A catamaran is usually 2-4 times the investment of a single hull sailing yacht, but we believe it's worth it!
Two hulls means double the space. Two hulls also make for a much smoother sailing experience (important for those nervous passengers or guests prone to travel sickness). Two hulls are joined with a huge trapeze, which affords guests the best sailing experience where you feel like you are 'flying over the waves'. There are dedicated sun loungers which allow you to enjoy the sail in total luxury!
On board there is a fully equipped Galley, 3 toilets and lots of space for guests to change or shower (please bring your towels from the hotel).

Just off the Turkish coast, the Dodecanese island of Rhodes has seen its own fair share of history over the Millennia. Home to many relics of Ancient Greece, Rhodes Island (the largest island in the Dodecanese) is now a bustling holiday hotspot, especially during the sailing season between April and October. Rhodes Town is fun throughout the year with its excellent tavernas, restaurants and nightclubs, and you can enjoy the idyllic beaches across the island - some only accessible by boat.
With Mandraki Marina your yacht charter base on Rhodes Island, you can join your luxury yacht soon after flying into the island's airport. You may wish to explore the Greek island by sea a little or head off to other sailing destinations in this island group such as Symi, Tilos, Nisiros and Kos, all of which share the quintessentially Dodecanese island culture and outlook.
Thanks to the excellent sailing conditions in the warmer months and good direct flight connections to much of Europe, Rhodes is widely held as the perfect yacht charter holiday destination among yacht charter enthusiasts. The steady NE winds during the sailing season make for reliable sailing, while the archaeology both above and below the waves are a big draw. Those after a sandy beach will have no end of choice, while those who like to go mountain biking and walking, perhaps up a volcanic island, will find lots on offer too. For your ideal yacht rental, you won't find much to compete with a Rhodes catamaran charter!
Crewed Catamaran Charters from Rhodes
You don't need to worry about qualifications or even sailing the boat in the Dodecanese Island chain with Borrow a Boat! A Rhodes crewed catamaran charter on a motor yacht or sailing catamaran can mean you do as much or as little physically sailing the yacht as you like on your yacht charter vacation.
A skippered yacht charter or cabin charter will mean that the skipper will be aboard with their own cabin to attend to all your needs. A crewed yacht charter will involve one or two crew on the gulet charter who will cook, sail and make suggestions as to your best destinations on your sailing itinerary. With their local knowledge, even if you're an experienced sailor you can enjoy a perfect yacht charter holiday.
One of the advantages of a crewed yacht charter vacation is that you can go longer distances from the yacht charterbase. The Saronic Islands are within reach, as are the Cyclades and indeed Crete.
As to you? You can just enjoy the breezes and views, or if you fancy learning a bit about sailing, help the skipper or crew to get the boat from A-B.
A Rhodes crewed yacht charter will cost a little more (typically €150 a day for a skipper and €100 per crew member) and it's the done thing to thank them with a tip at the end of the week.
Bareboat Catamaran Charter From Rhodes
A bareboat yacht charter vacation will mean that you can take the charter yacht out on your own. Generally for vessels up to 20 metres LOA on a sailing license such as an RYA Day Skipper or ASA 104 Bareboat certificate, you will have total responsibility for the yacht.
You will need to think about your itinerary, victualling, possible secondary ports should a marina be full, as well as issues like weather and mooring fees.
On a bareboat catamaran charter you will be asked to pay for insurance in the form of a security deposit to the chartercompany on departure or through buying charter insurance before you leave the yacht charter base.

Typically far more luxurious than a sailboat, the larger catamarans have en suite toilets and showers in the cabin as well as ample entertaining space in the saloon and on deck.
Power Catamarans: These motor yacht catamarans are relatively new but have also been gaining in popularity as the two hulls keep the boat more stable when compared to a monohull. The wider beam of these motor boats also mean more deck space and as they don't have sails or a mast, they have a lot more space on deck than a sailing catamaranrental or monohull. For a luxury catamaran charter, consider taking a crewed catamaran charter sailing vacation with an experienced skipper.
Catamaran Sailing Itineraries From Rhodes
On your crewed catamaran boat rental or bareboat charter sailing vacation you can explore the Dodecanese island group to your heart's content. Here we suggest a 7 day sailing holiday and a 14 day yacht charter holiday on your charter boat:
7 Days - Kos and smaller islands: On your yacht charter vacation from your charter base at Mandraki Marina, you will island hop north towards Kos at the mid-point. The smaller islands of Chalki and Tilos will be your first two evening destinations, and then two days on Kos itself. Nisiros and then Symi close to the Turkish coast will be your next evenings ashore before returning to Rhodes Town for handover.
14 Days - Cyclades and Dodecanese: Over these two weeks afloat on your boat rental you will head out to Naxos and Paros in the Cyclades island group as your mid-point. Stopping at Tilos and Asypalea for your first two evenings you then head to the Cyclades islands of Amorgos, Paxos and then Paros. The beautiful island of Antiparos is world renowned for the cuisine here, and with a full belly (and possibly a sore head!), head to the somewhat quieter Ios the next day. Anofi will be your next island destination, and then back into the Dodecanese island group to Karpathos to the south of Rhodes. Halki and Symi will be your next evenings ashore and then back to Rhodes Town for handover.
Do You Need A Licence To Charter A Catamaran In Rhodes?
If you are on a skippered catamaran charter you do not need a license to sail out of Rhodes, you can just turn up at the marina and go.
You do need a license if you are on a bareboat catamaran charter and in some countries such as Greece a day skipper or ICC may not be enough for boats over 45 feet in length, you will need to check with the charter agent but here are some examples of typical sailing qualifications that will allow you to charter in most countries:
International Certificate of Competence: This is issued on request by your European sailing authority and you should automatically qualify with certain national sailing qualifications.
RYA Qualifications: If you have the following qualifications you will typically be able to take a bareboat charter out of Rhodes (but it is worth checking as per above), these include Day Skipper (sail or motor endorsement), Coastal Skipper or Yachtmaster.
American Sailing Association (ASA): The ASA 104 Bareboat certificate is commonly accepted but also check as per above
US Sailing : The International Proficiency Certificate is widely accepted and The Bareboat Cruising Certificate is also accepted in many cases.

I was here in Rhodes on vacation with my girlfriend, we are in our early 20s. We had a great day trip with a good humored and accommodating crew! You see a beautiful coastline from the sea side and are taken to great snorkeling and swimming spots. Along the way you are provided with drinks and an excellent lunch that is freshly cooked on the catamaran. Super great arrangement by Faliraki tours travel agency, punctual transfer to the catamaran and back, a souvenir photo by the owner there was also! Highly recommended for all ages, the trip is worth every penny!
Me and my boyfriend were in Rhodes for a short time and wanted to see as much as the island as possible. We looked at several tours but eventually decided on the Cruise by Catamaran as it was so easy to book online and we were able to do it . We’re so glad we did! The value for money is exceptional, with all your drink (alcoholic and soft available) included and a wonderful Traditional Greek lunch of salad, chicken, risotto, and cheese available. The boat itself is a great vessel with loads of space, and the crew are very careful with distancing. The stops chosen by the captain were great and we enjoyed the swimming immensely. Sunbathing on the front of the vessel was a complete highlight. The crew were amazing, a huge thank you for looking after us. When we return to Rhodes we will certainly book again!
