Revealed: The true cost of running a $3 million superyacht

Everyone loves the idea of owning a superyacht but what does it actually cost to run one? The owners of a Sunseeker 105 charter yacht reveal all...
Have you ever heard the saying, “If you need to ask the cost, you can’t afford it”? Trite as it may sound, there is a grain of truth in it, especially when it comes to buying and running a superyacht.
But there are ways of offsetting the costs, which is exactly why the owners of Kefi , a 2004 Sunseeker 105 based in Florida, ended up buying a pre-owned superyacht rather than their original idea of buying a brand new 60ft sportscruiser .
By chartering out Kefi during the weeks they weren’t using it themselves, they hoped to offset the costs of running such a big vessel while enjoying the benefits of a much more palatial crewed yacht when they were able to use it.
We covered their original buying journey in the October 2022 issue of Custom Yachting. Now they have owned Kefi for over a year, they have agreed to share what it actually cost them to run and how much revenue it earns in charter fees to see whether the sums add up.

The rather scary-looking answer to the first question is just over $1.1 million per annum, but that includes all the costs of running a charter boat – a privately run boat would cost a fair bit less.
The answer to the second question is rather more complicated because their goal was to end up with a profitable charter business with personal use costs the same as if they were running a brand new 60ft sportscruiser privately.
To go through the numbers and show me all the work they have done to make it a successful charter business, Scott, one of the co-owners, invited me to experience a short cruise aboard Kefi from the Bahamas to the Exumas and back.

Crunching the numbers
A 40-minute flight from Fort Lauderdale to Nassau provided an excellent opportunity to discuss the past year with Scott. Having owned several boats over the past three decades, including a 44ft flybridge that he still keeps for his own private use on Lake Erie, Scott is no stranger to the costs of running a boat but even he was surprised at the step up.
“It has been a learning curve,” admits Scott. “This is a whole different level financially. The costs are exponential compared to an owner-run smaller boat but we did go into it with our eyes wide open. It is a business with lifestyle implications, not a lifestyle with business implications. We didn’t want to be the alcoholic who buys a bar and drinks all the profits with his friends”.
Even so, ensuring the business model works is no easy task and a key part of that is finding the right people to run it. They tried four different captains and made several changes of crew before settling on the perfect team.
A wide array of tenders and toys keeps guests happy. Photo: Elliott Maurice and Kefi Charters
One prime example is Kefi ’s liveaboard engineer, who saved nearly $200,000 in engine rebuild work alone. He’s not the only one, when we arrive at the yacht, Captain Richard Perez, his three crew and the chef, all dressed immaculately in the yacht’s formal uniform immediately make us feel at home.
Like any business, the best investment is in the quality of its people.
Scott and his co-owner only have time to use the yacht four weeks each per year, which leaves a maximum 44 weeks free for charter. However, eight weeks of those are given over to annual maintenance and refit work, and at least as many are lost to transit and turnaround times between charters.
In their first full year Kefi was chartered for 18 weeks, and a realistic goal for the future would be between 20-25 weeks. To reach that level, Scott knew Kefi needed to stand out in a crowded market so his first priority was to bring her up to the standard of a brand new boat.
Article continues below…
When they purchased her in 2022 she was already 18 years old so a number of the systems desperately needed updating, along with many of the fixtures and fittings.
This was all factored into their original purchase and refit budget of around $3 million. A year down the line, she looks fantastic. With her clipper bow, sharp raked glasshouse and swooping lines, Kefi is classic Sunseeker through and through. In fact, at the time of our visit she was still only halfway through a two-year $600,000 refit plan.
Stepping onboard, Scott points out the freshly restored teak on the bathing platform. Progressing through the saloon doors reveals an entirely new composite wood sole in a light maple colour. The original solid walnut floor had bowed over time and looked rather dark and dated. Some of the woodwork at the rear of the saloon and wheelhouse had also faded and clouded due to sun damage and has now been replaced or re-veneered. Now it all looks, feels and smells like new.
Moving up to the wheelhouse, a very businesslike and modern glass bridge helm now takes pride of place. “We updated the entire navigation suite,” explains Captain Dan. “Only the NAVTEX weather warning system is legacy”.
An appealing cruising itinerary is almost as vital as a well presented boat. Photo: Elliott Maurice and Kefi Charters
It’s the same story up on the flybridge. The navigation gear is all brand new and the original flybridge teak decking has been replaced with artificial teak to better withstand the humidity and sunlight of the tropics. All the lighting has also been replaced with LEDs to reduce the load and bulb replacement costs – there are more than 150 downlights alone.
Moving down to the accommodation deck, Scott explains that the reason they chose the Sunseeker 105 was because it’s a four-stateroom boat with two full-beam guest suites, both of which are almost comparable in size with the owner’s suite on the main deck. “The only notable difference is the jacuzzi bath in the owner’s suite and a slightly better, more elevated view.”
All four cabins have sizable ensuite heads and the port and starboard have two generous single berths with an infill to create a king-size berth. The 105 also has an unusually large crew cabin. “A well accommodated, happy crew is as important as the guests’ comfort on a charter yacht,” explains Scott.

