We keep coming back! We have lived on the island for a number of years and only discovered Oasis Catamaran last year. We have been on the tour numerous times with groups of friends or families. It really is a perfect way to spend a relaxing day out on the water, away from the crowds. In these uncertain times of stress and fear, it is also one of the best options for disconnecting from the Covid crisis and re-connecting with the beauty and tranquility the Bay of Palma affords us. Personally, I feel the boat is large enough for the limited number of passengers to find their own corner for their group and the two swim stops allow everyone time to cool off and enjoy the marine life. Be sure to bring your snorkel to really appreciate the underwater world off the boat. The staff (Pedro, Kevin, and Pavel) were all top professionals ensuring a smooth and safe journey.

LUXURY, FAR AWAY FROM THE NOISY CROWDED BOATS Dear fellow tourist: I only found this Island 6 years ago. I Have coming here ever since in the summer. Unfortunately I only discovered "OASIS CATAMARAN" 2 years ago. Once again to celebrate mine and my daugther birthday we went the entire family in this dream boat. What is fascinating and unbelievable is the refined atmosphere and the TOP QUALITY crew: From the skipper to the other 2 officials they are really unbeatable. SIMPATHY, CLASS and being PROFESSIONAL. At the same time when we were arriving at the harbour there were also arriving two huge catamarans more crowded than a Disney amusement park; it is exactly in this point that we felt again having made the best decison ever. The boat OASIS takes only a fraction of the official capacity and that is why we felt like being treated like queens and kings. UNBEATABLE and TOP happiness and refined atmosphere and once again better than a day in paradise, that is how me and my family felt at the end of the happiest day of our holidays this year.

What an awesome day If you're looking for the ultimate catamaran experience then look no further, compared to the others this one is the best by far. The crew were super friendly and could t do enough for you, the food is excellent and the boat itself is very clean and safe. Stopping in the first bay you're offered food and a drink plus the chance to swim,snorkel and paddle board for approx 45 mins. Then it's a short trip to the second bay where the on board BBQ is lit and you'll have a fantastic lunch. On the way back to palma the sails were put up and the engine switched off, just the noise of the wind and the waves. Back at the exact time stated, car parking is available at the boat house bar its €1.50 an hour.

Excellent - Recommended! Took the afternoon sunset trip and was not disappointed. Lovely catamaran, not overcrowded with people. Staff were great, food was excellent. Chilled music playing throughout made for a nice vibe. 2 stops for swimming and food and a stop to watch the sun setting over the mountains which was beautiful. A perfect way to while away a few hours on the sea.

Amazing! A must when visiting Palma This was easily the highlight of our time in Palma. We were at sea for about 6 hours with enough time to swim in the water. We were also fortunate enough to view the sunset on the way home, which was a lovely surprise. The food was fantastic and included burgers, salad, and chicken. The boat also had a full bar with huge and reasonably priced drinks. Dimitri, who was behind the bar, was awesome and made the trip even better! All of the crew on board were very professional and super friendly. I would highly recommend this excursion to anyone visiting Palma. It was a great way to experience the ocean and take in Mallorca's beauty!

What kind of clothing and footwear is recommended for an excursion?

• Swimsuits, bath towels and several t-shirts. Sun protection cream, Hat and sunglasses.
• If you are prone to seasickness, it is recommended to take motion sickness medication (biodramina) 20 minutes before sailing.

What is a catamaran.

A catamaran is a ship with two hulls that are connected to a carrying deck. A distinction is made between motor catamarans (motor boat) and sailing catamarans (sailing ship). Because the catamarans do not have a keel like other single-hull ships, they are much lighter and therefore much faster. Because of the two hulls a catamaran is also a little wider than a normal single-hull ship. A catamaran is also much more stable in the water. This is due to the almost perfect balance of the two hulls.

Motor catamarans are often used on ferry trips. Smaller motor catamarans with up to 200 seats can reach a speed of about 80 km/h. This allows you to reach the surrounding islands such as Menorca or Ibiza very quickly.

Sailing catamarans are primarily light, fast and sporty sailing ships or cruising yachts. They are mainly driven by the wind that blows into the sails. The advantage of a sailing catamaran compared to a normal single-hull sailing boat is the wider surface.

A sailing catamaran from ten meters length on has much more space than a single-hull boat. The cabins are located at the bottom of the hulls. In addition, the sailing catamarans hardly heel, because they are more stable due to the two-hull system.

How safe is catamaran sailing in Mallorca?

