Surely an interesting Sicilian archipelago is that of the Egadi, a few miles from the Trapani coast and including three main islands: Favignana, Levanzo and Marettimo, as well as a series of rocks, all beautiful, such as that of the Asinelli, Maraone and the islet of Formica where there are the remains of a trap and a lighthouse.

Levanzo by yacht

Levanzo is the smallest island of the archipelago. Its most beautiful coves, which deserve long baths and swims are those of the Dogana and Faraglione , as well as the Genovese cave with its prehistoric engravings. The island is not very extensive, but it should be remembered for the purity of its pristine places. Usually preferred for those who practice snorkeling and diving.

Marettimo in yacht

Our travel proposal starts from Marettimo. Known by many for the remains of the ancient Roman houses and for the great “Grotta del Cammello”. This cave owes its opening to the collapse of the ceiling and can only be visited by entering with the boat.

The Egadi islands for a dream catamaran holiday! The Egadi Islands charters provide brand new catamarans from the best shipyards in the world. The archipelago consists of three major islands, Favignana, Levanzo and Marettimo, plus a series of islets and stacks. Favignana is the largest, with a beautiful marina in a bay in the north. Due to its conformation, the island has rocky coasts but also small beaches with fine and sandy sand: Cala Azzurra, Lido Burrone and the Calamoni. The south coast is very indented, with the presence of caves, ravines, stacks. You can anchor the catamaran in beautiful coves, suitable for snorkeling: Punta Lunga (you can moor), Preveto, Faraglioni, Punta Sottile. Not to be missed is Cala Rossa, with the rocks set in the sea that change hue: the sunset here is truly spectacular. Favignana is an island traditionally dedicated to fishing; its now abandoned tuna trap is famous, but replaced by an interesting museum on slaughtering and processing, inside the former Florio factories. The urban center is a lively fishing village with a long history: ancient churches, picturesque squares and the old port. Levanzo is the smallest island, with no roads, and partly a protected area. You arrive at the characteristic port crowned by an amphitheater of white houses: the island has a geological conformation of white limestone rocks. You can get to the famous Faraglione and stop at Cala Fredda (with a pebble beach) and the wild Cala Minnola. West route to Marèttimo: the wildest and most unspoiled island of the three. La costa nord occidentale siciliana è un trionfo di luoghi incantevoli in cui l’uomo ha avuto l’accortezza di preservare l’ordine naturale, evento ormai più unico che raro. L’arcipelago delle Egadi infatti è area marina protetta e in estate vengono installati tantissimi gavitelli per tutelare la prateria di Posidonia più estesa del Mediterraneo, un vero e proprio polmone verde per il nostro mare. Agli amanti dell’avventura proponiamo anche dei giri in tender alla scoperta delle cavità dell’isola, la piscina naturale di Grotta Perciata e la Grotta del Bue Marino , che si addentra nella scogliera di tufo.

Il Porto di Favignana sarà un piacevole cambio di scenario dopo una giornata trascorsa all’insegna dei bagni. Il paese è piacevolmente animato nei mesi estivi, e in uno degli innumerevoli ristoranti potrete gustare i piatti forti locali, gli spaghetti alla bottarga e il tonno locale. A proposito, vi consigliamo vivamente una visita all’antica Tonnara Florio , che ancora caratterizza la baia di fronte al porto; è stata riconvertita a un interessantissimo museo, con informazioni sulla mattanza e dei reperti della “battaglia delle Egadi” che segnò l’inizio del dominio romano sui Cartaginesi.

Levanzo è un’isola magica, la cui atmosfera romantica e solitaria saprà conquistarvi a prima vista. Il paese è minuscolo, di appena 220 anime, e all’ombra delle sue casette bianche troverete riparo dalla modernità in cui siamo immersi ogni giorno. 

Dal centro abitato fuoriescono stradine di ghiaia che si snodano nella macchia mediterranea. Via mare o via terra visiteremo la Grotta del Genovese , dove sono ancora ben conservati molti graffiti rupestri: quelli più antichi risalenti a 12000 anni fa raffigurano classiche scene di caccia, mentre in quelli neolitici appare evidente il disegno di tonno, a dimostrazione di quanto la pesca sia sempre stata il cardine della vita delle isole Egadi. 