Location, location, location
Kefi ’s schedule is certainly a busy one. She spends six months chartering in the Bahamas each winter, two months in the yard being fettled, and then four months in Rhode Island over summer.
“This is done for several reasons,” explains Scott. “Firstly, it avoids the hurricane season, reducing the insurance premium from $70,000 to just over $30,000 per year. Also, high season in Rhode Island is June to September and high season in the Bahamas is November to April, so we optimise our charter rate by moving between the two”.
The next part of the equation is maximising the guest experience. “I think of the yacht as a substantial villa, complete with a speed boat, watersports toys and staff so it’s vital to make sure all those elements are first rate.”
The famous swimming pigs of the Exumas make a popular excursion for charter guests. Photo: Elliott Maurice and Kefi Charters
The yacht’s purchase inventory included a 27ft Sea Hunt tender and two jet skis to which Scott has recently added a pair of new Sea Bobs and charging racks.
The weekly charter rate for all this comes to $65,000 including an agreed fuel allowance but not food, drink, docking fees, local taxes or crew tips. “Most of these costs are met by the charter guests,” explains Captain Richard. “A party wanting to drink vintage Dom Perignon and eat caviar and lobster will require a very different budget to those eating burgers and drinking Bud.”
It’s the same story with the cruising itinerary. “We can usually create an itinerary that perfectly suits the client’s wishes without exceeding the fuel allowance,” assures the Captain.
Counting the cost of owning a superyacht
During 2022 Kefi was chartered for a total of 18 weeks, bringing in a revenue of $1,170,000. Offsetting this against the annual running costs of $1,149,100 actually resulted in a small profit of $20,900.
If they can increase the number of weeks chartered from 18 to 20 weeks, the sums will look even better. Clearly, this does not account for the capital outlay to buy Kefi or the annual refit costs ($177,000 in 2022 and $174,000 in 2023), but since an annual depreciation allowance as well as the maintenance and upgrade costs can be set against the revenue, this can also prove quite a tax-efficient way of running a boat.
However, Scott is very clear that buying a yacht with charter revenue attached is by no means a foolproof business model. The risks involved are simply too substantial. If the charters drop off or something major goes wrong with the boat, the financial picture would look very different.
So far, though, buying Kefi has worked out well for them, with personal costs restricted only to the time they spend on board. So well in fact that they are now considering upgrading to a bigger yacht.
“We are looking at a 2012 Sunseeker 111. Being a five-cabin yacht, this can demand over $75,000 per week in charter fees,” Scott tells me. So has it all been worth it? “Absolutely. It is the stuff of dreams, creating memories, it’s incredible”.

