Flybridge (Open):

Viking’s Open Bridge layout allows excellent visibility for captain and guests. The center helm console with high-gloss teak helm pod is arranged like a ship’s command center with large glass multi-function displays and all navigation and communication electronics, bow thruster joystick and other controls within easy reach. Helm is air-conditioned for comfort and seats captain and two companions in upgraded Release Marine Trillium Ultraleather chairs with Bentley diamond pattern stitching. Two electric teaser reels along with a fish-finder screen reside in an aft hardtop compartment, allowing the captain to keep an eye on teaser reel activity, while facing aft. Hardtop was upgraded to strong, lightweight carbon fiber with an EZ2CY 3-sided enclosure to offer weather protection. In addition to the starboard and portside bench seats, Viking added a huge Ultraleather lounge with a freezer compartment underneath forward of the console. Built-in storage, sink, wash-down hose, and refrigerated compartments are conveniently located in seating and corners.

The Northern Marine 64 Raised Pilothouse has almost full customization options and is built to superyacht standards of quality. Every system on board the 64 is carefully selected and engineered for trouble-free operation for the duration of your ownership experience. All components are sourced from major suppliers so maintenance is reliable and easy even at remote cruising destinations.

As one of the earliest adopters of resin-infused composite construction, the Northern Marine hull is acclaimed for its strength, durability, and integrity. A large covered deck placed aft extends forward past a curved settée and a service bar to broad side-decks surrounding the spacious salon. A separate dining area is near the salon and is served by a commercial-grade galley.

The large pilothouse features a lower helm station, observation settée, and a navigation station, as well as access to the VIP stateroom and guest accommodations that are forward on the lower deck. A private staircase leads to the beautiful owner's stateroom midship. On the boat deck, a centerline-mounted davit allows mounting one or two tenders.

If you're looking for a raised pilothouse expedition-style yacht, the Northern Marine 64 offers stability, comfort, and a smooth, quiet ride with single engine power. What To Expect - Exterior & Hull

As you can see from the profile renderings of the 64C, it features the sleek Viking lines that are unmistakable when seen among hundreds of other boats at offshore fishing tournaments. The sheer flows elegantly from the tip of the bow to the stern and the black-masked windshield perfectly matches the deckhouse.

As with all Vikings, over 90% of the 64C will be constructed in-house, giving the Viking team lots of design flexibility and excellent quality control. Viking's computer-operated five-axis profiling milling machine combined with the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software, help to achieve a running surface in the hull that provides greater performance, planing, handling, and efficiency. Only using the very best materials, the 64 Convertible's hull, is an engineered composite of fiberglass and coring that is resin-infused while inside of a vacuum-bag. The result is an incredibly strong hull, but also improved speed due to being lighter than a full fiberglass hull. Viking has also started using carbon fiber in their hull which is a new development in the production of their sportfishing boats.

What Will Anglers Love About The 64C?

The Viking team doesn't just build sportfishing yachts, they fish them competitively in tournaments all over the world. Between owner feedback and the thousands of hours spent fishing on board, Viking has perfected the cockpit space for serious offshore fishermen. The 64 Convertible will feature a 180-square foot cockpit that focuses on freedom of movement and usable spaces so that everyone is focused on the fish during an intense fight, and not getting in each other's way. The standard equipment found in the cockpit is exactly what you would expect when buying the best:

• Flush-mounted rod holders
• Big transom fish-box with live-well
• Convenient side lockers for your gaffs and tag sticks
• In-deck, insulated fish boxes and stowage boxes port and starboard
• Fresh/Raw Water wash down systems
• Rounded coamings with rope lighting underneath
• Aluminum and laminated backing plate for a fighting chair or rocket launcher

Additionally, the 64 Convertible has a dedicated space for a Seakeeper 26 under a center-line lazarette hatch that has optional power actuation. You can also ask for the optional in-deck live-well if the transom live-well isn't sufficient for your bait storing needs. 

A Viking wouldn't be a Viking without the signature mezzanine seating area. Your guests can enjoy the action from the observation mezzanine. This comfortable seating area offers air-conditioning, shade from the flybridge over-hang, and plush seating. There is also a freezer/Coolbox starboard side under the seating area, as well as an area for cooler or tackle storage portside.

What Will Captains Love About The 64C?

Aside from the speed, performance, and handling of the 64 Convertible, captains will enjoy the flybridge for its visibility and convenience. The electronics displays are all-glass and flush-mounted into the fiberglass module that is crafted to provide ergonomic control. Other features on the flybridge include:

• Walk-Around center-console helm
• 360-degree visibility
• Bocatech Switching
• Recessed Radio Boxs with split lids
• Custom helm pod with single-lever controls
• Stainless-steel steering wheel
• Trim tab switches

So the captain will never be alone, the flybridge features additional seating with two additional helm pedastal chairs, as well as bench seating port and starboard. Additionally, the flybridge is equipped with intelligent storage solutions, a sink, and a refrigerated drink box.

