Flybridge Series

Italian style and luxury from 42 to 72 feet, the Absolute Yachts flybridge model line offers a fresh design for the mid-range motor yacht. The Absolute shipyard is located in Northern Italy, in the Province of Piacenza, and in the city of Podenzano. The facility includes over 157,000 square feet of production space and employs over 250 people. There are 7 departments within the shipyard that are all integrated into a unique production chain to maximize efficiency and quality control.

WHAT DOES ABSOLUTE YACHTS DO DIFFERENTLY?

The hull of every Absolute Yacht features a strong, durable fiberglass structure that is reinforced with a multi-dimensional grid. All of the structural components of the yacht, from the bulkheads to the floors, are reinforced with fiberglass supports for additional strength. 

The 48 Coupe' is a wonderful example of innovative concepts put into execution. Absolute had special motors created so that the large glass windows in the salon of this model could be lowered electrically. Additionally, new furniture has been designed for Absolute that is modular and free-standing. This allows owners to be able to creatively position their seating on the flybridge or cockpit to fit the conversation of their guests on board. The modular seats can also come with storage space underneath the cushions. Transparent solar panels have also been integrated into the hardtop that can power most of the electrical equipment on board, while also allowing the natural sunlight to filter into the interior.

Absolute Yachts’ most recent model is the 52 Fly, which rolled out at the 2023 Miami International Boat Show. From the first step aboard, it was clear the Italian builder had sweated not only the details, but also pushed the genre ahead of its competition.

The hull’s glazing, resembling a short, tanto-bladed knife and a vertical bow up front, also added to the contemporary design. Undulating LED lighting inlays in the cockpit overhang imparted a cool, sophisticated look to the space. At the same time, a starboard-side docking station spoke to this boat’s bona fides as a serious cruising machine.

The salon also had design touches that one might not expect to find on a 52-ft. semi-custom build. The aft galley had a four-burner Bosch cooktop and a six-foot-tall, stacked refrigerator and freezer that is useful for longer trips. The drawers all had chic leather tabs as handles, extending a beach-like, elegant vibe to the space.

The starboard-side helm was another place onboard that feels just a little bit different than the standard offerings in this size and class.

Twin Garmin screens were angled off in a small arc, as opposed to facing straight back, which gave them a slightly futuristic feel. Tightly stitched helix patterns in the seat-backs of the helm chairs pointed towards a high level of fit and finish.

A sturdy door next to the helm led to the side deck. Perhaps most important for the helmsperson, the Volvo Penta joystick control was maneuverable while standing on that side deck. The joystick and cockpit control station should make docking this boat easier than a conventional setup.

One of the other significant layouts was the flybridge. Absolute managed to make it look stylish and large, without appearing top heavy. The design included a large forward lounge surrounding the helm station, with back-to-front seats to port, and an L-shaped lounge extending back to the transom, with a center dining table. The side island with fridge can also double as a serving station. The overhead hardtop had an opening center window, and stereo speakers were embedded into the bridge.

Our final impression after a tour aboard: The Absolute 52 Fly was more than the sum of its parts. The boat was full-featured without looking crowded, but also highly functional. This 52-footer was clearly ready for a weekend cruise or extended voyage. The Italian builder proved that a well-conceived design makes for a well-rounded boat.

Absolute Yachts: Navetta 75 – The Absolute Sphere

Fans of the Absolute Yachts brand took their first look at the flawlessly executed flagship Navetta 75 in American waters on Face Dock 5F at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, now in its 63 rd year. Sharing its name with a unique shape – the Absolute Sphere – makes some wish they listened more in math class. Thanks to the Italian shipyard, geometric forms have never looked this good, so much so… when unveiled at the Cannes Yachting Festival, the Navetta 75 captured the Best Interior Design award at the exclusive World Yachts Trophies 2022.

Three more appealing accouterments receiving much admiration include: the inclusion of the modular furniture which allows you to personalize the aft to your own will; separate stairways to and from the bow and stern making it a breeze to pass from the main deck to the flybridge, which itself boasts of a newly designed helm station; and lastly, the overall aesthetics of the main deck as the natural light filtering through accentuates the fine woods and fabric wall coverings.  

Absolute Yachts: 48 Coupé – The Absolute Horizon

Absolute’s pledge to sustainability is beyond venerable, seeing that, these fabrications are not generally found on vessels under 50 feet. Remember too, that by using the panels and embracing solar technology as a form of power, rewards boaters peace and quiet at anchor sans le générateur (that’s the generator for those in doubt).

Absolute Models

72 Flybridge

With a refined and aggressive personality, the Absolute 72 Flybridge is sure to stand out to all its competitors making everyone aboard turn heads. The dimensions of the cockpit are surreal. The aft upper deck has a customizable terrace with a comfortable shower. The interiors compartment is separated into three different areas; the large living room, dining area and the kitchen, on the port side. The large living room has two sofas facing one another, the dining room which is located at the starboard bow has a rectangular table large enough to fit eight people and the kitchen is built as an open space! With four complete cabins aboard, the Absolute 72 Flybridge has enough room to sleep guests as well as a crew.