Said Kahn's 400-foot long superyacht Kismet charters for over $3 million per week
I haven’t met Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shahid Khan yet. But, after touring his previous 313-foot-long superyacht that’s played host to numerous A-list celebrities at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show a few years back, and recently learning that his newly launched superyacht is 400-feet-long, it’s pretty obvious he likes to go big.
The interior for the 400-foot-long Kismet that charters for $3 million per week
And as you can see in these images, Khan’s new KISMET ( Cecil Wright sold his previous 313-foot-long KISMET last September and is the central charter agent for this one) that was built by Lürssen in Germany, has an exterior design by Nuvolari Lenard , and an interior design led by the Khan’s family working alongside Reymond Langton Design takes going big to a whole other level.
Actually, what makes KISMET even more opulent is the simple fact that eventhough it’s much, much longer than an American football field, it’s designed to pamper just 12 uber VIP ’s over the yacht’s six massive decks.

The owners suite aboard the 400-foot-long Kismet that charters for $3 million per week is opulent
In fact, the master suite spans two decks and features a large skylight and fireplace, and his and hers bathrooms and dressing rooms. The private hot tub and sunbathing area forward and the private staircase leading up to a spectacular office simply must be seen to be believed.

The guest cabins also offer an oasis of comfort and serenity with the flexibility to accommodate varying preferences. Meanwhile, the yacht’s wellness and beauty areas include a Balinese-inspired spa with hammam, sauna, and cryotherapy chamber to a dedicated gym and yoga studio with a juice bar, both with opening sea terraces. In addition, there is a further treatment room with a massage table, waterfall shower and chromotherapy bathtub. For red carpet ready evenings, the yacht has two hair and beauty rooms, one in the spa area and another in the owner’s suite.
The outdoor cinema aboard the 400-foot-long Kismet that charters for $3 million per week
Entertainment areas include a large outdoor cinema on the bridge deck and a Nemo cinema on the lower deck with a 150-inch drop-down TV and underwater viewing lounge. Of course there’s also a DJ station overhanging the bridge deck aft, a Boganyi grand piano on the upper deck and four bars, including a champagne bar and wine cellar room.
As you’d expect, the yacht also boasts a full suite of water sports toys including: Jet Skis, SeaBobs, e-foils, Flitescooters, an Aquaglide floating deck and inflatable slide, dive gear and oh, by-the-way, there’s a basketball and pickleball court forward of the master cabin on the foredeck.
Sounds amazing, right? It is. And all of that over-the-top luxury can be yours for approximately $3,000,000 per week via Cecil Wright . And I bet KISMET ’s summer season is close to be fully booked already!

