Haslab ghostbusters plasma series spengler’s proton pack update.
That’s right—HasLab Lab! We’re back to give our backers twice the know-how and twice the informative information. Do you find yourself haunted by questions regarding your recent supernatural elimination needs purchase? Are you finding it difficult to rest in peace until you dig up some otherworldly answers? If you’ve answered “yes” to either of these questions, then this blog update is for you! Keep on reading as we suit up to bust every eerie inquiry.
Here at the HasLab Lab, we understand the anxiety that comes from the unknown. Heck, our entire Ghostbusters business is based on the unknown. Despite any questions weighing heavily on your mind, allow us to now reassure you that Spengler’s Proton Pack will not weigh heavily on your back. All in all, our 1:1 movie-inspired prop replica weighs in at a respectable 15 pounds. We knew it was important to have a Proton Pack that wouldn’t be a burden during hours of cosplay and/or convention fun! It’s all about bustin’ ghosts without bustin’ your back.
Plasma Series Neutrona Wand sold separately. Subject to availability.
Now that we’ve removed a great weight from your minds (and shoulders), this isn’t the time to get cocky. Bustin’ ghosts is a dangerous gig. Official Ghostbusters members need to stay on their toes. Say, for example, you were to hear the distinct sound of munching nearby. You may be wondering why you should be concerned. Muncher is pretty harmless, after all, so long as you leave him be. Unfortunately, he might just decide he wants to snack on your Pack’s real metal pieces! What? Hold on! Have we all gone mad? Real metal pieces? Yup! Our designers have made a Proton Pack that’s not only irresistible to fans but to a certain metal-munching manifestation, as well. A sturdy metal rod holds the cyclotron snug on your Pack, so you don’t experience the embarrassment of trying to bust a ghoul with a loose cover. There’s also a real metal ion arm, Clippard valve, v-hook that’s compatible with the Spengler’s Neutrona Wand, and two metal switches (housed within the cyclotron) so fans can select 1984 mode or Afterlife mode. Also included at no extra charge (sorry, Venkman) are 5 metal C-clamps for collectors to use to secure the Proton Pack to an ALICE System LC-1 Field Pack Frame… which increases the chance of a malevolent munching.
Are you, by chance, a bit of a bigger buster? Or are you maybe a slightly smaller Spengler? Either way, bustin’ is an inclusive business and we’ve got Ghostbusters of all shapes and sizes covered. Our included, padded straps boast a maximum circumference of 46 inches and a minimum circumference of 28 inches at the shoulders, while the waist has a maximum circumference of 60 inches and a minimum circumference of 24 inches (although, it can go down as small as 13 inches, if necessary). In the HasLab Lab we celebrate all buster bodies, which is why our adjustable Proton Pack straps are one size fits ghost—er, we mean most .
Come over here for a moment. Here’s a powerful update that our eerie investors are going to be thrilled to exhume! When cosplayers turn off their Proton Packs, there will be a free-roaming 5-minute window in which they can power their Packs back up… with their Plasma Series Spengler’s Neutrona Wands! Yeah, we did that. HasLab employees understand how difficult it is to reach a switch when it’s on one’s back. We watched many try to do it for hours before we grew tired of it and suggested linking the Pack with the Wand. Is there anything cooler than flipping a few switches on a Neutrona Wand then hearing and feeling a full-sized Proton Pack come to life on your shoulders? We don’t think so.
Honestly, this spooktacular backer update is so chockfull of information that we can barely stand it. And if you couldn’t tell from that forced joke, we’re talking about our supernatural stand. Our team of engineers gathered around and studied the stand. They looked at it. They looked at it some more. They measured it. Then they stared at it for a bit. Some glared. Some glowered. Others went glassy-eyed and vacant. Thankfully, that wasn’t because our stand was inhabited by the spirit of a bloodthirsty 16 th -century tyrant. We’re not sure but we think it was a just a little indigestion, or maybe the long hours we put in here at the HasLab Lab. Anyway, our team of top researchers made some adjustments to the stand’s footprint to accommodate the weight of the Pack more easily. Then someone suggested that, while we’re tweaking the design anyway, it might be nice to ensure that the Spengler’s Proton Pack can be displayed on the stand with the Neutrona Wand connection hose attached. Currently, as it stands, this thing just keeps getting cooler.
Wait a second—who made this goopy, gloppy mess over here? Oh, that’s right, it’s just our custom ecto-plasm (available only to backers that ordered through Hasbro Pulse by Friday, October 29 th , at 7:00 PM EST) and marshmallow goo attachments. These pliable PVC pieces can be attached to various locations on your Proton Pack, featuring built-in locking mechanisms so cosplayers can strut their stuff with that just-been-slimed look. Not feeling slimy? Go for the goop! Backers can choose how funky they want their Packs by swapping between the ecto-plasm and marshmallow attachments. Enjoy walking on the wild side? Go ahead and use both! Make your own rules!
All right, who’s ready to heat things up around here? Our Ghostbusters Plasma Series Mini-Pufts figures are straight fire. These limited-edition Ghostbusters figures feature the same premium design and detail our fans have come to expect from the Plasma Series, as well as an exclusive “toasted” deco, and are available only through the Ghostbusters HasLab. Standing at 3.75-inches tall—1:1 with the characters onscreen—fans can re-create the chaos of these maniacal marshmallows by attaching them to the hoses, ecto-plasm attachments, or marshmallow attachments on their Packs. Each Mini-Pufts toy has at least one C-clamp hand to give them a better grip on the miniature mayhem. Doesn’t it just make your head spin? Speaking of heads, did we mention that you also get 3 additional Mini-Pufts heads to swap out for frightfully fun expressions?! Just keep an eye on them so they don’t sabotage your unlicensed nuclear accelerator.
Look, we know we don’t exactly act like scientists here at the HasLab Lab. We’re more like game show hosts and, as luck would have it, we’ve got one more prize to reveal. Back when we launched our Ghostbusters HasLab, we teased out our Class III Unlock: The Spengler Special. Now, our phantom financiers are still going to receive 2 sheets of Ghostbusters-themed decals, but they will not be receiving Egon Spengler’s 16-page journal. We’re very sorry about this and can offer only the following as a consolation: Egon Spengler’s 32-page journal! Yes, you heard right, we’ve doubled the size of our Class III Unlock notebook and we’re dying for you to see what’s inside. This journal chronicles Egon Spengler’s time as a Ghostbuster from before the Manhattan Crossrip to the return of Vigo the Carpathian and beyond, including brand-new content shedding some light on just what our favorite straightlaced scientist was up to during his time in Summerville. Our writers worked closely with our partners at Sony Consumer Products and Ghost Corps to offer fans this incredible, official Ghostbusters collectible. Stuffed with sketches, designs, musings, newspaper clippings, promo fliers, never-before-seen equipment, and some carefully placed Easter eggs, this journal is available exclusively to Ghostbusters HasLab backers.
Here at the completely fabricated HasLab Lab our credentials may be fake, but our excitement is real, and we can’t wait to get these incredible Proton Packs on our backers’ backs!

