Our selection of the best yachts for charter in the Mediterranean
Our selection of the motor yachts for charter in the mediterranean, our selection of the sailing yachts for charter in the mediterranean, everything you need to know about a mediterranean yacht charter, how many people can i take with me on a mediterranean boat rental.
Most luxury boat rentals have five or six staterooms or cabins in various configurations, including twins, double, queen, and king beds. On most charter yachts, you can customize the configuration of the cabins dependent on the number of guests. This will allow you to take between six and 12 charter guests. Depending on the charter vessel, staterooms may include ensuite bathrooms, state-of-the-art entertainment systems, private study areas, and walk-in wardrobes. Larger mega yachts may have additional cabins for staff members like nannies, security, or personal butlers.
What are the sleeping arrangements aboard a yacht?
It depends on the yacht. For example, you could ask for a master cabin that is separate from your yacht charter guests if you want enhanced levels of privacy. If you are one big family, you can request a yacht with cabins closer together. If sleeping arrangements, including the placement of cabins, are an important consideration, then let your charter broker know.
Are kids allowed on a yacht charter?
Of course, kids are welcome aboard a yacht charter in the Mediterranean. Most yachts welcome nannies, too, with some larger superyachts having additional staff rooms specifically for nannies. A yacht charter offers a wonderful family vacation. Onboard amenities, including swimming pools and cinema rooms, are guaranteed to keep youngsters entertained, as too are the water toys, such as snorkeling gear, inflatables, fishing gear, and kayaks. With advanced notice, the crew can also arrange fun, kid-friendly activities, such as treasure hunts or fun fancy-dress parties.
Where do the crew sleep on a yacht?
The crew quarters are separate from guests. Charter crew are highly professional and are trained to provide exceptional service levels with the utmost discretion. They will be as visible as you want them to be.
How long is the luxury yacht charter season in the Mediterranean and when is the best time to go?
The best time to charter a yacht in the Mediterranean is between May and October.
Summer yacht charters in the Mediterranean are most sought after in July or August, but June after the Cannes Film Festival and the Monaco Grand Prix is typically viewed as the season’s start date. Some charterers prefer off-peak season trips to avoid crowds and kids and to enjoy the warm, quieter waters of September and October. Let our yacht charter brokers know your dates and budget, and we will do the hard work for you, including finding the right luxury boat for your dates and desired experiences.

If you know the superyacht and the crew you would like to book next summer, it is imperative that you reserve your spot at least six months in advance. Popular boat types, like a Ferretti or Sunseeker charter yacht, are always in high demand. The cost of a yacht charter in the Mediterranean with Northrop & Johnson starts at about $50,000 per week and will include the charter yacht and crew. For larger and newer superyachts, you can pay up to $500,000 per week, not including the APA .
What is an Advance Provisioning Allowance, or APA?
The Advanced Provisioning Allowance acts as a bank account and is designed to cover expenses that cannot be fixed in advance, such as food and drink, fuel, and berthing fees. The APA is typically around 25 to 35%. of the yacht charter fee and is paid before the charter commences. The captain is responsible for logging all APA expenses, and you can view the expenses at any time during your boat charter. Northrop & Johnson does not handle bareboat yacht charters. All our superyacht charters include a captain, or skipper, and a crew who will make your yacht charter vacation the best experience possible in the Mediterranean in the heart of Europe. A typical crew will include a captain, deck crew, interior crew, and a private chef. Additional crew may include a sommelier, personal fitness trainer, and beauty therapists. The exact roles of the crew will depend on the size and type of your vessel, but you can expect:
- A captain who is responsible for navigating the yacht and ensuring that all safety regulations are followed
- Deck crew who take care of the yacht’s exterior, including maintenance tasks such as cleaning, refueling the vessel, water sports activities, and more
- Interior crew who provide five-star guest services such as serving meals, drinks, cleaning and maintaining the interior, including staterooms, laundry, and more
- A chef who will prepare gourmet meals to your liking.
Ultimately, the crew will strive to make your experience enjoyable and stress-free by handling even the smallest details during your luxury yacht charter.
Can I decide which meals will be made onboard a yacht charter?
Yes, the menu is completely up to you. You and all guests will provide a preference sheet prior to embarking so the chef and interior crew can provision and have all of your favorites aboard the yacht.
“As a chef, I believe in using fresh, locally sourced ingredients to create unique and flavorful dishes that are tailored to my guests’ palate. I take pride in creating truly memorable dining experiences that are sure to please.” Chef onboard a private yacht

