Imagine: You can dine on whatever you desire, served by your private chef; whisk down a slide off a grand yacht into a warm sea; picnic on a private beach served by a doting staff; party hard in a hot tub on a deck under the stars — just like lucky guests on Below Deck, the binge-worthy TV show on Bravo and Peacock.

The series chronicles the lives of crew members who live and work aboard luxury super yachts during the charter season, serving (over-serving?) privileged new guests each episode.

I’m a super fan, and have dreamed of what it must be like to live huge on the water. Now Tropicalboat Luxury Yacht Charters & Rentals has revealed how much it would cost to either charter or buy any of the yachts featured on Below Deck , including this newest season.

“ Below Deck has brought much attention to the yachting industry over the years, highlighting the luxury lifestyles and holidays that those who charter yachts enjoy,” said Kate Kalamaga, owner of Tropicalboat.

“A truly luxurious yacht holiday is made possible at the earliest stages of curation by charter brokers, with every detail down to the number of guests per cabin on board, the number of guests-to-crew ratios and of, course, the recreational features and interiors making the difference.”

It’s just been announced that season 11 of Below Deck is due to set sail on February 5, 2024, and St David is the yacht of choice again — the biggest, most luxurious and most expensive ever on Below Deck. S eason 10’s and now 11’s St David costs $325,000 to charter for a week, excluding expenses (or $23,646,000 to purchase!).

Guests usually tip the crew anywhere between 10 to 15 percent of the charter rate. So, expect to add a maximum cost of $48,750 to the weekly charter rate of St David.

The running costs of a yacht will add to your initial investment with operating costs estimated to be 20 percent or more of the initial value. St David would incur its owner a cost of at least $4,729,000 annually to run.

This luxury super yacht is 196 feet hosting 12 guests in its six guest cabins, who can expect to enjoy first-class service from a total of 14 crew members. It features include an indoor jacuzzi, a luxury spa, an outdoor deck jacuzzi, a gym and a dance floor, alongside a Rolls Royce Limo Tender for shore trips and a multitude of recreational water toys and activities. Guests can go fishing and scuba diving or take to the waters skiing, wakeboarding, or riding jet skis.

Coming in as the second most expensive superyacht on Below Deck is My Seanna, now Starship, featured on the show’s sixth, eighth and ninth seasons.

This 185-foot luxury yacht boasts 22-carat gold brushed fittings. A finalist in The World Superyacht Awards 2012, it features two jacuzzies, a beach club, a helipad, a movie theatre and a sundeck sauna and gym. Accents of real gold and royal blue are set throughout the yacht’s interior.

The yacht hosts 12 guests in six cabins, with 11 crew members to tend to their every need. For a week on Starship, it would cost $275,000, excluding expenses, or $22,900,000 to purchase. Expect to pay approximately £41,250 in crew tips or incur around $4,580,000 in annual running costs as the owner.

The least expensive yacht to charter (a relative bargain!) is season five’s Valor, now BG, costing $146,500 per week. BG hosts 12 guests in its six cabins with a dedicated crew of 10 members. Fans will remember how season 10’s shocking discovery of concealed unregistered drugs on board resulted in the immediate dismissal of a crew member.

BG will set you back $16,000,000 to buy and is the second smallest yacht to feature on the show, measuring 153.87 feet.

Interestingly, Ohana (real name Star Diamond) is the least expensive yacht to buy, but not the smallest nor cheapest to charter, costing $160,000 per week. The yacht sleeps 10 guests in 5 staterooms, and has a crew of eight, which might explain the higher charter rate, despite its lower sale price.

The 46.94m/154' motor yacht 'Star Diamond' (ex. Roxana) was built by Admiral Marine Works at their Port Angeles shipyard. Her interior is styled by design house Donald Starkey and she was completed in 1998. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Donald Starkey and she was last refitted in 2022.

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3512 DITA) 1,650hp engines running at 1600rpm, she comfortably cruises at 17 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 18 knots with a range of up to 3,600 nautical miles from her 47,763 litre fuel tanks at 12 knots. An advanced stabilisation system on board promises exceptional comfort levels at anchor or on any voyage. Her water tanks store around 1,850 Gallons of fresh water. She was built to RINA (Registro Italiano Navale) classification society rules.

Chef Nikolaj’s menus focus on featuring local items in a creative and sophisticated way. This means fresh-farmed eggs, hand picked microgreens, and island-farmed vegetables when available. Local hot sauces, inspired infused flavors and supporting local every chance we get.

Breads and baked goods are all made in the galley or sourced from local bakeries. He uses organic and high quality ingredients. Ohana supports keeping sustainability a priority when selecting meats and fish for our guests.

Dietary requirements and preferences can be met with advance notice. We are happy to accommodate everyone from picky eaters to those on medical diets. Most menu options can be served in a gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian or pescetarian modification easily. Certain diets require high-cost provisioning and may be subject to an additional cost.

