It is a common misconception that it’s more economical to charter a yacht for less than a week. In fact, all charters that are shorter than a week charge a premium on their rates. If you are working within a specific budget and your timing is flexible, you should be able to find a full week charter within your price range.

Spending a full week on a charter vacation gives you an opportunity to enjoy all of the yacht’s amenities while exploring your destination. Can I Rent a Yacht for Less Than a Week?

Yes! Although 7 nights aboard a yacht is the ideal amount of time for a charter vacation, many boats will accept shorter charters, and you’ll likely pay a surcharge for any charters under a week. In select destinations, such as the Caribbean, yachts will offer charters starting at a minimum of 3 nights, while Mediterranean charters tend to prefer week-long charters. Just keep in mind that with a shorter charter, you will have to pick and choose your activities and excursions, and will likely have to sacrifice something that you or someone in your party really would like to do.

What Day of the Week Does the Charter Begin?

Your charter can begin and end on any day of the week, as determined at the time of your booking. Charters typically begin and end at noon. Some guests like to fly in early in the morning on the day that their charter starts, while others will fly in a day or two earlier and spend time at a nearby hotel or resort.

Yacht Charter Costs Explained

A comprehensive breakdown of your charter costs and fees.

When you begin planning a luxury yacht charter it is important to be aware of what is included in the cost of booking your dream charter yacht. although a yacht will have a base charter fee, this may or may not include additional expenses such as food and fuel and this is subject to the terms and conditions within the charter contract. there are various types of charter contracts and which one applies to you will depend on where you wish to cruise., high season.

High season refers to the most popular weeks of the year for yacht charter, whether it’s the winter period in the Caribbean or the height of summer in the Mediterranean , booking in high season requires early planning, determination and a big budget. In addition, planning a yacht charter to coincide with a major event will also be reflected in the price with marine spots for elite events often booking up early. Allow plenty of time when making enquiries to ensure a star studded, well prepared arrival.

Low season typically refers to any time outside of the high season periods. Groups of families and friends looking for a relaxing luxury vacation are advised to avoid high season weeks and opt for weeks outside of this time. The busiest periods are of course reflected in the charter costs and can be up to 15 to 30 percent more expensive than typical low season periods. Chartering a few weeks either side of these busy periods can be almost exactly the same, with the weather almost unchanged in some places, with far less crowds.

This article will go into detail of the costs to be expected when planning and booking a yacht charter. From the base charter fee of a yacht, what is covered within the fee and how it may vary in addition to details of contracts and how an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) can be used to manage any expenses.

Base Charter Fee

The base charter fee in essence refers to the hire cost of the yacht itself, with all equipment in working order in addition to the cost of food and wages for the crew during the entirety of the charter. This is essentially all the base charter fee covers with additional expenses often applicable on top. The base charter fee will vary from one yacht to another and this may be down to any number of reasons from size and on board amenities to the charter season. For instance, the base rate of a charter yacht may increase in "high season" and reduce during the "low season". "High season" and "low season" refers to the busiest and slowest periods for yacht charters though this may appear misleading, as these peak times refer to periods of weeks as opposed to full seasons. In addition, you may find that a yacht is also more expensive during special events such as the Monaco Grand Prix, Cannes Film Festival and America's Cup. Unless you are keen to charter a yacht for a particular "high season" event, choose your dates carefully as although a "high season" rate will be more expensive than the "low season" the two can sometimes share much of the same weather conditions.

Aside from seasons and events, yachts of the same size may also differ in price and this may be down to a vast difference in on board amenities. A yacht which boasts an on board cinema or lavish water toys may have a higher base rate compared with a yacht of minimal amenities of the same size. If it is unclear as to why two yachts of the same size are vastly different in price, ask your yacht broker to explain what the differences are. Once you are clear on what the base price is and why, it is important to discover what costs will be applicable on top and this is dependent on the type of charter contract used.

The type of charter contract applicable to your charter will depend on where in the world you are cruising, as there are various terms within the industry which dictate how the payment structure is determined. For instance, a MYBA (Worldwide Yachting Association, formerly known as Mediterranean Yacht Brokers Association) contract operates under Western Mediterranean Terms (WMT) and is arguably the most commonly used, particularly with large yachts embarking on a Mediterranean yacht charter. This contract is often referred to as a "plus all expenses" contract and requires that the charterer pay for fuel, food, beverages and dockage fees as an additional expense outside of the base charter fee. Typically, guests can accumulate an additional 25% to 50% of the base charter fee though this is dependent on what is consumed. These expenses can be tracked through the use of an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) which we will cover in the next section.

