Enjoyed Vavi's NYE party at the Catamaran, great place to have the party. Paid the extra $30 for the VIP ticket which gave you an hour and a half on triple decker boat ride around the bay. They had the same hors d'oeuvres and drinks on the boat that they had in the resort. The description of the VIP tickets did say there was to be casino style games on board which was why I purchased it, thought it would be fun. There was no games whatsoever. :( There were multiple rooms with DJ's playing dance music, would have liked to see more variety of music, or a live band would have been nice. The bar included two beers, Cores light and Saint Archer blonde, along with wine, champagne, and your typical well alcohols. There were plenty of places to get drinks and food, plenty of places to hang out indoor and outdoor, and a photo booth. All in all, it was fun, but unless you like to dance for 5 hours there wasn't much else to do besides hang out, which we did.

Great party with many dig rooms to choose from with all kids of styles of music! I absolutely recommend it BUT!!! Take your own pics because they're nowhere to be found! There were many photo booths but no way to obtain the photographs That's the only reason why I didn't give them a 5. Free drinks all night tho

Once again, another great year and my previous review says it all. This really is the best way to spend NYE in SD and I will stress that forking over a few extra bucks for the VIP boat ride is absolutely worth it. This year it was foggy on the bay and very pleasant to hang on the top deck as the music played below. Nice work, VAVI. You've knocked it out the park once again and sent us into 2014 in style. See you next year!

Whoa, whoa, WHOA! VAVI nailed this one! Some friends and I grabbed some tickets in advance for the "VIP package" and really didn't know what to expect. From the moment we approached the front of the Catamaran the organization was excellent and execution was flawless! The staff was directing guests to the appropriate lines, issuing wrist bands (VIP and GA), checking coats and snapping pictures upon arrival. Once we made it through the front door we were handed a Miller Lite and directed to the left. We walked down a long hallway and onto the back lawn which was a "staging" area for the boat ride which was scheduled to depart about a half hour later. There was a bar and servers with excess amounts of food. Literally every time I turned around a potsticker was offered to me... I have a hard time saying no to potstickers. Ahoy... jump on that boat and take her for a ride! Once again, drinks and food were everywhere on the boat! Tables were covered with party favors, glow sticks, hats and neon glasses. We worked our way up to the top level with a huge stained glass ceiling, a DJ, and balloon covering the whole room. Once again there was more boooooooze and lots of dirty dancing. We cruised the bay for two hours and were dropped off where we boarded. The party was in full effect and you could hear the music coming from inside the Catamaran. We grabbed a few more snacks and drinks and worked our way around the hotel. This may be a good time to mention that I never waited two or three minutes anywhere for a drink the entire night and the food kept coming out... that's insane! We posted up in the main room which was definitely the biggest and you could tell by the balloons on the ceiling that it was going to be the place to be for the countdown. We killed some time, ate some more, drank some more, listened to music and found our little corner to ring in 2013. It was nothing short of fantastic... I am going to give BIG PROPS to VAVI for pulling this together. They thought of everything and had eager staff members everywhere and ready to help out. A female guest in our group even commented that a moment that stuck out as memorable to her was when she was in line for the bathroom. Whats so memorable about waiting in line for the bathroom? Well, a VAVI employee noticed the line and came over and instructed where everyone could go for shorted bathroom lines. That's rad! I will most definitely be back to ring in 2014!

I have made it to the Vavi NYE bash a few years in a row now. I will have to say this was the most organized one yet. Last year the lines for drinks were a bit tough to handle, this year was pretty smooth on the wait time. -I got hammered -Danced -Laughed -Hung out on a boat -Counted down -Got a midnight kiss -Somehow woke up with a fridge full of Coconut Water the next morning. Big thanks to the Catamaran and Vavi for another awesome NYE. Hope to do it all again next year.

I was beyond impressed with their NYE extravaganza. Glass of champagne upon entry. Coat Check. Plenty of delicious food, which never ran out. 3 levels of music, dance floors and bars. No lines for drinks. All top-shelf alcohol. Photo Station with fun props! Gorgeous deck with view of fireworks. Gourmet donuts. NYE hats, necklaces, etc provided. Beats any other NYE event I've been too! I'd definitely recommend this for years to come.