KHALILAH Yacht – The Incredible $30,000,000 Superyacht
Measuring a length of 48 meters KHALILAH yacht was built by the US shipyard Palmer Johnson in 2015 and is currently available for charter.
She has space for eleven guests in five cabins and is easily recognizable due to her golden finish.
KHALILAH yacht interior
All design stages, including the interior of the KHALILAH yacht, were completed by Palmer Johnson Yachts.
There are five cabins on board that can accommodate up to eleven guests. The KHALILAH yacht has twin master suites, one VIP cabin, and one double cabin, as well as a twin and an additional Pullman berth.
Nine crew members find space in cabins below deck. The KHALILAH yacht is often described as a family-friendly yacht with a lot of features that are adjusted to children including her unusual interior design.
In addition to her wide selection of water toys, families will appreciate the cabin layout and the onboard jacuzzi.
The beach club is perfect for a quick swim before a delicious dinner prepared by the five-star chef on board KHALILAH.
The yacht has impressive underwater lighting, wifi, and an upscale entertainment system. The interior of the KHALILAH yacht was designed to be tasteful and contemporary.
The style is somewhat eccentric in places, with colorful patterns and unusual features like a squid-shaped lamp in the main salon.
This is yet another aspect in which KHALILAH is an excellent yacht for families and not a conventional charter vessel.
Palmer Johnson gave her a unique interior to set KHALILAH apart from other superyachts and to match her already prominent exterior.
The furnishings of the yacht also have a distinct south-east Asian influence, with several buddha statues spread throughout the vessel.
Several cabins have intricate wood carvings decorating the walls, and there are traditional decorations and murals to be found onboard the luxury yacht.
Most notably, one of the bathrooms is entirely decorated with a colorful mosaic depicting cartoon-like sea animals, which is sure to be popular among children spending time aboard the KHALILAH yacht.
Other bathrooms are more minimalistic with white marble finishes and discreet mosaics of trees and other natural scenes.
Specifications
The KHALILA yacht is 48 meters (157.6 ft) long with an 11-meter (36.1 ft) beam and a 2.1-meter (6.11 ft) draft.
She is considered the world’s first all-carbon superyacht and is especially environmentally friendly with reduced emissions and exceptional fuel efficiency.
Both her hull and superstructure are built out of carbon, making her a lightweight vessel at only 485 tons.
She is powered by twin MTU engines which allow her to reach impressive speeds of up to 30 knots.
She comfortably cruises at 28 knots, making her one of the faster yachts in her size category.
Due to her highly efficient engines, she still has a range of 1,500 nautical miles and is the perfect yacht for visiting destinations in shallow waters due to her low draft.
The KHALILAH yacht is one of the most striking superyachts in the world and is guaranteed to draw attention wherever she goes with her pearlescent gold finish.
She is accompanied by a matching 6.8-meter (22 ft) gold tender, and her aerodynamic design gives her a sleek and elegant appearance.
On the aft, the yacht has a spacious swimming platform and storage area for water toys with an adjacent seating area with a beach club.
With her many floor-to-ceiling windows and large decks, KHALILAH perfectly merges indoor and outdoor living and provides guests with many choices for relaxing and enjoying the views.
One of her more unusual features is the custom extendable staircase that can be used to board guests and extend onto the water if requested as an unconventional seating area.
The exterior of the KHALILAH yacht was designed by Palmer Johnson Yachts , which is also the shipyard where the vessel was constructed. As a charter yacht, Khalilah has a fantastic selection of water toys on board to entertain her guests. There are jet skis, water skis, kayaks, paddleboards, and inflatables, all stored aft of the vessel.
The adjacent deck is exceptionally large and measures over 110 square feet giving guests plenty of space for sunbathing or exercising.
The KHALILAH yacht has an estimated price of US $30 million. She generates annual running costs of approximately US $1 to $3 million.
Khalilah is available for charter at a weekly price of US $225,000 per week during both the winter and summer seasons. She is based in the Mediterranean and is primarily available for charter there. Khalilah is also available for sale at a listing price of US $28,5 million, although it is unclear whether a buyer has already been found.

2004 88’ Pershing “Amora”
Asking $1,995,000.
Over the years, we have researched, boarded, and sold virtually every type of boat – but nothing compares to “Amora”. Prior to 2016, she had been a well-maintained, contentedly “standard” super high-end 88 Pershing . Then everything changed. In the course of the next three years, ending in 2019, virtually every surface, piece of equipment, and square foot of upholstery was tastefully & thoughtfully updated with the very best that U.S. dollars – and a combined century of refitting experience – could conjure. At least $3 million. That’s the amount that, by conservative estimates, the current owner has spent on this 2004/2019 88′ Pershing. She is an admittedly incomplete snapshot of a one-of-a-kind, world-class vessel. “Amora” sits right now in Lighthouse Point, a state-of-the-art vessel in stunningly pristine condition.
2015 84’ Horizon “Ocean Life”
Asking $2,995,000.
Swathed in elegance and offering a slew of features throughout her 91’6′ LOA, “Ocean Life” was built to cruise in luxury. This E84 motor yacht is customized specifically for the U.S. market based upon owner feedback. She provides both comfort and functionality on each level and can be easily operated with a smaller crew or by knowledgeable owner-operators. The Horizon E84 open bridge motor yacht focuses on exterior entertaining and fun. Spacious side-deck walk-arounds lead to the forward bow area with sunpads and bench seating for enjoying the sunshine while at anchor. The hydraulic swim platform effortlessly launches watercraft and serves swimming, diving, and fishing activities with ease and convenience.
2007 84’ Lazzara “Chip”
Asking $1,790,000.
Built in 2007, “Chip” exemplifies the renown yacht building capabilities of American yacht builder Lazzara Yachts. The innovative design of the 84 Lazzara features a total of five staterooms with crew quarters and a jetski pod aft, making her perfect for larger families. Ample space in her salon, country kitchen, and flybridge make comfortable gathering spaces for you and your guests. The pride of ownership shows throughout this yacht, with a well documented history of service as well as upgrades.
2013 Schaefer 80 “Veloce II”
Asking $1,999,000.
Just for under $2m, the next owner will feel like they bought a practically brand new yacht when they board this beautifully refitted 2013 Schaefer Pininfarina 800. Extensive exterior teak flooring throughout is in pristine condition. A recent large scale refit, low engine hours, and full scale engine service makes this boat a truly extraordinary value. Veloce II reaches 35 knots and cruising comfortably at 25 knots, swiftly transports your loved ones to the Bahamas with elegance.
This 80 ft 2013 Schaefer 800 is equipped with the “Pininfarina” design package which is part of an exclusive limited edition styled by the renowned Italian Ferrari design firm. This includes upgraded soft and hard goods, hardwood flooring, carpets, headliners and wall coverings. Not to mention the pair of RECARO Captain racing helm seats. This package is a $300,000.00 upgrade.
2006 Offshore Yacht 80 “Voyager”
Asking $1,899,000.

