Newly renovated. Looks great with deck overlooking the water. Great caterer, Bon Soir. Really great location with plenty of parking too. They sell gas and diesel for the boats. New carpets and paint in dining room and bar. New furniture in bar. Looks really improved. Food has always been good.

Nice vantage of the waterfront in Nyc. Feels more like the countryside.

Hudson Water Club

Ratings and reviews, location and contact.

We had a family group of 18 yesterday at the Hudson Water Club to celebrate my Dads 80th birthday. We did not have a formal “private party” just a large reservation of 18 people. Everything was wonderful and our group ranging in ages from 6... years old to 84 years old all had a very enjoyable time. These days are very challenging for restaurants due to staffing challenges and yesterday there was a son the added challenge of 100 degrees real feel temp along with heavy thunderstorms. Monica and her team worked though all the issues and our party of folks had a memorable event. We also had some special menu requests along with a delayed arrival but Monica made sure all worked out great. Thank you Monica and the HWC team!! More

The service was good, atmosphere enjoyable. But if the angus burger is enticing you, and you like it other than well done, check with the help to see if the cook can fulfill your order as requested. I tried to get a medium burger and... and got a dried out well done burger. Disappointing and terrible. Also the Oriental Salad with Salmon—not as described. Dressing not what on menu, salmon unevenly cooked. So $50+ not well spent on these 2 items. Choose wisely and check with server so can send back if needed. More

A lovely restaurant with magnificent views. The food is really good and the entire staff could not be more accommodating. The one drawback is that the bar only serves bottled beer. Time to grow the beer selection!

They weren’t quite poor, really, but they aren’t average either, so note that the true rating is somewhere between poor and average! View is great, of course, but the food needs work. Party of four, we ordered guac, chicken wings and fried calamari for apps.... The chips were stale, the guac pretty flavorless, but well presented, the calamari was full of tentacles, well, yuch! Grilled chicken sandwich was good, the bread was fresh and seasoned well. Husband had the beer battered fish sandwich which was huge and tasty. They could have really good food there as some things work but others don’t. It is pricey, and, as we all know, we have to pay for the great setting, but they are charging a good buck for some sub-par food. They do some things well, but not everything. They have work to do! Wait staff were great, friendly and polite. More

I resisted going to the Hudson Water Club because many items on the menu are expensive by my budget's standards. Went in late August 2020 with a group of friends and reversed my opinion. Our group ordered the individual pizzas and the burger with fries.... All were good, and my 10-ounce Angus burger was extremely filling. I had read in reviews that the fries were so-so, but mine were excellent. Our server was pleasant and helpful. He did not pressure us to order items we did not want. He brought us the club's herb quick bread, explaining that it comes with the meal. It was very tasty. The night we visited was sunny and mild. It was a pleasure to sit out on the deck and see the boats passing by on the Hudson. We all enjoyed our visit and I look forward to going again next summer. More

Went on a Saturday night, there were 7 of us , as soon as we sat down I noticed the tables were sticky. Our server was helpful, but was dressed shabbily. Appetizer weren't bad,as for the meals everyone was disappointed. The stuff sole was cold... the rizzuto on the scallops was at best eatable. We ordered Cappuccino, and it obviously came out of a machine we sent it back. The were deserts weren't fresh. On the way the pizza man was practically asleep on the counter. Our group won't be back and yes overpriced. More

My sister had her wedding here this past weekend. I have never been to a more disorganized wedding in my life. When the bridal party arrived no one knew where we should go because they were cleaning up from the party before. We sat on... picnic benches in 90 degree heat. After photos were done, about 30 minutes before the ceremony was about to start, we were told we could not order any drinks until 5pm. We asked for water... that took 15 minutes to get. I finally walked over myself and poured water for myself and my family. When we were finally seated the waiter dropped an entire tray of water next to me and my son. It took 45 minutes for each round of drinks to get to our table. The food was bland, definitely all frozen. Do not have your wedding or any even here. The staff can not handle the regular guests and will make your entire wedding party and your guests feel like they are just regular patrons having dinner... which also isn’t saying much. I hadn’t been here in over 20 years and now I know why. More

We went with a group of 9, had an outdoor table near the water. The staff were pleasant, the pre-dinner drinks were nice. All of the appetizers and entree's were perfectly prepared and delicious - all of us were delighted! A bit pricey, but everything... was EXCELLENT! More