Alternatively, smaller yachts on a Caribbean yacht charter can expect a "mostly all-inclusive" contract known as Caribbean Terms Inclusive (CTI) sometimes referred to as Standard Caribbean Terms (SCT). The Standard Caribbean Terms greatly differ from Western Mediterranean Terms, as the Caribbean terms include three meals a day in addition to four hours cruising per day which is included in the base charter fee.

In addition to the commonly used MYBA terms and Standard Caribbean Terms, there are also less frequently used terms such as Standard Eastern Mediterranean Terms (SEMT) and Greek Terms (GI). Advance Provisioning Allowance (commonly referred to as APA)

Irrespective of the charter contract it is important for guests to be aware of the Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA). The APA was designed to enable charterers to manage their expenses through a clear and trackable arrangement. An APA is a way to deposit the estimated expense amount of your charter to cover costs such as fuel, food and dockage fees. Typically, the APA accrues to approximately 25% to 30% of the base charter fee, though this does of course depend on the charter parties tastes and requirements and could be far less or far greater than this estimation. For instance, charter guests who intend to regularly dine on caviar and vintage wine can expect to pay more, whereas guests on board a sailing yacht charter can expect to save on fuel costs. Charterers can request an estimated APA amount from the yacht broker based on their on board expectations.

The APA is to be paid approximately one month prior to boarding the charter yacht and is paid directly to the Captain of the yacht. Once the APA has been paid to the captain it will then be retained as a bank account of sorts, from which the captain can make expenditures whilst keeping a record of what has been spent. At any point during the yacht charter guests can request a rundown of accounts from the captain as a way of keeping track of expenditures. The captain will request that any additional funds are paid during the charter should guests exceed the APA. It is therefore a good idea to keep an additional account with your yacht broker on shore, as should the APA become critically low at any time the yacht broker can release additional funds to the captain on the charterers command. Cash can be used if necessary though an on shore account may be deemed as hassle free to some.

It is important to remember that food and fuel for example, are charged at cost without mark up to the charterer and upon disembarking, transactions can be reviewed by the "head" charterer and Captain with any remaining funds to be paid back to the charterer.

Fuel and Dockage Fees

It is important to remember that whilst considering fuel costs, the fuel consumed when using jet-skis and tenders will also apply to the charterer. In addition, whilst docked at a marina the generators used in order to produce electricity will also use fuel. The distance travelled and speed of cruising also affects fuel costs and it is important to bear these factors in mind. Dockage fees may vary from very little to large sums and this is dependent again upon the location and whether you wish to dock during a special event such as the Monaco Grand Prix.

Although insurance costs are not directly connected to the charter costs as such, it is useful to bear in mind should you with to take out Charterers Liability Insurance or Cancellation and Curtailment cover. Value Added Tax (VAT)

European Union (EU) tax laws state VAT will apply should you disembark within their waters, for example Italian territorial waters. This may also apply to some Caribbean islands. Commercially registered vessels are usually VAT exempt though vessels which are not commercially registered will be liable for VAT for all charters within the EU.

No request is too large or detail too small on a yacht charter though it is wise to keep in mind the shipping costs should you request an expensive bottle of champagne to be transported to you whilst you are residing in a secluded bay of the Caribbean. It is important to understand the entire payment structure to ensure no unpleasant surprises arise and it is often prudent to keep an escrow account with your broker on shore in order to control charter costs without having to carry cash on board.

A Beginner’s Guide to Chartering a Yacht

With the pandemic driving a boom in superyacht charters , more and more people are taking to the water for their first yachting experience. But while some superyachts can cost more than a million a week to charter, you don’t need to outlay seven figures for your own yachting vacation.

Wondering what else you need to know before stepping on board for the very first time? We’ve turned to experts in the yachting industry for their insider intel on how to charter a yacht like a pro—from how much it will run you, to where to go, and well beyond. Read on.

Do I need a charter broker, and how do I find one?

It’s a charter broker’s job to match you with the right yacht and crew—and then take the lead in planning the entire experience. Professional bodies such as MYBA The Worldwide Yachting Association act as a database of industry-recognized professionals. But the best source for finding a charter broker is often your own network. “Building up a relationship with a charter broker is very important,” says Jacqui Lockhart, a Monaco-based broker at Camper & Nicholsons International . “If possible, look for a recommendation from a friend.”

Once you’ve found the right broker, communication with them will be key. “Take the time to be as detailed with your preferences, such as dietary requirements, likes and dislikes, and preferred activities, as possible,” says London-based broker Charles Crane of Edmiston . “This will give us and the crew the best information to make the charter a success and tailored to perfection.”

How much should I be prepared to spend?