With a draft of 5’10”, this classic design isn’t merely suited for exploring the islands of the Bahamas and Caribbean. It excels in all sea conditions, making it peerless in the industry for long open ocean passages. “Voyager” accommodates up to seven guests. With three luxurious ensuite staterooms and two crew in the one ensuite aft cabin with its own galley and workshop. She features a Portuguese bridge for easy handling and docking with excellent visibility from an enclosed flybridge. Is Zara founder Amancio Ortega’s new $300 million hybrid yacht one of the greenest superyachts? The 301 feet long vessel packs more batteries than 10 Tesla Model S cars and can navigate the high seas in utmost silence.
Amancio Ortega owned the $87 million Feadship Drizzle Yacht-
A seasoned yacht owner and a Feadship fan, the businessman owned a tri-deck luxury vessel that one could never guess belonged to the richest man in Spain. Unpretentious, straightforward, and much smaller, the pleasure craft Drizzle was delivered in 2012. It provided the Inditex tycoon with the needful- informal indoor lounges, comfortable outdoor areas, full-width swim platform with a shower, and retractable self-washing swim ladder. Still, it didn’t emulate the stature of the $91.7 billion Spaniard. With six guest suites, a well-appointed main suite she did provide the billionaire with comforts on the high seas, but it is Project 1012, a vessel that should be worth $300 million that will be a more fitting choice.

The seasoned superyacht owner is a businessman first, boasting a net worth of a whopping $91.7 billion . A 59.3% stake in Inditex, the world’s largest clothing retailer, contributes to his bottomless pit of wealth. The company is behind big fashion names like Zara, Pull&Bear, Bershka, Massimo Dutti, Stradivarius, Oysho, Uterqüe, and Zara Home. Ortega has invested heavily in office and retail properties in major cities in Spain, the US, and elsewhere in Europe. It is believed that he will be succeeded by his daughter Marta Ortega Perez, who started her Inditex career as a salesperson.