This years New Years Eve party at the Catamaran was off the wall! The management and everyone working the event that night were very organized and respectful. I loved the music they played as well! They had 2-3 bars which was very nice and made getting FREE DRINKS easy! Vavi i've got to say, you guys really knocked it out of the park on this one. This was by far one of the funnest nights I've had in a long time. They had coat check, plenty of delicious food and drinks. Also, I loved how they had the ball drop and confetti come down once 12 o'clock striked, it really made the night one to remember. I can't say enough good things about this event, and can't wait to attend more Vavi events in the future. you guys rock!!!

Really fun party and, considering the large number of people, very well organized and executed. I never had to wait for a drink or a plate of food, and the staff were super friendly and helpful - both Vavi staff and Catamaran staff. The atmosphere was fun, lots of really friendly good-looking people, décor was a bit cheesy for sure but hey, its New Year's Eve. The boat cruise was great, but unfortunately it was foggy that night so we couldn't see anything. I enjoyed the casino games though and the DJ on the boat was really good. The only thing is - they didn't tell us that the bar shuts down for like 15-20 mins before the boat docks back at the Catamaran (because they don't want people walking off the boat with drinks since no alcohol is allowed on dock). Would've been helpful to know this, but it's ok - we needed a break from the drinking anyway. Inside the Catamaran - 4 rooms of dancing. The largest room was all EDM music, which can get tiring after a while, a little variety would've been nice. Also, that room was the one with all the balloons on the ceiling so we tried to squeeze in there for midnight but it was nearly impossible - dance floor was so crowded it was ridiculous! We got outta there and went into the next room over which was just as fun and way less people. The DJ's were all good - some better than others IMO. I would've preferred more "dance" music like hip hop or top 40 stuff. While they did play some, most of it was somewhere in the house/EDM/techno category. Regardless, we danced the whole night and had a blast! A few suggestions to Vavi for next year: 1. Better beer selection - SD is the beer capitol of the country, you can't just be serving Miller beers...and that Red's apple stuff was gross. Gotta get some local brews! 2. Better food selection - I would say that the quality of the food was somewhere on par with a fast food joint. Soggy buffalo "Wings" aka chicken balls didn't even taste like chicken. 3. Better party favors - step it up just a little bit - many of the favors came out of the packages already broken, and the glow sticks were the absolute worst - they leaked that glow fluid all over us! what a mess! I would suggest quality over quantity. You don't have to have 1000 diff types of favors, just having a few quality hats/noisemakers/glow sticks would have been better. 4. There were lots of great photo booths and photographers all over the place - but where are the photos? Only one photo booth actually gave you photos to take home. no idea where the other photos can be found (ie photo at entry, etc). Would be nice to know. Overall, we had a great time! I would recommend this party to friends for sure.

After you depart from Kewalo Basin, make your way along the Waikiki coastline on the Moana Catamaran. Depending on the wind and ocean conditions, you will be full under sail with just the wind powering you, and at the stroke of midnight, look up to the best views of the New Year's fireworks show!

• The Moana Catamaran is located on the ocean side of the Harbor (back of the harbor), across from the beach park restroom. Check-in starts at 22:45, gate closes at 10:55 pm – Don’t be late – No Refunds, No Exceptions.

Parking information

• Please plan to arrive early. The best and easiest way to get to the Harbor is by Uber, Lyft or cab. Very limited parking is available in the harbor. Additional parking is available at ward shopping areas. The harbor parking lot is located on the Diamond Head, or left, side of the harbor along slips A, B, and C. You are not allowed to park at the Kewalo Basin Beach Park parking located across from your check-in location as this parking is for park users only.

• This activity is not wheelchair accessible.
• People 21 years old and above can participate in this activity.
• This is a barefoot cruise, and all guests will be required to remove their footwear before boarding.

Other requirements

• Participants are required to sign a liability waiver at the time of check-in.

Required items to bring & attire

• Dress to impress, but please note that all footwear will need to be removed before boarding.
• While Hawaii is known for its warm weather, it can get chilly on the water so a light jacket, sweater, or hoodie is recommended.
• Guests who are prone to seasickness should take a motion sickness preventative one hour prior to departure.