Menus and planned meals are subject to change at any time due to remote provisioning restrictions, guest requests, sailing plans or at the chef’s discretion.

For celebrations requiring special items, themed decoration or large dessert requests, the guests may be asked to take Happy Hour on shore to give the crew time to set up, set the mood, and aim for a beautiful surprise. Please give advance notice for celebration cakes.

This option allows guests to start their morning with fresh squeezed juices, infused water, and coffee. Guests can then enjoy a guided 60 or 90 minute yoga flow, a short meditation focusing on the movement of water and breathwork, then a nutritious smoothie for breakfast and a ginger-tumeric immunity booster!

This option is great for those who feel three meals, including a three-course dinner and snacks, a day is too much or who would like to be mindful about their health while on vacation. OM and YUM in paradise!

The Below Deck Luxury Yacht is Available to Charter (Video)

On the Below Deck reality TV series, TV viewers can get brief glances at the interior of the Ohana, but if you are really curious about how the Ohana looks, be sure to watch the video tour of the luxury yacht below. Those of you who like what you see might be interested in chartering the Ohana for your own sea adventure. The Ohana is available for charter, but the name of the ship has changed. The Below Deck luxury yacht charter is now called the Rhino.

According to Yacht Charter Fleet , the Rhino, formerly the Ohana, can accommodate up to 10 guests. Inside, there’s a master suite, two double cabins and two twin cabins. The yacht is air conditioned and has Wi Fi. The Jacuzzi on the deck of the ship is a familiar sight on Below Deck. Other amenities include a waterslide, wave runners, a trampoline, snorkeling gear and more. The yacht can be chartered for either the summer or the winter season. Yacht Charter Fleet has the luxury yacht charter price listed as $140,000 per week in addition to any other expenses for both seasons.

In Below Deck, the yacht is in service in the British Virgin Islands. The Rhino actually services New England, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, and St. Barts in addition to the Virgin Islands. The information to charter the yacht is on the Yacht Charter Fleet site.

There had been some rumblings on the net about another crew that had been hired to do the actual work on the Ohana during the show. It is evident, however, from the cast bios on VH1 that most of the crew members do have some boating experience.

That’s in spite of the fact that Below Deck cast member Andrew Sturby left one of the portholes open in his room, and sea water was on the floor in one of the first few episodes of the show. Andrew is actually a former Abercrombie and Fitch model; no other deckhand experience was listed in his VH1 bio. Jennice Ontiveros, however, was a deckhand for at least one summer in 2013 in Michigan, and Deckhand Kelley Johnson is a former Marine who worked on a yacht before entering the corporate world. On the show, the crew earns dollars in tips. The amount varies, based on the generosity of the guests on the ship.

In real life, the Ohana, now the Rhino can accommodate a crew of 10 people. So, even though the Below Deck cast is not on the Rhino at this time, anyone who plans to charter the yacht should figure in the cost for the charter and a lot of extra cash for the tip if great service and pampering is received onboard. The Rhino appears to be a beautiful yacht!

Her bold exterior boasts a custom color hull while the contemporary decor finds softness in the warm, light woods and coastal blues of her inviting interior. All five king beds are all floor-level berths with full-walk around access. Each cabin boasts a mirror-covered wall to allow for maximum light during the day and lend an airy vibe to the comfortable cabins. Ohana 80, is a luxury sailing yacht ideal for exclusive getaways, intimate charters, and island adventures. Ohana accommodates up to ten guests in five deluxe, king-size ensuite cabins. The king beds are all floor-level berths with full-walk-around access. Airy, luxurious guest cabins each have a mirror-covered wall to allow for maximum light during the day, roomy closets and storage spaces, temperature control, a retractable flatscreen TV, and an immense bathroom. All heads are ensuite featuring spa-like, waterfall shower heads and full-size commodes. A perfect setting to unwind and relax after a long day in the sun.

With three fully-equipped wet bars, a central open-concept galley, and seamless flow between the yacht’s interior and exterior spaces, Ohana creates a perfect platform to host guests comfortably. A vast, central lounging space with panoramic views opens both onto the bow terrace and cockpit. The bow benefits from a cozy lounge, well shielded from sun and wind. To the aft, the saloon merges with the spacious cockpit offering a lovely al fresco dining area. The cockpit overlooks an extra-large hydraulic platform that can act as a swim-up island once the jet tender is splashed. From the aft bathing platform, you can launch water toys, try scuba diving for the first time, or sun tan all at sea level. All the areas combined form a universal, open environment where flexibility and freedom reign.

Unique to Ohana, a day-head is located in the aft cockpit to allow for maximum comfort during the day. The day head is complete with a wash basin and changing table for our younger guests. In addition, there are two waterfall shower heads by each aft sugar scoop for fresh water rinses throughout the sunny, salty days. Underwater lights line the waterline for added ambiance in the evening.

