Best Ghost Face Builds In Dead By Daylight (December 2023)

Table of Contents

Perk: i'm all ears, perk: thrilling tremors, perk: furtive chase, power: night shroud, best ghost face builds in dead by daylight, beginner ghost face build, chase/regression ghost face build, tracking ghost face build, what are the best perks for the ghost face.

Ghost Face is one of many legends of horror that has made his way into the 4v1 horror game Dead by Daylight. He is known for his ability to Stalk and Mark survivors, making them vulnerable. Many people, though, do not find him easy to play, as survivors can easily reveal you if you aren't careful.

Using good perks on this killer, though, can help you improve your gameplay. So if you're looking to learn which perks are best for The Ghost Face, look no further than our build guide for this killer.

The Ghost Face Power And Perks

Before we delve into the best builds for The Ghost Face, let's look at this killer's power and teachable perks so you know what you're working with.

First, here are The Ghost Face's three teachable perks:

Survivors performing a rushed action near you have their auras temporarily revealed.

After picking up a Survivor, all generators not being repaired are blocked by The Entity, highlighted by a white aura, and cannot be repaired for a short duration.

  • You become obsessed with one Survivor. When your obsession is hooked, Furtive Chase receives a Token. Each token decreases your terror radius while in a chase.

The Ghost Face's power is called 'Night Shroud.' The in-game description reads as follows:

  • "The Ghost Face used to study his victims for weeks, meticulously registering their habits. When the urge to kill swelled, he’d know exactly how and where to strike.
  • Press the Power button to activate Night Shroud when the Power gauge is full to become Undetectable. Performing a Basic Attack depletes the Power gauge and deactivates Night Shroud. Survivors within close proximity to The Ghost Face may attempt to reveal him by looking in his direction for a short duration, doing so deactivates Night Shroud and reveals their location with Killer Instinct for a short duration.
  • Hold down the Power button to stalk Survivors when Night Shroud is active. Hold down the Power button when behind cover to lean out and stalk at a faster rate. Mark Survivors by fully stalking them to temporarily apply the Exposed status effect.
  • Special ability: Press the Active Ability button to crouch. Press it again when crouched to stand. The Ghost Face moves at a slower speed when crouched."

dead by daylight ghost face builds

The Ghost Face is not an easy killer to learn, as we've mentioned. While he is mechanically simple, there are a lot of tips and tricks to playing him. As such, there are tons of different builds that work well on The Ghost Face.

As such, we'll give you several options so you can put together a build that works for you and the way you play.

If you are just getting started as a new Ghost Face main, it might be hard to decide what aspects of gameplay you want your build to focus on. As a Ghost Face beginner, you'll want a well-rounded mix of tracking perks and slowdown perks.

  • Thrilling Tremors (The Ghost Face)
  • I'm All Ears (The Ghost Face)
  • Sloppy Butcher

All of the perks included in this build are generic, meaning they either come by default with The Ghost Face or can be found in the Bloodweb of all killers without prestiging or reaching level 50 .

This build offers you tracking on survivors through Whispers, allowing you to find them and, ideally, sneak up on them and Mark them. Thrilling Tremors offers you additional tracking and some slowdown, while I'm All Ears ensures you can finish chases. Sloppy Butcher is added in for a little extra slowdown, making this the best Ghost Face build possible using general perks.

If our beginner Ghost Face build doesn't catch your eye, might we suggest another loadout that focuses on a strategic approach to preventing survivors from completing the generators.

  • Spirit Fury (The Spirit)
  • Enduring (The Hillbilly)
  • Pop Goes The Weasel (The Clown)
  • Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance (The Artist)

Spirit Fury and Enduring should give you the edge in chases, allowing you to catch up on survivors even without your special ability. Pop Goes The Weasel and Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance will apply extra slowdown and pressure to the survivors after you get that down.

the ghost face best build tracking build

As The Ghost Face, your main power requires you to track down survivors and stalk them. As such, you'll need to find them before they find you. This build will help you ensure you constantly have an idea of where the survivors are, so you can sneak up on them and get those Marks.

  • Discordance (The Legion)
  • Infectious Fright (The Plague)

Whispers will ensure you are never in a dead zone, while Discordance will help you identify which particular generators need your attention at any given moment. Infectious Fright allows you to keep track of all survivors in the area when they scream. Finally, I'm All Ears gives you even more insurance, making sure you don't lose survivors, and you can land that final hit after the chase begins.

We've given you some builds to test out on The Ghost Face, but you might be wondering what the best perks are on him.

A few of the best perks on Ghost Face are:

  • Hex: Ruin (The Hag)
  • Eruption (The Nemesis)

We recommend mixing and matching the perks in the builds we've provided to create your favorite loadout. As you familiarize yourself with this killer, you'll determine which perks are your favorites and be able to mix and match these perks effectively.

Thriving in the shadows, the key to mastering his playstyle is to cling tightly to corners and carefully observe Survivors without being spotted. Though a master of stealth, Dead by Daylight ’s Ghost Face can struggle in a straight-up chase with his lack of anti-loop; therefore, this Killer plays best with the right perks to empower his weaker aspects.