• The activity schedule is subject to change or cancellation due to weather or traffic conditions.
• Gratuity is not included in the price.
• Drinks are available for purchase.
• If you are driving on your own, you will be required to pay a parking fee.
• Parking will be very limited due to the holiday celebration, and it is recommended that you utilize public transportation, or a taxi/ride share service.
• The fireworks display is operated by the Hilton Hawaiian Village and/or the City & County of Honolulu, and is subject to cancellation due to weather or other circumstances.
• The gate to the boarding dock will close promptly at 10:55PM, and guests who are not checked in and boarded by this time will not be allowed on the boat. No refunds will be provided in the event you miss the tour.

I always firmly believe that New Year’s Eve is the best time to host a big dinner party, especially if you have never done it before. Everybody is in such high spirits and eager to dress up, that even if you might have a few kitchen mishaps, nobody will seem to notice or care.

Whether you are planning on staying at home or onboard to quietly ring in the New Year, or you just need to line your stomach before you get those dancing shoes on and hit the town till the sun comes up, this impressive-looking tropical-themed dinner party menu will hit all of the sophisticated New Year’s Eve notes. This dinner party menu might look fancy, but believe me, it’s still unbelievably quick and easy to make!

A last little fun fact about this dinner menu is that this is exactly what I made for some pretty high-profile guests onboard a superyacht in the Bahamas to ring in 2022 last New Year!

Lychee Ceviche with Crispy Plantain Chips (1-2)

Simple, fresh and sophisticated, this refreshing fruity ceviche hits all the elegant New Year’s Eve dinner party notes!

1. Ceviche 

Serves 6 Appetizer Portions

• 1-pound red snapper, mahi-mahi or any fresh local white fish
• ½ cup fresh lime juice (about 5 limes)
• ½ cup fresh lemon juice (about 4 limes)
• 1 jalapeno or Fresno pepper, thinly sliced
• 1 can (20 oz) Lychee fruit *
• ½ cup thinly sliced red onion
• ½ cup packed fresh cilantro, roughly chopped
• 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
• 1 tsp fish sauce
• 2Tbsp reserved Lychee juice
• Flaked sea salt
• Fresh or brown coconuts chopped in half for serving, optional

2. Plantain Chips

• Very green unripe plantains *
• High-heat cooking oil for frying, like vegetable, canola or peanut

For the ceviche, thinly slice the fish and sprinkle it with sea salt. Add the fish to a large sealable container or Ziploc bag. Pour in the fresh lime and lemon juice, jalapeno or Fresno pepper, thinly sliced Lychee, red onion, fish sauce, grated ginger and lychee juice. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour and up to 4 hours.

While the ceviche is marinating, prepare the plantain chips. Peel the plantains by using a knife and making long lengthwise slits all the way down each plantain. Peeling a plantain is absolutely not like peeling a banana!

Using a potato peeler or mandolin, thinly slice the plantains lengthwise. Run the peeler under water every couple of slices to make sure the plantain doesn’t get sticky and clog up the peeler. I don’t recommend using a knife to cut the plantains into thin strips, as the strips need to be pretty thin in order to fry up crispy.

Using a deep fryer, air fryer or a pot with oil on the stove (don’t attempt this whilst sailing!), heat up the oil until bubbles start slowly rising from the bottom and fry up the plantain chips in batches. They go pretty quickly, not more than 5 minutes total, so keep a constant eye on them!

Fry till crispy and lightly golden. Drain on a paper towel and sprinkle with sea salt.

When ready to serve, mix in fresh cilantro and add more salt or fish sauce to taste if needed. Serve in half a coconut or bowl of your choice, topped with some extra juice and plantain chips.

*Cans of Lychee are readily available at most grocery stores in the ethnic food aisle or in the canned fruit section

*It is essential to use very firm, unripe green plantains in order to make crispy plantain chips. Believe me. I have made the mistake more than once, thinking that I could get away with using slightly ripe plantains to make these. It ended up in a gigantic mushy mess!

Tropical Mahi - Mahi (1-6)

Now, this recipe might seem like a little bit more effort than my usual recipes l post, but even with four elements to this one dish, there is minimal hands-on time, and everything, besides the fish, can be prepared ahead of time and heated up just before serving.

