Motor Yacht

Roma is a 61.80m motor yacht, custom built in 2010 by Italian shipyard Viareggio SuperYachts. This yacht’s sophisticated exterior design and engineering are the work of Espen Oeino. Her contemporary interior was designed by Newcruise.

Roma represents the extraordinary second chapter in the history of VSY and rightly constitutes a determining factor. While maintaining all the technical elements which normally feature in VSY yachts, the very best components available on the world-wide market today have been selected - namely: an efficient top-of-the-range electronic infrastructure for ship automation and governance, a legendary dynamic positioning system and a myriad of environmentally friendly equipment enabling them to receive the ABS Class R2 classification. The General Plan of this yacht pays special attention not only to the Owner’s requirements but also to those of three VIP cabins situated on the upper deck - all of which have sweeping windows giving breathtaking views of the surrounding seascape which all sea-farers feel but do not always have the pleasure of seeing to such an extent. The internal design by Newcruise Yacht Project & Design naturally reflects the Owner’s personality: elegant simplicity in every detail and a notable lack of superfluous flamboyance. A symphony of light shades and colours creates a relaxing atmosphere for anyone privileged enough to experience life on board. The eyes feast on Madras silks, fine Townsend leathers, natural stones, Macassar ebony and a range of beautiful veneers all combined into furniture, accessories and fittings of clean simple lines which are a pure pleasure to behold. The first cruise in the Indian Ocean was scheduled immediately after delivery and is testimony to the trustworthiness and success of a project conceived and produced with the greatest flare and care: qualities which are, by now, fast becoming part of VSY’s international trade mark.

From bow to stern, RoMa is brimming with an fantastic array of social and dining areas, both inside and out, making her the ideal yacht for relaxing and entertaining whilst on charter. She has sensational features such as wheelchair accessibility, movie theatre, elevator and gym.

Guest Accommodation

Built in 2010, RoMa offers guest accommodation for up to 12 guests in 6 suites comprising a master suite, four double cabins and one twin cabin. There are 7 beds in total, including 1 king, 4 queen and 2 singles. She is also capable of carrying up to 17 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht charter experience.

Onboard Comfort & Entertainment

Keeping comfortable and entertained on RoMa is easy thanks to the available amenities including a dedicated library, where you can unwind in seclusion. Guests love watching a movie, or catching up on their favourite show or sporting event whenever they wish in the comfortable movie theatre. Take a plunge in the pool under the sun and in addition a gym with all the latest equipment is available for a good work out.

RoMa benefits from some excellent features to improve your charter including wheelchair-friendly access, making this vessel suitable for all guests. Effortlessly return to your stateroom from any other deck onboard the elevator and in addition you can stay comfortable on board whatever the weather, with air conditioning during your charter.

Performance & Range

RoMa is built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. Powered by twin Caterpillar engines, she comfortably cruises at 14 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 17 knots with a range of up to 6,000 nautical miles from her 158,000 litre fuel tanks at 12 knots. RoMa features at-anchor stabilizers providing exceptional comfort levels.

When not cruising RoMa has onboard an incredible selection of water toys and accessories for you and your guests to connect with the waters around you. Principle among these is a Flyboard, experience flying in and out of the water with the latest in high adrenaline watersport. Additionally, there is a waterslide for guests of all ages to enjoy. Take to the sea on the Jet Skis offering you power and control on the water. If that isn't enough RoMa also features waverunners, towable toys, scuba diving equipment, a seabob, kayaks and much more. RoMa features two tenders, but leading the pack is a 16.8m/55'1" Anvera Chase Tender to transport you in style.

RoMa and her crew are available for charter this summer for cruising within the Mediterranean. She is also accepting bookings this winter on request.

62m VSY motor yacht Roma sold in one month

The 61.8-metre motor yacht Roma has been sold with Lukas Stratmann of Ocean Independence representing the seller and Edmiston representing the buyer.

The environmentally-friendly yacht is the second VSY62 hull from Viareggio Superyachts ( VSY ) and is RINA Green Yacht certified. Built in steel and aluminium and delivered in 2010, her naval architecture is by Espen Oeino and her interior is by Newcruise and Gehr.

Accommodation is provided for up to 12 guests in six staterooms including a substantial main deck master suite with panoramic 270-degree views ahead and a bridge deck VIP. Three guest cabins are also located on the main deck and a twin cabin is found on the lower deck. There are quarters for a crew of up to 18.

Highlights aboard Roma include a cinema on the main deck and an elevator that runs from the lower deck to the bridge deck.

Up on the sun deck, a large pool and an air-conditioned gymnasium, as well as a dining table, give guests a choice of treating or pampering their bodies. 

Twin 2,680hp Caterpillar engines give the 1,090GT yacht a cruising speed of 14 knots and maximum speed of 17 knots.

The broker said that Roma is "the most awarded charter yacht in MYBA history".

Roma was asking €29,900,000 and lying in Mallorca, Spain.

M.  M.  Gromov Flight Research Institute or LII for short is an important Russian aircraft test base, scientific research center located in Zhukovsky, 40 km south-east of Moscow.