This guide will teach players the best builds to use with The Ghost Face in Dead by Daylight , featuring teachable and non-teachable perks for players of varying prestige levels.

UPDATE: 2023/11/06 12:11 EST BY LEWIS SMYTH

In 2023, Dead by Daylight developers Behaviour Interactive has sought to move away from the metas that have defined the gameplay in late 2022. As such, this updated article features new and buffed perks that complement the playstyle of Scream 's showstopping slasher, Ghost Face.

RELATED: Dead By Daylight: Best Builds for The Executioner

Without a great range of powerful base perks, The Ghost Face can be a little intimidating for newer players. Luckily, The Ghost Face comes with useful information perks like Thrilling Tremors that allow him to see progressed generators from afar. This build concentrates on pressuring these generators and chasing Survivors from them while slowing down their healing speeds.

  • Thrilling Tremors (The Ghost Face) – After picking up a Survivor, all generators not being repaired by Survivors are blocked by the Entity for 16 seconds. This effect can be triggered once every 60 seconds.
  • Jolt (General Perk) – Downing a Survivor causes all generators within a 32–meter radius to lose 8% progress.
  • Sloppy Butcher (General Perk) – Basic attacks cause the Mangled and Hemorrhage status ailments, slowing down healing by 25% and regressing healing progress when left unfinished.
  • Hex: No One Escapes Death (General Perk) – After the final generator is completed, all survivors suffer from the Exposed status ailment and users gain a 4% Haste effect until the Hex Totem is cleansed.

As aforementioned, The Ghost Face can struggle in a chase due to his lack of anti-loop. As such, it can be most efficient to run stick to use some of Dead by Daylight 's strongest slowdown perks along with The Nemesis perk Lethal Pursuer to apply plenty of early-game pressure.

  • Lethal Pursuer (The Nemesis) – At the start of the trial, all survivor's auras are revealed for 9 seconds. This perk also increases the duration of other aura–reading abilities by an extra 2 seconds.
  • Corrupt Intervention (The Plague) – At the start of the trial, the 3 generators furthest from the killer's starting location are blocked for 120 seconds or until the first survivor is downed.
  • Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance (The Artist) – The Killer starts with four tokens. For each different Survivor hooked on a white Scourge Hook, lose one token and explode the generator with the most progress, causing it to lose 25% of progress.

Dead by Daylight is currently available for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

Dead By Daylight Ghost Face build (November 2023)

The Ghost Face is yet another horror icon that now thrives in Dead by Daylight.

Image of Ghost Face in Dead By Daylight.

The best Dead By Daylight Ghost Face build uses his stealth and unique add-ons to their best effect. The Ghost Face is a figure that’s widely recognizable for any horror fans out there, but this Killer is unique in comparison to the renditions in the Scream films. Ghost Face has been hit with a handful of buffs, increasing movement speed while crouched, Night Shroud recharge time, and more. For this reason, we have gone over our guide, emphasising how best to use his power, alongside the best perks and addons for him.

Table of Contents

Ghost Face has three unique perks that can be unlocked for other Killers via the Bloodweb.

I’m All Ears

A Survivor performing a Rushed Action within 48 metres of your location has their Aura revealed for 6 seconds. The cooldown for the perk is 60/50/40 seconds.

Thrilling Tremors

After picking up a downed Survivor, all Generators not being worked on will be blocked by the Entity for 16 seconds. Auras of blocked Generators are highlighted in white. The cooldown for the perk is 100/80/60 seconds.

Furtive Chase

Every time you hook your Obsession, you gain 1 Token up to a maximum of 2/3/4. When a Survivor rescues the Obsession from the Hook, that Survivor becomes the new Obsession. You lose all Tokens once the Obsession is Sacrificed or Killed.

We would go with the following perks for the Best possible Ghost Face Build:

Lethal Pursuer ( The Nemesis Perk)

At the start of the Trial, all the survivors will have an aura that reveals them for 9 seconds. Lethal Pursuer will also increase the duration of other aura-reading abilities by 2 seconds.

Nowhere to Hide (The Knight Perk)

Kicking a generator will reveal survivors' auras within a 24-metre radius for 5 seconds.

Call of The Brine (The Onryo Perk)

A Hex that will greatly affect the repair progress of the generators. Once a generator is damaged, it regresses at 150/175/200% speed and will be revealed in a yellow aura.

Infectious Fright ( The Plague Perk)

Whenever a Survivor is put into the Dying State by any means, all other Survivors within your Terror Radius will scream and reveal their current location to you for 4/5/6 seconds.

If you are looking for other builds to follow to change up the meta, you should follow these builds made by content creators.

Old School Ghost Face build by RedsGamingGears

The Old School Ghost Face build is actually one of the original builds of this particular killer when it started out. It was recently revived by YouTuber RedsGamingGears offering insight on its various perks and add-ons.