Great views sitting by the water on the outdoor patio make you feel like you’re on vacation. Food is mediocre at best, and prices are steep, but no one is here for the food. Enjoy a few drink and the sound of the waves, skip... the food, and you’ll be happy. More

I live quite local to this place and have been here for dinner and/or drinks a few times already. If the sun is shining it's a decent venue. That said, I shan't be going back again. Here's why. Went for dinner on Sunday 8th September,... along with my girlfriend. Ordered a bottle of wine, salad and a platter to start, with Salmon and Scallop risotto as entree's. To start with service was ok. Wine came, as did starters. Platter was good salad was ok. Though my girlfriend commented that the salad was expensive for what it was. Entree's came in reasonable time and although my salmon wasn't great, it was acceptable and it would have to be very poor for me to say anything. I'm British and complaining about food isn't in my psyche. However, my GF's risotto was cold, though the first of the 4 scallops were good. She asked the server to take the risotto away and heat it up quickly, but could they not cook the scallops any further as they were fine. The server suggested she put the scallops on a side plate and keep them as the risotto would be back very quickly, handed her the side plate and took the risotto away. So far, so good. At this point the server went MIA and so did the risotto. It went, but it never returned. At which point I have finished my dinner entirely and my GF had decided to eat the 3 remaining scallops off the side plate. When the server returned - about 12 minutes later - she apologised that he risotto had been forgotten about, but it wasn't her fault! Anyway, she asked if my GF wanted a dessert as compensation, which was a decent gesture. My GF suggested that she didn't want a sweet, her preference would be for her risotto. The server didn't offer to bring the risotto nor to replace it with any other entree. She simply went away and brought us the cheque after having asked the "manager", who told her to knock $4 off the bill. Though they had decided to leave the $29.99 scallop risotto on the bill. So, i asked the server if she would ask the manager to join me, which she duly did. She introduced herself as the manager and when I enquired as to her name she said Monica. I explained the situation and that my GF didn't ge't her entree after it was taken away and that i was therefore unhappy to pay for it and that $4 off the bill was an unacceptable response from any reputable restaurant in my opinion. She should have offered either a risotto or an alternative entree. Monica's response was that she was not authorised to credit the entree, which seemed a ridiculous comment given she said she was the manager. But, she would credit the salad. My response to which was that I said the salad was fine and i want to pay for the salad. The risotto was the issue. We didn't get the risotto in effect and so i was unhappy at paying for it. She was adamant that the bill stood and that she was trying to help. but i wouldn't meet her halfway. I reiterated that I was happy to pay for the wine, the starters and my entree. I would even tip the server, though she didn't deserve it. What I wasn't happy to pay for was the entree that we didn't have. It was their error, they served it cold, they took it away and they forgot about it. Take it off the bill and we are happy. She refused once again saying and I quite "she ate the scallops. All she is missing is her starch" So i will only credit the $4." Any sane person would just laugh at such a ridiculous comment, but by now I was getting annoyed at Monica's attutude. I was the customer, they had screwed up the risotto and then taken it away and having never returned it they insist on charging for it! Not in my world they won't. After I refused to move on this, and said if you insist on charging me for it them I will simply take it off any tip Monica snatched the bill from me, walked off and then sent it back with the risotto duly removed. So, i paid the bill and tipped the server 30 bucks on a $91 bill, just to emphasise the point that this was not about the money, it was about the principle. When i handed the bill and the money to the server, and I commented that I was unhappy about how I had been treated the server commented that she hoped it wasnt reflected in her tip!!!!! I just smiled, shook my head and walked away, never to return. So in summary, if you go here and you are fortunate enough to have a good experience then you may enjoy it, though the food is mediocre at best and the wine list is very restricted. havig read a few other reviews since last sunday it appears that the service is patchy at best. Which has been my experience too. I am thinking that these guys need some local competition and maybe they will up their game. Oh, and Monica, if you're reading this, might I suggest a new career might be worthy of your consideration. It seems the customer service element of your role is somewhat lacking. Have a nice day:) More