“The entry point is around $40,000 for a week on a yacht 82-feet upwards that can sleep six people," says Lockhart. What can take first time charterers by surprise is that this isn’t an all-inclusive figure. “The charter fee covers the hire, the crew, the insurance—everything that’s linked to the yacht,” Lockhart continues. Anything specifically for the client is extra—including food and beverages, fuel, and dockage. As a rule of thumb, budget for an extra 30 percent on top of the baseline charter figure for these extras, which goes into a fund known as the Advanced Provisioning Allowance (APA). At the end of the charter, it is also customary to tip the crew; between 10 and 20 percent of the charter fee is a guideline figure. There may also be Value Added Tax (VAT) to pay on the charter rate, depending on the country of embarkation.

At the smaller end of the charter fleet, more opportunity exists for single-cabin bookings rather than whole yacht charters. This year in the Caribbean , Sheila Ruffin of Soca Yacht Charters has launched a “Stranger on the Seas” package. Prices start at around $6,000 per person—all-inclusive—on catamarans between 48 and 60 feet. “This allows couples the opportunity to mix and mingle with other couples for an adventurous and social yacht charter on the Caribbean Sea,” says Ruffin.

What destinations are best suited to first-time charterers?

“For first-timers, I wouldn’t recommend a remote destination,” says Captain Kelly Gordon of Freddy , a 106-foot charter yacht based out of the Bahamas . “When it’s hard to get to, that eats up some of your valuable time and can also take some of the fun out of it.”

While yachts are heading towards unchartered waters such as Antarctica with increasing frequency, cruising grounds in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean are classic destinations for a reason. “For the first-time charterer in these locations, there will be more yacht options to choose from, proven cruising grounds with known and safe anchorages, well-connected and easy access hubs to ensure smooth passage to embark and disembark the vessel as well as the ability to source most provisions that guests may want,” says Crane.

The key ingredient? The crew.

Although much of the focus is on securing the right yacht, the secret to the success of a charter is its crew. “Put simply, the crew make the difference between a good charter yacht and a bad one,” says Crane. Today’s crew are increasingly versatile. “They may also be a diving or yoga instructor, personal trainer, fisherman, or sommelier,” he continues.

The crew also knows your cruising area better than anyone else. “Be sure to pick their brain on fun things to do. They often love the opportunity to come up with fun activities and games, whether for kids or adults,” says Lotte Barker-Hahlo, a London-based charter broker at Burgess .

The level of hospitality from crew on most yachts often convert first-time charters into repeat customers. “The attention to detail from the crew is unsurpassed by any other luxury holiday,” says Barker-Hahlo. “From the unpacking of your suitcase to being offered a drink before you’ve even realized you’re thirsty, it’s 24-hour care and service.”

Gordon says that much of the feedback she receives at the end of a first-time charter is why didn’t we do this earlier? “People are always surprised at how we take the time to get to know their needs before they have even arrived. We really do study those preference sheets!”

Think carefully about who else you want on board

Another important factor to a successful yacht vacation? Your fellow travelers. This is a specific type of vacation, which should narrow your list of invitees. “Strongly consider who you vacation with when chartering a yacht,” urges Ruffin. “Unlike other vacation options, yachts are very intimate and exclusive. Choose to share your water adventure with those you like and will enjoy on the water for a week or more.” Maybe, even for veteran yachties, that's the sagest advice of all.

BVI Yacht Charter: Seven Days in Paradise

Want to explore the British Virgin Islands on a yacht charter? What a great vacation! This describes how one may travel for a week from Tortola in this great cruising area. You likely will fly into St. Thomas in the USVI, but the fast ferry system will get you quickly to Tortola. Every charter is thought through just for you by the yacht's Captain who will know the islands well and use your ideas as a further guide. It's your vacation; you can go where you want in the BVIs and stay for however long you like. You'll be dependent only on the weather and where your yacht can safely go. Of course eventually you will need to get back to Tortola on time!

One thing to note is that there are very few places in the Virgin Islands where waverunners or jetskis can be used and best to presume that everyone will be engaged in watersports other than these.

Board your fabulous charter yacht in Tortola, the capital of the British Virgin Islands. Have lunch on board at the marina as you check out the scene. Soon you'll be off to Jost Van Dyke! Visit Foxy's Bar and indulge in an island cocktail called the Painkiller. You won't be sorry! After a bit of exploring around Jost Van Dyke, go on to Great Harbour where you will spend the night. The recommended dinner is at Sidney's Peace and Love Restaurant for its family-style servings of incredibly fresh lobster; though we will expect you to be wowed by the dinner preparations aboard and won't want to eat anywhere else. Hang after dinner for the jump-up and limbo contest!

Cruise to Monkey Point and visit its two beautiful beaches. Monkey Point is off Great Guana Island, known for its iguana and flamingo populations. Take a nice swim and then eat lunch here. Depart for Marina Cay where you'll spend the rest of the day and night aboard your yacht charter. Like Monkey Point, Marina Cay is ideal for snorkeling. Marina Cay is a small island, originally settled by Perry Mason author Robb White, and its surrounding reef provides perfect grounds for sea creature viewing.

