The best waterfront restaurants and cafés in Singapore
Easy, breezy, beautiful – these scenic dining spots offer a meal with a view
See the line where the sky meets the sea? It may be calling out to you. Staring out at the sea or river can be a scenic, soothing experience. That, coupled with some great food and drinks, is surely a great way to unwind. For those that are tired of staring at the four walls, escape the concrete jungle and seek out these waterfront eateries instead, where the views come as part of your meal. And post-meal strolls by the beach or river are a must.

21 waterfront restaurants and cafés in Singapore
Canopy Changi Village
- Restaurants
- Singaporean
The brand-new all-day dining restaurant is headlined by stunning waterfront views overlooking Changi Creek, the Straits of Johor, and Pulau Ubin. The surroundings of the urban sanctuary are also enriched with verdant greenery and tranquil water features that make it the perfect escapade for families, friends and even pets. Guests can choose to park themselves in the shady outdoor area fitted with coastal furniture or lounge at the exclusive beachfront cabanas. There is also a cavernous indoor section for those who aren’t chummy with the sun. The idyllic location also makes for an ideal venue for events, from intimate wedding solemnisations to corporate retreats or large-scale parties.
- Contemporary European
- Raffles Place
One foot in the charming waterfront location and you’ll feel as if you’ve wandered into the captivating city of Matera – known for its iconic Sassis on rocky outcrops overlooking the Ionian seas. At the helm is chef Bjoern Alexander (formerly from two-Michelin-starred restaurant Octavium in Hong Kong) where he and his team set out to blend traditional Italian cuisine and vibrant flavours of Asia on artfully inventive plates. While the fine-dining restaurant has its tasting menus (from $78), it also offers a la carte options that cater to larger group settings.
- Mediterranean
Panoramic beachfront views of the calm seas, an alluring azure infinity pool, and fresh vibrant Latin-Mediterranean cuisine. These are a few of our favourite things about Sol & Ora. Perched up seven floors, the rooftop restaurant feels like an enchanting Santorini holiday home – think beachfront views but without the icky sand sticking to your feet. T he all-day dining restaurant serves up a modern range of Mediterranean and European cuisine that can only elevate your sunrise at the horizon moment. Remember to stick around for the sporadic fireworks courtesy of the Sentosa island show right in front of you.
East Coast Commune
- Marine Parade
East Coast Commune is a charming café at East Coast Park, with an inviting interior that taps onto the surrounding landscape as design inspiration. Inside, the high-ceiling pitstop comes decked with rattan-backed chairs, wood-panelled counters, and potted foliage to echo the outdoors. A teal-white colour scheme and marine paintings by a local artist also help lend a tropical, seaside touch to the space. The concise menu features sourdough sandwiches, pasta, and sides of fries and granola.
Red House Seafood Esplanade
After delighting our tastebuds for over 46 years, the live seafood restaurant has now expanded with a stylish new restaurant in Esplanade. Diners are now treated to stunning waterfront views of Marina Bay while they feast on a lavish spread in the comforts of a bright and airy space. The crowd favourites are undoubtedly the tomato-forward chilli Sri Lankan crab and the creamy chunks of Tasmanian rock lobster. Other exclusive outlet dishes come from the BBQ section where diners can enjoy a smoky range of succulent Indonesian-style grilled squid ($28) and chicken satay ($3.80 per piece) on steroids.
Switching up to the prime waterfront scenery of Marina Bay, the former Martin Road resident cafe exudes classy yet boho seaside resort vibes. The P.S Cafe concepts are known for food that is equal parts photogenic and tasty. Tuck into signature dishes like salmon tacos and a nest of fries, that’s artistically created to look like a Japanese kakiage dish of tempura. The menu showcases a mix of small and big plates here, perfect for a larger group to try a little bit of everything. But it is also proper romantic if it is just for the two of you.
Quayside Isle @ Sentosa Cove
This L-shaped waterfront compound is filled with plenty of gastronomic international dining concepts coupled with a tranquil ambience and lush surroundings. For fresh seafood, head to Greenwood Fish Market for their two-tiered seafood platter featuring succulent Boston lobsters, freshly shucked oysters and applewood smoked salmon. Otherwise, there are wood-fired oven pizzas at SolePomodoro Trattoria Pizzeria or casual Thai with some spice at Gin Khao Bistro. While you indulge, you're bound to find yourself marvelling at the one too many fleets of yachts parked on the calm waters of the berth.
