SeaDream Yacht Club returning to Norway in 2026

CruiseMapper logo

SeaDream Yacht Club is set to make a return to Norway in 2026, doubling the number of voyages compared to 2025.

This expansion decision follows the unprecedented success of the boutique cruise line's 2025 itineraries in Norway, which sold out 2+ years in advance.

The 2026 program will feature late-night departures, overnight stays in key ports like Alesund or Lofoten Islands , and durations ranging from 7 to 11 nights. The two highlighted itineraries are Trollfjord & Lofoten Islands and Yachting The Norwegian Fjords. The voyages will be operated by the recently upgraded SeaDream II .

Atle Brynestad (the company's Founder, Owner, and Chairman) expressed enthusiasm, stating:

"The demand for 2025 surpassed our wildest imaginations. We are thrilled to return in 2026 with even more ways to experience the unparalleled beauty of Norway. This is a perfect destination for small-ship experiences, and there is simply no better way to enjoy the true beauty of Norway than by yachting."

SeaDream Yacht Club recently announced the rehiring of Mark Schmitt as the Sales Director for the UK and Ireland, with a focus on expanding distribution channels, including the charter business, and fostering and growing trade relationships.

SeaDream Yacht Club is returning to Norway in 2026. The luxury brand is more than doubling the number of voyages and offering more opportunities to experience one-of-a-kind yachting adventures in some of the world’s most spectacular waters.

Following the overwhelming success of the 2025 Norway voyages, which sold out at a record-breaking pace more than two years in advance, the boutique luxury cruise line SeaDream Yacht Club has responded to the unprecedented demand by enhancing the presence in Norway in the summer of 2026.

“The demand for 2025 surpassed our wildest imaginations. We are thrilled to return in 2026, with even more ways to experience the unparalleled beauty of Norway,” said Atle Brynestad , founder, owner, and chairman of SeaDream Yacht Club.

Hand-picked gems

The series of voyages, ranging from 7 to 11 nights, will include close encounters with nature, scenic sailing through dramatic fjords, late-night departures, overnight stays in storied locations such as Ålesund or Lofoten Islands, and visits to small communities and secluded yachting harbors inaccessible to bigger ships.

“This is our home ground, and we take great pride in inviting our guests to explore Norway with us. With our small-ship approach, we aim to lead by example in promoting a distinct, more sustainable alternative to mass-tourism, that benefit both our guests and the destinations we visit”, said Brynestad, who was personally involved in crafting the itineraries.

As with the sold-out 2025 voyages, the 2026 season will be operated by the newly upgraded SeaDream II. On board, guests can relax and unwind in understated elegance, with the award-winning SeaDream service of 1-1 crew-to-guest ratio, 5-star al-fresco dining, and an intimate open-air ambiance personalized to meet the expectations of the perfect yachting experience.

Two distinct itineraries

Trollfjord & Lofoten Islands

A total of six extended 11-day voyages between Oslo and Tromsø takes guests on adventures above the Arctic Circle into the land of the midnight sun. In addition to spectacular scenic fjords – including the dramatically narrow Trollfjord – guests will experience small communities, close encounters with nature, and in-depth exploration of the Lofoten Islands, including an overnight stay in Reine. Other highlights include picturesque Olden, Vik, Rosendal and Bergen – as well as fabled Skagen, Denmark.

Yachting the Norwegian Fjords

Continuing the success of the sold-out 2025 season, SeaDream Yacht Club will continue to offer the immensely popular 7-day Yachting the Norwegian Fjords voyages. These carefully curated itineraries will emphasize the benefits of  yachting in some of the most spectacular waters on the planet – through fjords, inlets, and quaint villages. Several late-evening departures ensure ample time to explore ashore and interact with the communities visited, such as Rosendal, Vik, Ålesund and Kalvåg. Other highlights include spectacular Vik and Olden, Måløy, and Skagen in Denmark.

