WE SPECIALIZE IN BOAT PLANS FOR AMATEUR BUILDERS

We provide stock boat plans for both monohull and multihull sailing vessels, including sailing skiffs and sharpies. Our designs mainly feature timber construction, in plywood or cedar strip plank composite construction, using the W.E.S.T. system (wood epoxy saturation technique). Our designs are intended mainly as cruising boats, although several have done well in racing. All designs are suitable for amateur boat builders.

The distinctive design of the Queensland Moreton Bay cruisers and the Halvorsen cruisers from NSW has been incorporated into this motor launch commissioned from our Sydney based naval architect David Payne. With many appropriate semi-protected waterways around Australia, this is an ideal boat for the leisurely weekend and holiday cruising.

The result has been a boat featuring a high bow to ride over the waves rather than punch through them, a fine deep Vee entry to soften the ride, and a good straight run aft for optimum planning performance. The high bow with its good reserve buoyancy also prevents nosedives in the following sea. The Oceaneer has a fully self-draining cockpit floor, supported by buoyancy foam as an important additional safety feature, making the boat unsinkable.

It has all the features of much larger boats, cleverly designed into a compact economical craft.. The boat is also available as a comfortable live-aboard power cat. It will have particular appeal to both private owners, and to hire fleet operators seeking a small economical easily handled boat. The vessel, from multi-hull designer Ashley Holliday, is based on the highly efficient Thruster hull form. These narrow, low resistance hulls are very easily driven, and with their long waterline, they provide exceptional stability and performance.

All Roger Simpson’s designs are good all round boats, strong, seaworthy and comfortable with out being the fastest boat on the water, they certainly are not disgraced either. quite easy to sail short handed and sails reasonably well in light airs .

Add Good sea keeping abilities, comfortable interior without being a floating unit, ability to actually sail and to be reliable and safe. These boats are well known in the Southern Oceans and well respected worldwide.

Here are some upcoming Lagoon availabilities for 2022/23 season:

Lagoon 40 – Available in May 2023

The Lagoon 40 model has quickly become an international success story for Lagoon . It is perfect for outdoor living, equipped with a comfortable cockpit, a starboard dining table and accommodation for up to 12 guests. Large aft transoms provide a spacious swim platform that allows for simple access to the tender and safe, easy boarding. A forward cockpit, fitted with a sunbathing area, provides further living space.

Lagoon 42 – Available in November 2022

The much loved and ever popular  Lagoon 42  is sleek and modern, with curvaceous and flowing exterior lines penned by French designers VPLP. She is fast and easy to handle thanks to a clever deck layout that moves the mast further from the aft. The self-tacking jib sail also provides ease of handling. An optional hard top bimini provides protection from the sun, with a sliding panel that ensures great views of the sails above. Newly designed wide stairs decked in teak lead down from the transom to the water, making boarding easy and perfect for getting in and out of the sea.

Lagoon 46 – Available in May 2023

The Lagoon 46  offers a spacious cockpit and a versatile flybridge, perfectly combining easy handling and relaxation areas. On the flybridge, the helming station affords both protection and great visibility, whilst the main deck has a large cockpit table and easy access to the galley. The Lagoon 46 promotes relaxation with large modular sunbeds and quality deck equipment. It is the perfect yacht for local or long-distance cruising and with over 700 units sold since 2020 it is a tried and tested favourite catamaran with buyers around the world.

Lagoon 51 – Available in March 2024

The latest new model from Lagoon, the  Lagoon 51  was only revealed last month and its design focuses on an improved layout for the saloon and flybridge with more comfort and ease of circulation. Now with a choice of interior layouts from 4 to 6 cabins, the yacht is ideal for both family or charter use. The flybridge is huge and maximised to occupy 80% of the roof with two large sunpads at the front of the helm station and a huge C-shaped seating area. When moored up, the large bathing platform delivers an invitation to swim and relax in comfort and safety.