Was trying to think of a nice place for an early dinner, then I remembered Hudson Water Club. A perfect idea on a beautiful day and right on the Water. (Scroll down to last paragraph for short version under Pros, Cons, Suggestions.) Parking wasn't to... bad. It is a HUGE lot that is there for the Marina, Restaurant and Pool. Walked in with a sign pointing to an outside Hostess Station for all seating. No wait and table for two overlooking the water as requested. We both ordered the Vegetarian (NOT Vegan) Mushroom Bisque, Spinach Raspberry Pecan Feta salad with a White Balsamic Vinaigrette. Main coarse was Pork Shank and Jumbo Rum Glazed Shrimp. EVERYTHING was DELICIOUS. The soup was incredible and topped off with a light cream.Salad was light, enjoyable with plenty of fruit and nuts throughout. Pork Shank was not what I was expecting (silly me). It was an actual bone in Shank, cooked nicely and served upright. See picture with a quick bite. Jumbo Shrimp didn't stay on the plate for long. Chardonnay paired nicely with the Shrimp and a Run Tiki Punch goes great with just about anything. It was nice eating by the water. Very calming and relaxing. Staff was nice and the Staff that handled plate clean up and water glasses never missed a beat. All in all a wonderful time and great food. Pros: Quick seating, water view, great food, pleasant/relaxing atmosphere. Cons: Expect service to be slow. It's a big place and river side seating is a long walk from the Kitchen. Plus many people go here to relax and don't want to feel rushed. The Wait Staff serves accordingly. Suggestions: Even on warm or cloudy days bring a light coat and sunglasses. Sunblock during the day. Sit and relax, this is a no rush spot. More

The view can't be beat. You are literally on the water-- set up above the water line by some stones and concrete. Fabulous. The atmosphere is great-- modern, clean, chic. We have had four meals there-- three very good, one not quite as good as... the other-- hence why I am not giving the restaurant a 5... Service has always been friendly and attentive, and I really appreciate that. For whatever reason, it seems to me that places that have great water views just don't seem to be able to match the view consistently with their food. I wonder why that is? More

My close girlfriends and I went out for dinner one night. The food was pretty average and so was the dessert. If you plan on visiting on a weekend evening, be prepared to compete with noise and rowdy drunkards while eating. Great and beautiful location,... average cuisine, overpriced and the service leaves much to be desired. The menu has many things to choose from if you are lucky enough to get a wait server to take your order. The seats on the outside deck are really uncomfortable also, overall not a good experience and this wasn't the first time either. I will not be returning for sure. More

The Water Club provides good meals, and great views of the Hudson. It is a great place to have a party.

The 10 oz Burger is absolutely delicious! With that said, why does a burger ordered medium rare come out medium well? Since a 10 oz Burger is fairly big, why is there a single Romaine lettuce leaf that measures 1 inch by 3 inches? Why... a single slice of tasteless tomato that's just over 2 inches across? Why even bother? Why are we both halfway finished with our Burgers, and finished with our drinks, before our waitress comes by to ask "Is everything OK?" My second beer took five minutes because the bartender, sunglasses, backwards baseball cap and all, had walked away from the bar. This, with guests at the bar and eight tables filled. Going inside to use the rest room, there were a good half dozen waiters sitting around the dining room, eating, drinking, on their phones. Is there a manage here? Is anyone in charge? More

Executive Chef: Executive Chef Gregory Zapantis' name can be found in the heart of every upscale establishment that elevated Greek cuisine into gastronomical art, including Molos in Weehawken, where he also helms the kitchen. The Yacht Club Offers Waterfront Dining in Edgewater

yacht club entrance

A new seafood restaurant and bar is open in Edgewater, offering casual dining in a relaxing atmosphere. It’s hard to miss The Yacht Club along the Edgewater Commons Shopping Center pier, with its white lighthouse-shaped façade. In terms of location, locals will recall the space previously housing Joe’s Crab Shack.

However, the 13,000-square foot interior is now totally different. It seats 120 in the main dining room; which boasts olive green walls, Greece-imported gold accented furniture, and floor-to-ceiling windows. In addition, the dining room overlooks a deck with water views from all sides. Meanwhile, the private upstairs dining room at The Yacht Club seats 150. Finally, their marble bar can seat another 20, while their lounge with a view seats yet another 30.

The Yacht Club is All About Dinner With a View

But we haven’t even gotten to the outdoor deck yet; this section seats 60 – rain or shine — and offers views of both the Hudson River and Manhattan. “The outdoor setting was designed to resemble a waterfront bar in Europe, from the island-chic light fixtures to the sliding floor to ceiling doors which easily open and close weather permitting,” says The Yacht Club Owner Eliana Stefanitsis; her family also runs the Hudson River Group, which owns Molos in Weehawken .