Set sail early in the morning for the 'Baths' of Virgin Gorda. These natural sea water pools are a rare wonder. Snorkel in them or just marvel at their uniqueness. In the afternoon, go to Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour and the outlying Spanish Town to eat lunch and explore. Sail over to Virgin Gorda Sound. Visit the lux accommodations and amenities on offer at the Bitter End Resort and Biras Creek. If gorgeous beaches and fruity cocktails on board are not enough, try the spa or athletic facilities.

Stay another day and night here in the lovely Virgin Gorda Sound. You will want to take the yacht's tender to Eustacia Sound to snorkel and get a good view of Richard Branson’s private Necker Island. You could also stay on land and rent a Jeep to really explore this relatively undeveloped island. Virgin Gorda is home to Little Dix Bay, which is a great place to stop, sunbathe, and sip on a refreshing beverage.

Make your way over to Anegada if the weather's good, 'the drowned island,' so-called because it barely rises out of the water. Anegada is a terrific little gem of an island that is surrounded by reefs that have sunk several ships over the years. This makes it an absolute paradise for divers! There is also good snorkeling on Anegada's north shore.

Take the yacht to Peter Island and do not miss the exquisite beach at Half Moon Bay. The sand and surf here will have you captivated for hours. When you are ready for a change of scenery, hike over to the windward beach and take a leisurely stroll. Choose between an overnight at Great Harbour OR Little Harbour. Peter Island is known for its exclusive resort, gorgeous beaches, and its wide variety of water sports. Have fun!

Enjoy your last full day with a memorable trip to The Bight, Norman's Island. Though Norman's Island is uninhabited, the water is a very popular hangout. This so-called "Treasure Island" is great for waterskiing or kayaking enthusiasts. Rock formations, known as "The Indians," in the channel between Norman Island and St. John are landmark spots for snorkelers.

Return to Tortola to disembark. Have the captain take you to Road Town or to West End (the two ferry terminals) depending on your homeward arrangements. Though you'll be leaving the Caribbean behind, you'll be taking the memories with you. Call when you're ready to book your next charter!

Pattaya to Koh Samet - 50 Nautical Miles

Depart at 10 am from Ocean Marina to cruise past the many untouched islands lining the passage through the coast to the beautifully preserved island of Koh Samet enjoying a delicious lunch served en route at Samae San island and arriving at Koh Samet late afternoon. We will anchor in the calmest bay depending on sea conditions. Simply relax and soak up the atmosphere while enjoying cocktails onboard before preparing for an enthralling evening ashore dining at one of the colourful beachside Koh Samet restaurants serving a diverse range of European, Thai and Seafood cuisine.

After dinner perhaps enjoy an evening of fantastic Thai fire shows and beachfront live music venues. For those looking to party you can complete the evening at one of the many lively beach bars and clubs before settling in for a relaxing night on board in your private cabin.

Koh Samet to Koh Chang - 55 Nautical Miles

Enjoy the morning at Ko Samet, relax on the white sandy beaches, sunbathe or perhaps take a Tuk Tuk or scooter to explore the island. Heading off at around Midday for a long 55 nautical mile cruise to the fabulous island of Koh Chang arriving at Koh Changs biggest and most famous beach appropriately called ‘White Sand Beach’ at around 5.30 pm. Enjoy some sundowner drinks onboard or on the beach. There are many excellent fresh Seafood restaurants on the White Sand Beach that are highly recommended. Behind White sand beach is Koh Changs busiest nightlife area which also includes two of the best live music bars in Thailand especially Oodies where the owner performs in his own awesome band.

Koh Chang to Koh Mak - 22 Nautical Miles

In the morning perhaps explore the Gigantic stunning White Sands beach and you will understand why the beach got its name. If you need to do any shopping White sands is the main area of Koh Chang island. Alternatively perhaps enjoy one of the islands many activities such as treetop adventure park, elephant trekking, ATV rides and trek to Klong Plu Waterfall.

At around 2.30 pm we will cruise to Koh Mak with her soft golden sand being gently kissed by warm tropical seas. There are plenty of good restaurants and places to go drink an evening cocktail however you won’t find any disco or loud bars on the island. Using the yacht's tender to explore the bays is a must and it's also highly recommended to visit the breathtakingly stunning Koh Kham only a few hundred meters away from Koh Mak.

