Impressive 77m (251ft) motor yacht BOADICEA was built in 1999 by the esteemed Dutch shipyard Amels and refitted in 2024 by Amico. Her elegantly appointed exterior and interior design is masterminded by the revered superyacht designer Terence Disdale. Across 9 spacious and uber-chic cabins, she can accommodate 18 guests.

Guest Accommodation

With an interior artfully adorned with flashes of Italian leather and draped in raw silk, she has both Art Deco and classic elements to her styling. Her master suite is the embodiment of this look, which is located on the owner's deck and comes with its own private terrace, salon and office. Guests can lap up the spellbinding 180-degree panoramic views in total seclusion here.

On this deck you will also find a luxuriously-appointed VIP cabin, while on the main deck there is a large VIP double-length suite and below six double cabins plus a twin. 

Her living spaces are characterized by their elegant yet staggering size, providing ample room for guests to enjoy. Inside, you have not one but two saloons, an observation lounge and two formal dining areas. 

As for her exterior spaces, guests have an abundance of generously sized al-fresco dining options at their disposal on the sun deck, bridge and upper decks, with plenty of spots to spend afternoons bronzing. 

But that's not all: this luxury motor yacht also comes complete with a spa with hydromassage, a guest elevator, a state-of-the-art gym, beach with bar and a huge sundeck with pool. 

Onboard Comfort & Entertainment

You and your guests can enjoy a variety of experiences on Boadicea such as a dedicated library, where you can unwind in seclusion. Meanwhile the yacht boasts a movie theatre, perfect to relax after a long day on the water. For the ultimate relaxation experience, Boadicea plays host to a luxury spa or elsewhere, the swimming pool is perfect for exercising or admiring a romantic sunrise. Even the most discerning of charter guests will enjoy the included beach club and maintain your fitness routine and work out in the well-equipped gym. Performance & Range

Built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, she offers greater on-board space and is more stable when at anchor thanks to her full-displacement hull. Powered by twin Caterpillar engines, she comfortably cruises at 13 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 15 knots with a range of up to 4,200 nautical miles from her 290,000 litre fuel tanks at cruising speed. An advanced stabilisation system on board reduces the side-to-side roll of the yacht and promises guests exceptional comfort levels at anchor or when underway.

Onboard Boadicea has a range of toys and accessories to keep you and your guests entertained on the water throughout your stay. Guests can experience the thrill and adventure of riding one of the two Seadoo GTX 255 - GTX 260 WaveRunners. In addition there are towable toys offering fun and adventure. Additionally, there are F5 SEABOBs, that allow you to skim along the surface or steer under the crystal water and experience life swimming with the fish. If that isn't enough Boadicea also features kayaks, fishing equipment, inflatable water toys, paddleboards and snorkelling equipment. Boadicea features three tenders, but leading the pack is a 13m/42'8" Pirelli Tender to transport you in style.

The 251.4-foot (76.6m) BOADICEA has an enviable yachting pedigree. She was built in 1999 by Amels, with naval architecture and interior design from the renowned Terence Disdale. As such, she is truly impressive inside and out. Those who know their superyachts may recognize her under her former name ‘REBORN’. 

BOADICEA has a steel displacement hull, a 45.11-foot (14m) beam and a 13.11-foot (4.25m) draft. She sleeps 12 guests in 10 impressive staterooms and has exceptional areas and decks. She underwent a refit in 2019/2020 during which time her teak decks and galley were updated. Some exciting new additions included a new beach club and a physiotherapy center. The yacht has a cruising speed of 13 knots, at which she has a range of 5,300 nautical miles, and a top speed of 15 knots. 

BOADICEA has 10 highly impressive staterooms. Chief among them is the owner’s room on its own deck. It has an office, private lounging area, stateroom with his-and-hers bathrooms and a private deck area. It also incorporates a double cabin for children and there is an additional cabin on the upper main deck to accommodate a personal assistant. The remainder of the charter party sleeps in a VIP stateroom, five double staterooms and a twin. 

Luxury, style and indulgence extend throughout the interior. Particular highlights include a spa center with a hydro-massage hot tub, a steam bath, emotional shower and massage room. BOADICEA also has an expert masseuse and beautician on hand for guests.

The many attractions on deck make BOADICEA the ideal yacht for either families or groups of friends. Her sundeck is a popular social area complete with hot-tub swimming pool, couches, sun loungers and a bar. Her upper deck has a dining area and a large-screen television outside leading into an upper salon with large couches and great home-entertainment systems. The main deck has the principal salon and a breakfast/meeting room. The yacht’s crew of 22 ensure exceptional personal attention at all times.

