Delta Powerboats

The inventive spirit.

Founded by a Swedish team of experienced yachtsmen and boat builders, the Delta philosophy is rooted in a strong tradition of Scandinavian yacht design. Our journey began with a limited range of pilothouse boats built for fast, comfortable and efficient island commuting in the archipelagos of Sweden. Today the range has evolved and encompasses agile day cruisers, versatile hardtop cabin cruisers and luxury-class performance yachts made of carbon fiber. Core features found across the range are our strong and user-friendly design concepts and high build quality along with outstanding fuel efficiency and hydrodynamic performance. 

In 2007 we introduced the Sidewalk concept with Delta 29 sw. An asymmetric deck arrangement that facilitates safe passages between the aft and the bow of the boat while providing increased interior space. In 2010 we challenged the status quo of the motoryacht industry whith the launch of Delta 54, the first production powerboat in the world made of carbon fiber, yielding a reduction of fuel consumption and emissions with up to 40 percent in our Carbon series. The pioneering  54 ips and the flagship 88 carbon have both been appointed winners at the MB&Y Motor Boat of the Year Awards.  

The pursuit of innovative solutions, new materials and technologies allows us to continuously refine our range and make the boats even more comfortable, safe and efficient. This is made possible thanks to the 140 dedicated engineers and craftsmen employed at the Delta factory, located on the island of Saaremaa off the Estonian coast. So far, a total of 600 Delta have been built and delivered to owners all over the world. 

To enable us to create the most memorable yachting experience for our customers, we do not treat customers as such. Rather, we develop a client relationship. From sea trials to final delivery, we have an ongoing dialogue and as a prospective Delta owner you are welcome to suggest improvements and adaptions to your new boat or to visit the factory while your boat is being built. In that sense all of our boats are made to order, co-created with the client, making each Delta unique and devised for her owner’s pride and pleasure.

Swedish shipbuilder Delta Powerboats launched the 25.72m/84’4″ motor yacht Delta Carbon 88 . Lars Modin has designed the yacht’s exterior profile, naval architecture and interiors. 

Delta Carton 88 – exterior

The exterior has some resemblance with Steve Jobs’s motor yacht VENUS , however, Delta Carbon 88 is much smaller than the bespoke 78m superyacht.

Accommodation layout includes a master suite of a full-beam size, a VIP cabin and two twin cabins, for a total of 10 guests. The yacht can be run by the owner himself, of by a small crew of two.

The cockpit is designed for dining alfresco, socialising and sunbathing.

Delta Carbon 88 is powered by three Volvo IPS1200 engines, which provide a top speed of 39 knots. Manouvrenous and easy to handle, the yacht is equipped with the IPS system with joystick control.

She will be ready for delivery in September in the US, and then she will make her first appearance at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show .

Delta Powerboats

Based in Djurhamn, Sweden, luxury yacht builder Delta Powerboats manufactures high-style fibreglass and carbon-fibre boats ranging from 7.5 to 25.88 metres in length. The company bills itself “Scandinavia’s fastest-growing motor boat brand”.

History of Delta Powerboats

Founded in 2003, luxury yacht builder Delta Powerboats is managed by a trio of Swedes: Principal Owner Lennart Alpstål, Senior Designer Lars Modin and Sales and Marketing Manager Karl Wessel. The shipyard’s mission statement is, “to be a leader in boat design, innovation and sustainability”. Designed for operation in the islands as well as in freshwater lakes, Delta Powerboats are seaworthy and offer excellent fuel economy. Over the years, luxury yacht builder Delta Powerboats has developed ten boat models, including smaller models built in composite and the high-tech, carbon-fibre Delta 54 and Delta Yacht at the upper end of the range. Eight of these models are still in production today. Luxury yacht builder Delta Powerboats now has sales representation in 14 countries around the world. Of special note is America's distributor Delta Carbon Yachts, let by professional race car driver Chapman Ducote, which focuses on the larger Delta models.

Notable Delta Powerboats Builds

Luxury motor yacht Delta Yacht, also known as the Delta 88 IPS, is the flagship of the Delta Powerboats fleet. Launched in 2013, she features a carbon-fibre hull and comfortable accommodations for eight guests. Powered with triple Volvo Penta IPS 1200 diesels, the Delta Yacht has a top speed of 37 knots.

New Fast, Efficient, Delta Carbon 54 Cruiser from Sweden

The super-modern Delta Carbon 54 is a fast, efficient cruiser from Sweden that’s made with infused carbon fiber for strength and light weight. The three-stateroom, two-head yacht with its distinctive angular profile tops out at 37 knots with twin 600-hp Volvo IPS800 pod drives; dial back to 7.5 knots, and the range is about 2,200 nm.

Delta Carbon Yachts are part of Delta Powerboats, started in Stockholm in 2002. They have built more than 600 boats from 25 to 88 feet. In 2010, the company started Delta Carbon Yachts; at the time, it was the only company to make production yachts using carbon fiber in both the hull and superstructure. Delta Carbon now makes 54-, 60- and 88-foot models.

The 54 is made for long-range cruising, with a deep-V hull and its vacuum-infused carbon fiber/divinycell/vinylester construction. The interior lines are clean and straight, and there are windows all around, plus a retractable sunroof, to let in lots of natural light. A door next to the helm on the starboard side gives easy access to the deck for help with lines and docking.

A Volvo IPS joystick at the helm makes easy work of docking or low-speed maneuvering. And a standard Seakeeper gyro stabilizer provides a comfortable ride even in choppy conditions.

The Delta Carbon 54 has three staterooms and two heads on the lower accommodation deck. The master is forward, with a king-sized bed, two ottomans, his-and-hers wardrobes and an en suite head. The guest cabin on the starboard side has two twin beds; the cabin on the port side has a queen bed. They share the second head.

The salon is spacious, and the galley is fully equipped for cruising. The Scandinavian interior is impeccably finished; the teak has eight coats of varnish, and the yacht has a solid teak sole.

For power, the twin IPS800s are standard, although the boat comes with three 435-hp IPS600s as options. Top speed with the three is 39 knots.

Delta Powerboats — small fast-growing Swedish company, one of the youngest on the market. It was founded in 2003, Lennart Alpstein , Lars Modena and Kalle Wessel . For 10 years, Delta Powerboats has built at its plant on the island Saaremaa to Estonia 250 yachts from nine different models with length from 25 to 40 feet. unlike other manufacturers, Delta Powerboats has not suspended the development of new models during the crisis and, it seems, is not lost. For example, the yacht >Delta 34 Sidewalk was presented in the midst of crisis — in the fall of 2008, but became one of the successes of the Delta Powerboat. By the summer of 2009, it sold 19 of these boats — a respectable figure for a small yard.

Delta Powerboats is a company that was one of the first to offer yacht built almost entirely of carbon fiber: durable and lightweight material used for the production of luxury cars and airplanes. Thanks to this yacht Delta is 30% lighter than yachts of the same class competitors, and fuel consumption, they have less. He is averaging 1 liter per nautical mile at a speed of 30 knots.