This $3.5 Million Rolex Just Set an Auction Record

This must be the most expensive cheese knife ever sold. Over the weekend at the Monaco Legend Group auctions, a sharp yellow blade meant for dicing up Gruyères and Comtés, with the phrase “It’s a Good Watch” printed on it, hammered for $3.5 million. Oh, and it also happened to come with a one-of-12 Rolex chronograph that was never made available to the public. The sale price set a record for both cheese cutters and this particular sought-after Rolex model.
The Rolex 4113 is no stranger to breaking auction records. In 2011, it became the first Rolex ever to cross the million-dollar mark. So what makes it so special? For starters, it’s incredibly rare. Rolex only made 12 of these watches in the 1940s, and they were never sold publicly. These pieces were originally designed for aviation but, according to Monaco Legend Group, race car drivers adopted them as well. Instead of selling them, Rolex gave them to members of various racing teams, making them even more exclusive and attractive eight decades later. Another feather in this model’s cap is that it’s the only split-seconds chronograph Rolex ever made. (A split-seconds chrono, or rattrapante, is a feature that allows the wearer to time intervals, like a lap function on a stopwatch.)
About that cheese knife: This particular 4113 was last owned by the beloved collector Auro Montanari, who writes books under the pen name John Goldberger. This exact watch was seen on the cover of his book 100 Superlative Rolex Watches . In a 2013 Hodinkee video , Goldberger used a knife to pop open the watch’s caseback to the delight and alarm of viewers. “Did he just open up the caseback of his million-dollar-plus Rolex 4113 with his cheese knife?” someone commented. That’s now a $3 million -plus Rolex, dude.
Some other notable sales
Patek Philippe Split-Seconds Chronograph, once worn by Amelia Earhart! ($1,914,000)
You read that right! Not lost to the Bermuda Triangle is this extremely rare Patek Philippe. Similar to the Rolex above, Patek Philippe made very few of these split-seconds chronographs with just a single pusher. But, obviously, the headline here is that Earheart stewarded the watch for some time. The story goes that the watch’s original owner, Harry Gordon Selfridge (yes, of the department store) was friends with Earheart and traded her this piece in exchange for the Longines she wore during her solo flights across the Atlantic.
Rolex Daytona “Paul Newman Lemon” (871,000 euros; roughly $928,076)
What’s cooler than a Rolex Daytona Paul Newman? How about one with a yellow dial and yellow-gold case known as the Lemon? (I prefer the Italians’ nickname for it: limoncino .) Bonus provenance for my fashionheads out there: The watch comes from Renato Della Valle, who was CEO of Giorgio Armani from 1975 to 1978, according to Monaco Legend Group.
Cartier Helm ($380,805)
This watch is known as the Gouvernail, French for “rudder.” I’m in on the nautical theme, but my eyes see the helm of a pirate ship instead. No matter what the results of this Rorschach test, this is an incredibly cool Cartier and more proof that no one makes more distinctive and enchanting shapes than the Parisian jeweler.
Piaget Polo ($49,863)
This is the peak of what a Piaget Polo can be. Those gadroons are great for adding dimension, but they’re even better when they’re filled up with diamonds like troughs for the ultraglam!
Patek Philippe Calatrava “Train” ($117,750)
Choo choo! All aboard the PP rare handicraft express.
Rolex GMT Master ($27,700)
Hard-to-find cooler patination than the tiny blazes erupting from beneath the hour markers on this GMT.
Gérald Genta with mother-of-pearl dial ($13,850)
I just need you all to see this “Asymétrique” Genta with a mother-of-pearl dial. Because tilting a watch on its axis wasn’t kooky enough.
Cartier Grand Carrè Coins Rondi ($66,463)
Another super rare (but less funky) Cartier piece went up for sale in Monaco this weekend. While it looks slightly like a Tank that got steamrolled, the square Grand Carrè is a very uncommon sight. The watch was a gift to F.J. Heraty, an officer and instructor at West Point, from his then new father-in-law. According to the inscription, Heraty received the watch for Christmas in 1927 from an S.A. Megeath. A newspaper clipping from that same year shows that Heraty married Virginia Megeath, the eldest daughter of Mr. Samuel A. Megeath.