Sailing a catamaran is not really connected with risks. The only problem you might have is capsizing in a narrow harbour. This can happen with larger ships from about 7 meters. To raise the boat upright you need external help with a crane. If you don't have a sailing license for catamaran sailing, then you have to rent a boat with a skipper. The skipper knows his boat inside and out and will not let his boat capsize. Be reassured, because sailing with a catamaran is less risky than normal sailing.

Where can I rent a catamaran in Mallorca?

In general, you can rent a catamaran in any medium or large harbour in Majorca. If you have a sailing licence for catamarans, then you can rent a sailing catamaran exclusively. And if you do not have a sailing licence, there is still the possibility to rent a catamaran with skipper.

There is also the possibility to make guided island tours on a large motor catamaran or a sailing catamaran. Some of these catamarans have a panoramic window below the water surface so that you can see the underwater world of Majorca while sailing. A special hit for small children.

Where can I sail a catamaran on Mallorca?

In Mallorca you can go catamaraning almost anywhere. Sail to hidden bays and sandy beaches that you would never reach from land. How about a day trip to Minorca, for example?

1. How do I get to Arenal? You can arrive by bus (click the link to see how to get there from Palma Center). You can also drive, but keep in mind the traffic and finding parking in the area. We recommend to park around Son Veri Nou area. 2. How do I get to the boarding area? Access is through the Arenal beach, right at the end of the beach, next to Club Nautico, look for our boarding office by the gates walking towards the sea. 3. Where can I leave my belongings when I enter the activity? We have lockers divided by activity in a private area of the port, our team will instruct you. 4. Is it necessary to know how to swim? Yes, for activities such as (aqua rocket, banana, jet ski and parasailing) it is mandatory to know how to swim or have notions. 5. I don’t know how to swim, what activity can I do? If you like speed, we recommend the Speed Boat. But if you want something quieter, we invite you to our Boat Tour and Catamaran. 6. Do I have to go to the activities with a document or passport? Only if you are going to jet ski, since you must sign a contract before starting.

• Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled boarding time.
• The client will lose the right to any claim, return or reimbursement if they do not show up at the meeting point and at the time indicated on the day of the activity and when they voluntarily abandon the route once it has started.

• To access the water activities it is necessary to know how to swim.

• The routes and schedules of the activities may be affected for meteorological and/or technical reasons, or even be suspended, without the right to any compensation.

The next total solar eclipse is set to happen on Aug. 12, 2026, over Greenland, Iceland, Spain, Russia and a small part of Portugal, according to NASA . 

In North America, only a partial eclipse will be visible, so if April’s event made you an eclipse chaser and you want to see totality, you’ll need to head overseas.

Here’s what you’ll need to know before packing your bags:

Do you need a passport or visa for the best destination?

The path of totality for the 2026 eclipse mostly goes through places Americans can travel visa-free with their passport, so long as they’re planning to stay for less than 90 days.

Spain, Portugal, Iceland and Greenland all allow visa-free tourist travel for U.S. passport holders.

Spain, Portugal and Iceland are also members of the Schengen Area, which allows for visa-free travel in much of Europe, meaning if you decide to make a multi-country trip out of your eclipse adventure, you won’t need to clear customs if you’re coming from much of the rest of Europe, either.

One major change for travelers to Europe from the U.S., however, is that electronic preauthorization will become a requirement beginning in mid-2025. The European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) requirement will apply to all four open countries in the path of totality. 

Depending on the state of the Ukraine war, travel to Russia may or may not be an option for most Americans by 2026, so it’s unclear what the paperwork requirements will be by then.

Is it better to see it from the beach?

Beaches can be a great place to see the eclipse because there are few natural obstacles blocking observers’ views of the sky. The 2026 path of totality passes over beaches on Spain’s northern and southeastern coasts, as well as over islands in the Mediterranean Sea including Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza. The eclipse will also pass over coastal areas in Greenland and Iceland, according to the National Solar Observatory .

Will there be eclipse cruises or flights?

Almost certainly, although most operators have not announced specific plans yet. 

Cruise lines will also offer more viewing opportunities. Princess Cruises “has created a bespoke itinerary aboard Sky Princess to position the ship near Spain on that date,” according to a spokesperson for the line. The cruise will open for bookings on Princess’s website on May 23.

Cunard Line has sailings on its Queen Mary 2 , Queen Victoria and Queen Anne vessels that will put passengers in prime spots to watch .

Holland America Line is also planning multiple sailings around the event, though details are still to be announced. “Guests have reacted positively to our 2024 eclipse cruises and with the next full eclipse in 2026 we plan to have three sailings in Europe that will align with the path of the eclipse,” Paul Grigsby, the line's vice president of Deployment & Itinerary Planning, previously told USA TODAY in an email.