The waterfront globe at the Fullerton Pavilion is none other than Monti, a swanky Italian restaurant and bar that's pulsing with life by the bay. Savour on the hearty Italian dishes such as the Monti icon of risotto cacio e pepe ($39) that is finished in a wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano and topped with black truffle tableside. Fancy a little breeze? Head up to the deck above and enjoy the whopping views of the cityscape under the stars. There will be a range of refreshing tipples such as the signature Mr Monti ($22), a refreshing highball made of white rum, freshly squeezed grapefruit juice, grapefruit tonic and basil to treat.
Rasa Istimewa Waterfront
- price 2 of 4
Have your seafood fix on the water – sort of. Located at Woodlands Waterfront Park, this family-oriented restaurant prides itself on its mouth-watering plates of barbecue seafood, satay, local favourites and Western dishes at reasonable prices. The restaurant had a makeover last year complete with partial glasses so that you can enjoy the stunning waterfront views and the cool breeze while digging into signature dishes like barbecue stingray ($14/$22), cuttlefish ($16/22), chilli crab and black pepper crab (seasonal prices).
Panamericana
Its location within Sentosa Golf Club offers a pocket of scenery that cannot be found on the mainland. The restaurant, with floor-to-ceiling windows, is flanked by relaxing greenery from the golf course, and glittering vistas of the South China Sea. You’d want to head out and dine al fresco at the breezy verandah, or grab a seat out at its manicured lawn for a closer view of the water. The food at Panamericana is well worth the travel, too, with a colourful menu that pulls from 14 different countries found along the Pan-American Highway. Tuck into Argentinian empanadas ($10 for two), a hearty tostada ($16), or lamb ($55) and other meats charred on the asador.
PS.Cafe by the Sea at East Coast Park
You hear gentle waves crashing and the calls of distant seagulls as you step into PS.Cafe by the Sea. But the sounds aren’t coming from the nearby beach of East Coast Park; it’s from the café’s speakers. Still, the beachside outlet of PS.Cafe is just as soothing – spacious, airy, with plenty of light to lend a touch of a tropical holiday vibe. The waterfront location also calls for a seafood-focused menu, with highlights that include chargrilled octopus ($21), lemongrass mussel and clam spaghetti ($29.50), and chorizo and calamari stew ($30).
- South Asian
This quiet nook is a neighbourhood secret for those in the Northeast. Hidden in Punggol park with an alfresco area facing the large pond, the best time to visit is before sundown when you'd sometimes witness pink-hued skies against the water. The gastro bar serves up comforting Asian recipes for an altruistic cause. It helps to know that a part of your meal – or your next pint – goes into providing nutritious meals for underprivileged families in the community.
Offshore Bar and Grill
Offshore Bar and Grill, located at the Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal, offers a scenic escape from the city. Peep the sea view through a fenced gate (erected in the name of national security), and tuck into a menu of fresh catch and prime cuts. With buffet-style prices that start from $69 per pax, choose to char-grill slices of pork and chicken, or have the beef shabu shabu-style. The extensive spread also includes slipper lobster, oysters, prawns, and other seasonal highlights.
Super Loco Customs House
Go loco for tacos and all things Mexican at Super Loco Customs House. Located in The Fullerton Heritage precinct, the contemporary Mexican restaurant offers stunning views of Marina Bay Sands and the waterfront, alongside a menu filled with traditional delights. For the best experience, grab a seat outdoors under the fairy lights and order a selection of hearty plates to go around. Signature dishes on the menu include tacos topped with slow-roasted pork shoulder ($12) and crispy chicken ($9), and Ceviche de Mango ($18) made with sustainably farmed seabass.
Tanjong Beach Club
Tanjong Beach Club provides intimate access to the sea, along with refined plates inspired by coastal cuisine from around the world. Soak up the sun, sip on refreshing thirst-quenchers, and slurp up hearty options that include beer-battered fish and chips ($28) and a tropical acai bowl ($21). Want a change in scenery? Grab a gourmet picnic basket from Tanjong Beach Club and hop over to a tranquil spot of your choice on Sentosa Island.