1. Mango Salsa:

• 2 cups diced fresh or canned mango
• ¾ cup diced red onion
• ¼ - 1 finely chopped jalapeno, depending on your spice level
• 1 cup diced tomato
• 1 cup diced cucumber
• ¼ chopped fresh cilantro
• Drizzle of olive oil
• ½ fresh squeezed lime
• ½ fresh squeezed lemon

Combine all ingredients in a resealable container. Adjust salt, lime and lemon juice to taste and refrigerate until ready to use.

2. Caribbean Mahi- Mahi

• 6 Mahi -Mahi fillets
• Jerk seasoning

Remove the Mahi from the fridge and let it come to room temperature before cooking. Pat dry with a paper towel and drizzle with EVOO, and generously season with jerk spice.

Drizzle some oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Pan-fry the Mahi for about 5-7 minutes per side until the fish is white and flakey. Give them a generous squeeze of fresh lime juice just before they are done.

3. Coral Tulle Decoration

• 160ml water
• 1 heaping Tbsp flour
• Food coloring of choice
• Vegetable oil for frying

Mix all ingredients together, besides the oil, in a small bowl. Heat a nonstick pan over medium heat and add a generous amount of vegetable oil. This is going to be a bit messy, and I highly recommend using a splatter guard if you have one. As I am sure we all know, what happens when you mix water with hot oil, so just be careful when pouring the mixture into the pan as it will splatter! Add just enough to thinly cover the bottom of the pan. Immediately turn the heat down to low.

The mixture will look thick and solid at first, but it will start bubbling and turning into a thin crispy lacey texture in a couple of minutes. You will know that your edible coral decoration is ready once the oil stops bubbling around it.

Using a spatula, carefully remove the coral from the pan and place on a paper towel to dry. Repeat with the remaining mixture.

These can also be prepared a day or two in advance and kept in an airtight container for about 5 days.

4. Coconut Lime Rice

• 2 cups Jasmin rice
• 2 Tbsp butter
• 1 ½ cup water
• 2 cups canned coconut milk, full fat
• 2 limes, zest and juice
• 4 -6 Tbsp fresh chopped cilantro

Heat a saucepan over medium heat. Add butter and then add the rice and stir to coat in the melted butter. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes to toast. Add the water, coconut milk, lime zest, and salt. Stir to combine.

Bring to a simmer, cover and reduce heat to medium-low. Cook for 12 to 15 minutes until the liquid is absorbed and the rice is tender. Add the lime juice and cilantro. Toss to combine and fluff with a fork. Keep warm until ready to serve.

5. Coconut Curry Sauce

• 1 cup coconut milk
• 1 Tbsp apricot jam
• ½ a shallot finely chopped
• 2 tsp curry powder
• ½ tsp turmeric
• 1 tsp Better than Bullion chicken stock or powder chicken stock cube

In a saucepan over medium, melt butter and fry the finely chopped shallot until soft and fragrant. Add the curry powder and turmeric and fry for a minute, stirring constantly. Add the chicken stock, coconut milk and apricot jam. Stir to combine and cook until slightly reduced.

Pour mixture into a blender and blend until completely smooth. Return to the stove and reduce until slightly thickened and glossy. Taste and adjust salt as needed. Keep warm until ready to serve.

6. Assembling the Tropical Mahi

To assemble this simple showstopper, take 6 ramekins or small dishes and fill with rice. Making sure to compact the rice tightly. Invert each ramekin into the center of a plate. Spoon some of the mango salsa around the edge of the plate.

Gently spoon the mango curry sauce around the rice, and top with your juicy sizzling piece of Mahi Mahi. Break of a piece from your coral tulle and place on top of the Mahi. And there you go, you are ready to wow your dinner party guests with minimum effort and maximum flavor!

Flourless Hazelnut Chocolate Torte

You would not believe how utterly rich, decadent and gooey this simple cake is! It’s more like a super fudgy brownie than a cake, and it's naturally completely gluten-free! You can also add any filling options besides just hazelnuts that you prefer, like walnuts, raisins, almonds or whatever you have in your pantry, or simply leave it plain.

I prefer to refrigerate mine overnight before serving, as it makes it even more like a fudge cake and sets it up nice and firm, but there is absolutely no reason not to serve it warm and strait out of the oven either.