Enjoy a complete chilled out day at the paradise island of Koh Mak. In the morning perhaps have breakfast ashore at one of the excellent island hotels and later maybe rent a bicycle to explore. A journey around the island either by foot, bicycle or yacht reveals the hidden treasures of Koh Mak with stunning beaches that curve gracefully around the coastline. Koh Mak is a lovely small island that challenges so many of our views of Thailand. In a country that’s an enigmatic mix of elegance and hedonism, Koh Mak is a piece of Thailand that has not lost its treasured Thai values. The tropical paradise of Koh Mak is one of the safest places on earth. The coastline is predominantly mangrove swamps leading into pristine beaches with shallow warm waters.

You will not find any nightlife on the island and there is virtually no crime.

Koh Mak to Koh Kood Via Koh Rang - 18 Nautical Miles

Around 8.30 am we will cruise West to Koh Rang which is teeming with marine life and offers several dive sites and the best snorkelling of the entire trip. You will be surrounded by hundreds of small colourful tropical fishes, larger pelagic fishes and reef fish. You may spot a sea turtle or even a Whale Shark if you're lucky! Afterwards cruising northwards we will arrive at the piece de resistance island of Koh Kood with probable anchorage at Bang Bao Bay which offers great shelter, stunning bay and fantastic snorkelling.

Koh Kood - 10 Nautical Miles

Koh Kood (also known as Koh Kut) is a large, mountainous island whose interior remains largely jungle-covered and whose western and southern coasts are dotted with glorious white-sand beaches. Without doubt, Koh Kood is the Jewel in the crown of the Koh Chang archipelago. The waters surrounding the West Coast of the magical island are crystal clear and some of the beaches obtain an other-worldly drop-dead gorgeous Maldivian appearance. So beautiful are these beaches that they have won many awards such as Britain’s Sunday Times’ Top 10 most beautiful beaches in the world!!!

Mid Morning we will cruise Northwards Dropping anchor at Klong Chao beach and a kayak journey up the river followed by a jungle trek to the beautiful Klong Chao waterfall is highly recommended. Evening anchorage will be in a spectacular Bay on the west coast near the Captain Hook resort.

Koh Kood - 6 Nautical Miles

Experience the amazing West coast glorious beaches. For lunch, it is recommended to kayak up the estuary besides Captain Hook resort to the awesome Bann Makok restaurant. In the afternoon you can explore the amazing beach north of the Soneva Kiri 6 star resort where the night's anchorage will likely be. Dinner at the Soneva Kiri Resort or Captain Hook resort is highly recommended. (For Soneva Kiri resort table need to book with 48 hours notice)

Morning Departure from Koh Kood Options

Option A) Cruise to Mainland opposite Koh Chang - 40 NM. 15-minute Taxi Journey to Trat airport and fly 1 hour to Suvarnabhumi Airport Bangkok.

Option B) Cruise to Mainland opposite Koh Chang - 40 NM. Approximately 3 hour 30 minutes taxi journey to Pattaya or Bangkok.

Option C) Drop off at Koh Kood, Koh Mak or Koh Chang to extend your holiday further.

• The Palm Beach International Boat Show kicks off later this week.
• Eight megayachts are expected to be on display for would-be buyers and charter customers.
• These are the show's biggest yachts — and how many millions of dollars they are going for.

The Palm Beach International Boat Show — the yacht world's flashiest event stateside — is returning this year with over 800 boats for both deep-pocked potential owners and window shoppers to peruse.

While it's impossible to know what exactly will be on display until the show begins on Thursday, it's expected that eight megayachts — generally defined as ships over 60 meters long — will be docked at the show and at nearby marinas like the Rybovich Marina in the ritzy Florida town.

Some of these are for sale at eye-popping prices, but others are available to if in case you fancy living like a billionaire for a week or two this summer (and if you have six figures to spare on a vacation).

Reportedly owned by Irish billionaire Denis O'Brien, Nero is modeled after J.P. Morgan's 1930s ship , and was built in 2007 and updated in 2021.

She now boasts a gym on her sundeck with multiple cardio machines and a beauty salon, and has an on-board beautician for manicure, pedicure, hair, and massage needs. There's also an upgraded movie theater, two new pizza ovens, and both a pool and a jacuzzi.

For those who want to go overboard, she has more than a dozen toys, including a waterslide, Jet Ski, and flyboard.

Victorious: 85 meters

Price: From $876,600 a week in the summer and $950,000 a week in the winter Standout features: Hammam (Turkish bath), wine cellar, wood-burning fireplace, children's playroom

Victorious brings a party vibe to the yacht show. With a beach club on board, a wine cellar, a cigar clubroom , multiple bars, and a lounge with a piano, the vessel is made for entertaining. Plus, there's a playroom and movie theater to entertain the kids.

For tamer charter clients, Victorious has a suite of wellness features such as a gym, massage room, beauty salon and hammam, or Turkish bath — perhaps a custom request of her owner, Turkish businessman Vural Ak.