  • Jolt (The Demogorgon)
  • Fearmonger (The Demogorgon)
  • Lethal Pursuer (The Nemesis)
  • Barbecue & Chili (The Cannibal)

Let's start off with Jolt, which is a very rare perk by The Demogorgon. It can put a Survivor into a dying state with only a basic attack. It can also make all generators within a 32-meter radius explode instantly and begin regressing. Those that get affected will immediately lose 8 percent of their progress, which is truly terrifying for the Survivors.

Fearmonger is another Demogorgon perk that will afflict Survivors with Blindness and Exhausted status effects while repairing generators. They will not see Ghost Face coming with the status effects.

Third is the Lethal Pursuer which shows auras of Survivors at the start for 9 seconds, just enough for Ghost Face to track down. If an aura of a Survivor is shown for a period of time, this will be extended 2 more seconds.

Last is Barbecue and Chili, the Cannibal perk, which will show all Survivors' auras after one Survivor gets hooked. It will be shown for 5 seconds within 40 meters from the hook.

Chase/Regression Ghost Face build

  • Spirit Fury (The Spirit)
  • Enduring (The Hillbilly)
  • Pop Goes The Weasel (The Clown)
  • Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance (The Artist)

This is another Ghost Face build that you should try out. Most Ghost Face builds are all about easily locating the Survivors and chasing them down so this build is perfect. Spirit Fury and Enduring gives you the advantage in chases, which allows you to catch up to them in no time without even using your special ability. With the last two perks, it will pressure your victims and slow them down until you catch up.

The Ghost Face’s power is called Night Shroud . When the Night Shroud is activated via the power button, The Ghost Face gains the Undetectable status effect. This allows you to move through the map, undetected and with no Terror Radius. Because of this, you’re able to sneak up on suspecting Survivors and use your other abilities: Stalk and Crouch.

The Ghost Face uses Stalk to grow in power and then, after fully filling the Stalk meter (which is easier to do if you lean and Stalk), marks the Survivor. This makes them Exposed - meaning you can hit them one and put them into the Dying State. You’re unable to Stalk until you’re using your Night Shroud ability.

The Crouch ability makes sneaking up on Survivors much easier, though much like The Pig, the use of Crouch decreases The Ghost Face’s Movement Speed to 3.8m/s.

However, there are still ways to be broken out of your Night Shroud. If you use your Basic Attack then the Night Shroud is immediately broken, but if Survivors reveal you by looking at you directly then you also lose your power.

Our creepy masked Killer works best with add-ons that increase his Night Shroud recovery time, as well as increase the speed of his Stalk meter - whether that be by leaning and stalking or just stalking from afar. Anything that lets you do either of these things is powerful and should generally be added to your build.

This add-on will make it harder for dying survivors to reveal the Killer, which makes it easier for Ghost Face to stalk more enemies.

Outdoor Security Camera

The Outdoor Security Camera will make it easier to stalk all of the survivors. This add-on marks a survivor when they are in a dying state, which allows our masked man to see survivors outside his terror radius.

Lasting Perfume

Much like Chewed Pen, this add-on will make it harder for survivors to reveal Ghost Face. Survivors who are hooked will take an extra 3 seconds to reveal the Killer.

Caught on Tape

This Ghost Face add-on will make it easier for him to hunt. Caught On Tape will reveal the aura of every survivor for 7 seconds whenever Ghost Face downs a marked survivor into the Dying State.

  • Leaning will have you stalking Survivors a lot faster than if you stalk while simply standing or crouching out in the open. The faster you stalk, the less time Survivors have to break you out of your Night Shroud.
  • Don’t stalk Survivors from a huge distance. While it can be helpful to stalk them to a certain point (99% of Stalk), if you Mark them from far away they’ll know that you’re coming to get them and can make a huge amount of distance. It’s always best to be moderate with stalking distance.
  • If possible, 99% Survivors stalk meters, and if you’re certain that you can’t down them there and then because they aren’t in a good place (aka a very strong loop or Pallet) then don’t Mark them. Instead, wait for a more opportune moment.
  • This may sound obvious but don’t bother stalking Survivors who are already injured if you can just go up to them and slash at them with a Basic Attack. Stalking them just wastes precious time and is ultimately only helpful if you, again, use it just to 99% them.
  • Activating your Night Shroud while in Chase can be effective in confusing the Survivor you’re after because of your lack of a Terror Radius as well as your Red Stain. This can give you the advantage in a Chase if you use it right, but remember that smart Survivors might not be at all fooled.
  • Like all Stealth Killers, look a little away from the Generator you’re sneaking up on, just in case the Survivors have Spine Chill and move off the Generator before you can get a hit on them.

But there you have it, that's all you need to know about the best Ghost Face builds in Dead by Daylight.

Dead by Daylight The Ghost Face Builds

Dead by Daylight The Ghost Face Builds

The Ghost Face, aka Danny Johnson, added to Dead by Daylight in 2019, is a fun character.  Behaviour’s  version of the classic slasher is a focused man with an eye for detail, which influences every part of his kit. In this guide, we take a look at some of thee best   Dead by Daylight The Ghost Face builds.

The best DbD builds for The Ghost Face focus on Map Awareness and building off his Stealth Power.