Whisk and Paddle
Boasting a large outdoor veranda that looks out at Punggol-Serangoon Reservoir, Whisk and Paddle is a tranquil oasis that's perfect for a leisurely meal. Its comprehensive menu includes an all-day breakfast selection, burgers, pastas, pizzas and mains that include the duck confit ($28.80) and lamb shank ($30.80).
At this waterfront location, chow down on American diner food against lush views of our city's skyline and tranquil Marina Bay waters. The breezy nautical restaurant slings out hulking dishes like the blossom onion ($12), smoky barbecue ribs ($32), ribeye ($52), and ultra-spicy hot wings (called 'Cocaine Wings', $15). If you're looking to really feast, get yourself the ultra-tender beef short ribs ($36). Thirsty after a ride along Marina Bay? Make a pitstop and quench your thirst with margaritas ($16/glass, $60/jug) or the small menu of cocktails ($16-$18), beers by the bottle ($11-$15), or milkshakes ($8).
Privé at Keppel Bay
- Harbourfront
Away from the Singapore mainland, Privé at Keppel Bay provides a mini escape from the crowd in town. Immerse yourself in its tranquil atmosphere as you dine in the company of yachts and sea views. The family-friendly café even has an outdoor playground to keep the young ones happy as you chow down on all-day classics like eggs Benedict ($18), pancakes ($15) with peanut butter and jelly, and avocado toast ($18).
Zorba is designed to transport you to the coastal Santorini islands. Enjoy its riverfront locale, which overlooks the Singapore River and brings to mind the soothing breeze from the scenic holiday destination. There’s also the azure blue-white interior that draws reference to the Mediterranean Sea. Its menu is one that’s rooted in traditional Hellenic cuisine, which dishes of slow-grilled octopus ($30) and beef striploin souvlaki ($28) – all of which are best washed down with a cold Mythos ($12), the nation’s famous lager.
The Punggol Settlement
Located near the Punggol Point Jetty, the Punggol Settlement is a dining destination that overlooks the sea. The two-storey building houses a range of dining options, from the famous White Restaurant to barbecued meats from Siam Square Mookata. For the best, unobstructed views, we’d recommend heading up to the second floor and dine al fresco. Head there during dinner time, and you’ll be able to enjoy views of the sun setting as you enjoy a meal.
Jumbo Seafood
This seafood chain might have outlets around Singapore, but you’ll want to visit its flagship location at East Coast Seafood Centre for maximum vibes and enjoyment. Its al fresco seating is just a mere few steps away from the fringe of the sea, making it convenient to take a scenic stroll after stuffing yourself silly with plates of chilli crab, salted egg prawns, and fragrant yam rings.

5 restaurants with incredible views of Moscow
The restaurant Sixty is located on the 62nd floor of the Federation Tower, one of Moscow's tallest skyscrapers. At 225 meters above the ground, its height is no joke. You can almost touch the clouds during the day or count the stars and lights of the Moscow City skyscrapers at night.
When entering the restaurant, you immediately notice its huge panoramic windows and birch trees (which, unfortunately, are not real). And if you’re not ready to visit this restaurant for the sake of these windows alone then its talented French chef, Regis Trigel, should be more than enough to persuade you.
One guest named Alexander shared his impressions: "The point of the restaurant is the moment when the windows open, people get up from their seats to stand by the open windows and admire Moscow in the open air. In fact, from the usual procedure of airing the rooms, a whole show is made—that's great! It is said that this is the only place in all Moscow City where the upper parts of the windows are fully opened."
Keep in mind it is best to make a reservation in advance in order to get a table by the window.
International Business Center, Federation Tower, 60th floor, Presnenskaya emb., 12
White Rabbit
White Rabbit took 23d place in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants. That’s already impressive enough, but its view also stands out. White Rabbit is located beneath a glass dome on the 16th floor of Smolenskiy Passage. In the evening, a stunning view of the city is guaranteed, but make sure to reserve well in advance to get a table near the window.
Vladimir Mukhin, White Rabbit’s chef, makes Russian cuisine in line with the latest trends and using local products. Guests are usually delighted with the Chef's Table—evenings when Mukhin and other chefs from the restaurant present special menus. If you want to taste unusual combinations like borsch with carp or ice cream made from traditional black bread, this place is for you.