She also boasts a treasure trove of water toys, including Jet Skis, jetsurfs, inflatable kayaks, and scuba equipment.

Casino Royale: 72 meters

Price: TBD Special Features: Infinity pool, helipad, private jacuzzi

Purchased and refitted by car dealer magnate John Staluppi last year, Casino Royale is the latest of his James Bond-inspired yachts (he's also owned an Octopussy and a Skyfall, among others).

Casino Royale has a helipad that turns into a dancefloor, an infinity pool, and a wellness center with a gym and sauna. The owner's cabin has its own deck, which features a private bar and jacuzzi.

Talisman C: 70.6 meters

Price: $60 million (or from $567,000 a week to charter) Special features: Massage and beauty room, private library

Likely the largest yacht for sale (not just charter) at the show, the Talisman C is a 2011 six-bedroom boat. The owner's cabin comes with an en suite bathroom, dressing room, private library, and crystal chandeliers.

Amenities include a gym, a beauty room, oversized jacuzzi, and a fully equipped bar. Her crew of 19 includes a trained masseuse, and the toy room comes equipped with a wakeboard, eFoil , and WaveRunners.

Joy: 70 meters

Price: From $650,000 a week Special features: Disco club, basketball court, onboard fitness instructor

Superyacht Joy testifies to the fact that owners want as many on-board experiences as they can get.

There's an expansive suite of fitness features, including a basketball court (don't shoot that hoop too hard!), a personal trainer on staff, boxing equipment, and a handful of machines. For post-workout winddowns, there's a spa with a steam room and onboard masseuse. And for entertainment, there's both an outdoor and indoor cinema, and a disco club.

Triumph: 65.4 meters

Price: From $707,600 a week in the summer and $650,000 a week in the winter Special features: Sauna, helipad, banana boat

This 2021 superyacht is named after Triumph motorcycles — a reported favorite of her rumored owner, British businessman Chris Dawson — and even has one on display as an art piece in the upper deck's lounge. The primary suite is 1,400 square feet and has its own study , and there's a sauna, an indoor-outdoor gym, a helipad, and a massage room spread among her six decks.

She boasts an "armada of water toys," including two kinds of Jet Skis, electric water bikes, and a banana boat.

Seanna: 64.5 meters

Price: $54,000,000 (or from $462,000 a week to charter) Special features: marble foyer, movie room, sundeck pool

The recently refurbished Seanna is available for sale and charter.

Her indoor-outdoor gym is on sea level so that passengers can take a dip after a session with the onboard personal trainer. There's also a sundeck pool, a helipad, a two-room massage facility, and, for the more cerebral guests, a library with an electric fireplace.

There are a number of toys on board, including a popular water trampoline and two WaveRunners.

Come Together: 60 meters

Price: $65,000,000 Special Features: DJ and videographer on board, ice bath, sauna

Next-to-new yacht Come Together is looking for a new owner after doing charters during the 2023 season.

The Beatles' influence is evident beyond the yacht's name, with guitars dotting the sky lounge and a crewmember who doubles as a DJ. There's also an outdoor cinema and bar for entertainment and an ice bath and sauna for the day after the party. The owner's suite has a private study and lounge, and each guest cabin has its own ensuite.

The sale includes a number of toys, like Jet Skis, kayaks, and Seabobs.

Cruising the Moskva River: A short guide to boat trips in Russia’s capital

There’s hardly a better way to absorb Moscow’s atmosphere than on a ship sailing up and down the Moskva River. While complicated ticketing, loud music and chilling winds might dampen the anticipated fun, this checklist will help you to enjoy the scenic views and not fall into common tourist traps.

How to find the right boat?

There are plenty of boats and selecting the right one might be challenging. The size of the boat should be your main criteria.

Plenty of small boats cruise the Moskva River, and the most vivid one is this yellow Lay’s-branded boat. Everyone who has ever visited Moscow probably has seen it.

This option might leave a passenger disembarking partially deaf as the merciless Russian pop music blasts onboard. A free spirit, however, will find partying on such a vessel to be an unforgettable and authentic experience that’s almost a metaphor for life in modern Russia: too loud, and sometimes too welcoming. Tickets start at $13 (800 rubles) per person.

Bigger boats offer smoother sailing and tend to attract foreign visitors because of their distinct Soviet aura. Indeed, many of the older vessels must have seen better days. They are still afloat, however, and getting aboard is a unique ‘cultural’ experience. Sometimes the crew might offer lunch or dinner to passengers, but this option must be purchased with the ticket. Here is one such  option  offering dinner for $24 (1,490 rubles).

If you want to travel in style, consider Flotilla Radisson. These large, modern vessels are quite posh, with a cozy restaurant and an attentive crew at your service. Even though the selection of wines and food is modest, these vessels are still much better than other boats.