Alright, this is some pretty HUGE news! The team over at Mack’s Factory will soon launch an officially licensed line of Ghostbusters prop parts!
From their website:
“We are ecstatic to present a definitive set of Proton Pack parts, each painstakingly captured from the original hero props straight from th e archives! We set out to make the best Ghostbusters gear available. “Regardless of your skill level, you will enjoy assembling your very own Proton Pack and Neutrona Wand as each part has been engineered for ease of assembly.” – Arron Mack & Ron Diep
In speaking with Mack’s Factory , I’d like to add that these pieces will be perfect for those who’ve been building proton packs for years or the beginner who’s always dreamed of owning an unlicensed nuclear accelerator. A veteran prop builder will love the accuracy included, while a newcomer will likely fall in love with the ease of the build and its instructions that read similar to a set of famous Swedish furniture instructions.
If you’re itching to get started, a waitlist has gone live for the Proton Pack Body Kit and Dry Transfer Decals . As soon as the kit is in stock and ready to ship, you’ll be notified, allowing you to pay for your order.
Featured details on the Proton Pack Body Kit include:
This Proton Pack started as a casting pulled from molds made during the production of the original Ghostbusters (1984). Using multiple references from the Sony Archives our master pattern maker went to work making adjustments to create this new Idealized Proton Pack that captures all the unique character of the hero prop while straightening distortions and adding a uniform surface finish.

Ghostbustes proton pack shell with production mold lineage?
- Thread starter Moviefreak
- Start date Mar 3, 2016
- Mar 3, 2016
Does anyone know if anyone sells original Ghostbustes GB1 proton pack shells that are from a studio production mold? I was curious if there is a shell out there that is cast from the original molds.
stay away from ALL of them being claimed to have linage.... your best bet is to buy one from the GBfans site. they will be far greater quality then ANY pack claiming to have movie linage...
Thanks. I need to build one from scratch and I am not only intimidated but very overwhelmed.

