Merri-Makers at Mallard Island Yacht Club is a waterfront wedding venue in Manahawkin, New Jersey. Facilities and Capacity.

The Mallard Island Yacht Club is nestled west of Long Beach Island, with an extensive dock leading into the bay for oceanside photo sessions. Boathouse Chapel is the designated ceremony venue, which features floor-to-ceiling windows for plenty of natural light and sea views. Its high ceiling is adorned with metal beams, which can be easily customized with your preferred drapery. The couple will exchange vows with a backdrop of a large natural-stone fireplace and mantle, basking in the light of an elegant crystal chandelier. For receptions, the Ballroom can host up to 250 guests for a fun-filled evening. Its detailed chandeliers and grand architecture adds a classic touch to any couple’s theme. French doors open to the venue’s scenic atrium and outdoor plaza, modeled after the Rathskeller’s Gothic Architecture to make you feel like you’re time-traveling. The venue has two separate get-ready suites, for the soon-to-be-weds to prepare with their respective entourages. The 3,000-square-foot penthouse occupies the entire fourth floor, and is fully equipped with an in-suite salon, leather chairs, and a relaxing rainfall shower. Their second dressing suite is created from restored army barracks, and is an ideal space for history enthusiasts. The property has full wheelchair accessibility, to ensure that all your guests can enjoy your special day.

Tables, chairs, and various décor will be provided by the onsite staff, and will handle the set-up and tear down while you focus on the important things. The team’s event coordinator will work to make sure everything goes according to plan, and that the venue matches your ideal vision. The beautiful Barnegat Bay surrounds this gorgeous Long Beach Island estate. There is nothing more romantic than exchanging vows in front of a stacked stone fireplace. The feeling of intimacy is augmented by the presence of loved ones, the soft glow of candles and a crisp ocean breeze. If you prefer an al fresco ceremony, exchange vows out on the lush lawn under the warmth of the golden sun. The gothic sanctuary is an outdoor plaza with grand archways and ornate ceilings that evoke a sense of Old-World Charm. This space is a great location for cocktail hour as your guests mingle, enjoying cocktails, appetizers, and a coastal breeze. Your wedding celebration reaches its peak with a grand reception in the club’s elegant and lavish ballroom. Tiffany blue ceilings and romantic cove lighting set the stage for an enchanting evening. After dinner, French doors lead into a scenic atrium where you and your guests can dance the night away under a sparkling array of romantic lighting. The dedicated staff will assist you to ensure that no detail is spared when planning your special day.

Kayla and Frank’s wedding at Mallard Island Yacht Club was such a delight to capture!

Mallard Island Yacht Club is a picturesque venue for a summer wedding. Because of its location on the bay, you can enjoy the salty summer air and epic sunsets. The bridal suite is complete luxury. In addition to having a regal feeling bedroom, the bathroom is bigger than most apartments! Another special feature of this venue is the beautiful, bright chapel that juts out into the bay. Because it’s surrounded by water, it is the most romantic chapel we have ever seen.

The bride’s classic wedding makeup was done by Make Me Up Eva and her hair by Cassandra DeRosa. Kayla is a natural beauty but because she hired these two talented ladies, she looked absolutely flawless!

The bridesmaids wore blush pink dresses. In order to compliment their soft colors, the groomsmen wore navy tuxedos resulting in a modern spin on a classic look. The blush, ivory, and champagne color scheme is extremely popular this year. It is always a timeless choice.

Kayla has amazing taste and decided to have MDS design her flowers, creating stunning results. The brides bouquet was all white. The result of blending white peonies, roses, and baby’s breath was classic and elegant. In order to compliment the blush bridesmaids dresses, they added soft pink flowers to the centerpieces.

Because they did not want to miss their cocktail hour, Kayla and Frank decided on a first look. First, we photographed the couple privately so they could enjoy a few quite moments together. Next, we added the bridal party to the wedding photos. Because they had such a large bridal party, we decided to photograph them on the scenic dock. When they started getting silly and playful, I have to admit I was secretly praying no one fell into the bay!

Immediately following the ceremony, we quickly grabbed Kayla and Frank for five minutes of sunset photos. Because they timed their ceremony to end right at sunset, the lighting was perfect!

