Indonesia yacht charter

Indonesia is an archipelago, boasting over 17,000 islands scattered along the equator, divided into islands found on the Indian and the Pacific Ocean. In fact, it is the biggest in the world. Such diversity of expansive islands offer more than a thousand opportunities for sailing in its calm seas, making a yacht charter holiday an incredible opportunity to explore its fantastic tropical isles and hidden coves.

How much to charter a yacht in Indonesia?

A yacht charter provides the perfect platform to reach remote island groups and secluded islands in Indonesia. Whether you're onboard a motor yacht, catamaran, or a sailing yacht, you will find cruising in Indonesia as a vacation you will be talking about for many years to come. A 43-foot catamaran in Indonesia can cost around $1,900 for a day's rent, with 14 people on board. A 131-foot sailing yacht, on the other hand, and accommodating a group of 14 adults, can cost around $59,500 for a week's rent. Additionally, a 117-foot motor yacht with nine adults on board can cost around $70,00 for a week cruising Indonesia's islands.

What are the most popular yacht holidays in Indonesia?

There are two island groups in Indonesia that are worthy of any yacht charter holiday. These islands are home to many uninhabited isles, remote villages, secret beaches, and hidden coves. Because of their remoteness, you will find fewer crowds and fewer tourists, seemingly leaving the seas and beaches all to yourself. In the summer, the most popular yachting destination in Indonesia is the Komodo National Park. In the winter season or months of November to February, the popular destination is Raja Ampat.

A preserved and protected UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Komodo National Park, and its protected group of islands are among the world's most biodiverse destinations. With a world of water sports activities like scuba diving, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, and a world of inland itineraries, you can sail through its islands and explore for days and days on end. You can spot the world's largest lizard on Komodo Island, the Komodo, casually lazing on the beach and jungles. In Pantai Merah, you can lay all day on the famous pink beach, merely marveling at the natural beauty that surrounds. Found in the center of the Indonesian archipelago, Komodo National Park is to the east of Denpasar, Bali, approximately 744 km away, making it a far-flung yachting destination offering peace, tranquility, and an entirely different world to explore.

Raja Ampat is an even more remote yachting destination, where it seems like the tropical paradise was created just for you. With crystal clear waters, snorkeling's mere activity introduces you to the most diverse marine life on Earth. With 1,500 small islands, you can find 550 species of corals, more than a thousand different fish species, and a vibrant, healthy reef system that's out of this world. Located in the Coral Triangle, between the Pacific and Indian Oceans, its marine biodiversity is unrivaled by any other destination in the world. Offering tropical rainforests, volcanic mountains, and some of the friendliest locals you will ever meet, Raja Ampat offers a remote, secluded cruising destination that will make you feel like you're the only people on Earth in this tropical paradise.

Where to go on a luxury yacht charter in Indonesia?

Bali is the most popular tourist destination in Indonesia, and it's also one of the best places to charter a luxury yacht in the country. The Bali Marina can host boats up to 30 meters in length, where luxury yachts moor to explore the nearby islands and Bali itself. With beautiful beaches, luxury resorts, a bustling nightlife in Kuta, and high-end shopping in Seminyak, Bali offers luxury travelers both natural beauty and indulgence all at once.

Jakarta, Indonesia's capital, also offers luxury yacht charters, where motor yachts cruise the Jakarta Bay offering stunning views of the city's skyline. Jakarta features the Batavia Marina, which can host vessels up to 25 meters in length. With its international airport and the city being its cultural, economic, and political capital, elite travelers arrive in Jakarta to explore the capital before heading out into their archipelago expedition on board a luxury yacht charter.

And lastly, a few marinas are also found in Indonesia's remote islands, such as Raja Ampat, where a yacht club and marina with luxury amenities are located. On the island in Lombok, a foreign-owned marina features a clearance port, resort facilities, and a marina that hosts 66 berths. With 17,000 islands, Indonesia is a yacht charter's paradise. With so much natural beauty, a rich culture, warm and welcoming locals, and weather that's perfect almost all-year-round, Indonesia is one of the world's best yacht charter destinations with undeniable beauty that must be discovered.