Spectacular European start

Before venturing to Norway, SeaDream II starts her 2026 European season with the  8-day Portugal, Spain & France Discovery  from Lisbon to Bordeaux, that includes an overnight in Vigo, Spain, foodie favorites Bilbao and San Sebastian, Spain, as well as the picturesque fishing village of Saint-Jean-de-Luz, France.

SeaDream Yacht Club Completes First Cruise Back

SeaDream Yacht Club has resumed sailing on SeaDream I , embarking this week on the first of a schedule of 7-day and 12-day Norwegian sailings with itineraries selected by SeaDream founder Atle Brynestad…and, on Saturday, SeaDream 2 joins in the fun!

But don’t get too excited yet…these no-doubt magical Norwegian fjord sailings are, as of now, open only to citizens of Norway, Denmark and Finland.

We are so happy to welcome our guests onboard our first Norwegian voyage! Looking forward to breathtaking destinations and an unforgettable SeaDream experience 🇳🇴 #seadream #happy #luxurytravel pic.twitter.com/g0EqI3Z8fc — SeaDream Yacht Club (@SeaDreamYC) June 20, 2020

“We are very proud to be the first luxury line to resume operations. Our preparation has paid off as we are able to maintain the experience of luxury onboard while ensuring everyone’s health, comfort, and safety,” said SeaDream Yacht Club CEO and Founder Andreas Brynestad.  “Everyone around the world has been affected by the health crisis. This historic moment feels like good news not just to our team, but our industry as a whole.”

When the global pandemic took hold, SeaDream Yacht Club joined in the pause, repositioning its two 4,253 grt, 112-passenger yachts in Lisbon, most crew opting to remain aboard to tend to maintenance and upkeep.   Just about a month ago, when Norway (Brynestad’s home country) cleared the way for small ship sailings to resume, the Norwegian itineraries were announced by the nimble, debt-free family-owned line and enthusiastically received by existing (and some new!) Norwegian SeaDream fans.

The sailings will continue through September 21 st so with Norway planning to open its borders on July 15 th , perhaps there’s hope that the line’s fans from other parts of the world might be able to experience Norway, SeaDream style.

Is SeaDream ready?  They always have been.

SeaDream Yacht Club has not had one case of Covid 19 among crew or passengers aboard either of its yachts. All surfaces touched by guests have always been regularly sanitized aboard each yacht and staterooms have always had their own air circulation and filtration system.

New procedures, however, include a health declaration and temperature check for all passengers, screening of all crew members, along with an added blood test to be taken the day prior to departure from their home city, along with temperature, oxygen saturation and pulse rate checks prior to embarkation.  Selections from the breakfast and lunch buffets that supplement the full menus offered will be served by attendants, with no passenger in contact with utensils at any time.

Low COVID-19 Rates in Norway

As a country, Norway fared better than most when it came to stopping the spread of COVID-19. The country saw just under 9,000 cases and only 249 confirmed deaths from the virus. That contributed to SeaDream’s confidence in their ability to cruise the country’s coastline safely. The destinations were hand-picked by Mr. Brynestad and included smaller ports where larger ships cannot go.

Hello from Norway onboard SeaDream I! We are so happy to be the first luxury line sailing again. Our crew is delighted to welcome guests back onboard. The SeaDream family is together again! #Norge #Norway #luxurytravel #luxury #yachting pic.twitter.com/GnkVrQiY1h — SeaDream Yacht Club (@SeaDreamYC) June 25, 2020

Congratulations, SeaDream Yacht Club on being the first luxury line to return to the sea!

How I wish I was aboard, enjoying your award-winning service and amazing cuisine.  How I wish I was sleeping under the stars atop a Balinese Dream Bed or playing with the water toys from your water sports marina.  How I wish I was sipping champagne or a cocktail from your open bar or indulging in your Dessert Extravaganza.

How I wish I was Norwegian….

SeaDream Yacht Club to Sail to Norway in June 2020

SeaDream Yacht Club to Sail to Norway in June 2020

After pausing voyages in March, SeaDream Yacht Club has revealed plans to begin sailing in Norway in June 2020. SeaDream Yacht Club has announced it is now accepting reservations for 9 new 2020 Norwegian voyages. The newly unveiled voyages, kicking off June 2020 through September, include hand-picked destinations by SeaDream’s Norwegian founder and owner, Atle Brynestad.