Le baie dove fare il bagno sono tante e tutte bellissime. C’è la Spiaggia del Faraglione di fronte all’isolotto deserto, Cala tramontana immersa in un ambiente incontaminato e Cala Minnola , il principale ridosso dell’isola protetto da una verde pineta.

Dopo una rilassante veleggiata in catamarano scorgeremo Marettimo, immediatamente riconoscibile dal profilo del Monte Falcone , un enorme ammasso di granito di 686 m di altezza. L’isola è immersa in uno scenario che evoca quasi uno scenario dolomitico e lungo i suoi saliscendi si snodano tanti sentieri, per cui gli amanti del trekking avranno pane per i loro denti.

L’unico paese si sviluppa nel promontorio tra i due porticcioli “ Scalo Vecchio ” e “ Scalo Nuovo ” ed è pieno di ristorantini e botteghe artigiane. Nella piazza principale concedetevi un abbondante colazione alla siciliana con la tradizionale granita al caffè o i cannoli farciti al momento.

Il giro dell’isola in catamarano vi farà scoprire letteralmente decine di anfratti come la Grotta del Cammello , in cui la scogliera ricorda l’omonimo animale, la Grotta della Bombarda in cui il riflusso delle onde crea dei suoni simili a delle esplosioni, e la Grotta della Presepe , dove le rocce assumono le forme della natività.

La spiaggia di Cala Conca a sud di Marettimo è solitaria e suggestiva, mentre nella costa settentrionale ancoreremo il catamarano a Cala Maestro ; da qui con un breve sentiero è possibile raggiungere il Castello di Punta Troia , ad oggi perfettamente ristrutturato e visitabile, da cui si gode un gran bel panorama sulle altre isole delle Egadi.

San Vito lo Capo

L’acqua azzurro acceso e la mezzaluna di sabbia bianchissima all’ombra del promontorio di Monte Monaco formano uno scenario dal sapore caraibico, non a caso tra i più amati della Sicilia. Trascorrerete la giornata tuffandovi dalla poppa del catamarano nel mare più bello del mondo, lontani dalla ressa sulla spiaggia. Anche il paese merita una visita, in particolare è bellissimo il Santuario di San Vito , originariamente una semplice cappella dedicata al martire attorno a cui si è sviluppata un vera e propria fortezza modellata con un pot-purri stili architettonici religiosi, civili e militari.

Ogni settembre viene organizzato il Cous Cous Fest , non una semplice sagra ma una vera e propria festa scandita da musica, spettacoli e gare, un evento davvero imperdibile per ogni amante del delizioso piatto che accomuna le due sponde del Mediterraneo.

Subito a sud del capo si apre un tratto di mare incontaminato, la parte costiera della Riserva dello Zingaro . L’acqua smeraldo, il verde intenso delle tipiche palme nane e il rosso della roccia ferrosa cattureranno il vostro sguardo in un vortice di colori. A chiudere il parco marino scopriremo l’antica tonnara di Scopello , una gemma dell’architettura tradizionale siciliana protetta dagli spettacolari faraglioni.

Just got back from this amazing trip: the catamaran experience was even better than we could imagine. The boat had all the confort and was very clean, the owner Ivano & his assistant Antonella were always available & very kind. We spent one week with top Italian skipper Fabio (Numero 1 al mondo!) who became our friend since he was always in a good mood, providing us with the best info, listening to our needs and playing great music! We hope to soon book again…

Luxury Gulet BUBU is the latest addition to charter fleets in Southern Italy.  Usually based just opposite Aeolian islands on the mainland of Sicily in a relativley new marina of Capo d’Orland, she can accept one way charters to Amalfi coast as well as to Egadi archipelago.