Dead by Daylight Best The Ghost Face Builds

These are the best The Ghost Face builds in Dead by Daylight:

Totem Expert

Smarts over strength, hit and run.

The Totem Expert build focuses on Map Awareness and Survivor Debuffs using Hex Perks.

Here are the Perks and Add-ons in the Totem Expert build:

  • Outdoor Security Camera (Ultra Rare)
  • Olsen’s Address Book (Uncommon)
  • Hex: Plaything (From the Spirit)
  • Hex: Retribution (From The Deathslinger)
  • Hex: Pentimento (From The Artist)
  • Shattered Hope (Base Perk)

The Add-ons give Ghost Face extra ways to track Survivors not tied to his Perks. This is important; Hex Perks are vulnerable by design.

Plaything ,  Retribution , and  Pentimento  is the main combo. After their first Hook, Survivors cannot hear the Terror Radius so Ghost Face can ambush them even without his Power. This forces Surviors to cleanse Totems, which directly plays into the Killer’s hands with Retribution and Pentimento. If Ghost Face can relight all 5 Totems, he has a massive edge over the Survivors that can’t be removed.

Shattered Hope is to help with Boon Totems. Now the Killer can break them outright for Pentimento while providing even more map awareness.

Dead by Daylight The Ghost Face Builds

The Smarts over Strength build focuses on stronger Chase power and snowball potential.

Here are the Perks and Add-ons in the Smarts over Strength build:

  • Drop-Leg Knife Sheath (Very Rare)
  • Victim’s Detailed Routine (Very Rare)
  • Scourge Hook: Floods of Rage (From the Onryo)
  • Jolt (Base Perk)
  • Make Your Choice (From the Pig)
  • Surveillance (From the Pig)

While they share a Stalking mechanic, Ghost Face is not  Michael Myers . He works smarter, not harder. His Add-ons let him quickly close the gap on a Marked Survivor.

The combo of Stealth and good Add-ons means Ghost Face can end chases quickly near half-fixed Generators, robbing them of progress with Jolt. Surveillance tells him which Generators Survivors have returned to after a Jolt proc. The extra repair noise means he can locate Survivors more easily, especially in the early game.

Unlike Myers, Ghost Face’s Power doesn’t work if Survivors are looking at him.  Make Your Choice  gives him another way to get 1-hit Downs. It can also complement his Power to quickly send a Trial out of control.  Floods of Rage  shows him exactly where to find  Survivor Exposed  by Make Your Choice. If he’s out of position, he still gets info on the rest of the team.

The Hit and Run build focuses on Stealth to land easy hits.

Here are the Perks and Add-ons in the Hit and Run build:

  • Walleye’s Matchbook (Common)
  • Olsen’s Wallet (Rare)
  • Save the Best for Last (From The Shape)
  • A Nurse’s Calling (From The Nurse)
  • Sloppy Butcher (Base Perk)

The Add-ons are for recharging Ghost Face’s Night Shroud power ASAP. With these Ghost Face has access to it frequently.

Sometimes, when a Survivor is hit, it’s better to follow through. Save the Best for Last means Ghost Face loses less distance after a hit. Sloppy Butcher makes Healing take longer, which adds up across multiple injuries.

With A Nurse’s Calling , Circle of Healing totems should be left alone. Ghost Face knows exactly where to look for healing Survivors; A Nurse’s Calling helps him home in on them. If they’re running Shadow Step too to block the effect, break them as normal with Shattered Hope .

This was our guide for the best Dead by Daylight The Ghost Face builds. As usual, our comments are open to any missed details or disagreements.

Our Guides Section  has more builds and tips. We cover  Dead by Daylight  and other games too.

ghostface build dbd 2023

Image via Behaviour Interactive

The mysterious Ghostface was added to Dead by Daylight in June 2019. Just like how he is in the Scream films, this beloved killer likes to roam in the shadows and catch his victims by surprise. If you want to dominate your games as Ghostface, you’ll need a build that makes his early game easier and gives him some much-needed map pressure.

Corrupt Intervention

This aggressive perk is seen on a lot of killers, and for good reason. At the start of a match, Corrupt Intervention blocks the three furthest generators from you for 80/100/120 seconds. This forces survivors to come to you, allowing you to get some early hits on players and potentially even hooking them within the first few minutes of the match.

As you’re roaming the map quietly, you’ll want to get an idea of where survivors are and Discordance is a fantastic perk to help you with that. Whenever two or more survivors are working on a generator, that generator’s aura will be revealed to you. Commonly, survivors will group up and do objectives together. Teaming up is a good way for survivors to get objectives done faster, but with Discordance, you’ll be able to put an end to the teamwork and force the players to split up.

Pop Goes the Weasel

After hooking a survivor, Pop Goes the Weasel activates for 35/40/45 seconds. The next generator you damage within that time period will instantly lose 25% of its progression. This perk gives Ghostface that map pressure he so desperately needs.

Whispers indicate when a player is within 48/40/32 meters of your location. This helps with tracking down any players who might not be working on generators and are instead healing another player or trying to sneak around the map.