Over the years, a great many changes have been made to Boadicea: from big changes such as the addition of the enormous swim platform (perfect for watersports, sunbathing or even a couples massage!) to the replacement of all the soft furnishings throughout the vessel. Most recently, the hull and superstructure has been wrapped to change her colour to the crisp white and black you see here. A cinema room with state of the art audio visual equipment has been added – a true movie experience! The upper salon has also been completely refurbished with Roche Bobois furnishings and a cinema style screen & projector.

BOADICEA is able to accommodate eighteen passengers in comfort and style: the main master cabin is ideally placed at the front of the upper deck with panoramic views across the bow – this area was originally an observation deck that was changed during a refit. The VIP cabin directly adjoins the master cabin and is beautifully light and airy.

The second Master Cabin is situated on the deck below and is every bit as palatial and opulent as the one above. Oranienbaum (Lomonosov)

Still commonly known by its post-war name of Lomonosov, the estate at Oranienbaum is the oldest of the Imperial Palaces around St. Petersburg, and also the only one not to be captured by Nazi forces during the Great Patriotic War. Founded by Prince Menshikov, Peter the Great's closest adviser, the Grand Palace is one of the most opulent examples of Petrine architecture to have survived to the present, although until very recently the palace itself has been greatly neglected. After Menshikov's death, Oranienbaum passed to the state, and was used as a hospice until, in 1743, it was presented by Empress Elizabeth to her nephew, the future Peter III. Peter made Oranienbaum his official summer residence and transformed one corner of the park, ordering the construction of a "Joke" Castle and a small citadel manned by his Holstein guards. This peculiar ensemble, called Petershtadt, was mostly demolished during Pavel's reign. Antonio Rinaldi, the Italian-born architect who also designed the Grand Palace at Gatchina and the Marble Palace in St. Petersburg, was commissioned by Peter in 1758 to build a modest stone palace next to the fortress, and this has survived.

After Peter was deposed, Rinaldi was commissioned by Catherine the Great to build the Chinese Palace, in the Upper Park, as her official country residence. However, Catherine spent little time at Oranienbaum, which she had grown to hate during her marriage to Peter, and by the end of the 18 th century the estate had been turned into a Naval Cadet College. The palace became an Imperial residence again in the reign of Alexander I, and retained that status until the Revolution, when it was immediately opened as a museum. Although never captured by the Germans, Oranienbaum was bombarded during the war and, while the Grand Menshikov Palace survived intact, its restoration was given much lower priority than the more famous estates at Peterhof and Tsarskoe Selo. Today, the small but elegant park has been almost completely restored, while the full restoration of the palaces has finally gained momentum over the last decade.

Who is Mike Lynch, UK’s ‘Bill Gates’ missing in superyacht sinking?

Mike Lynch, a UK tech entrepreneur, was celebrating his acquittal in a fraud case on the superyacht Bayesian when it suddenly sank off the coast of Italy on Monday (August 19), killing one person and six others reported missing.

The 56-metre British-flagged yacht “Bayesian” was anchored near the port of Porticello when it was struck by severe weather, according to the Italian coast guard. The yacht was owned by Lynch’s family and had 22 people on board when it sank just before sunrise.

The superyacht quickly sank just before dawn, eyewitnesses reported. Fifteen people, including Lynch’s wife, Angela Bacares, and a one-year-old girl, managed to escape. The deceased is believed to be the yacht’s chef, while Lynch remains missing.

But who exactly is Mike Lynch? Why is he called UK’s ‘Bill Gates’?

Early life of Mike Lynch

Though he is dubbed to be UK’s Bill Gates, Lynch’s life has been very different than that of the Microsoft founder.

Born on June 16 1965, Lynch is the son of a nurse and a fireman, and was raised near Chelmsford in Essex. Earlier, he has been quoted as saying that his parents instilled in him an appreciation of the value of education.

He studied physics, mathematics and biochemistry at Cambridge University, eventually specialising in adaptive pattern recognition. A report in The Guardian says that his doctoral thesis is reportedly one of the most widely read pieces of research in the university library.

In 1991, he helped create a company that specialised in using computer-based detection and recognition of fingerprints. It was five years after this that he created his tech firm, Autonomy. Its software was used by companies to analyse huge caches of data and partly owed its efficacy to Bayesian inference, a statistical theory devised by the 18th-century statistician, philosopher and Presbyterian minister Thomas Bayes.