• 9 oz good quality dark or semi-sweet chocolate
• 9 oz unsalted butter
• 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
• 7 large eggs at room temperature
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• ½ cup finely chopped hazelnuts
• Shot of espresso or a few tablespoons of dark rum, optional
• Powdered sugar for dusting
• 2 cups chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375 F. Grease and line a 9-inch cake or spring form pan. In a medium size pot over low heat, melt the butter, chocolate and sugar until almost completely melted. Remove from the heat and stir until completely melted; let cool for a couple of minutes. using a whisk, quickly beat in one egg at a time until all of the eggs are fully incorporated, and the batter is thick and glossy. Add vanilla, nuts and espresso or rum if using.

Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 40 to 45 min until a knife inserted near the edge, comes out clean. The torte should still have a little bit of a jiggle in the middle. Remove from the oven and let cool completely before serving.

While the torte is baking, add one cup of chocolate chips to a microwave-safe dish. Microwave on low in 30 to 60-second intervals, stirring in between until melted and glossy. Add the rest of the chocolate chips and stir until melted and glossy.

Spread out a piece of parchment paper on the counter, and make sure this will fit in your fridge. Using the back of a spoon, make long equal chocolate smears across the parchment paper. Don’t make these too thin, as they will crumble when you remove them from the parchment paper later.

Place the chocolate smears in the fridge or freezer until set. You can make these days in advance and keep them in an airtight container in the fridge almost indefinitely.

I like to bake mine the day before and refrigerate it overnight before serving, but it’s completely fine if you can’t wait that long! Serve with whipped cream, chocolate garnish, berries and a dusting of powdered sugar, or whatever your heart desires!

2023 New Year's Eve Extravaganza: Over 100 Superyachts Gather in St Barts

As the countdown to 2024 began, the glamorous harbor of Gustavia once again became the epicenter of high-end St Barts New Year’s Eve celebrations. The Caribbean island, known for its French flair and scenic beauty, hosted a fleet of over 100 luxurious superyachts in port and out in the bay. As usual, it turned out to be an unforgettable night of festivities, with high-profile guests and celebrities making their appearances in this exclusive destination.

Playing host to an outstanding fleet of visiting luxury charter yachts , Gustavia Harbor is the main hub of festivities with its 60 coveted berths and ample anchorage in the bay. Renowned as being one of the most exciting times of the year to embark on a St Barts yacht charter , charter guests can indulge in iconic parties with world-class DJs, mingle with celebrities, and spectate the popular New Year's Eve Regatta.  

Setting the sky alight with an impressive display of fireworks, the party scene around Gustavia is nothing short of spectacular. Whether you're with friends and family or entertaining clients on a corporate charter , the captivating entertainment spreads from deck to shore with many lively bars and restaurants plus a myriad of motor yacht mixers.

Showcasing the high-end appeal of the annual celebrations for visiting Caribbean yacht charters , the 2023 event witnessed the arrival of some truly sensational motor yachts including the likes of the captivating 115m (377ft) charter yacht AHPO . Namely, the largest private yacht charter to be seen in the vicinity of the New Year's celebrations, this iconic Lurssen charter yacht  is a sight to behold with her foredeck helipad, extensive beach club, and indulgent owner's duplex.

Lurssen extended its reach around the harbor with striking 97m (318ft) motor yacht CARINTHIA VII , 95m (312ft) MADSUMMER  and 91m (299ft) charter yacht Lady Lara  also in attendance.

Causing a stir around Fort Karl and Gustavia, multi-award-winning 88m (289ft)  charter yacht PROJECT X from the yard of Golden Yachts  made an appearance for the festivities and showcased her own refit from 2022, as well as 73m (238ft)  motor yacht Quantum of Solace  from Turquoise Yachts . 

A masterpiece in her own right, 75m (247ft)  charter yacht KENSHO continues to impress onlookers wherever she goes, and the New Year celebrations in St Barts were no exception. Recently picking up another award for Best Interior Design in the Motor Yachts 500GT and Above category at the 2023 Boat International Design & Innovation Awards, KENSHO's striking blue hull remains an extraordinary asset to the Admiral Yachts fleet of charter yachts and she certainly made a lasting impression during her latest visit to the waters surrounding the Leeward Islands .