Kayla and Frank wanted a personalized feel to their wedding. In order to honor their loved ones who could not be present, they placed framed photos throughout the Yacht Club. In addition to a traditional memory table, they also arranged photos of their loved ones in a picture cabinet. Because they wanted to take advantage of the beautiful summer weather, they hired a cigar roller during the reception. It seemed by the end of the night, all of the men were enjoying their cigars while sitting near the fire pits outside. After the cake cutting, there was an ice cream bar for the guests. We love how fun and colorful sprinkles are, so we decided to photograph the rings in them.

Last but not least, Kayla and Frank looked amazing, and were such a sweet and fun couple. Congrats!

Mallard Island Yacht Club Wedding

Despite the obstacles and stresses, Austin and Loressa’s day came together beautifully. The Mallard Island Yacht Club in Manahawkin, NJ was an incredible waterfront venue with so many great views and places to capture their love for each other. It also happened to be the first venue Loressa visited and fit her vision of a “New England Classy” wedding perfectly.

The ceremony was special from the start as Loressa’s Dad walked her down the aisle, after having been paralyzed from the neck down just four years ago. Despite being told he would never walk again, he beat all the odds and was able to not only walk Loressa down the aisle but also dance with her at the reception. Talk about an emotional moment!

From the huge smile on Austin’s face when Loressa walked down the aisle, to their personalized vows, to the lively reception that followed, Loressa and Austin’s day was so special. Personalized touches like a champagne wall built by the mother-of-the-bride and a live painter at the reception painting a portrait of Loressa and Austin’s first dance made their day all the more unique and memorable.

The inspiration behind my day really went into mirroring the classiness of the venue. When looking for a venue, I had a completely open mind and the only criteria that it needed to meet was that it needed to be by the water. Mallard Island Yacht Club was the first venue that I toured and I fell in love with it instantly.

When planning this wedding, it felt like I was picking random pieces and details that I knew I liked but wasn’t certain if they all would mesh together. Luckily, on the wedding day, it all seemed to correlate with each other and flow nicely and didn’t look piecemealed.

I also had my family friend and youth pastor marry us. He has been a great role model both in life and with my relationship with Jesus since I was 11 years old so having him marry me and my husband was really special.

From the bride: Luckily the beauty of Mallard Island Yacht Club is the venue itself and the details that it already comes with so I didn’t have to do much to decorate my space. I did have flowers from my florist put up on the mantel at the ceremony and my mom bought fake ivy to put on the doors of the ceremony for something extra.

Additionally, we did add some personal touches to the venue in our framed pictures at the reception and our champagne wall. The champagne wall was a labor of love that my mother and uncle made from scratch.

My husband and I are not very much into cake and decided to not put so much attention on our wedding cake but rather have more dessert options. So instead of cake, we opted for a chocolate fountain, donut wall, and ice cream sundae bar.

Jennifer and Dan’s Mallard Island Yacht Club wedding is definitely one that just screams to be shared! Every single detail about their big day was styled to perfection, set against the backdrop of the most romantic venue. We just loved the beautifully lit open are of the bridal suite where the girls got ready, complimented by the nautical themed boathouse where the guys got ready. Between Mallard Island and Bonnet Island Estate, the Weddings of Distinction brand has really set itself apart in the world of classy wedding venues. Each one offers a bit of it’s own charm, while delivering the impeccable standards and quality they are so well known for. It’s seriously a treat for us every time we have the honor of shooting a wedding in one of their gorgeous spaces. Much like Bonnet, the Mallard Island Yacht Club also comes equipped with the most adorable outdoor chapel, situated just perfectly on the water, where Jennifer and Dan recited their vows in front of all their family and friends.

We couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather for their big day either – they seriously lucked out!! Every detail of their day couldn’t have been possible without the incredible talents of all the vendors, which included floral design by Twisted Willow Flowers, Catering by Taste Catering, Makeup by Beach House Spa, Hair by Katherine Klint Hair Artistry, and Entertainment by Center Stage Entertainment and Jennifer’s beautiful gown was made by designer Watters Wtoo. We are so honored that Jennifer and Dan allowed us to go on this journey with them and capture their big day! Congratulations to the new Mr + Mrs!!