Additionally, setting sail with a skipper will make your voyage even more comfortable! The skipper will take care of all the technical aspects of sailing, so all you need to do is sit back and relax.

If you would like to take charge of your boat charter in Indonesia, then bareboat charters are the way to go. Enjoy a bareboat charter if you have a license and set sail at your own pace. When is the best time of year to rent a boat?

In the months just outside of the high season, specifically April to June and October , average temperatures in Indonesia range from the high 70s to low 80s °F. The weather during these months is pleasant, providing comfortable conditions for boating activities while avoiding the peak tourist crowds of the high season.

What type of boat is best for an Indonesian boat charter?

Before choosing the right vessel for your boat rental in Indonesia, you first have to think about the duration of your holiday. If you’re only going to sail for a few days, it is best to opt for a daily charter such as a motorboat or a RIB. With the speed of these vessels, you’ll be able to see everything on your wish list in no time. If you’re planning a longer charter of a week or more you should choose a vessel that includes amenities you’ll need during your stay. Catamarans and yachts have the space and accommodations on board to ensure a comfortable stay on the water. For a more luxurious holiday, you might consider a gulet, and for an authentic sailing experience a sailboat.

If you’re unsure about whether or not a vessel suits your needs, feel free to contact the boat owners to get a better sense of what is included on board. With our large fleet, you’ll have no problem finding the perfect boat for your Indonesia boat charter!

11 Electric Motorcycles Made in Indonesia, Which is Your Favorite?

11 Electric Motorcycles Made in Indonesia, Which is Your Favorite?

Table of Contents

Not many know that Indonesia has produced a large number of electric motors. The use of electric motorized vehicles continues to be encouraged to prevent an increase in harmful carbon dioxide emissions. In addition to being environmentally friendly, the advantages of electric motorized vehicles are the efficient use of fuel, easy maintenance, and do not make a noisy sound. So, is there a BFI friend here who wants to have one of these electric motorbikes made in Indonesia? Here, the BFI Finance team provides information about 11 electric motorcycles made in Indonesia which are not inferior in quality to foreign production.

11 Electric Motorcycles Made in Indonesia

The first Indonesian-made electric motor is called Gesits. The Gesits electric motor has been in development since 2018, and recently it has been officially marketed widely. Physically, this Indonesian-made electric motorbike has a look like the 2017 Honda Vario with firm and sporty body lines. Gesits come in three color variants, namely red, black, and white.

For specifications, the Gesits electric motor uses electric power with a power of 5 KW. When the battery is fully charged, Gesits can cover a distance of about 50 km using a single battery and 100 km when using a dual battery. The electric charge is also relatively short, which only takes 3 to 4 hours to fully charge. The selling price of the Gesits electric motorbike starts from Rp. 26 million.

If Gesits carries a modern design, this time the electric motorcycle made in Indonesia carries a retro theme, namely the Viar Q1. The Viar Q1 electric motor was first introduced in 2017 and to date has had 2 different motor generations. Viar Q1 uses a 60v 23 Ampere Lithium-Ion battery which takes 4 to 5 hours to fully charge. If the battery is fully charged, Viar Q1 is able to run up to a maximum distance of 60 km with a maximum speed of 60km/hour. The selling price of Viar Q1 in the market starts at Rp. 18 million only!

3. Quest Motors Atom Alpha

Lake Toba welcomes F1 PowerBoat Championship 2023 enthusiasts with natural charm

ake Toba, North Sumatera, is the upcoming venue for the F1 PowerBoat Championship from Feb. 25-26, 2023. Touted as the biggest PowerBoat tournament, the Championship will feature 20 athletes spread across 10 teams from six countries.

Aside from being the most important event in powerboat racing, the Championship will provide ample opportunity to promote the natural beauty of Lake Toba and its surrounding areas to international spectators flying in from all over the world.

“This event is as important as the MotoGP in Mandalika, Lombok last year. Thus, we believe that the F1 PowerBoat Championship will be the perfect event to showcase the attractiveness of Lake Toba to international audiences.” said Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno.

“The influx of travellers coming in from all over the world would surely boost economic recovery in the area, especially micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMES),” he added.