Amadeus Description

Built by the famous Dynamique Yachts shipyard, and having undergone a total refit in 2018, S/Y Amadeus was designed to please the most demanding of yachtsmen. Built for smooth sailing, this elegant cutter rigged sloop has a sleek hull design, comfortably reaching top speeds of 12 knots and ensuring excellent sailing performance. S/Y Amadeus has just undergone this past winter (2018) a major refit such as total repaint top to bottom, new rigging (BSI Denmark), Novourania with new Evinrude 75hp outboard, Splash pool, new Bimini/Sprayhood/Awnings, new exterior fabrics and many other enhancements. In 2016 new “North Sails” were placed onboard. The yacht is maintained in excellent condition with a five-star crew year round. Her generous uncluttered teak deck offers plenty of space for sunbathing. The spacious and unique outdoor saloon has two tables seating upto 12 guests and is a perfect setting for outdoor dining and entertainment. Thanks to a special canopy and roll-up windows, the deck saloon has the added attraction that it can be fully enclosed, making it ideal for all weather conditions. Her forward area includes a splash pool and sun bathing area which can also be shaded with a removable awning. From the cockpit, a stairway leads to the light-filled spacious saloon offering ample seating, ideal for relaxing or enjoying a drink from the bar, and offers a formal dining area. This area also includes a LCD TV, entertainment center, ipod dock station, playstation, and is ideal for indoor activities. She can accommodate 10-12 guests in one full width master stateroom, two double bedded cabins each having one extra single bed and two twin bedded cabins which can be easily converted to double beds (upon request), thus, making her the only 5 double bedded sailboat in the Greek market. She also has a nice selection of toys which include water ski (adult and children), tubes, inflatable canoes, wakeboard, fishing rod and snorkeling gear.

CAPTAIN - Harry Fotopoulos Captain Harry is a graduate of the Merchant Marine Academy and holds a Captain Class A’ Diploma. He also holds a Canadian Commercial Pilot license class B, sailing and speedboat license. He has over 15 years of experience onboard many types of Charter Yachts. He holds Certificates in GMDSS, Fire Fighting & First Aid, Personal Safety, Life Saving, and Ship Security. He has a great knowledge of the Greek islands and will navigate guests to remarkable destinations. During his one season on board he showed great leadership skills and received positive feedback from all guests. He is calm yet very outgoing and speaks very good English. DECKHAND - Konstantinos Santas CHIEF STEWARDESS - Mirella Davint Mirella has 8+ years of experience as a stewardess onboard charter and private yachts. She has a very pleasant personality and she aims to accommodate her guests to the fullest. Comments received from previous guests are memorable. This will be Mirella’s eighth season onboard. Mirella speaks English and she is 38 years old. ENGINEER - Stelios Mandos Stelios holds an Engineer Class B’ Diploma from the Greek Merchant Marine Academy as well as a Sailor’s License. He has over 15 years of experience onboard Ocean-Going Vessels and Charter Yachts. His hobbies include spearfishing and sailing. He speaks good English. Stelios is 45 years old, married with two children. CHEF - Thanasis Kiritsis Thanasis is 39 years old and has worked as a chef for more than 20 years in numerous hotels restaurants, yachts and resorts including owning his own pastry shop / bakery for 5 years. Thanasis looks forward to welcoming his guests on board and introducing them to his culinary world. He speaks good English and Greek. He is a young chef full of energy, skills and passion towards his job. We are confident that he will serve his guests unforgettable flavors. ASSISTANT STEWARDESS - Anastasia Yurash Anastasia is 31 years old and has been in the yachting industry since 2021. Her working experience includes 7 years as a housekeeper and assistant stewardess. Anastasia speaks very good English. One of Anastasia’s strongest attributes is her appetite for work. She is also very sociable, welcoming and looks forward to having guests on board S/Y Amadeus. Her hobbies include Latin dancing, snowboard and yoga.

AMADEUS is a fast cruising sailing yacht built by the famous Dynamique Yachts shipyard and totally refit in 2004, she was designed to please the most demanding of yachtsmen. Built for smooth sailing, this elegant cutter rigged sloop has a sleek hull design that enables her to comfortably reach top speeds of 12 knots and ensures excellent sailing performance.

This sailing yacht's generous uncluttered teak deck with a foredeck pool, offers plenty of space for sunbathing. The spacious and unique outdoor saloon has two tables, a bar and barbeque, a perfect setting for outdoor dining and entertainment. Thanks to a special canopy and roll-up windows, the deck saloon has the added attraction that it can be fully enclosed, making it ideal for all weather conditions. From the cockpit, a stairway leads to the light-filled spacious saloon offering ample seating, ideal for relaxing or enjoying a drink from the bar, and a formal dining area with seating for up to 12 guests.

