The optimal time for your sailing adventure is between June and September, with an average of 12 hours of sunshine per day, water temperatures of 23.5 degrees Celsius, and outdoor temperatures of 30 degrees Celsius. Therefore, nothing will stand in the way of your jump into the turquoise blue water.
It is possible to book a private yacht without a skipper, however, having one on board can provide many benefits to your overall experience. For example, a skipper will take care of the sailing, docking and anchoring of your vessel. This will leave you with more time to relax and enjoy the sights of the Zadar archipelago. Moreover, a skipper will be familiar with the region, so they will ensure that you see the very best beaches and attractions. Ultimately, a skipper will help you have a more luxurious experience.
Centre of zadar.
Zadar is a city with a 3,000-year-long history. In Roman antiquity, it became an urban centre and remained so for two millennia. Its alleys, squares, seawall, churches and monumental heritage reveal the city's antiquity and continuity at every turn, while its modern facilities show the vision of modernity and inspire new travellers. You can take a journey through time by visiting the Roman Forum and diving deep into the history of Croatia. You can also visit the Church of St Donatus from the 9th century. The church is the largest pre-Romanesque building in Croatia.
Want to reach high and enjoy unforgettable views? Then you must marvel at the tallest lighthouse on the Adriatic locally. The 42-metre-high structure is located just 35 kilometres west of the city of Zadar on the north west cape of the island of Dugi Otok. Fun fact: The lighthouse's specific bright yellow colour is because 100,000 eggs were mixed into it during construction.
Are you a fan of art? Then we recommend visiting this architectural object that is simultaneously an experimental musical instrument. Located in the western part of the Zadar peninsula in Croatia, the Sea Organ consists of a group of pipes running under a large marble staircase. The sea waves create air pressure that produces random but quite harmonically arranged sounds in the pipes.
Are you attracted to pristine islands with a dreamy character? Sail to the Kornati Islands, where you will find 140 uninhabited islands. You can begin your journey from Marina Borik or Zadar Marina and then navigate with your boat rental to the islands. Circling around these islands with your private yacht charter is a great opportunity to see all the fantastic bays and rocky cliffs of the landscape. Make sure to take your snorkelling goggles! The crystal clear waters offer a great chance to admire the unique marine life of the area that hides within the caves and grottoes.
One of the many advantages of chartering a yacht in Zadar is that there are so many beautiful destinations nearby. This way, if you have the time, we highly recommend island hopping or taking several days to explore more of the Mediterranean! For example, you can of course travel west until you reach the eastern coast of Italy. Alternatively, if you have more time, you can head south to the Ionian Sea and visit southern Italy or Greece. No matter where you decide to go, you are sure to have an unforgettable boating holiday!

At Click&Boat, you have the option to rent a boat with or without a skipper in Zadar , Croatia . Even if you have a valid sailing licence, we always recommend opting for a skippered vessel to enhance your experience on the water. If you have a sailing licence and want to take on the challenge of navigating the boat, do not worry!
A skipper can simply serve as an extra set of hands in an emergency. But perhaps the best part about having a skipper present is that they are locals of the area and can take you to see everything on your sailing itinerary and more. They will show you all the most sought-after sights and some hidden gems you might not have known about otherwise. For an all-inclusive and personalised yacht charter, rent a boat in Zadar with a skipper!
If you have sailing experience and prefer a bareboat charter for your sailing adventure, you can rent a boat without a skipper in Zadar . During the shoulder season in May and October, you will find cooler weather but much quieter streets as there are fewer tourists. Therefore, the best time to charter a boat in Zadar largely depends on your preferences and interests.
The type of boat you should for your Zadar boat rental will depend on the sort of holiday you want. If you only plan to sail for a few days, we’d recommend a daily rental, such as a motorboat or a RIB.
However, if you’re after a longer holiday of a week or more, we’d recommend a more spacious and comfortable vessel such as a catamaran. This boat is ideal for family holidays or a trip with a group of friends, and it comes fully equipped with all the necessary accommodations onboard, such as a kitchen, bathroom and cabins.
For a more traditional sailing experience, we’d recommend a sailboat rental however, you should always choose one with a skipper since these boats can be tricky to navigate. The best boat type depends on your group size and preferences.