60 Flybridge

Aside from the crew quarters, the Absolute 60 Flybridge has three staterooms, all provided with their own toilets and showers. Aside from the staterooms, if you love to sunbathe, the Absolute 60 Flybridge will fit your needs to the tee with three dedicated sun tanning areas; one in the bow and two on the fly. Modular furnishing can be arranged as desired. The glazed parapet and discreet stainless steel rails ensure the best possible views.

The stunning flybridge offers a beautiful setting for enjoying the sea, with settee, dining table , a bar unit , and a stern platform for moments of relaxation while admiring the scenery from a privileged viewpoint. Absolute Yachts at the Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show

A prestigious setting for the world premiere presentation of the 52 Fly

15-19 february 2023.

Absolute Yachts returns to Miami for the Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show , the largest boat and yacht event in the world with over 1,000 exhibitors and thousands of boats. Absolute’s presence in Miami will be hallmarked by the world premiere presentation of the new 52 FLY , plus the 56 FLY , the 60 FLY , the Navetta 64 and the Navetta 75 . Taking place from 15 to 19 February 2023, the glamorous show will feature, in addition to the boats, a series of live concerts, interactive boating experiences, the latest innovations in aquatic recreation, and the legendary Miami parties that go on until the small hours.

The Absolute 52 FLY is the latest arrival in the brand’s Flybridge range . The keyword chosen by Absolute to describe the 52 FLY is “direction”, and in fact it constitutes a new way forward in the world of yachting, offering space and features impossible to find in other boats of this size. All its features were designed to guarantee a comfortable cruising experience , enhanced by the ample headroom, a minimal use of steps, and endless thoughtful design details that make life on board a pure pleasure. The open-air areas provide innovative ways of enjoying the marine environment at all times of day, from breakfast on the spacious cockpit terrace, through to sunbathing on the bow loungers and cocktails on the stunning flybridge , complete with dining table, galley and bar unit. Inside, the saloon offers 360° views by virtue of the extensive glazing. The galley has everything that even the most demanding chefs need, and it includes a spacious pantry , unusual in this category of yachts. The full-beam owner cabin is located in the bows for optimum peace and tranquillity. A midships VIP cabin is in every way comparable to a second master cabin, a true surprise for its space and en-suite bathroom. The third guest cabin has an electrical system for seamless transformation from twin berths to double. In addition, there is a multi-function crew cabin .

The 56 FLY , at its premiere presentation in the USA, is a compendium of versatility, innovation and excellence, packed with thoughtful features that make it perfect for extended travel at sea. The basic concept underpinning the 56 FLY is “charisma”, a characteristic emerging from the yacht’s extraordinary attention to detail . The separation between the yacht and the marine environment is minimised by transparent parapets and open gunwales. Absolute’s masterly use of modular furniture ensures that spaces for relaxation at the bows and in the cockpit area can be personalised according to the occasion, from breakfast overlooking the sea right through to cocktails with your friends at sunset.

The 60 FLY is a model with characteristics normally associated with much larger craft. Its exterior design facilitates use by both guests and crew, with two lateral stairwells from stern cockpit to swim platform, and seamless transitions between saloon, galley and cockpit that enhance liveability. The keyword for the 60 FLY is “prism”, and this expresses the yacht’s uniquely multi-faceted aspect, its ability to provide many different ways of enjoying the sea by means of an incredibly versatile layout. The aft cockpit is exceptionally spacious and comfortable, and its furnishings can be tailored according to user requirements. The flybridge becomes a lofty open-air space, itself combining different settings, from the ultra-accessorized fly helm station to the dining area with galley, and a stern platform for total relaxation.

The Navetta 64 shares all the Navetta DNA, but with some remarkable innovations. Saloon glazing is uninterrupted to offer 360° views from the saloon, and here the original feature is the reverse-raked windscreen in front of the helm station, giving the captain greater visibility and creating a distinctive, aggressive design touch. Another point of strength is the optional beach club , with a cabin looking on to the stern platform and a double sliding glass window at sea level. The flybridge is an experience in itself, with a space for relaxation at the stern, a dining area with bar and grill at the centre, and a helm station flanked by two C-shaped settees. Throughout, the Navetta 64 features Absolute’s signature artisanal skill , with materials such as solid walnut and elm timber, crystal glass and steel.

The flagship Navetta 75 embodies all the characteristics that hallmark Absolute yachts. For this reason, its keyword is “sphere”, a reference to its all-round perfection . It offers a sensation of generous space , achieved by features such as the extensive use of sliding doors , and exceptionally large windows . For example, the owner cabin , located in the bows for maximum silence and privacy, has large hullside windows that optimise light and views, a centreline queen berth accessible from three sides, a walk-in closet and a full-beam bathroom. The cabins also comprise two doubles with en-suite bathrooms, and a twin-berth cabin at midships. Crew quarters offer generous space for up to three, with separate galley and laundry room, features typical of much larger yachts. The design innovation lavished on the Navetta 75 includes a system of stairs and passageways that enables the crew to operate in total discretion without having to pass through the salon or other guest spaces.