Why: Choose a Mediterranean Yacht Charter?
Mediterranean yacht charter vacations are always by far and away the most popular summer location. You can read hundreds of our client endorsements here . Think the French Riviera, Monaco, Italy, Croatia, Sardinia, Spain and Greece. This is where most of the large crewed superyachts are concentrated and this is where also where you will find a huge variety of interesting places and cultures to experience. The Mediterranean (or Med’ for short) has everything. The area covers a large diversity of countries, cultures landscapes and experiences. Yet, the fantastic thing is that they are relatively close together, so you can create convenient and action packed itineraries very easily. On top of this, the yachting infrastructure in Europe is second to none so there are dozens of beautiful marinas filled with beautiful private superyachts and mega yachts that can be chartered as well as all the shops, restaurants, bars and conveniences that you could need. Because of its popularity the Mediterranean has an incredible choice of charter boats available to rent, both motor (power) yachts and sailing yachts, including the ever more widespread large luxury private superyacht charters.
How Much Does it Cost To Charter a Yacht in The Mediterranean?
Mediterranean yacht charter prices vary according to the size, style and age of the yacht. Our luxury superyacht charter yachts rent from 30,000 Euro to over 1,000,000 per week, plus expenses, in the form of an advanced provisioning allowance (APA). Conversely, smaller 'all inclusive' type vacations cost between Euro 15,000 to 50,000 per week. Here is the full list of all the charter yachts and here are the current Mediterranean yachts with special discounted prices .
Timing & Weather: The Mediterranean Yachting Season
The Mediterranean yachting season generally runs from April to the end of October. During the height of the season, in July and August, the climate is warm and sunny and the winds tend to be light. While this is the high season for all tourism, you can still easily avoid onshore tourists while afloat. The weather can also be good during the shoulder seasons.
Tip: Shoulder Season Means Value & Choice
Another good time to charter your yacht is generally on either of the shoulder seasons from April-May and September-October. These periods fall each side of the main summer season when the temperatures are still comfortable. September, for instance, is an underrated time of the year because the weather is usually good (if not too hot) but the sea is at its maximum temperature which is ideal for swimming. At this time there is greater choice of berths and anchorages for your boating vacation and the onshore tourists are not present in their largest numbers.

Mediterranean yachting holiday locations are unequaled in their natural beauty, cultural heritage, passion, glamour and style. Today, the clear azure waters of the Mediterranean maintain a cachet of culture, history, sophistication, luxury yachts and stunning beauty, all with an endearing reputation of unrestrained energy.
The sunny Mediterranean is often conveniently split into two main areas - The Western Mediterranean and the Eastern Mediterranean . Both parts are culturally unique, yet both are lipped with stunning beaches, hidden coves, majestic ports and luxury yachts. Yachts of all sizes and shapes grace the Mediterranean, some are large motor yachts, some are sleek sailing yachts, some performance orientated and others of a more comfortable cruising style. This fabled area provides the untamed extravagance of the French Riviera , the gravity-defying architecture of the Italian coasts, the unaffected charms of Croatia, the fragrant orange groves of Spain , the exotic lure of Turkey and Greece , the birthplace of civilization.

New to charter?
The Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) is due at the time of the final charter payment. Under MYBA terms, this sum is usually equivalent to 30 per cent of the total charter fee, but may be up to 40 per cent in some cases.
Intended to cover the operating expenses of a charter as explained under Charter Terms, such as fuel, food, drinks, port fees and ad hoc incidentals, the APA will be given to the captain before the start of your charter. The Captain will ensure that the yacht is fully fuelled and provisioned when you step on board. While an up-to-date summary of accounts can be requested at any time during your charter, a full set of accounts will normally be submitted by your captain at the end of the cruise. If, during the charter, the expenditure exceeds the sum already paid, additional cash funds will be required at once.
All outstanding bills from the yacht charter should be settled in cash or by bank transfer before your final disembarkation. Of course, any remaining credit at the end of your charter will be reimbursed to you in full. On request, transfer arrangements to and from the yacht can be made by Burgess or by the yacht’s captain, payment for which will be deducted from your APA.