High bulwarks and a large beam lend to the superstructure design allowing for a generous flybridge and bimini that extends its full length. Along with dual helms, the flybridge is dedicated to leisure, with comfortable seating, plush sun pads, and a large jacuzzi. There are options to dine alfresco while enjoying movie night with the family or catch a game on the large, retractable flatscreen TV while simultaneously enjoying a 360 view of the Caribbean.

Ohana is a Hawaiian term meaning family. It often refers to one’s extended support system, including nuclear family, extended family, close friends, colleagues, and community groups. The word is imbued with loyalty, compassion, support, and love. In native Hawaiian culture, it is a great honor to be a part of an ohana; it means that you’ll never be forgotten or left behind. The root word ʻohā refers to the shoot of the taro plant, a Hawaiian staple. Ana is a word that conveys regeneration. Just as the taro plant produces offshoots, a person’s family is multigenerational and grows in different directions to include all of the people they love.

The yacht owners chose the name Ohana to represent their strong-family ties and generous spirit. When you stay aboard Ohana, you can indulge in luxury and regalement, but leave knowing you are a part of something much grander.

Ohana is BVI-based, and BVI Taxes, Permits, and Licenses are paid by Ohana.

Scuba Diving: During a seven-day charter onboard Ohana, certified divers can dive up to five times, one dive per full charter day, with the guidance of a scuba instructor. Additional dives can be added based on the itinerary and Captain Tyler’s discretion. The cost of scuba diving is $100 per dive/diver.

Meet Your Crew

Tyler Boruff

Captain Tyler is always on the move and ready for an adventure, he is a man of many hobbies and easily relates to others. He grew up fishing, boating, wakeboarding, and water-skiing.

When he was ten he sailed for the first time and he quickly became hooked. In college, he worked as a windsurfing and scuba instructor. His passion for being on the water followed him to the East Coast where he owned his own fishing boats and served as a first mate/instructor on several dive boats. Tyler has always been an outdoorsman whether it’s hunting or backpacking in the mountains of North Carolina, where he calls home, cave diving in North Florida, or free diving in the Keys. He satisfies his land-based tendencies by hiking around the islands and finding the best jumping spots to plunge into the ocean. On the water, he enjoys throwing out a line or diving for lobsters in the USVI, and in the BVI he enjoys kiteboarding. In the water, he is an avid free diver and exceptional at fish identification.

Chef (Rotational)

Erika boruff.

Chef Erika has a love for entertaining which she demonstrates by pouring custom cocktails and whipping up creative eats. When Tyler and Erika decided to get into chartering, she went back to school to earn her professional chef certification through Roubex Cooking School.

She is also a certified Food Safety Manager by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals and a licensed bartender. Showing her desire to continue learning, Erika also completed the Advanced Cookery Week, at the award-winning Ashburton Cookery School, in England. Erika has returned to Ashburton, where she is currently working towards earning her Diploma in Culinary Arts, a prestigious and intensive educational process.

Erika worked in event planning for three years and coordinated trips for groups as large as 40. She has helped plan pig picking, oyster roasts, and even a couple of weddings. She became the ultimate trip host – making sure her guests were not only organized but also entertained and well-fed. Her background in logistics and experience in food prep helps her when it comes to planning meals for guests during their stay. She is comfortable working around dietary restrictions and flexible to meet your needs.

Nikolaj Jelsbech

Nikolaj is a dedicated chef, hailing from Denmark, where a love for food was instilled early in his family. With a passion for culinary adventures, he's traveled the world in search of exceptional flavors and ingredients. What truly sets Chef Nikolaj apart is his devotion to honesty in food.

Rather than disguising ingredients, he lets the flavors speak for themselves. Each dish is a tribute to the natural beauty of unadulterated ingredients, where simplicity and authenticity reign supreme.

In a fascinating twist, Chef Nikolaj sought wisdom and balance by training with Shaolin monks in China. From this unique experience, he's blended the discipline of the mind and body with his culinary artistry, creating a harmonious fusion of flavors and philosophies. Each dish he creates is a testament to his worldly adventures and the wisdom he's gained along the way.

Cory's passion for water sports started at a young age while growing up on the Chesapeake Bay a few miles from Annapolis, Maryland - the US sailing capital. He has over 20 years of experience skippering, racing, teaching and captaining sailboats and is excited to show anyone the ins and out of the sport.

He has been cruising the Caribbean since the early 2000's aboard large sailing catamarans and can share his extensive knowledge of the islands, restaurants and culture with you. Cory was the captain on a Sunreef 60 the past four seasons and is excited to learn the ins and outs of Ohana as a mate before rotating as the captain next season.

As a certified yoga instructor, she has taught many practices on the beach, stand up paddle boards and sailboats. Emily has more than 20 years experience in the service industry. She has spent the past five years creating exquisite meals on large catamarans in the Bahamas and the Virgin Islands. As your stew, she will provide wine and cocktails paired to every occasion while making your experience a fun, safe environment.

If you're interested in adding yoga into your sailing vacation, Emily will be happy to offer three complementary yoga sessions on the boat, beach or stand up paddleboards.