What Accommodations Will The 64 Convertible Have?

Entering through the cockpit doors, the salon is noticeably well-lit, plenty of seating is available, and the there is an easy path from the doors through to the forepeak. The natural walnut woodwork through creates a pleasantly rich ambiance, with all carpentry done in-house at the Viking shipyard. As with its recent predecessors, the salon and galley feel open and spacious, giving your guests a comfortable area to relax when taking a break from fishing. Some of the features in the interior of the 64C include:

• An easily accessible electrical distribution panel portside
• L-shaped lounge placed starboard with ultra-leather
• 50-inch flatscreen television hidden in a dedicated cabinet
• Fully-equipped galley that includes under-counter Sub-Zero refrigeration and Freezer, four-burner cooktop, microwave/convection oven and stone countertops
• Amtico Flooring
• A convenient bar with two bar stools
• A dinette portside with room for four adults
• Additional storage is found underneath the dinette

The Viking 64C will offer owners a four stateroom layout with three heads, however, there is a choice in having either a forward VIP suite with a queen berth or a forward cabin with cross-over bunks.

The master suite features a queen-sized walk-around berth with storage underneath and the comfort of custom inner-spring mattresses. Both the master and VIP suite have private access to their own bathrooms, maple-lined hanging lockers, and more storage. Every comfort from home you and your guests need to enjoy your cruise or fishing trip is available on the 64C. 

The portside cabins are dedicated to be either additional guest staterooms or for crew. Each room is wonderfully appointed with the same level of luxury and comfort as you would expect in a Viking with features like Amtico flooring, LED lighting, beautiful countertops, and satin-nickel bathroom fixtures. Whether just staying overnight or going on multiple week excursions, the Viking 64C will leave you feeling rejuvenated every morning you awaken on board.

What Kind Of Power Will The 64 Convertible Have?

The standard power package on the 64C features MAN V-12 1550MHP diesel engines, however most owners choose to go bigger. The first 64C to be launched will feature twin MTU Series 12V 2000 M96X 2,002MHP engines and are the highest horsepower engines offered. Other power options include Caterpillar (C-32A 1925mhp or C-32B 2,025mhp) or larger MAN engines of 1,900mhp or 2,000mhp

Viking also made a tremendous effort to create a spacious engine room and all electrical systems to be easily accessible. All conventional switches are clearly labeled and all of the dedicated pumps for air conditioning, live-wells, and other components are easily serviced. Other equipment on the 64C includes:

• 21.5kW Onan QD Generator (Electronic Quiet Diesel)
• Optional second Onan generator
• DC LED interior lighting throughout
• 2 independent 24V battery banks mounted in fiberglass storage boxes
• 2 battery chargers with thermal cut-off and switching system

Offering exceptional sea keeping and vast range, the FPB 64 fleet is well proven and is the perfect tool for a couple with guests to cruise far aboard. 11 x FPB 64s are on the water and they continue to put significant sea miles beneath their keels, including a voyage from New Zealand to the Channel Islands against prevailing winds and currents – undertaken by #5. They provide a safe and reliable platform for their owners and guests, with a range of over 5,000 nautical miles, a single John Deere, and a Yanmar get me home on a separate drive train.

The FPB 64 also had an extended swim platform to enhance surfing performance. Earlier yachts had these retrofitted. As with all FPBs – they have the ability to recover from capsize and an accessible engine room that is easy to work in. The FPB 64 fleet has a significant number of nautical miles beneath its collective keel.

The second class of FPB to launch, the FPB 64 was developed as a result of Steve and Linda Dashew’s experience with FPB 83 WINDHORSE. Learning from their time long distance cruising aboard the yacht, the two of them steamed over 60,000 nautical miles with her. They designed the FPB 64 at that time, considering her to be the perfect fit for a couple like them. In common with other FPBs their Naiad stabilisers are housed in coffer dams and are oversized providing a faultless ride and they are also robust enough to allow the yacht to dry out.

Forward there is a large owners’ stateroom with separate bath/shower cubicle and a great room with 360 degree vision, which houses the large and well equipped galley, seating and dining area and inside helm. Beneath the great room is the basement which is a vast storage area.

Aft is a double cabin for guests, heads compartment, office area and single berth cabin with access into the engine room.

The matrix deck is a simple helm area above the coachroof with comfortable seating and great vision. Her booms easily deploy the dinghy on the aft deck and can also be used with flopper stoppers when at anchor.

The FPB 64 has a large bowthruster and is easy to handle in close quarters and, like her sisters, surfs easily in the correct conditions.

Residual values on FPB 64s have been constant and as owners complete their cruising projects and want to do other things, they do come to the brokerage market. They always sell well.
