The SeaDream Yacht Club has been set apart from the beginning; they whisk you away on a more intimate, charming voyage than any cruise line could.

On large cruise lines you can come to expect fun and entertainment for the masses. But, when it comes to attention to detail and personalized excursions, they can seem to fall short. This is where the SeaDream Yacht Club comes in. With a guest capacity topping out at one hundred and twelve, with ninety five crew on board, the SeaDream Yacht Club has been created to rise above. Elegant informality, luxury, and the privacy of guests has been crafted in to every inch of the three hundred and forty four foot boat.

A Little About The SeaDream I & II

With six floors, there are plenty of amenities and private spaces built into the twin yachts, SeaDream I and SeaDream II. You’ll never be short on drinks with a different bar or restaurant located on each of the floors of the ship. For places to find some entertainment, sneak away to the card room, the retractable water sports marina,  library, or casino. To keep you fit and fresh, there is also a boutique, fitness center, spa , and beauty salon on board. Incase of any medical issues, you can be relieved that there are medical facilities on sight. Lastly, there is a golf simulator as well as Sun Beds in case there are some dreary days at sea. So, whatever you’re looking for in your perfect yacht vacation, the SeaDream Yacht Club can deliver.

SeaDream I & II Features & Benefits

Enjoy the ample staterooms.

Each room or suite you can choose from has an ocean view, so you won’t be disappointed whatever your choice may be. Starting on the smaller side, the 54 SeaDream Yacht Club Staterooms are 195 square feet, with many of the rooms being able to connect, doubling your space. This is known as the Commodore Suite. In the Staterooms, you can choose from two twin beds or one queen bed. Each room with have an elegant marble-lined bathroom with a luxurious shower. The living area is ample in size, having a sofa, chair, cocktail table, built-in dresser and writing desk. As with all rooms, you will have a TV, safe, Belgian linens and towels, and wifi in additional to typical boutique hotel amenities.

Stay in The Classy Suites

For more space and elegance, bump up to one of the Suites. If you’ve upgraded to the Commodore Suite, you can choose for the second attached room to either have the additional Queen bed or have that switched to a dining area. The Admiral Suite is 375 square feet of beauty. With three picture windows, you will have views from both your living and dining area. You will have a private master bedroom with a queen bed and closet as well. Finally, your bathroom has not only the mulit-jet shower, but a soaking tub as well. To truly experience the luxury and relaxation that the SeaDream Yacht Club offers, book the Admiral Suite.

The last Suite option is the Owners’ Suite. It is similar in amenities to the Admiral Suite, but has a total of 447 square feet and is oriented a little different. The soaking tub has an ocean view, which is hands-down the best spot on the ship. It has a separate guest bath as well if you need to escape as your partner entertains. So, this final choice of suite is the pinnacle of perfection.

Experience the SeaDream Signature Cuisine

The SeaDream Yacht Club gourmet 5-star dining has gotten praise all around the globe. Whether you enjoy a perfect filet mignon, fresh, succulent lobster, or would like to try the guest favorite, L’oeuf Poule Au Caviar “Surprise”, there are food options for all. If you get hungry at unusual times of day, there are always available à la carte options as well. Included in the price of the yacht experience are Welcome Aboard cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, morning coffee, afternoons snacks, and tea service. There is an after-dinner gathering called the Dessert Extravaganza, and, yes, it is exactly as it sounds. It is a delectable display of the finest baked treats, pies, tarts, ice cream, and even bananas foster. It is simply the perfect end to a day in the sun.

If you desire a raw, organic, or vegan diet, these are all available as well. This menu has been designed in collaboration with the Hippocrates Health Institute to provide every meal as well as dessert. There are sugar-free and gluten-free options as well. If these activities on board aren’t enough, the activities for the water include sailboats, catamarans, kayaks, banana boats, tubing, wake boarding, waterskiing, snorkeling, floating island & trampoline, stand-up paddle-boards, and jet skis.

For your afternoon or evening pleasure, enjoy the bar atmosphere at the Top of the Yacht Bar. Whether it’s a fine cigar, delectable nightcap, or a little afternoon pick-me-up, you’ll find it here. Often filled with dancing and live guitar music, it’s the hot spot on the yacht. The Casino is open into the night if you’re feeling lucky, but if you think you’ve found your voice, hop on over to the Piano Bar and request a tune. There will also be movies out on deck with all the fixins’, as well as a library with board games to challenge your new friends.