In terms of items, you’ll want to equip Driver’s License and Olsen’s Journal. The major downside to Ghostface’s Night Shroud power is that a survivor can reveal you if you’re within 32 meters of them. If that happens, your Power gauge gets depleted and your ability goes on a 24-second cooldown.

Driver’s License makes it so that survivors can only reveal you if you’re within 24 meters. Olsen’s Journal increases your movement speed while Stalking by 20%. Speed can sometimes be the determining factor to whether a killer wins their game or not. Since you’ll be Stalking a lot as Ghostface, you’ll need to be able to move fast to get around the map and stay on a survivor’s trail.

DBD Ghostface Guide: How To Play The Ghostface Like A Pro [25 Useful Ghostface Tips You Should Know]

Dead By Daylight Ghost Face, Behaviour Interactive

Ghost Face is a killer that can be described as quite a sneaky killer, with no idea what to expect. Its powers range from long-range stalking to having the ability to crouch and be able to mind game to surprise survivors and go for the sacrifice.

Nonetheless, in this article, we are going to show you the best 25 tips & tricks you should know for the Ghost Face so that you could have successful gameplay with an increased chance of winning the game.

25. Be aware of the killer instinct

The survivors have the ability to spot and reveal Ghost Face up to 32 metres. Whenever a survivor is looking at you whilst you are in stealth, you'll be given a visible and audible cue that someone is looking at you.

Therefore, this allows you as a killer to spot the survivor, and go for the chase.

Video guide:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vxXMadr8PI&t=2m35s

Guide Presented by SpookyLoopz starting at 2:35 of the video

24. Survivors cannot reveal you once in a locker

One of the things that survivors cannot do is reveal Ghost Face once entering the locker.

Therefore it is a good thing to know if you are chasing a survivor, and you are not being revealed anymore, they are mostly like hiding somewhere such as in a locker.

Video guide:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vxXMadr8PI&t=2m55s

Guide Presented by SpookyLoopz starting at 2:55 of the video

23. Survivors can reveal you even on hooks

Another important thing to know about revealing Ghost Face is the fact that survivors are able to reveal you even if they are hooked on the hook.

Therefore if you are in stealth mode, and you don't see anyone except the survivor who is hooked who is revealing you, it is most likely the survivor who is hooked, especially effective when they are on high ground such as on hooks which stand on the hill.

Video guide:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vxXMadr8PI&t=3m00s

Guide Presented by SpookyLoopz starting at 3:00 of the video

22. Methods of putting your night shroud power on cooldown

Being revealed is one of the ways of putting your power to sleep or cool down. Other ways of putting a night shroud on a cool-down are things such as landing a successful attack, missing an attack or grabbing a survivor out from a generator/locker.

The power has a cooldown of 30 seconds which is worth remembering, especially deciding whether you should take the attack and risk it if you miss your attack.

Video guide:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vxXMadr8PI&t=3m04s

Guide Presented by SpookyLoopz starting at 3:04 of the video

21. Marking and stalking your survivor timing

The time it takes to completely mark a survivor is 5 seconds, as long as the survivor is around 25% visible, therefore having the ability to see more than 25% character, enabling you to stalk if half of the survivor's body is crouching behind a rock.

20. Method of stalking from a lean

The most approachable and efficient way of stalking the survivors is by stalking them from a lean, as Ghost Face is the only killer in the game who has the ability to peek around from the corners.

Nevertheless, when stalking from a lean, you will be able to stalk and mark survivors 50% faster, no matter if they are crouching or standing up.

Video guide:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vxXMadr8PI&t=3m30s

Guide Presented by SpookyLoopz starting at 3:30 of the video

19. Ghost Face maximum stalking distance limit

Ghost Face can stalk survivors at a maximum distance of 40 metres, which is around 8 metres less than the survivors need to reveal the killer.

Therefore, with this method, you could use the tactic of stalking the survivors from 40 metres away without being revealed, which is the same distance as the height of 20 survivors.

Video guide:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vxXMadr8PI&t=4m08s

Guide Presented by SpookyLoopz starting at 4:08 of the video

18. Stalking at a large group of survivors

As Ghost Face, you have the ability to mark multiple survivors at the same time, with the same similar ability as Michael Myers, aka 'The Shape'.

Therefore you could use this power as an advantage and be able to hit multiple survivors at the same time and go on a killing spree.

Video guide:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vxXMadr8PI&t=4m20s

Guide Presented by SpookyLoopz starting at 4:20 of the video

17. The Decision of exposing survivors 'The 99% method'

As each survivor has a marking 'gauge' on their image to show how much they have been revealed by the killer, it means you can control how much you can expose them, and use this as an advantage.

For instance, you would 99% one of the survivors from a far distance, and then when you get close to them, you would then finish the exposing status, and go for an easy down on the survivor.

Video guide:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vxXMadr8PI&t=4m25s

Guide Presented by SpookyLoopz starting at 4:25 of the video

16. Ghost Face is map dependant - not suited for some environments

Ghost Face can be described as a very map-dependent killer, which can be very powerful or very weak depending on the map and area.

