innovation is sustainability and we are delighted to support this event once again this year. Taking part in this meeting of the brightest and boldest minds and witnessing the innovative and tangible solutions that are brought forward give us optimism and confidence to define a new norm for the future, ” says Emmanuel Bornand, Vice President, International Business Aircraft Sales, Bombardier.

As the curtain fell on the 11th Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, combining Tech Talks and on-water contests that saw 40 universities and 450 students from 25 nations showcasing their progress in alternative propulsion technology, Yacht Club de Monaco continues to support innovation in pursuit of sustainability in the yachting sector. “Preserving the environment is at the heart of what most concerns us. Protecting our planet’s rich yet fragile marine ecosystem is our top priority. If you want to raise the bar, you have to become an agent of change,” says YCM President, HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, when outlining the roadmap. This commitment is reflected in the Sea Index, a benchmark measuring the environmental impact of yachts (+25m), available to owners and shipyards, and is now applied in 15 harbors and marinas from Menton to Saint-Tropez, Corsica, and those operated by SEPM in Monaco.

VIDEO | Latifi hits the wall during formation lap of wet Monaco GP

Nicholas Latifi hit the wall during the formation lap for the Monaco Grand Prix . The Williams driver did manage to get away to go to the pit lane for a new front wing.

It's wet in the streets of Monaco, as soon becomes apparent during the formation lap. It was already postponed twice due to heavy rain. Things go wrong for Latifi when the race finally starts, as the Canadian hits the wall during the formation lap. The Williams driver was lucky though, as he was able to continue his race.

From alternative propulsion to sustainable marinas monaco leads drive to build the future for yachting.

MONACO, July 24, 2024 --( BUSINESS WIRE )--As the curtain fell on the 11 th Monaco Energy Boat Challenge , combining Tech Talks and on-water contests that saw 40 universities and 450 students from 25 nations showcasing their progress in alternative propulsion technology, Yacht Club de Monaco continues to support innovation in pursuit of sustainability in the yachting sector.