The smaller size of the SeaDream Yacht Club vessels allow for you to port in more unique, exclusive places. At each port, there will be ample activities led by the crew. For those seeking a still delightful experience but hoping for a lower price point and more options, check out the Regal Princess . A full on cruise ship, you will have a multitude of dining options and entertainment to choose from. The array of rooms to stay vary from the simplest of bunk rooms to exquisite balcony-clad suites. This cruise-line tends to be more couple-focused, just like the SeaDream Yacht Club.

Crystal Serenity

For a classier step up from the Regal Princess, but still a cruise-line, try the Crystal Serenity . A newer fleet ship, it has been outfitted for more space and detail all around. One of the perks of this ship is that it has over twenty destinations, compared to SeaDream’s four. This is on the classier end of cruise ships, so it tends to attract a retired, “country club” crowd. Keep that in mind before booking your family vacation here.

Oceania Marina

The Oceania Marina is a mid-sized vessel, so in between the SeaDream Yacht Club and your oversized cruise ship. This allows for still larger suites and more entertainment than a yacht, but more attention to detail than a full ship. The Oceania Marina has all the amenities that the SeaDream Yacht Club has, but bigger. So, take a minute to think about what you really want out of the experience before booking.

I must admit that I had never completely understood SeaDream's tagline 'It's yachting, not cruising'. After all, a SeaDream Yacht Club cruise features most of the elements that you would expect from a luxury cruise.

However, after being fortunate enough to sail aboard the newly refurbished SeaDream II, I've now completely grasped this - it's about the lifestyle on board, and the way the experience is delivered.

We sailed from Rome to Marseille and were treated to stops in the heart of Bonifacio, St Tropez and Cassis. Three ports that truly demonstrate the fact that SeaDream I and II are yachts, not ships, and can visit these small, charming and high-end ports with ease. SeaDream's small yachts can dock or anchor in the heart of the action, allowing you to venture ashore within walking distance of the town or village.

Our Yacht Club Stateroom on Deck 3 was tastefully decorated in beiges and creams, with cleverly positioned mirrors to reflect the light, making it a bright and airy space. This freshly refurbished décor is present across the other three grades of accommodation on board, and sister yacht SeaDream I will undergo the same changes in March 2022.

Some of these Yacht Club Staterooms can be combined to create a Commodore Suite, for double the size and double the bathrooms. You've also got the choice of staying in an Admiral Suite to benefit from a large bathroom with bath tub and separate shower, and more space for a lounge and dining table, or you can opt for the Owners Suite, with even more living space. With SeaDream there's no balcony staterooms or suites - the yacht itself is your balcony.

A voyage with SeaDream includes all meals, drinks and gratuities, and the yachting concept is key whether you're going ashore or staying onboard. Rather than having a menu of excursions, the Yacht Club offers one Land Adventure per port at an additional cost - these range from bike rides and beach trips to wine and food tastings, or, as we experienced, a complimentary 'Shopping with the Chef' excursion in St Tropez. Chef Tomasz arranged an exclusive Rosé tasting with oysters, snails, French cheeses, nuts and fruits at 'Le Cave du Golfe'; a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon where the Chef and Club Director insisted that nobody's glass should be empty!

SeaDream's Club Director provides a brief overview of each port of call the night before you arrive, with details of what you can see, what that place is renowned for and any hints and tips on how to enjoy your time ashore. You're then armed with ideas to wander ashore at your leisure and do your own thing.

If you decide to remain on board, you're welcome to find a cosy spot on one of the Balinese beds or sun loungers, relax in one of three Jacuzzis, float in the picture-perfect open-air pool or head to a quiet corner in the library and lose yourself in a must-read book. You can also reward yourself with a spa treatment at the only Thai-certified Spa at sea, challenge yourself to a workout in the gym or (weather and port authority permitting) head down to the watersports marina for a spin on the jetskis or an exhilarating ride on the yacht's banana boat.

You certainly cannot deny the quality and taste of every dish served on board. SeaDream's two restaurants serve delectable dishes for dinner in the Dining Salon and delicious menus for breakfast and lunch in the Top Side Restaurant. In warmer weather you can ask to dine up on deck or benefit from in-suite dining instead. Reflecting the various nationalities of the crew, SeaDream's menus provide dishes from all corners of the world, some traditional, some fusion, so you're really spoilt for choice, and they'll always cater for special dietary requirements too.

Every evening SeaDream's resident pianist plays in the Main Salon whilst guests congregate for pre-dinner drinks and canapés. After dinner, the pianist will head up to the Piano Bar for a singalong around the transparent piano top, or provide background music for guests having a flutter in the small casino. If you're in the mood for dancing, head up to the Top of the Yacht Bar (no prizes for guessing where this is located) where the barman is more than happy to serve you until you decide to head to bed.