This $39 million superyacht comes with a $3 million Bugatti and a spot on deck to park it — take a closer look at 'Xenos'
- Xenos is a new superyacht concept that comes with a $3 million Bugatti Chiron.
- There's also an on-deck garage with a folding ramp that lets you drive right onto and off of the superyacht.
- The top-of-the-line Xenos will cost around $39 million, have 15,000 horsepower, and be able to hit a claimed top speed of more than 100 mph, according to Lazzarini Design Studio, which designed the yacht.
- Visit Business Insider's homepage for more stories .
Companies often try to lure customers in with attractive buy-one-get-one deals, but one design studio is taking that a step further by offering clients a Bugatti with the purchase of their next yacht.
Lazzarini Design Studio has penned a new superyacht concept called Xenos, and it comes with a complimentary Bugatti Chiron. Odds are that someone with the cash for a $39 million superyacht already has a supercar or two in the garage, but what's one more for the collection?
Not to mention, Xenos has a few more tricks up its sleeve, such as roof-mounted solar panels, auto-tinting windows, and a claimed top speed of more than 100 mph.
Check out some renderings of Xenos, which was brought to our attention by Robb Report , below.
Xenos is a superyacht concept that offers something most other yachts don't.
It comes with a Bugatti Chiron — one of the quickest, most powerful, and all-around wildest vehicles on the market today — included.
Not only that — the yacht has a compartment to store your new Chiron while out on the high seas.
Thanks to an extending ramp, you can hop in your Chiron, rip a burnout right onto the dock, and speed away to your waterfront villa — all with minimal contact with the common folk hanging about the marina.
You see, it's all about COVID safety.
When the Bugatti's in the shop, Xenos owners can keep other toys like jet skis and boats in the garage.
But the $39 million superyacht has plenty more going for it than just a free supercar.
Built from carbon fiber and aluminum, Xenos's 130-foot hull is designed for high speeds.
Lazzarini Design Studio, the firm behind the concept, says Xenos will be able to hit speeds of 90 knots — roughly 104 mph — in its most powerful 15,000-horsepower configuration.
That would make it the fastest 130-foot yacht in existence, Lazzarini says.
Plus, it'll be available in standard and hydrofoil versions.
The yacht comes with windows that automatically tint depending on how bright it is outside.
Not to mention, there will be solar panels integrated into the roof ...
... and Xenos will be available in a hybrid-electric version.
As for the interior, buyers can choose from various layouts.
Renderings show a living room and kitchen area ...
... a lounge with a TV ...
... and another sitting area.
If you have a need for speed both on land and on water, you'll be in luck whenever Xenos goes from concept to reality.

Zaslav Receives $50 Million for Leading Struggling Warner Bros. Discovery
The chief executive’s 2023 pay package rose 26 percent from the year before, while the company’s losses totaled $3 billion.
By Brooks Barnes
Reporting from Los Angeles
David Zaslav , the chief executive of Warner Bros. Discovery, received $49.7 million in compensation last year, a 26 percent increase from the previous year, according to a proxy statement filed on Friday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
It is common for chief executives in media to receive lavish pay packages. Mr. Zaslav’s compensation for 2023 is notable, however, because Warner Bros. Discovery is not exactly a portrait of health . Losses totaled $3 billion in 2023, which was actually an improvement from $7 billion in losses the year before. Revenue fell 4 percent, largely because of the company’s atrophying cable television business, which includes CNN.
In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery shareholders sent a clear message about Mr. Zaslav’s pay at the company’s most recent annual meeting: It’s too high.
In a nonbinding “say on pay” vote, only 50.8 percent of shareholders approved of the $39.3 million he was paid in 2022. Approval by less than 70 percent is considered “low support” by ISS, a leading corporate governance firm.
For 2023, the Warner Bros. Discovery board adjusted compensation formulas for its top executives. The adjustment involved certain bonuses — tying them more to the generation of free cash flow , which is helpful in paying down debt, and less to the company’s stock price. (Shares have lately traded at about $8, down from $24 two years ago.)
In terms of free cash flow, Warner Bros. Discovery had a spectacular 2023. Free cash flow totaled $6.2 billion, an 86 percent increase from the year before, vastly more than Wall Street had expected. That was partly a result of improved financials at the company’s streaming division, which became profitable. The union strikes that shut down Hollywood for six months also contributed, saving on production costs.
The money allowed Warner Bros. Discovery to trim its total debt by 11 percent, to $44.2 billion, in 2023.
Mr. Zaslav’s compensation for 2023 included a $3 million base salary and long-term stock awards of $23 million, according to the proxy. He also received $22 million in cash, a payment guaranteed by a 2021 employment contract and related to his role in merging Discovery and WarnerMedia . (In 2021, Mr. Zaslav, then running Discovery, received compensation valued at $246.6 million.) An additional $1.6 million was related to security and personal use of the corporate jet.
“We were impacted by the changing landscape of advertising spending and continued weakness in the advertising market overall; declines in linear television viewing; increased competition from other traditional media companies and the enhanced presence of large technology companies in the media space; lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on movie-theater attendance,” Warner Bros. Discovery said in the proxy.
Despite those challenges, Mr. Zaslav “provided exceptional leadership and delivered on several financial, operational and strategic priorities,” the company said. (It also gave hefty raises to its chief financial officer, president of streaming, chief revenue and strategy officer, and international president.)
To compare, Robert A. Iger , Disney’s chief executive, received a pay package worth $31.6 million in 2023, a 31 percent decline from 2021. (In the interim, he retired and unretired .) Ted Sarandos , Netflix’s co-chief executive, received $49.8 million, on a par with a year earlier. Bob Bakish , chief executive of the troubled Paramount Global, was paid $31.3 million in 2023, down 2 percent.
Pay packages like these — when entertainment companies have been walloped by the shift to streaming from traditional television — played a major role in the union strikes . “They plead poverty, that they’re losing money left and right when giving hundreds of millions of dollars to their C.E.O.s,” Fran Drescher, the president of the actors’ union, said at July rally. “It is disgusting.”
Most of the big media companies slashed costs in 2023, laying off thousands of people and announcing plans to make fewer movies and television shows. But Mr. Zaslav and his lieutenants have been particularly aggressive, even shelving nearly finished content like “Batgirl” and “ Coyote vs. Acme .”
“We said no sacred cows,” Mr. Zaslav said at The New York Times’s DealBook Summit in November.