For instance, Ghost Face is very weak in open-spaced areas, and therefore it would be important to be aware of survivors and find appropriate areas which are suited for stalking, and not go into open spaces, as it will break the pressure on survivors and most likely lose the game.

Video guide:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vxXMadr8PI&t=4m49s

Guide Presented by SpookyLoopz starting at 4:49 of the video

15. Cut the line of sight when necessary

In some situations, it would is critically important to cut the 'line of sight' from survivors. For instance, if you see that the survivor is looking around for too long, it means that the survivor is aware of being stalked and therefore is trying to reveal you.

In most cases, nothing will happen, and therefore you would have the ability to 99%; however, better gameplay would be catching them by surprise, and therefore when you were to be nearly revealed, it is best to cut the line of sight and go on onto another survivor, or stalk from a different perspective.

Video guide:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vxXMadr8PI&t=4m52s

Guide Presented by SpookyLoopz starting at 4:52 of the video

14. Activate night shroud when with injured survivors

Activating the night shroud whilst in a chase with an injured survivor is the best and fastest way of getting the hit on the survivor. This will have the ability to mute your red stain and take the advantage of the survivor's loss of information, therefore having the ability to mind game them effortlessly and go for an easy down on the survivor.

Video guide:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vxXMadr8PI&t=5m25s

Guide Presented by SpookyLoopz starting at 5:25 of the video

13. Chasing whilst crouching *is not recommended*

Whilst in a chase with the survivor, it is not recommended to activate the night shroud and go in a chase whilst crouching, as it will only make the chase slower and eventually you will not catch up on the survivor, as the crouching speed is only 90% if the base speed, so you would be moving at around 3.8m/s.

However, doing so around small loops can be advantageous as it hides your red stain and therefore you will have the ability to do mind games.

Video guide:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vxXMadr8PI&t=5m40s

Guide Presented by SpookyLoopz starting at 5:40 of the video

12. Ghostface isn't completely silent - take opportunities asap

When activating 'night shroud', you might think that the killer is silent because he is hiding his red stain and his terror radius; however, this is not completely true. When Ghost Face is very close, survivors would be able to hear silent footsteps and the killer's small whispering breathing.

There it is recommended to take advantage as soon as the survivors realise that they are in danger.

Video guide:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vxXMadr8PI&t=5m55s

Guide Presented by SpookyLoopz starting at 5:55 of the video

11. The best ways to get stalks in - hook stalking

One of the best ways to get a lot of stalks in on the survivors is to hook someone far away and then stalk them around the corner, especially when the survivor is coming to save that survivor.

Nonetheless, you can find what is called a 'sweet spot' where you could find a place to stalk the survivor on the hook without him having the possibility to reveal you.

Video guide:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q56twiYnj4o&t=2m08s

Guide Presented by Rowby starting at 2:08 of the video

10. Use the advantage of maps such as Ormond or The Swamp

With Ghost Face, you use the map advantages such as Ormond or The Swamp which will let you find the sweet spots on the map and be able to stalk survivors effortlessly, such as in hug ground places like on top of the boat which is located in Ormond, right in the centre of the map which will let you stalk survivors in all sorts of angles possible.

Guide Presented by Rowby starting at 2:25 of the video

9. Take perk advantages for Ghost Face

Ghost Face is a pretty slow killer compared to the other killers, therefore, you should be able to use perks that will create synergy with the killer itself.

For instance, in the clip, Rowby shows perks that are good for slower killers, and fast killers, with one of the most common useful perks for Ghost Face being thanatophobia, which is recommended when you want to slow the game down.

Video guide:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q56twiYnj4o&t=10m56s

Guide Presented by Rowby starting at 10:56 of the video

8. The use of the perk 'Surveillance' on Ghost Face

Surveillance is a beautiful perk to use on the Ghost Face, as there are many tactics you can use with the perk. With surveillance, generators that are being regressed can be seen with normal generator auras; however, once the generators are interrupted by the survivors, you can use this advantage, and therefore be able to stalk the survivors on the generator, as you know the exact position where they are on the map.

Video guide:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q56twiYnj4o&t=12m54s

Guide Presented by Rowby starting at 12:54 of the video

7. The use of the perk 'Hex: Haunted Ground' on Ghost Face

Hex: Haunted Ground is a great perk to use on the killer, as it gives you the ability to expose every survivor in the game without having to use any effort of exposing them manually, and therefore use its main power of undetectability to catch and hit the survivors.

Nonetheless, at the same time, it would generate a great amount of pressure and therefore slow down the game.

More information about the perk:  https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Hex:_Haunted_Ground

6. Use the ability of 'crouching' to avoid being revealed

As Ghost Face, unlike any other killer, except the pig, you have the ability to crouch during the game, therefore there are lots of things you can do to avoid any game disruptions.

One of the things that you could do to use crouching as your advantage would be to avoid the survivors' revealing methods, such as crouching with only the face visible, they would not be able to reveal you, which is a great method of exposing survivors without having to be revealed yourself.