Other benefits of yachting with SeaDream in warmer weather are the opportunities for 'Starlit Movie' nights outside on the pool deck with pillows, blankets and fresh popcorn, or you can sleep under the stars out on the Balinese beds, which are made up with plush Belgian bed linens so that you can fall asleep listening to the soothing sounds of the sea. In the Caribbean, SeaDream also serve their signature 'Champagne and Caviar Splash' with a gourmet beach barbecue, a glass (or three) of bubbles and fine caviar as you party away in the sand.

Accommodating just 112 lucky guests, this gorgeous mega yacht is ideal if you're looking to fully relax, switch off and unwind from your everyday life in comfortable, cosy and quiet surroundings. All the while, you'll be looked after like a treasured member of the family by dedicated, efficient and friendly crew.

SeaDream Yacht Club

SeaDream Yacht Club prides itself in providing a small-ship experience closer to yachting than what you find on other lines. You'll sail with 100 or so other guests, and the identical ships — launched in 2001 and appropriately named  SeaDream I  and  SeaDream II  — have a carefree atmosphere and a resort casual dress code. The food is delicious, the wine is free-flowing (and complimentary!), the piano bar is usually packed, and caviar and Champagne are served on the beach. Both yachts underwent multi-million-dollar refurbishments in 2022 that completely redesigned the staterooms, installed new teak decking, and added two couples’ Jacuzzis on deck 6 forward for 360-degree views. What’s not to love?

Water Sports Marinas:  Both ships have retractable marinas that can be opened when seas are calm. From there, guests can ride personal watercraft, paddle glass-bottomed kayaks, or snorkel.

The Champagne and Caviar Splash: This casual party with upscale food and drink is thrown on Caribbean beaches. The bar is set up on a surfboard in the shallow water, and a barbecue lunch is served.

Sleeping Under the Stars: SeaDream makes up the double-wide Balinese beds on deck with sheets, pillows, and duvets so you can sleep out in the open air. Reserve the beds at the front of the ship early — they’re the biggest, quietest, and most private, and are quickly booked.

Everything Is Included:  All-inclusive here means numerous wine options with lunch and dinner, not just one. It also means cocktails in the alfresco Top of the Yacht Bar and fresh, hot popcorn with movies. And it means no tipping unless, of course, you want to reward the amazing servers.

Grown-Ups: Affluent, mature couples with convivial personalities and a taste for the good life like the social nature of these intimate ships.

You Won't Find Balconies: Don’t expect private verandas on these vessels, which were built before balconies became common.

The 1984-built SeaDream 1 yacht was constructed by STX Finland (Petter Yran & Bjorn Storbraaten, Helsinki Finland ). Previously, the cruise ship was operated by Cunard Line as "Sea Goddess I". The vessel is in SeaDream Yacht Club's fleet since 2001. The only fleetmate is the sistership SeaDream 2 (1985), with a newbuild planned for the future - SeaDream Innovation (concept superyacht).

The vessel (IMO number 8203438) is currently Bahamas- flagged (MMSI 308908000) and registered in Nassau .

History - construction and ownership

The 112-passenger ship SeaDream I is indistinguishable from the sistership SeaDream II . She was designed for independent, experienced travelers who dislike large ships with kids running around, and all the dressing up - ties are useless here. Inside SeaDream I, there is a feeling of discreet sophistication. The public rooms are elegant and chic, with potpourri and flowers everywhere.

Decks and Cabins

The superyacht SeaDream 2 has a total of 56 staterooms (all are Suites, in 4 grades) and max passenger capacity 112 (plus 100 staff-crew. Most are the Yacht Club Staterooms (54 total, sized 195 ft2 / 18 m2), of which 16x can be converted/connected into Commodore Suites (8 total, sized 390 ft2 / 36 m2).

The ship has no cabins with step-out balconies. The largest accommodations are the Owner Suite (445 ft2 / 41 m2) and Admiral Suite (375 ft2 / 35 m2).

Each stateroom features a marble bathroom (Bulgari bath amenities, plush cotton bathrobes, magnifying mirror, massage shower units), spacious living room, smart UHDTV, CD/DVD system, USB charging ports, Internet outlets, iPod stations, personalized stationeries. Refrigerators and mini-bars are stocked with soft drinks, beers, bottled spring water (all beverages are complimentary).

The boat has 6 decks , of which 5 are passenger-accessible and 3 with cabins.

Shipboard dining options - Food and Drinks

A delightful feature of SeaDream cruises in warm areas is the beach barbecue "caviar in the surf" (land BBQ dining experience). Another benefit is the drinks onboard, which except connoisseur wines and premium brands, are all free. All meals in the Dining Room are open seating, all the time. Breakfast is typically served at the ship's Topside Restaurant. Guests can choose from a small array of fruits, bread, cereals and yogurt at a mini-buffet. Hot dishes are ordered from a menu. Lunch is also served at the Topside, while dinner locales vary.