Accomodation is offered for up to 12 guests in 5 spacious cabins: the bow master cabin on AMADEUS features a double bed, vanity unit and generous storage facilities, as well as audio/visual entertainment. The en-suite bath includes a shower and separate large bath. Two double cabins with additional single bunks situated forward. Two twin cabins situated aft. All cabins with en suite facilities and audio/visual entertainment. Crew of 5 in separate quarters.

A General Description of Sailing Yacht AMADEUS

AMADEUS was previously registered as project/yacht name Amadeus 1er. This 33 metre (109 ft) luxury yacht was built by Dynamique Yachts in 1991. Sailing Yacht AMADEUS is a well proportioned superyacht. The yacht is a modern sloop with a cutter rig. The naval architecture office whom authored the design work on this ship was Philippe Briand. Luxury yacht AMADEUS is a quality yacht that is able to accommodate as many as 12 guests on board and has a total of 5 crew members.

Sailing yacht AMADEUS was built by the famous Dynamique Yachts shipyard .The yacht features superb sailing characteristics which are complimented by her spacious interior and abundant deck space. Sailing sloop AMADEUS can accommodate 10 passengers in five cabins. With one large master stateroom and four additional cabins which are all air conditioned and have en suite bathrooms. She also has two separate salons and a full dining room. The aft deck is fully covered with seating. The fore deck has an unique pool on deck and swimming in the sea is made accessible by a large swim aft platform.

The Construction & Naval Architecture relating to Luxury Yacht AMADEUS

Philippe Briand was the naval architect firm involved in the formal nautical design work for AMADEUS. Also the company Philippe Briand skillfully collaborated on this undertaking. In 1991 she was actually launched to triumph in Marans and following sea trials and final completion was afterwards passed on to the yacht owner. Dynamique Yachts completed their new build sailing yacht in France. A reasonable proportion is brought about with a maximum beam (width) of 7.5 metres / 24.6 feet. With a 3.6m (11.8ft) draught (maximum depth) she is reasonably deep. The material composite was used in the building of the hull of the sailing yacht. Her superstructure above deck is built with the use of composite. Over the deck of AMADEUS she is 32.7 (107.3 ft) in length. In 2004 extra refitting and modernisation was also finished.

Engines & Speed For S/Y AMADEUS:

She is driven by twin screw propellers. The main engine of the ship gives 375 horse power (or 276 kilowatts). She is equiped with 2 engines. The combined thrust for the boat is therefore 750 HP / 552 KW.

Bestowing bedding for a maximum of 12 yacht guests sleeping aboard, the AMADEUS accommodates them in style. Normally the vessel requires approximately 5 professional crewmembers to run.

Her master cabin features a walk around king bed, desk/vanity, and en-suite bathroom. Additionally, there are two guest cabins each with a queen bed convertible to two twins, and two guest cabins each with a queen bed and twin bed. Each guest cabin has an en-suite.

Her main salon has a spacious, contoured conversational area, along with a large, flatscreen T.V. The aft deck features al fresco dining with Bimini top. Up on deck there are sun pads and a splash pool for you and your guests to enjoy.

Watersports offered include a 15 foot tender with 75hp engine, water skis for adults and children, tube, wakeboard, kayak, fishing gear, snorkeling gear, and rendezvous diving.

Inside the boat, a staircase from the cockpit leads to a well-lit and roomy saloon area with plenty of seating, including a formal dining area, bar, LCD TV, entertainment center, iPod dock station, and Playstation. Sailing Yacht AMADEUS can accommodate 10-12 guests in five large cabins, including a full-width master stateroom and two double cabins, each with an extra single bed. The two twin cabins can also be converted to doubles upon request, making her the only sailboat on the Greek market with five double beds.

To add to the fun, sailing yacht AMADEUS also comes with a range of water toys, including adult and children’s water skis, tubes, inflatable canoes, wakeboard, fishing rod, and snorkeling gear. She was built by Dynamique Yachts in 1996 and underwent a refit in 2014/2018.