Video guide:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q56twiYnj4o&t=14m40s

Guide Presented by Rowby starting at 14:40 of the video

5. Using Stalking as the 'bait' method

Not a lot of people know about this trick; however, if you were to stalk someone, and get them at 90% progress or somewhere around that, if you were to find that survivor in the locker or managed to grab them, you would be able to save that exposing percentage progress by dropping them down on the floor.

It is not a recommended tactic; however, it can be useful in situations where you want to use the survivor as 'bait', or when you have a plan of downing 2 survivors at the same time if a survivor was to come and heal.

Video guide:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWF6A4SvoEs&t=4m05s

Guide Presented by Jaee starting at 4:05 of the video

4. The 'Sliding' stalking method

One of the tricks you can do with Ghost Face is using the method of 'sliding' where when you stalk whilst leaning across an object, you are able to also move your body around, with the continued progress of x2 faster-exposing status, which is very useful if the survivor is running around and you want a faster exposure on the survivor.

Video guide:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWF6A4SvoEs&t=5m00s

Guide Presented by Jaee starting at 5:00 of the video

3. The Crouching '1,2,3 wait' method

With the crouching 1,2,3 wait, it is a method that is used whilst you are crouching, and when a survivor is near you. So basically, a survivor would be looking somewhere which is the 1 second, then they would look somewhere else, which is 2 seconds and lastly the 3 seconds which is an immediate hit. It is like a quick-thinking action and sometimes it is based on luck as the survivor could have been looking in your direction during your 2 seconds.

Video guide:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWF6A4SvoEs&t=7m20s

Guide Presented by Jaee starting at 7:20 of the video

2. The closing 'hatch camp' method

This technique comes in when there is the last survivor and a hatch stand-off, and basically, when you are in cloak mode, you can hide your terror radius and crouch on the hatch. Once the survivor is nearby, they would not be able to enter the hatch as you are standing on top of it, so then you would be able to close the hatch in front of them and then go for a kill. It is basically like camping a hatch and using it as bait.

1. Jaae's The Possum Play with Ghost Face

One of the great tactics you could use with Ghost Face is called the Possum play. How it works is you hide in a specific area where you are in a loop with the survivor, for instance, a great place would be the jungle gym or L-T walls, and basically, you would go in stealth mode and then wait for the survivors, and hear their grunts of pain, until the moment you realise where they are, and then go for an easy down.

Best Ghostface Build in DBD

Best Ghostface Build in DBD

With 27 killers currently available for use in Dead By Daylight, it’s only natural that everyone will choose their favorite according to their play style. When we think of the terrifying horror icons that Behaviour Interactive’s game houses, some of the most aggressive killers come to mind. But not all of them are unstoppable killing machines, others will take a much more stealthy approach and attack you when you least expect it.

This guide is dedicated to the best Ghostface build in DBD and how to play Ghostface properly. Ghostface is the most intelligent and strategic killer in the game. The only killer from whom you must not only hide from him, but he must hide from you. And if you don’t find him in time, you are about to get the scare of your life.

Table of Contents

Night Shroud

Night Shroud

Ghostface’s power is Night Shroud. This ability allows him to enter stealth mode, which causes his terror radius and cone of vision to disappear completely. While in stealth mode, GhostFace can stalk his victims. If he does so long enough, they will be marked for a limited time and go into the exposed mode, so Ghostface can put them in the Dying State in one hit. The only way for survivors to take him out of stealth mode is to stare at his position for a certain amount of time. This will reveal him and put Night Shroud on Cooldown for a few seconds.

To go along with this ability, GhostFace can also crouch and lean out from the edges of the map . Not only is the latter a great technique for survivors not to be able to detect you, but this killer will mark his targets even faster if he stalks while leaning out from a corner. The latest rework it received further improves its ability to catch survivors who are alone. With these changes, marked survivors cannot reveal him, so if Ghostface decides to chase him, the victim will have to escape from this killer without being able to hear his terror radio.

Tips for using The Ghostface

Ghostface is a killer with normal speed, so chases with him should be easy. At the beginning of the game, quickly search for survivors and try to mark them 99%. If you mark them too early, they will receive a notification that they are exposed and will run away. If you approach them in stealth mode and get 100% within a few centimeters, you will surely take them down without any problems.

Focus on only one survivor at a time and if you are taken out of stealth mode, try not to hit the survivors you haven’t finished marking, as this will reset their stalking meter. Using Night Shroud in the middle of a chase is also very viable, as it gives you many possibilities to make mind games and you can gather the charge you are missing to catch that elusive survivor. And last but not least, remember the most important Ghostface tip: always stalk when leaning from a corner!

Best Ghostface Build

Here are some of the best perks for Ghostface and the current meta build for Ghostface:

Corrupt Intervention (The Plague)

An almost mandatory pick for all killers. Ghostface benefits a lot from this perk since at the beginning of the game he must generate a lot of pressure by marking survivors and playing as carefully as possible. This means that Ghostface can have a very slow start if detected quickly, but luckily, Corrupt Intervention will prevent those generators from being repaired too quickly.