In between adrenaline-pumping powerboat races, visitors can fully immerse themselves in the natural allure of Lake Toba, one of Indonesia’s five Super Priority Tourism Destinations. The lake, with an area of more than 1,145 square kilometers and a depth of 508 meters, was formed from by a violent prehistoric volcanic eruption 74 thousand years ago.

Other destinations around Lake Toba are not short of charm either. Situated on the south of the lake, the town of Balige offers a magnificent view of Lake Toba and surrounding mountains. The town was also a witness to the native Batak people’s first revolt against the Dutch government.

Upon visiting Balige, travelers are treated to a scenery of Lake Toba from a variety of different viewpoints at Tarabunga Hill, Pahoda, Lumban BulBul Beach or Samosir Beach.

The Lumban BulBul Beach sets itself apart from other beaches for being a freshwater beach lined with white, sparkling sands. Visitors can take part in exciting water-based activities such as banana boating, riding on the traditional solu boat or renting a motorboat to do some sightseeing around the lake.

Not too far away from Balige is the Meat (pronounced may-ut ) Village in Tobasa Regency. Sitting at an altitude of 919 meters above sea level, the village is often said to be the lowest geographical point in the Toba Samosir region.  After a walk among verdant paddy rice fields, visitors can visit local dance studios and watch performances of the traditional Sipitu Cawan dance.

The nearby Desa Wisata (Tourism Village) is the perfect place to learn about local wisdom. Floating in the middle of the lake is Samosir Island, where two tourism villages, Tomok and Simanindo stand. Home to the Batak ethnic group, residents of both villages still celebrate their ancestors’ rituals and traditions. Here, you can experience a Sigale-gale Puppet ritual that calls upon the spirits of deceased ancestors.

.

Traveling to North Sumatera is not the same without visiting local workshops and admiring the beauty of Lake Toba’s traditional textile, kain ulos . This signature textile is not just an important cultural heritage to the Batak Toba people, but it’s also a sacred artifact that symbolizes blessings, love, compassion and unity.

Lake Toba is also a haven for culinary enthusiasts. Finding halal food is no obstacle because the region is home to a goldfish dish called Dekke Na Niarsik (Arsik goldfish). Goldfish sourced from the area is cooked until dry and seasoned with various spices, including the Andaliman pepper,

A species endemic to Lake Toba and a staple in Batak Toba cuisine, Andaliman has recently gained attention due to its popularity among culinary enthusiasts from outside the area. People in the area, especially MSMEs, have come up with creations to promote Andaliman with mouth-watering dishes such as andaliman pizza, sambal, bandrek (herb drink) and more.

A boon for the recovering economy

Since its first run in 1981, the F1 PowerBoat Championship is considered to be one of the most challenging sports in the world. Racers require a certain amount of finesse to maintain the balance of their powerboat against the water current. The acceleration of powerboats can exceed that of race cars, reaching 160 km/hour within four seconds. While gliding at incredible speeds, drivers must race against each other without the use of breaks or clutches.

In anticipation of international spectators flocking in to see competitors testing their might at the revered volcanic lake, the government has pushed for infrastructure development and other supporting facilities. Sandiaga himself has also assured that the Tourism and Creative Economy Minister has also collaborated with other ministries and agencies to ready the human resources around the area.

The Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry has assisted locals in setting up homestay and tourism village tour packages, as well as developing MSME products. The ministry also provides hospitality training, tourism awareness sessions and more.

“Hospitality is key to avoid tourists feeling disappointed after their visit to Lake Toba. We will ensure that the impact of this event can be falt by MSMEs by conducting training sessions and strengthening the supply chain of local products so they can be used by hotels and inns,” Sandiaga elaborated.

The Championship will also have a number of side events including culinary festivals (including a grilled fish festival), watch parties and MSME exhibitions. There will also be entertainment from celebrities and various cultural art attractions from various regions of North Sumatera.

“We expect a 3.7 percent increase within two years post-event. The F1 PowerBoat Championship is predicted to generate 180 million digital impressions and an economic impact of Rp 212 billion (US$ 13.98 million) for the economy of North Sumatera,” said Sandiaga.

The minister further reminded visitors coming to the Lake Toba area to continue adhering to health protocols such as wearing masks, keeping their distance, washing hands regularly, and taking the required booster vaccinations before travelling into the area.