3 Smolenskaya square, 16th floor
Karlsson astonishes visitors with unbelievable views of the Kremlin and Moscow's historical center. The restaurant is especially pleasant in the summer when the veranda is open. The restaurant’s brand chef, Carlo Grecu from Italy, prepares Mediterranean cuisine. Try the risotto with king crab and avocado mousse.
Ovchinnikovskaya Embankment, 20/1, BC "Central City Tower"
Buono restaurant is located on the 29th and 30th floors of the renovated Ukraina Hotel, the new Radisson Royal, which is located in one of Moscow’s seven famous skyscrapers. Most of the seats are lined along panoramic windows on a covered terrace, providing a breathtaking view of the city. Another thing that attracts guests' attention is the wooden pizza oven. As you might have already guessed, Buono’s chef, Christian Lorenzini, specializes in classic Italian cuisine. Try the scallops with fresh spinach, green asparagus, morels and truffle sauce.
You might also want to visit one more restaurant in the same building—the rather more brutal Mercedes Bar, situated on the 31st floor. In Mercedes Bar, Christian Lorenzini prepares dishes based on the top hits of modern European cuisine.
2/1 Kutuzovsky Ave., Bld. 1, Hotel Radisson Royal
Seventh Heaven Restaurant
This restaurant is located around 330 meters above ground in the Ostankino TV Tower. It was opened in 1967 but closed for reconstruction following a fire in 2000. It finally reopened in 2016.
The restaurant complex covers three floors. In order to get there, you need to buy a ticket to the observation point. Then choose where to eat: in a bistro, cafe or restaurant. The tables stand on a platform that rotates in 40-minute intervals, showing you Moscow from a bird’s-eye view. The different dining options vary in terms of menu, price and interior decoration. Chef Andrey Gurko is guaranteed to complement the views with equally impressive gastronomic adventures.
Ul. Academician Korolev, 15, building 2.

8 Yacht Clubs and Marinas in the Philippines to Moor Your Boat In
FoodfindsAsia.com | 8 Yacht Clubs and Marinas in the Philippines to Moor Your Boat In | Filipinos’ history as a maritime people date back to prehistoric times. In fact, the Philippines’ basic sociopolitical unit today, the barangay, traces its etymological origins to the balangay , the ancient outrigger boats that were used by precolonial Filipino communities to explore and conquer islands this side of the Pacific. As a people belonging to a seafaring culture, it’s no wonder that modern Filipinos are taking a retrospective look at their glorious past as Austronesian mariners and are developing a renewed love for the ocean and marinas as present-day yachtsmen.
Today, Philippine marinas look to accommodate more and more yachts and other pleasure watercrafts as the years go by. In 2017, an ASEAN Briefing op-ed piece named the Philippines as a country with high potential in yacht industry growth. The natural beauty of the Philippine islands and its fantastic bays, combined with a growing interest in leisurely sea travel, can explain the spike in yachting activities throughout the country.
Are you part of the demographic that’s become enamored of the yachting lifestyle? Do you want to know where in the country you can berth your watercraft? Leading sailboat and motorboat authority Europa Yachts is happy to enter the conversation, and recommends the following locations for discovering the Philippines through yachting. Here is a short list of clubs and marinas in the country, organized by island region.
Manila Yacht Club and Marina, Manila, Metro Manila
Established in 1927, the Manila Yacht Club and Marina is one of the oldest yacht clubs in all of Asia, and is nestled in the scenic Manila Bay. It is also near other well-known landmarks in the city, such as the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), the headquarters of the Philippine Navy, and the US Embassy. Facilities in the marina include a launching ramp and a fueling center, and the club itself is host to a restaurant and gorgeous function rooms. The Manila Yacht Club only welcomes visitors who arrive by boat, and it charges an initial security deposit of USD 750 upon arrival. Club membership is mandatory for medium and long-term mooring of boats.
Subic Bay Yacht Club, Zambales
The Subic Bay Yacht Club, which was founded in 1998, upholds itself as the country’s premier yacht club. It operates in the deepest bay in the country, and can host vessels well beyond 50 meters in length. Already benefitting from the innate beauty of the Zambales mountains surrounding it, the club hosts a number of other attractions, including its luxury accommodations, swimming pools, and its own movie theater, bowling alley, and nightclub. Those who venture outside of the club’s premises can also shop for well-priced imported goods at the Subic Freeport Zone, engage in water sports , or sign up for diving excursions.