You should look up nickatron, good guy and I think a second generation mold.

Nickatron is definitely a great source. Slow web site, but worth it. I remember the last shell pack I bought with supposed lineage. It was from Bob's prop shop. This was before I knew who was behind it all. Either way my shell came cackled and warped. Took me almost a week to fix that shell before attaching Nickatron parts to them. So yes, stay away from any claims of lineage. Nickatron rocks!

Deffo check out Nickatron. I have a Semi Hero build using his kit and I am currently working on a Hero build using his shell. Amazing work Sent from my XT1021 using Tapatalk
Thanks guys. :thumbsup
The closest to a film shell out there right now is Chris Bosh's, but he only offers them up a couple at a time. The earliest lineage "production shell" is Neil's, but I don't think he's offering it currently. Regardless, all available shells need some resculpting if they're to be made accurate! If you've got the energy to do a scratch build, go for it!
Stay away from Video Bob, aka Robert Moseley.
Anyone that sells on GBFans.com (including Nickatron) sells QUALITY shells. I have built two backs with shells from their site and they are of great quality.
Funny thing is, the "lineage" packs look like HELL. warped, soft and look like a 4 year old sculpted them.

Since we are on the subject(ish)... Who's got the better Wand kit? I've been looking at both GBfan's and Throwingchicken's. Pro's & con's? If possible, I'd like to have sound IN the gun. It was a while ago, but in a thread discussing TC's wand, someone said that would be difficult. I figured the Matty has sound, so it cannot be too difficult.

NeilT said: - - - Updated - - - all the sound packs i've seen are huge. you'd have to build a seperate holding for it and attach it to the gun with the worlds tiniest speaker. not to say it can't be done, but it can't be easier than with what's already out there. sound in a pack is no big deal so long as you put it in the main shell. Mine has a big as honking 12 inch speaker in it ;o) Click to expand...

Whilst not impossible you would find it extremely difficult to fit a light kit, sound module and speaker into a Thrower. I have the GBFans light kit and it takes up the majority of room in my Nickatron thrower. Throwing Chicken's thrower kit is fantastic and plenty of folks over on GBFans are very happy with his work. Sent from my XT1021 using Tapatalk
I've built two throwingChicken keep talking and one hero aluminum from Freeky Geeky... Not enough room for any quality sound and light board on the market. The GBFans light board just fits on one side with all the wiring that goes into the guts. How Mattel did it is beyond me, but from a consumer prop builder standpoint, it really isn't easy or worth the time. 99% of builders (myself included) will put the sound boards and speakers in the pack and the light kit in the wand. It's SO MUCH EASIER that way.

Hmmmm... Hell, even the PS4 Controller has a nice little speaker in it! Is it NOT the speaker that's the issue then? It's the sound modulator? Welp, if I didn't want sound and lights before, I sure as hell do now! LOL. Game on!

There are more than 20 towns in America called Moscow. Why?
The mystery of the Moscows of America also intrigued Erjan Aisabay, who set out to visit all of them and write a book about his experience. Aisabay, who was born in Kazakhstan but attended college in the original Moscow, launched his project hoping that America’s shared love of Russia’s capital city might help bring the two countries together.
But as Aisabay drove from state to state, his dream of finding a Russian connection dwindled. And some of America’s Muscovites turned out to be less than supportive. Like in Moscow, Texas, where his attempt to strike up a conversation didn’t turn out as planned.
“I say, ‘Hi my name is so and so, you know I’m writing a book about Moscows’ and then you know she looks at me like completely mistrust and she’s like ‘You should leave.’ … And I saw something that looked like a gun. … This was my last Moscow and I’m like, ‘I don’t want to die in my last Moscow!’”