An ultra-luxury cruise line wants to attract wealthy Americans with its all-inclusive 'yachts' — see what the new 128-guest ship will be like

• Ultra-luxury cruise line  Emerald Cruises says its third ocean ship will debut in 2026.
• The all-inclusive vessel, which Emerald calls a "yacht," would accommodate up to 128 people.
• Emerald, known for river cruises, has been investing more in its ocean-based business.

Over the last few years, the mass-market cruise industry's larger-than-life mega-ships — outfitted with loud waterparks and more dining options than you could eat in a week — have dominated the spotlight.

But in the ultra-luxury cruise market, it's been the opposite. The smaller and more exclusive the vessel, the better. So much so that Emerald Cruises' next ocean-based ship, launching in 2026, plans to accommodate no more than 128 travelers.

It's a far cry from Royal Caribbean's new 7,600-guest cruise liner . And the price difference is just as steep: almost $250 per night on Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas versus more than $720 per night on the upcoming ultra-luxury Emerald Kaia.

"When people think of cruising now, they automatically think of these large ships ," Robert Castro, the vice president of marketing for Scenic Group, Emerald's parent company, told Business Insider. "There's a market for that, but we're in a unique position."

If you’re familiar with river cruises, Emerald might ring a bell.

The cruise line, owned by Scenic Group, only offered river cruises for its first nine years.

But lately, its biggest growth and investments have been in oceans, not rivers.

In 2022 and 2023, the Switzerland-based company launched its first two ocean cruise ships, which it calls "yachts." Each accommodates a maximum of 100 guests . And so far, they've been hits, with the cruise line experiencing record-high bookings in 2023.

Yes, the ships look like yachts. And yes, they're marketed as such.

But because Emerald's vessels operate group itineraries, they still technically count as cruise ships, albeit really nice ones.

So instead of paying hundreds of thousands of dollars a week to charter a yacht, as is traditional with these high-end vessels , travelers can spend less than $800 a day for a traditional cruise on said yacht-like ship.

While it's not nearly as exclusive, it sure is a hell of a lot cheaper, "bringing the charter yacht experience to reach for people who would never even imagine," Castro said.

Emerald’s upcoming 393-foot-long, 128-guest Kaia would be perfect for fans of small, high-end ships.

The 64-cabin Emerald Kaia would have a larger guest capacity than its two predecessors but would still be tiny compared to most cruise ships, including some of the most luxurious ones.

Regent Seven Seas' new Grandeur can accommodate 746 guests, while Ritz-Carlton says its next ship will sail up to 448 travelers.

Even Four Season's upcoming vessel — with fares up to $350,000 a week — would have a larger guest capacity of up to 222 people. However, it would be almost 290 feet longer than Emerald Kaia.

Like traditional cruise ships, Kaia would have amenities like a spa, two lounges, and three dining options.

The top deck would also have a cabana and bar-lined pool, one of three swimming holes on the ship.

But unlike its mass-market competitors, Kaia would have an open-air marina that would give travelers direct access to the water.

Water platforms are typically only common on yacht-marketed ships, such as Emerald's, Ritz-Carlton's, and, someday, Four Seasons'.

This means guests on the upcoming Kaia could dip in the Mediterranean, Adriatic, and Aegean seas — as is included in its 2026 and 2027 itineraries — without disembarking the ship.

According to the cruise line, Emerald Kaia's future itineraries include an 11-day sailing from Cyprus to Greece and a 20-day one from Seychelles to Kenya.

Its cheapest itinerary is currently an eight-day roundtrip Seychelles vacation in 2027, starting at $5,055 per person.

As an all-inclusive cruise line, amenities like alcohol, WiFi, and excursions would be included in the base fare. However, unlike all-inclusive competitor Regent Seven Seas , guests must pay for their flights to and from the ship.

To compare, itineraries of the same length on Regent's Seven Seas Grandeur and Ritz-Carlton's Ilma would be $36 cheaper and $120 more expensive, respectively, per day.

But the fares aren't stopping travelers from gravitating toward Emerald. Before it unveiled Kaia, its parent company announced a record number of bookings in January — up 67% compared to its previous record in January 2020.

Castro said about 20% to 35% of its guests are American, typically well-acquainted with luxury travel.

The company's goal has been to increase its number of American customers. So far, it's working and is now "on track to be Emerald's No. 1 market," Castro told BI.

The new vessel is being built at a great time for the cruise line.

Strong demand, compounded by a small fleet of small ships, has led to fewer available cabins for its upcoming summer Mediterranean cruises.

Several of these sailings are now fully reserved. The cheapest remaining fares start at $4,570 per person for an eight-day November sailing from Athens, Greece, to Dubrovnik, Croatia.

It's great news for Emerald as it considers a future with more ocean "yachts." "The sooner we fill the ships, the sooner we start building new ones," Castro said.