Her crew of 3 are experienced yachtsmen and are keen to offer you an Italian experience on board of their 2018 refited gullet.  MV BUBU has a total of 7 cabins, 3 of which are doubles, allowing larger groups and extended families to sail together.  An informal cruise with Italian chef and very knowledgable captain would allow you to relax and unwind around Sicily and explore the best of waht this island has to offer.  The seclusion of Aeolian and also Egadi will mesmerise you and attentive and friendly service enchant you.

MV BUBU  charters 12,500 Eur in low season and 15,000 Eur in high season.  Local VAT is included for the Summer 2020 season.  APA expenses are set at a minimum of 25% but can be lower or higher depending on the duration of the charter, number of guests on board, planned itinerary or extra provisions required.  The obligatory extras for half board (250 Eur for breakfast and lunch) or full board (350 Eur for half board plus dinner) as well as optional drinks packages have to be paid in advance 1 month before the charter.

Notevole esperienza condotta a bordo di un Lagoon 42 nuovissimo ed equipaggiato di tutto punto. Comfort e finiture degne di un cinque stelle ci hanno consentito di trascorrere una piacevolissima settimana per mare in giro tra le Eolie lontani dalla pazza folla ferragostana!

Lo staff dimostra una professionalità e una cortesia che trasmettono tranquillità per la vacanza. Le imbarcazioni sono molto curate, e anche se possono verificarsi alcuni imprevisti, il personale si adopera senza indugi.

Per due estati differenti ho avuto la fortuna di navigare a bordo di una delle loro barche a vela e lasciarmi incantare dalla bellezza delle Isole Eolie, insieme ai miei amici. Il personale a terra e lo skipper hanno pensato a tutto e la nostra barca non ha mai dato problemi.

Viaggiare con Spartivento in barca a vela alle isole Eolie, dall’arrivo in base a Portorosa fino al rientro, è stato perfetto. Organizzazione al top, barca impeccabile, tutto come da contratto. Consigliatissimo.

Vacanza alle isole Eolie indimenticabile, sia per la bellezza del posto che per l’ottimo servizio offerto da Spartivento! Catamarano di ultima generazione, tutto perfetto e soprattutto pulitissimo, non scontato per un charter in alta stagione.

Le Formule per la Stagione Estiva 2024, sono sia con Imbarco singolo, che imbarco alla Cabina ( minimo due persone) ma anche date di Flottiglia e degli Speciali Yoga e Vela, Cous Cous Fest sempre in Catamarano.

• Domenica: San Vito Lo Capo

• Mercoledì: Punta Troja - Levanzo
• Giovedì: Levanzo - San Vito Lo Capo
• Venerdì - San Vito/Isola delle Femmine
• Sabato: Palermo

Incontro con L’equipaggio alle ore 15.30 a Palermo per briefing sul programma della settimana e sulla strumentazione di bordo, poi tutti a far cambusa ed appena pronta imbarcazione verso le 5pm sistemazione a bordo e nelle cabine. Se si è pronti entro le ore 18:30 e le condizioni meteo lo permettono si salpa (circa 1/2h di navigazione) verso  Mondello   – Terrasini  oppure  Isola delle Femmine  per trascorrere cena e la notte in rada sotto le stelle.

Colazione a bordo e rotta verso  San Vito Lo Capo  ( circa 5 ore di navigazione), navigazione lungo costa per la  Riserva dello Zingaro  fino a San Vito Lo Capo porto di pescatori diventato amena località turistica con la sua caratteristica lunga spiaggia di sabbia. Scenderete a terra con il tender per un aperitivo, cena oppure anche solo passeggiata nel paesino. Pernottamento in rada nella baia di   San Vito Lo Capo .

Navigazione verso  Favignana , la maggiore delle isole, dalla caratteristica forma a farfalla. Il nome deriva dalla pietra di costruzione, denominata appunto Favignana, che si estrae dalle cave di tufo. Arrivati vi fermerete per un tuffo e relax a  Cala Rossa  , insenatura simbolo dell’isola, che offre sia rocce che sabbia incastonate in un mare che abbraccia le sfumature che vanno dal blu al celeste. Per la serata si entrerà in porto dove ormeggiati si potrà scendere comodamente nel paesino principale dell’isola.