As the COVID-19 pandemic developed, SeaDream was able to avoid contamination thanks to stringent sanitation procedures, excellent medical infrastructure on board, and the crew’s professionalism. However, the company decided to pause operations because of travel restrictions. The Yachts were repositioned to Lisbon where the crew choosing to stay on board have been busy doing maintenance and upgrades. The installation of a basketball hoop by the pool deck, yoga, and other activities have kept them busy and active. The Chefs have spent the time coming up with new dishes, and the deck crew has painted, replaced the teak deck, and performed other maintenance tasks without inconveniencing guests onboard.

For almost 20 years, SeaDream has set its own standards when it comes to service and cleanliness. This has allowed the company to promptly resume sailing safely. SeaDream continues to closely monitor the global health and travel restrictions with the agility to adapt our itineraries as needed.

“It has been very apparent from our frequent video calls with the onboard teams that without our guests, the yachts are simply not the same and that the crew genuinely miss serving our loyal guests,” said SeaDream’s Andreas Brynestad. While SeaDream usually operates in the Caribbean and Mediterranean, the Yachts have been to Norway before. But this time they are going further north past the Arctic Circle so that guests can experience the midnight sun, the spectacular Lofoten Fjords, and Tromsø. “We believe that there is no better way to experience Norway this summer than onboard SeaDream. We know our guests will enjoy the SeaDream experience of casual elegance and gourmet dining accompanied by the most beautiful backdrop in the world. Our yachts offer a naturally healthy, outdoor environment where space, fresh air, and healthy food have always been a central component. We are so excited to be back doing what we do best – bringing our signature SeaDream service to our loyal guests.” said Andreas Brynestad.

The newly-announced voyages include two options: a 7-day voyage to Bergen and a 12-day voyage with 3 days in Lofoten, one of Norway’s premier destinations. SeaDream’s voyages are unlike any other luxury travel experience. With an onboard lifestyle that exemplifies casual yachting, SeaDream sails to some of the region’s smallest ports and harbors, affording guests the opportunity to feel as if they are on their own private escape.

Norwegian itinerary highlights include:

  • Bergen – Known to Norwegians as “the Heart of the Fjords”, Bergen is the second-largest city in Norway. Two 7-day voyages will embark in Bergen and disembark in Oslo, with a third voyage embarking in Oslo and disembarking in Bergen. Additionally, all six of the 12-day voyages will offer opportunities to explore Bergen’s houses on hillsides, cobblestone alleys, and world-renowned gastronomy.
  • Olden – A small village located at the mouth of the Oldeelva river, Olden is Norway’s gateway to the glaciers. SeaDream guests will have the opportunity to explore its steep mountains and roaring waterfalls as well as many historic sites on all nine voyages.
  • Ålesund - SeaDream guests will delight in the Art Nouveau architecture and scenic landscapes of this town which stretches across several islands in the Atlantic Ocean. This destination is included in all nine of SeaDream’s new Norwegian itineraries.
  • Lofoten – A long-beloved summer destination for Norwegians, the Lofoten Islands are draped across the Norwegian Sea, far above the Arctic Circle. SeaDream guests onboard the 12-day voyages will enjoy 3 days in Lofoten filled with unforgettable views of majestic mountains, breathtaking fjords, and surf-swept beaches while basking in up to 24 hours of sunlight per day.
  • Additional new ports in the new itineraries include Geiranger, Flam, Rosendal, Skagen, Rorvk, and Tromso.

These new Norwegian voyages will be enhanced by an expansive selection of new and exciting Yachting Land Adventures to ensure guests have the opportunity to experience the best each port has to offer with one-of-a-kind adventures.

The SeaDream experience is known for its personalized, award-winning service, 5-star cuisine, intimate ports and exceptional onboard features such as the Balinese Dream Beds to sleep under the stars and the Watersports Marina complete with water toys for the perfect yachting vacation.