Surprisingly, the luxurious boats are priced rather modestly, and a single ticket goes for $17-$32 (1,100-2,000 rubles); also expect a reasonable restaurant bill on top.

How to buy tickets?

Women holding photos of ships promise huge discounts to “the young and beautiful,” and give personal invitations for river tours. They sound and look nice, but there’s a small catch: their ticket prices are usually more than those purchased online.

“We bought tickets from street hawkers for 900 rubles each, only to later discover that the other passengers bought their tickets twice as cheap!”  wrote  (in Russian) a disappointed Rostislav on a travel company website.

Nevertheless, buying from street hawkers has one considerable advantage: they personally escort you to the vessel so that you don’t waste time looking for the boat on your own.

Prices start at $13 (800 rubles) for one ride, and for an additional $6.5 (400 rubles) you can purchase an unlimited number of tours on the same boat on any given day.

Flotilla Radisson has official ticket offices at Gorky Park and Hotel Ukraine, but they’re often sold out.

Buying online is an option that might save some cash. Websites such as  this   offer considerable discounts for tickets sold online. On a busy Friday night an online purchase might be the only chance to get a ticket on a Flotilla Radisson boat.

This  website  (in Russian) offers multiple options for short river cruises in and around the city center, including offbeat options such as ‘disco cruises’ and ‘children cruises.’ This other  website  sells tickets online, but doesn’t have an English version. The interface is intuitive, however.

Buying tickets online has its bad points, however. The most common is confusing which pier you should go to and missing your river tour.

“I once bought tickets online to save with the discount that the website offered,” said Igor Shvarkin from Moscow. “The pier was initially marked as ‘Park Kultury,’ but when I arrived it wasn’t easy to find my boat because there were too many there. My guests had to walk a considerable distance before I finally found the vessel that accepted my tickets purchased online,” said the man.

There are two main boarding piers in the city center:  Hotel Ukraine  and  Park Kultury . Always take note of your particular berth when buying tickets online.

Where to sit onboard?

Even on a warm day, the headwind might be chilly for passengers on deck. Make sure you have warm clothes, or that the crew has blankets ready upon request.

The glass-encased hold makes the tour much more comfortable, but not at the expense of having an enjoyable experience.

Getting off the boat requires preparation as well. Ideally, you should be able to disembark on any pier along the way. In reality, passengers never know where the boat’s captain will make the next stop. Street hawkers often tell passengers in advance where they’ll be able to disembark. If you buy tickets online then you’ll have to research it yourself.

There’s a chance that the captain won’t make any stops at all and will take you back to where the tour began, which is the case with Flotilla Radisson. The safest option is to automatically expect that you’ll return to the pier where you started.

Visit Moscow and St Petersburg in one week: it is completely possible! There are many trains between Moscow and St Petersburg . The travel time on the fastest one is about only 4 hours. Here is a travel itinerary that will allow you to see these two pretty cities in one week.

How many days to visit Moscow and St Petersburg in one week?

In one week, you have time to see the essential things of Moscow and St Petersburg, as well as their completely different atmospheres and stories.

Rather Russian Empire, USSR or XXI century? If you love palaces and therefore everything related to the Russian Empire, do not hesitate to stay in Saint Petersburg any longer. This is certainly where you will find your happiness! Moscow is a big city, hyper dynamic and modern, with a much more pronounced Soviet heritage. If you want to feel the vibrations of a large megalopolis, then spend more time in Moscow.

A week to visit Moscow and St Petersburg during winter time. In winter, and especially for the holiday season, Moscow is much more decorated than Saint Petersburg. Moscow is just magic! It can therefore be well worth spending more time there, if you want to enjoy this festive atmosphere. By comparison, Saint Petersburg was much calmer during this period. My advice. I would say 4 days in St. Petersburg and 3 days in Moscow, especially if you go there in the summer. Otherwise, for the winter holiday season, Moscow is clearly the queen.

What to start with? You can start with the city for which the combination of air tickets is the cheapest. Otherwise, the airfare prices are the same, one way or the other, I would rather start with Moscow and end with St Petersburg.

Trains between Moscow and St Petersburg: very convenient for a week trip

In order to visit Moscow and St Petersburg in a week, it is best to take the train rather than the plane. This saves on travel time to the airport.

The two cities are very well connected by train. There are night trains, sleeper trains, or Sapsan fast trains that only take 4 hours.

• Night train. The advantage is the hotel night saved! In addition, fares are lower compared to the fast train.
• Sapsan fast train. The journey is a seated journey, and rather very comfortable.

What to visit in Moscow in 3 days?