Colazione e per chi vuole visita alla Tonnara Florio, L’ex stabilimento Florio delle Tonnare di Favignana e Formica è un’antica tonnara, tra le più grandi del Mediterraneo. È qui che Ignazio Florio, alla fine dell’Ottocento, inventò il rivoluzionario metodo di conservazione del tonno, facendo costruire l’annesso stabilimento. Si circumnaviga Favignana con sosta a Cala Pozzo oppure a Cala Rotonda. Navigazione verso Marettimo ed arrivo nel tardo pomeriggio a la più lontana delle Egadi,   Marettimo . Grazie alla sua lontananza, alla natura impervia della montagna e allo scarso impatto dell’uomo sull’ambiente, essa conserva un patrimonio vegetativo e faunistico molto prezioso, dove sono riuscite a vivere specie rare ed  uniche del Mediterraneo. Scenderemo con il tender per visitare il paesino e se volete cenare nei suoi rinomati ristoranti e gustare la pasta con l’aragosta delle Egadi. Pernottamento in rada nella Baia del Porticciolo di Marettimo.

Marettimo , selvaggia isola dominata da Monte Falcone è ricca di bellissime Grotte naturali, famosa per l’escursioni lungo i sentieri che portano ai ruderi delle case romane e riserva marina. Si salpa per  Punta Troia  per vedere il promontorio e il Castello di Punta Troia, recentemente restaurato. e fare qualche sosta bagno, qui relax e pranzo, (per chi vuole può arrivare dal sentiero da terra dal paese per punta troia, circa due ore). Facoltativa ma consigliata l’escursione di mezza giornata alle grotte di Marettimo, che si organizza la sera prima su vostra richiesta e si fa con i barchini locali. Nel tardo pomeriggio, navigazione verso la piccola Levanzo.  Levanzo  (in siciliano Lèvanzu) è costituita da rocce calcaree bianche che presentano numerose grotte. Il nome greco dell’isola era Phorbantia, probabilmente a causa dell’abbondante quantità di erba nell’isola. Il paese è composto da uno sparuto gruppo di case munite di un piccolo porticciolo, che dista circa 15 km da Trapani. È priva di strade rotabili, a parte un piccolo tratto di strada asfaltata che conduce alla spiaggia del Faraglione. Tale condizione di arretratezza tecnologica spiega  l’integrità della sua bellezza paesaggistica. Daremo ancora di fronte al paese oppure a Cala Tramontana e scenderemo con il Tender per esplorare la più piccola delle Egadi.

Sveglia a  Levanzo  e, dopo un bagno alla Grotta del Genovese e un tuffo a Cala Fredda, nel tardo pomeriggio vi salpa verso  San Vito lo Capo , dove si trascorrerà la notte in porto oppure all’ancora oppure nel porto a seconda delle condizioni meteo. La cittadina di San Vito Lo capo vi aspetterà una passeggiata rifocillante di vita siciliana. Il cuore del paese è Piazza Santuario su cui si affaccia il santuario-fortezza dedicato a San Vito martire, patrono del paese. Da qui, via Savoia, giunge rapidamente fino al mare, irresistibile attrazione per tutti. Via Savoia, frequentatissima soprattutto la sera, è meta dello shopping e di rilassanti passeggiate, mentre nei locali sulla spiaggia i giovani si incontrano al tramonto per frizzanti Happy Hour. Musicisti, artisti di strada, bancarelle piene di originali manufatti arricchiscono le lunghe serate estive.

Si salpa verso  Punta Raisi  e poi sosta per sosta pranzo, bagno e relax all ‘Isola delle Femmine , che è un piccolo e grazioso comune che sorge poco distante da Palermo e dal suo bellissimo lungomare. Lo stesso nome lo prende anche un piccolo isolotto che si affaccia proprio li dinnanzi. Dopo pranzo con calma salperemo verso Palermo. Arrivo a Palermo entro e non oltre  e 18, serata libera tra aperitivi tipici, degustazioni e ottimi vini siciliani e poi pernottamento in barca.