Accomodation is offered for 10 -12 guests in 5 spacious cabins: Master cabin forward features a double bed, vanity unit and generous storage facilities, as well as audio/visual entertainment. The en-suite includess a large bath tub, shower and separate WC. Two identical double cabins with additional single bunks situated forward. Two identical double cabins situated aft which can be convertible to twins. (Total 5 double beds) All cabins with en suite facilities and audio/visual entertainment.

A professional crew of 5-6 members are accommodated in separate quarters.

Charter the AMADEUS

AMADEUS is a 110-foot sailing yacht that can accommodate ten to twelve passengers in five staterooms as follows: a spacious Owner’s stateroom with a double bed, a vanity and an entertainment unit including TV, DVD and music system; two cabins with a double bed and an additional single bed; two cabins with two twin beds each. All staterooms have en suite bathrooms, a TV, DVD and CD player. There are two separate salons onboard as well as a full dining room. The aft deck is fully covered and has seating for all guests to dine in the open air. Forward of the cockpit is a lovely cushioned area for sunning and an unusual pool is found in the fore of the yacht. Swimming in the sea is made accessible by the large swim aft platform.

We test sailed the 50L last winter in Florida. The L version has the optional lounge on top of the hardtop over the cockpit. Unlike some cats with flying bridges and lounges up high, the 50L doesn’t feel like a layer wedding cake.

The steering station is a traditional raised helm to starboard, and the lounge is just up a few stairs from there. The helmsman is in contact with those in the main cockpit and those in the lounge. Out sailing, we got the 50L up to 10 knots in a good breeze, so the boat is fast. It is also commodious and will make a very comfortable home for a family or a charter party.

Seawind 1600

The new Seawind 1600 has been in the works for a while and has finally arrived on the market. Strange Glow Over Moscow Skies Triggers Panic as Explosions Reported

B right flashes lit up the night sky in southern Moscow in the early hours of Thursday morning, new footage appears to show, following reports of an explosion at an electrical substation on the outskirts of the city.

Video snippets circulating on Russian-language Telegram channels show a series of flashes on the horizon of a cloudy night sky, momentarily turning the sky a number of different colors. In a clip shared by Russian outlet MSK1.ru, smoke can be seen rising from a building during the flashes lighting up the scene.

Newsweek was unable to independently verify the details of the video clips, including when and where it was filmed. The Russian Ministry of Emergency situations has been contacted via email.

Several Russian Telegram accounts said early on Thursday that residents of southern Moscow reported an explosion and a fire breaking out at an electrical substation in the Leninsky district, southeast of central Moscow.

Local authorities in the Leninsky district told Russian outlet RBC that the explosion had happened in the village of Molokovo. "All vital facilities are operating as normal," Leninsky district officials told the outlet.

The incident at the substation in Molokovo took place just before 2 a.m. local time, MSK1.ru reported.

Messages published by the ASTRA Telegram account, run by independent Russian journalists, appear to show residents close to the substation panicking as they question the bright flashes in the sky. One local resident describes seeing the bright light before losing access to electricity, with another calling the incident a "nightmare."

More than 10 villages and towns in the southeast of Moscow lost access to electricity, the ASTRA Telegram account also reported. The town of Lytkarino to the southeast of Moscow, lost electricity, wrote the eastern European-based independent outlet, Meduza.

Outages were reported in the southern Domodedovo area of the city, according to another Russian outlet, as well as power failures in western Moscow. Electricity was then restored to the areas, the Strana.ua outlet reported.

The cause of the reported explosion is not known. A Telegram account aggregating news for the Lytkarino area described the incident as "an ordinary accident at a substation."

The MSK1.ru outlet quoted a local resident who speculated that a drone may have been responsible for the explosion, but no other Russian source reported this as a possible cause.

Ukraine has repeatedly targeted Moscow with long-range aerial drones in recent months, including a dramatic wave of strikes in late May.

On Sunday, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said the region's air defense systems had intercepted an aerial drone over the city of Elektrostal, to the east of Moscow. No damage or casualties were reported, he said.

The previous day, Russian air defenses detected and shot down another drone flying over the Bogorodsky district, northeast of central Moscow, Sobyanin said.

There is currently no evidence that an aerial drone was responsible for the reported overnight explosion at the electrical substation in southern Moscow.