Caitlin Clark is closing on a record $28 million endorsement contract, shoe deal with Nike
Caitlin Clark appears to be on the cusp of setting another record.
The most prolific scorer in NCAA Division 1 history and the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA draft will continue her association with Nike by signing a $28 million contract that spans eight years and includes a signature shoe. The new deal would be the richest sponsorship contract for a women’s basketball player.
The Wall Street Journal and The Athletic reported the pending deal, citing unnamed people familiar with the negotiations between the sportswear giant and Clark’s agents.
Excel Sports Management, which represents Clark, declined to comment. Nike did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Associated Press.
Clark’s initial name, image, and likeness deal, signed in 2022, expired at the end of the 2023-24 season.
Under Armour and Adidas also participated in contract discussions with Clark’s team in February, according to the WSJ and The Athletic. Puma also showed some interest, but walked away when told the bidding would start at $3 million per year, according to the WSJ.
Clark received offers of $16 million over four years from Under Armour and $6 million over four years from Adidas, with both including a signature shoe, according to the WSJ.
Clark earned about $3 million in NIL money at Iowa, with deals she has had with State Farm, Gatorade, and others, according to On3.com . Her agents were working on the new Nike contract even before she announced she would turn pro instead of return to Iowa for a fifth season.
After averaging 31.6 points and leading the Hawkeyes to a second straight national championship game, Clark was drafted No. 1 by the Indiana Fever on April 15. She’ll earn a $76,000 salary as a rookie.
She’s been the main driver for the dramatic uptick in women’s basketball interest with her mix of deep 3-point shots, flashy thread-the-needle passes, and overall court presence. A women’s basketball-record 18.9 million viewers watched Iowa’s loss to South Carolina in the NCAA title game, and a WNBA-record 2.45 million watched the draft.
Of the Fever’s 40 games this season, 36 will be nationally televised, and ticket sales have skyrocketed around the league.
Her marketability is enhanced by her polished performances in media settings, and her surprise appearance on “Saturday Night Live” two weeks ago was widely acclaimed and exposed her to an even wider audience.
The reported eight-year contract with Nike shows the sportswear giant’s commitment. At 22, Clark could play well over a decade in the WNBA and she could be on the American roster for the Olympics in Paris this year, in Los Angeles in 2028 and Brisbane, Australia, in 2032.