Lethal Pursuer ( The Nemesis )

Another almost mandatory pick in Ghostface. As mentioned before, his early game can be a bit weak, since this killer needs to find survivors as fast as possible. This perk solves all his problems since from the beginning of the game it reveals where the survivors are, where they are going and which generator will start repairing them.

Pop Goes the Weasel (The Clown)

There is not much science with Pop Goes the Weasel. As with Corrupt Intervention, this perk will help Ghostface stay in the game. Survivors tend to return to the same generator they were working on before you took them down. This will give you time to take them down over and over again and make that generator never get finished.

Nurse Calling (The Nurse)

This perk is not recommended for many killers, as there are more useful detection perks than it. This is not the case with GhostFace, since he must constantly receive information about where the survivors are. Those seconds where they are healing are essential for him, as he can take them down before they finish healing. If you think you won’t make it in time, you can track the healing survivors and as soon as they finish healing, mark them and take them down again.

Worst Perks for The Ghostface

Beast of prey ( the huntress ).

This perk is very bad for Ghostface. First of all, you don’t need its effect, since Ghostface can disappear from his terror radius on his own. Also, this effect is activated by being in a chase for a long time. Allowing a chase to go on too long is the last thing you should do with this killer, as his entire playstyle is based on taking down survivors as fast as you can.

Enduring (The Hillbilly)

Getting hit by pallets is certainly not ideal in Ghostface. With the tips we gave you, the survivors shouldn’t even have time to reach the pallet. If they still do, they can use a strategy similar to Myers’: let them throw the pallet but don’t let them hit you, take advantage of that moment to stalk your victim and take him down in one hit. If you do it right, he won’t be able to reveal you and you will be able to continue without terror radius for the rest of the chase.

Monitor and Abuse (The Doctor)

Another perk that won’t do GhostFace much good. Whenever he plans an attack, GhostFace should be in stealth mode, so he can’t really make use of Monitor and Abuse’s terror radius reduction.

Infectious Fright (The Plague):

This Perk doesn’t fit the absolute with Ghostface’s style. This is not a killer that rampantly chases survivors and after taking one down, can focus on another. When you take down a survivor and there is another one nearby, ignore him and hang up on the one you took down, your targets should always be distracted survivors who are working on generators.

Best Add-ons Build for Ghostface

Ghost Face caught on Tape:

This add-on gives Ghostface the ability to regain his power as soon as he takes down a survivor. This is sensational for this killer since after taking down a survivor, he can immediately go and look for another victim.

Outdoor security camera:

In itself is not the best add-on, since the fact of knowing where all the survivors are as soon as you take down someone is not very useful for GhostFace, since he needs his power to attack other survivors. This changes if you also have the previous add-on, as the combination of these two infinitely increases the chasing potential of Ghostface.

Dead By Daylight Best Ghost Face Build (2022)

Dead By Daylight Best Ghost Face Build (2022)

What is the best Ghost Face build in Dead by Daylight? Hopefully, this guide will help get to the bottom of that question as well as giving players all the information they need to help elevate their skills with the killer originally from the Scream films.

Further down we’ll cover off his standard perks and powers as well as the perks we would opt for when trying to assemble the best Ghost Face build in Dead By Daylight. Naturally, this is subjective and we’ll always attempt to keep this page updated as new chapters and major updates are released.

Ghost Face Power & Perks

The Ghost Face killer has three unique perks that can be unlocked for other Killers via the Bloodweb. Alternatively, you can also unlock them via the games Shrine of Secrets .

We’ve detailed everything you need to know about these 3 main perks, just below.

In addition to his standard perks, Ghost Face can also use unique Power called Night Shroud . Here’s how it works:

“Become Undetectable, losing both Terror Radius and Red Stain. In this state, stalk individual Survivors to Mark them, leaving them Exposed and vulnerable to a one-hit down. Time your stalking process strategically to attack Survivors at opportune moments. A word of warning – Survivors can break the Night Shroud by catching extended sight of The Ghost Face.”

What are the best perks for Ghost Face?

When creating the best build for Ghost Face, we would personally opt for the following perks to maximise his potential:

• BBQ & Chili – This perk is unique to The Cannibal

A deep bond with The Entity unlocks potential in one’s Aura-reading ability. After hooking a Survivor, all other Survivors’ Auras are revealed to you for 4 seconds when they are farther than 40 metres from the Hook. Each time a Survivor is hooked for the first time, gain a stack-able 25 % bonus to all Bloodpoint gains, up to a maximum of several percent.

• Corrupt Intervention – This perk is unique to The Plague

At the start of the Trial, the 3 Generators located farthest from you are blocked by The Entity for several seconds.

• Hex Ruin – This perk is unique to The Hag

A Hex that affects all Survivor’s Generator Repair progress. All Generators automatically regress at percentage of the normal Regression speed whenever they are not being repaired. The Hex effects persist as long as the related Hex Totem is standing.

• Infectious Fright – This perk is unique to The Plague

Whenever a Survivor is put into the Dying State by any means, all other Survivors within your Terror Radius will scream and reveal their current location to you for 4/5/6 seconds.