A guide to the very best shopping in Moscow

While shopping in GUM department store be sure to check out its famous glass roof © Popova Valeriya / Shutterstock
Shopping in Moscow can be quite a daunting experience – you can walk for miles without finding anything but mass-market brands and overpriced boutiques. But, if you do it right, it can also be quite fun. Here are our top tips on how to get the most out of your shopping trip in Moscow.
There are many shopping malls all around Moscow, but there three that double as bona fide tourist attractions: GUM, TsUM and Detsky Mir, all within walking distance from each other. GUM is one of the oldest department stores in the country. It’s famous for the glass roof designed by one of Russia’s most celebrated architects, Vladimir Shukhov. Today it serves as a high-class shopping mall. There are plenty of luxury shops, a supermarket that sells lots of signature Russian goods and several places to eat. Head to the more expensive Bosco Cafe with a Kremlin view or, for a budget option, try the Soviet-style cafeteria Stolovaya No 57 . GUM also occasionally hosts contemporary art exhibitions in one of its three main aisles.
The Red Square and beyond: a guide to Moscow’s neighbourhoods
TsUM is another shopping mall from the pre-revolutionary times. It’s the most luxurious store in the city, famous for its paper bags that many Muscovites carry around or post pictures of on Instagram to let everyone know they shop there. Full of haute couture boutiques, TsUM also has a rooftop restaurant Buro , frequented by Russian celebrities. Tsentralny Detsky Mir children's store is perfect if you are looking for a gift for a kid or want to check out its awesome viewing platform with good views over central Moscow. At just R50 per ticket it’s a steal.
Food stalls and markets
There are two food markets that are worth checking out in Moscow. Danilovsky Market became the trailblazer of Moscow’s foodie revolution when it got an uplift in 2017. As well as many trendy food stalls, the market also hosts lectures, film viewing and even theatre productions, and it recently opened an antiques section. It’s an architectural landmark, a masterpiece of late Soviet modernism that looks like a UFO. Food at Usachevsky Market tends to be a bit more pricey and upmarket. Both markets also sell plenty of fresh produce, local cheeses and cured meats.
Antiques and flea markets
Shopping can also be a way to get away from the major landmarks and explore some sights off the beaten path. Moscow’s #1 flea market is Izmailovsky , located in and around the pseudo-historical complex 'Izmailovsky Kremlin' with its colourful walls and domes. Open daily, it’s best to come here on the weekend to catch better deals. Admittedly tacky, Kremlin has a handful of weird museums like the Vodka History Museum or Baba Yaga Museum (Baba Yaga is a Russian fairy tale character). Part of the market had been gentrified into creative cluster Vernissage , with hipster coffee shops, various workshops and Svalka , an enormous two-floor secondhand shop with everything from used books to vintage clothing.
For high-class antiques, rare books and icons head to Antikvarnaya Lavka (Antique Store) just off Bolshaya Nikitskaya street (5 Kalashny Pereulok). Here you can snag a real masterpiece – a painting or a sculpture – but the prices are quite steep.
Four great day trips from Moscow
If you are looking for a more authentic place with less hustle, one option is the antiques market on the premises of vodka distillery Crystal (4 ul Samokatnaya), which you can reach by taking tram 20 to Samokatnaya ul from the exit of metro Chkalovskaya. The market is located in the basement of one of the red-brick factory buildings. There are plenty of antiques, books and various Soviet-time memorabilia, such as Stalin and Lenin busts. While at Crystal, be sure to check out great works of street art – they are all around the factory premises.
For die-hard antique collectors there’s also a place right outside of Moscow – Novopodrezkovo market (also know as Levsha market). Take a suburban train from Leningradsky station to Novopodrezkovo (approximately half an hour), cross the tracks to the other side and there you’ll find it – a treasure trove of used books, vinyl records, clothing, paintings and antique furniture.
Where to shop for Russian designs
Gosha Rubchinskiy might be the only Russian clothing designer of world renown, especially after his collaboration with Kanye West, but there are many more up-and-coming fashion stars worth checking out. One of the places to do it is KM20 , the place Moscow fashionistas, with streetwear brands from all over the world and a lot of very rare items. There's also one of the best vegetarian cafes in Moscow on second floor.
GUM shopping mall has a two-storey store devoted to Russian designers – Sektsiya (Section). Section sells products made by 50 Russian brands, from accessories to Heart of Moscow souvenir pins. Plus there’s a bar overlooking the Red Square.
If you are not into high fashion, but still interested in getting a cool outfit with Cyrillic script, check out the creative cluster centred around two abandoned factories: Flakon and Khlebozavod . One of the biggest stores is Zaporozhets Heritage at Flakon , which sells clothing and accessories styled after various Soviet pop culture icons. The northern part, Khlebozavod, hosts several shops like Yunost and Khlebny that take a more punk-rock approach to streetwear. After shopping, have a pint at a great local craft beer bar Svoboda or a coffee at Floo .
Sputnik 1985 is a Russian clothing brand specialising in hoodies and hats with quotes in Cyrillic and retro prints. The store is located in a courtyard on Pokrovka street (19 Ulitsa Pokrovka).