Punta Fuego Yacht Club, Batangas
Peaceful Punta Fuego is a mecca for those who love the sport of sailing. As per its official website, the Punta Fuego Yacht Club aims to serve “a dynamic and vibrant community of boat enthusiasts and yacht owners.” This it does by playing host to a diverse population of watercrafts, from large catamarans and mono-hull yachts to small boats. Non-members of the club may use the berths for up to 3 weeks, and can refuel at the marina’s fueling station. The yacht club offers other amenities such as locker rooms, shower rooms, Internet facilities, a chart room, and a restaurant called Barracuda Bar, which serves delicious fares. Outside of the yachting crowd, Punta Fuego Yacht Club also caters to those wishing to celebrate weddings, conferences, and corporate events in their opulent quarters.
Puerto Galera Yacht Club, Oriental Mindoro
Further south, yachtsmen may moor at the Puerto Galera Yacht Club in Oriental Mindoro, an island location that’s home to tourist attractions like the Sabang Wreck dive site, lively beachfront resorts, and the Malasimbo Music Festival. Puerto Galera Yacht Club has been in operation for almost thirty years and lends services such as refueling provisions and yacht repairs from its marina. Boat owners also enjoy optimal convenience if mooring here, as they can also shop for spare parts in the nearby Batangas port.
Busuanga Yacht Club, Puerta del Sol Bay Marina, Palawan
Beautiful Palawan is a bucket-list destination for many, especially those who dream of cruising its crystalline waters. Accommodating the yachting community in this island province is the Busuanga Yacht Club, which promises secure mooring amidst breathtaking white-sand beaches. Here, each vessel will benefit from a typhoon-safe harbor, easy refueling, and direct access to transportation hubs like the New Busuanga Airport. Adjoining this marina is the Puerta del Sol Bay Resort, which offers luxurious accommodations to visitors. When not atop the deck of a boat, travelers can also explore the lagoons and freshwater lakes of Coron, go shipwreck diving, or relax in the hot springs of Maquinit.
Iloilo Sailing Club, Arevelo, Iloilo City, Iloilo
Iloilo Province is home to some of the country’s most beautiful old-world architecture, a flourishing ecotourism industry, and delectably fresh seafood cuisine. What will round off an unforgettable visit to Iloilo, however, is an excursion to the Iloilo Sailing Club on a leisure watercraft. The club accepts visitors and encourages membership in the case of medium and long-stay mooring. It also hosts a number of amenities and activities, including a dinghy storage, a beach bar and restaurant, and classes for those who want to learn about sailing. In recent months, the Iloilo Sailing Club has also been a convenient meet-up point for big maritime events, such as the Iloilo-Guimaras Paraw Regatta and the Seafarers’ Job Fair.
Cebu Yacht Club, Mactan Island, Cebu
The historic Mactan Island in Cebu was the site of Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan’s arrival in the Philippines. Now known as a commercial hub that hosts a prolific furniture and musical instruments industries, Mactan is also the location of the Cebu Yacht Club, an institution that is beloved by the locals. Aside from being an ideal spot to restock on much-needed fuel and supplies, the Cebu Yacht Club is also a trusted club to commission for boat repairs. There’s a good vibe in this club for everybody, as it sports both luxury accommodations and a waterfront strip of restaurants that laid-back diners can frequent. MINDANAO
Holiday Oceanview Marina, Samal Island, Davao del Norte
The Holiday Oceanview Marina is a major attraction of Samal Island in Davao del Norte Province, one that welcomes Filipino and foreign yachtsmen alike to moor within its premises. The space is quite roomy, in fact, with 56 berths that can fit vessels up to 15 meters in length. The club also has a boat ramp that can accommodate boats up to 18 meters in length. The well-guarded and weather-safe marina is a gateway to some of Mindanao’s finest attractions, such as the Pearl Farm, Hagimit Falls, and Giant Clam Sanctuary.
There’s no better way to discover the Philippines from end to end than getting onboard a seaworthy vessel and going on a long cruise, with stops in some of the most beautiful places in the country. Find a safe harbor in any of these major clubs and marinas, and participate in the renaissance of sailing in the Philippines.