If you are going to visit Moscow and St Petersburg in one week, 3 days in Moscow will certainly be enough to see the essentials. Below I have listed the essential places to see in Moscow in 3 days:

• Walking on Moscow Red Square
• Visiting the Kremlin
• Visiting the Saint Basil’s Cathedral inside
• Discovering one of the biggest Cathedrals in Moscow: the Cathedral of Christ the Savior
• See the Bolshoi Theatre building

However, be aware that visiting the interior of the Kremlin can take time. For example, allow at least 4 hours if you also visit the Palace of Armor. Click on the places to find out more (timetables, tickets, what to see).

Build your program. In order to define your program in detail and make your own selection, you can read my post: What to visit in Moscow? Inside, I’m talking about other, less classic places that may interest you, as well as more detailed programs (neighborhoods, etc.).

Accommodation in Moscow. The choice of geolocation is very important, especially if you stay on site for a short time. The heart of Moscow is the Kremlin, so it can serve as a point of reference. What to visit in St Petersburg in 4 days?

If you are going to visit Moscow and Saint Petersburg in one week, 4 days in Saint Petersburg will certainly be enough to see the essentials. Here is my TOP of the places to see in Saint Petersburg in 4 days (click on the links to find out more):

• Visit Kazan Cathedral (free entrance)
• Visit the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood
• See the Palace Square and visit the Hermitage Museum
• Climb the colonnade of Saint Isaac’s Cathedral to admire a magnificent view of Saint Petersburg and visit the interior of the cathedral
• In summer, visit the Peterhof Palace , take a round trip by boat or visit the Peter and Paul Fortress.
• In winter, visit the Catherine Palace .
• Take a walk in the Summer Garden passing by the Russian Museum and the Engineers’ Castle.

Transport services have English translations on their maps and English announcements via intercom; alternatively, order taxis from the Yandex Taxi app (Russian Uber), though it’s unlikely that your taxi driver will speak English. If you get stuck and cannot communicate, it’s fine to use Google Translate.

Is it safe to travel to Moscow?

Private Chef Reveals Influencer's Morning Menu on $30k-a-Week Superyacht

W ouldn't we all love to wake up to the smell of breakfast waiting for us on the deck of a luxury boat sailing through the Caribbean? A private chef has revealed everything she cooks in the morning for her client on a yacht in the Bahamas in a clip that has gone viral on social media.

In the video , shared on TikTok on Wednesday under the username @lilydavison6, the poster, Lily Davison, shares a glimpse of her client's lavish lifestyle, laying out all the dishes she cooks before 9 a.m. for the Instagram influencer and their family onboard the Sailing Location catamaran, for which prices start at $30,000 for seven nights.

She starts with some bacon and a sliced fruit platter, followed by a batch of fresh blueberry pancakes. She then makes French toast with a specific type of coconut bread bought on the island that she cooks in the plancha grill on deck.

She told Newsweek : "It's hard work, long days and long hours but so worth it as I'm cooking in paradise which is my dream job."

Davison, who has been a private chef on a yacht for two years, says she's always loved cooking, and luckily for her, she had chefs in the family who helped her nurture her passion since she was a little girl.

"I got into the industry as I got a job vlogging on super yachts and whilst I was there, they asked me If I'd like to test run as a hostess on a yacht. I did the test run as a hostess but I ended up cooking every single meal and the guests said 'we didn't know we had a chef onboard'. That sparked my interest and decided to apply as a chef. I then got a job as a chef on my first boat but I didn't stay long as I got a call from Below Deck saying they were looking for a stew and asked if I was free.

"So I went on Below Deck and afterwards I got this job (where I am now on a catamaran in the Bahamas) and have been here for a year and half. And where I met my boyfriend Nik who is the captain."

Davison recently appeared on Below Deck Mediterranean Season 8, a reality TV show that follows the life of a group of crew members working on a superyacht during charter season.

" Below Deck is definitely real but it's a bit more dramatic compared to the real life of yachting due to the guests being way more demanding than in real life," she said about the show.

As if getting to do your dream job in a dream location wasn't enough, being a private chef on a yacht also allows for plenty of time to enjoy the place.

"We get lots of time in-between charters," she added. "We just had a three-week break in January, but we now are pretty full-on with back to back charters."

A caption shared along with the viral post says: "Yes this was all before 9 am."

As much as we'd all love a skilled private chef to cook our every meal, most of us have to cook our own food if we want to eat.

According to data shared by Statista, over 34 percent of Americans cook more than five times a week, while another 37 percent cook about three to five times a week, and only 8 percent cook less than once.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 1.2 million views and 52,000 likes on the platform.

One user, allieD, commented: "Do you get off time where you can swim or lay on the deck without them judging you and making you feel like you should be working?"

And Nikki Morris said: "Aaahhh I'm so happy I seen this love you Lily loved you on below the deck so happy for you beautiful."