Like many other businesses, COVID-19 caused a delay in operation. Eliana’s original plan was to open The Yacht Club in April, but wound up waiting until August instead. “We aren’t taking reservations because we want to encourage people to come eat, enjoy the space, and not have to plan in advance,” she says. Likewise, their plan is to accommodate both “people who want to hang out at the bar and enjoy a craft cocktail or families who want to go out to eat.”

The Yacht Club serves American seafood dishes, courtesy of Executive Chef Gregory Zapantis. (Fans of the Hudson River Group will recognize that name from Molos.) To further diversify the menu, the restaurant also employs Sushi Chef Steve Song (previously from Masa in New York City).

As for their signature dishes, The Yacht Club specializes in lobster. With this in mind, it’s no surprise that lobster rolls and the lobster BLT sandwich are big hits. Of course, you can also find salads, tacos, and burgers on the menu. Meanwhile, the full bar menu includes frozen drinks. Their signature cocktail is the Grapefruit Botanical Spritz, with Ketel One grapefruit juice, Aperol liqueur, and club soda.

They also offer gluten-free items such as wild salmon and skirt steak. Eliana points out that vegetarian items are limited for the moment, but they plan to expand on this soon. For now, they can accommodate vegetarian meals by request.

You can visit The Yacht Club at 541 River Rd in Edgewater. For hours, their full menu, and other details, search for The Yacht Club online.

Hudson River Boat & Yacht Club Association

History of the Hudson River Boat & Yacht Club Association

The Hudson River Boat and Yacht Club Association, Inc. (HRBYCA), was established in1975, incorporated in the state of New York in1999 and qualified with the IRS as a not-for-profit business league in 2005. The HRBYCA is organized for the purposes of maintaining a constant study of all things pertinent to the sport of boating and other recreational use of the Hudson River and improving conditions thereon; promoting increased inter-club activity among various clubs on the Hudson River; encouraging and furthering education relative to boating and navigation; cooperating with all government agencies concerned with the management and regulation of the Hudson River; and with boating matters in general.

We have a membership of 36 boat clubs (each independently owned and operated) from Fair Haven, NJ to Marlboro, NY on the West shore and Yonkers to Poughkeepsie on the East shore of the Hudson River, representing about 8,000 individuals.  The HRBYCA also has an alliance with the Upper-Mohawk Council and participates in a Reciprocal Agreement with their member clubs, which benefits boaters from the NYC border to Troy.

The member clubs send representatives to bimonthly general membership meetings that are held at the various clubs; the Board meets in the alternate months.  We have hosted a variety of guest speakers over the years including representatives of the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), the Commissioner of the DEC, representatives from the office of retired State Senator John Flynn of Yonkers, the President of the Upper-Mohawk Council, the Hudson River Fisherman’s Association, the Riverkeeper and the author Lincoln Diamant.

In 1987, Past-President Frank Proft went to Washington, D.C. to address the Senate subcommittee regarding a number of boating problems. The HRBYCA has also worked with the Heritage Task force on problems and property availability that could be used by boaters.

The HRBYCA has sent representatives to Albany on numerous occasions to represent the organization on various boating issues. In the 1990s, the HRBYCA President was granted a seat on the New York Greenway’s Advisory Council and the Estuary Advisory Council, currently occupied by Frank Bergman. Our Vice President, Henry Matheus, is also working with NYS and local police agencies to address the concerns of boaters and yet maintain Homeland Security coverage.

We have been instrumental in helping various clubs obtaining dredging permits, buying materials, etc. HRBYCA members took part in the 1982 Bicentennial celebration with the reenactment of George Washington’s sail down the Hudson from Newburgh to Verplanck Point. More recently, 2009 was the QuadraCentennial celebration and the 400th Anniversary of the Hudson River; President Bergman and several other Board members were involved with state and municipal committees to plan celebrations throughout the anniversary year. The June “River Day” Flotilla accompanied by the HRBYCA Escort of member club boats totaled more than 300 boats from our group; the NY state committee was very pleased with the success and thanked all clubs involved.

Our Italian-made wood fired pizza oven cooks our pies in less than three minutes at a temperature of 800+ degrees. This allows the dough to spring, creating a crust that is crunchy on the outside, yet flaky and airy on the inside, and just a bit of char adds that Delicious smoky element.