The rise and rise of Mike Lynch

Autonomy soon became a success, which also saw it joining Financial Times Stock Exchange 100 of top UK-listed companies. In 2006, he was awarded an OBE for services rendered to enterprise.

Years later, he joined BBC ’s board as a non-executive director. Moreover, in 2011, he was appointed as a science advisor to then Prime Minister David Cameron. Lynch then sold Autonomy to Hewlett-Packard (HP) for $11 billion and from the money that he netted from the sale he established tech investment firm Invoke Capital.

Lynch’s firm invested in the creation of British cyber security company Darktrace in 2013, where he held a seat on the board until earlier this year.

Interestingly, Lynch had a fondness for the British super spy James Bond, which was reflected in his offices. He named conference rooms at his companies after Bond enemies such as Dr No and Goldfinger. Moreover, according to a report in The Guardian , he also had a piranha tank in the atrium of Autonomy’s office, in a nod to Bond’s You Only Live Twice .

Lynch’s legal battle with HP

Lynch’s sale of Autonomy to HP made headlines across the world. But it also brought for the tech entrepreneur a huge legal headache. A year after purchasing Autonomy, the US giant alleged it had discovered “serious accounting improprieties” at the UK company.

In 2018, US prosecutors brought charges against Lynch, accusing him of artificially inflating the company’s value. They alleged he had concealed the company’s loss-making business reselling hardware, and also accused him of intimidating or paying off people who raised concerns.

He spent the next few years in court defending himself, locked in some of the biggest legal battles in corporate history. In 2022, Lynch lost a civil fraud case brought by HP in the UK, during which it was said that the businessman exerted control over Autonomy’s former finance director, Sushovan Hussain and that it was inconceivable that Autonomy’s founder was unaware of the fraudulent practices alleged to have taken place at his company.

But through it all, Lynch maintained his innocence, saying that HP was trying to pin blame on him for having “buyers’ remorse”. In simply terms, he said that the US giant was regretting how much it had paid for but that was their choice and, he insisted, it was neither conspiracy nor fraud.

It was on June 6 that he was acquitted of all charges. Notably, he told the BBC in August that he felt he was only able to prove his innocence in the US due to his wealth. “The reason I’m sitting here, let’s be honest, is not only because I was innocent… but because I had enough money not to be swept away by a process that’s set up to sweep you away.”

Lynch and the Bayesian

Mike Lynch had taken friends and family on board the 56-metre yacht named Bayesian to celebrate his acquittal, reports The Telegraph when tragedy struck. The UK newspaper reports that Lynch had gathered guests from Clifford Chance, the legal firm, and Invoke Capital, his own company, after being cleared in June of fraud over the multi-billion-dollar sale of Autonomy.

Those on board the Bayesian recount that a violent storm had struck without warning.

While divers continue to search for those missing, investigators have also begun work on trying to find out why the Bayesian sank when other ships in the vicinity remained afloat. The yacht had the world’s tallest aluminium mast at almost 250 feet.

While Lynch is said to be missing, his wife has been rescued from the wreckage site. However, one of Lynch’s daughters, aged 18, is also understood to be among those missing after the yacht sank.

41m Majesty 135 motor yacht Lady Tahiti sold

The 41.1-metre Majesty 135 motor yacht Lady Tahiti has been sold with Jessica Ruez and Jean-Marie Recamier of Camper & Nicholsons representing the seller and Howard Prime of Simpson Marine representing the buyer.

Delivered in the Middle East by Gulf Craft in 2012, the GRP yacht was designed in-house and completed her 10-year Lloyd's class survey in 2022. The new owner is her second since new.

Accommodation is for an owner's party of 10, comprising a full-beam, main-deck owner's suite with his-and-hers bathrooms plus two lower-deck twins and two double guest cabins. The broker pointed out that her owner had her designed with a clear segregation between her crew of 10 and guests.

An elevator connects the three interior decks, all of which are finished with an oriental touch and include bamboo, sycamore and eucalyptus woods with some Swarovski crystal detailing and marble in the bathrooms.

The aft deck leads to a large swim platform, while the bridge deck offers open-air dining for the full party of 10. A dumbwaiter runs from the galley to allow for efficient service. The semi-shaded sun deck sports a sit-up bar, Jacuzzi and ample seating and sunpads.

The 356GT yacht has a range if 1,150 miles at its cruising speed of 12 knots, under twin MTU engines, which have low hours of use as the owner has only used her for short family trips. Lady Tahiti's top speed is in excess of 20 knots and she carries a 5-metre Williams tender.

Lady Tahiti was asking €7,250,000.