Shipboard entertainment options - Fun and Sport

SeaDream entertainment options include a Piano Bar, Main Lounge, Boutique, Promenade (on Deck 5), Spa, Gym, Beauty Salon, first-run movies, aft-sundeck's swimming pool and Jacuzzi/whirlpool. The main gathering places for passengers are the lounge, as well as the delightful library and living room. Have a night at the piano bar (also serves as a Karaoke Bar), or stay at the small casino with 5x slot machines and 2x blackjack tables. Complimentary to all tourists are provided snorkeling gear, kayaks, wakeboards, stand-up paddleboards, sailboats, jet skis, Hobie Cats (sailing catamarans), a banana boat, a floating island and a trampoline, as well as electric mountain bikes.

Both SeaDream yachts feature "Top of the Yacht" bars (added during the drydocks in 2001), along with the 8x alcoves set to the starboard and port sides of the Funnel/smokestack (equipped with padded two-person loungers). At the front part of the Sundeck, there are large hammocks, more sunloungers and 2x Jacuzzies (added during the drydock in 2022), as well as a Golf Simulator (with 30+ golf course choices) that doubles as Cinema/Theater.

The superyacht has 1 elevator (midship, interconnecting all decks but 1-CrewDeck and 6-Sundeck) and Infirmary/Medical Facility (hospital and pharmacy, served by a resident physician).

Itineraries

Traditionally for SeaDream yachts, SeaDream 1 itinerary program is based on Mediterranean voyages (homeporting in Civitavecchia-Rome , Venice , Piraeus-Athens , Istanbul Turkey ), as well as Caribbean voyages (mainly 7-days in length) with homeporting in Bridgetown Barbados .

The cruise ship is also open for private charters with custom-designed itineraries.

Following the Coronavirus crisis, both SeaDream yachts restarted operations in July 2021 (Europe/Mediterranean deployment). The Caribbean operations were restarted in November 2021, with SeaDream 2 from San Juan Puerto Rico (Nov 20) and SeaDream 1 from Bridgetown Barbados (Nov 26).

SeaDream 1 cruise ship is the line's first of all 2 (for now) top luxury all-inclusive cruise yachts. Her sister in the fleet is the yacht Sea Dream 2 . The ship was built in 1984 and chartered to Sea Goddess Cruises (as "Sea Goddess I" between 1984-1998), as "Seabourn Goddess I" (to Cunard and Seabourn , between 1999-2001) and operated under its current name by the shipowner since 2001.

SeaDream 1 cruises in the Mediterranean (visiting islands and ports in Italy, Greece, Turkey, France / French Riviera , Spain, also the Black Sea) and in the Caribbean (during winter). Transatlantic cruise deals are offered seasonally on the yacht's the Atlantic Ocean repositioning crossings. Some of the itineraries can be combined into back-to-back cruise deals (longer, discount-priced voyages). While generally departures and call port times are pre-set, the Captain can modify the yacht's cruise schedule and adjust those times (even seaports) along the route - if that would please his guests. Also, while most Caribbean cruise ships depart from ports of call in late-afternoon, SeaDream 1 is often departing in late-evening - just to give its affluent guests the chance to enjoy the local restaurants or the nightlife. Many cruise itineraries additionally feature scheduled overnight stays in ports.

The yacht's passenger capacity is only 112 guests, making it perfect for cruise ship charters, that usually serve corporate business meetings, "rich family" reunions, celebrities' anniversaries at sea, etc. On such deals, the cruise itinerary route for the yacht's charter is determined by the booking party.

SeaDream 1 refurbishments review

In 2022 (January and May), SeaDream conducted a USD 10 million (EUR 8,8M) drydock refurbishment project for both yachts at Navalrocha Ship Repair Lisbon (Portugal).

Works included full-scale renovations of all staterooms (new furniture, hardware, textiles, wardrobes, electrical upgrades / USB charging ports, Wi-Fi, fingerprint sensor lights, 55-inch smart HDTVs), all outside deck spaces (premium teakwood flooring, premium mahogany Balinese beds and sun loungers, Loro Piana upholstery and cushions, Frette towels, TUUCI parasols and hammocks), upgraded cabin amenities (woven lines, silk pajamas, silver ice buckets, GioBagnara Miramar trays).

Forward on Deck 6 (Sundeck's sunbathing area) were installed 2x new Jacuzzies and 2x new rain showers.

The aft-located/stern Marina Platform was also upgraded.