Look for a large fleet of yachts in the 30-guest range that have their home ports in Croatia. These include the M/S Aurora , Adriatic Sun , Aurelia , Avangard , Infinity , Nautilus and Rhapsody , in addition to some larger options you’ll find operating Croatia small ship cruises with regular departures for individual cabin bookings.
Finding a Boat Charter in the Adriatic Sea, Aegean Sea & More
In addition to cruising in the Mediterranean Sea, most of the ships listed on this page also sail in the Adriatic Sea, Aegean Sea and Ionian Sea. Some can also venture to the nearby Tyrrhenian Sea, Balearic Sea, Alboran Sea and out into the Atlantic Ocean. Most of our charter clients stick to the classic routes found on our Mediterranean small ship cruises , but you can certainly work with the captain and ship operator to build your own itinerary if conditions and timing allows.
Mediterranean Yacht Charter Prices
The per-person price for a Mediterranean yacht charter varies greatly based on your chosen yacht, time of year, length of cruise and so on. It also is highly dependent upon how many guests you have in your charter group. For example, just because a yacht holds 36 guests, it does not mean that you are required to have that many passengers. Just note that Mediterranean yacht charter prices for the full boat will remain the same, no matter how many passengers you bring aboard. That said, it can still be quite affordable to charter a yacht with fewer passengers than it holds. Learn more about charter costs, but ultimately speak to one of our Adventure Specialists to learn pricing details specific to your needs.
Finding a Deal
How to get the best deal on Mediterranean charter yacht vacations? Booking early is a must to secure vessels for charter space, but it’s also the best route for a deal. While booking a charter often equals significant per-person discounts off standard cabin rates, you can sometimes find added incentives if you book a whole ship for your group early. Even luxury yacht charters in the Mediterranean can see significant early-booking deals. Our experts know the nuances and span of options in this popular region and can link you to the latest Mediterranean charter cruise discounts and favorable Mediterranean yacht charter prices. View our charter cruise deals or overall Mediterranean cruise deals to see what’s currently on sale.
Charter Terms & Conditions
Terms and conditions are sometimes more strict with Mediterranean yacht charter bookings than they are for individual bookings. Expect to pay a charter rate that remains the same, whether or not you have enough travelers to fill all the staterooms. Cancellation terms usually require a nonrefundable deposit and payments as the cruise date approaches. Group travel insurance policies are highly recommended. Learn more about these details on our charter cruises and how to charter a yacht guides. Rest assured our experts will work with you and your group to make the charter process seamless and transparent.

Travelers Who've Sailed with Us
The ship was just perfect, great size for an experience on a small ship. The swim spots were one of the highlights. AdventureSmith was so knowledgeable and knew about the specific trip I was looking at.
We had a great time and could not fault anything. Good food, great service by friendly staff. Go by small boat to see more and go to places where big ships can not go.
A top location - great ship - wonderful communication... Enjoy a trip of a lifetime! We had so much fun - dancing, dining, swimming, discovering, cocktail hours!
The ship, crew, captain and tour director were all nice, professional and caring. I liked that we got to have one meal a day off the ship so we could experience the islands.
AdventureSmith is a very professional organization that is a pleasure to work with. This was our third, but certainly not last trip with AdventureSmith.
The ship was just perfect, great size for an experience on a small ship. The swim spots were one of the highlights. The captain found the perfect spot one day when it was a rough day at sea and cool but we wanted to swim. He found the most perfect spot away from the wind and just the most perfect anchorage. Loved all the islands, especially Korcula.
Crew & Guides Review
The trip leader, Matia, was just perfect. A great personality and able to make sure everyone's needs were met. Not a small task for 35 people for 1 week.
AdventureSmith Explorations Review
Tiffany assisted in the trip planning from start to finish and was so helpful in making sure we were on the right kind of cruise. I did online searching but what made my decision to use Adventure Smith travel after speaking to her on the phone. She was so knowledgeable and knew about the specific trip I was looking at.
Please note: The primary ship operating the mentioned itinerary can change from year to year, so the ship this guest cruised on may no longer be sailing this exact route.
We had a great time and could not fault anything. Good food, great service by friendly staff. We enjoyed all the optional excursions. Always wanted to do a trip around the Greek Islands. Ferries were too hard too much packing and unpacking. We never wanted to go on a big ship. Too many people, so Harmony V was perfect. We most enjoyed Santorini and Mykonos...They are the most beautiful.
Accommodations Review
Harmony V was very comfortable. The cabins are great and well looked after by the staff.
Meals Review
The food was very good and the variety excellent. It is a great idea to have a meal ashore each day either lunch or dinner to get an idea of local food, and culture. It was a great experience. We had an the best experience on Mykonos. It was a fun night, very inexpensive and top food.
Stella was our principle leader. She was terrific, and could not do enough for us. She was always bright and happy and full of information. We were able to leave our luggage on board until about midday when Stella ordered a taxi for us to go to the airport. The other guides on our optional excursions were also very good.
We certainly would recommend AdventureSmith Explorations to friends and family. We would most likely do another trip with them sometime in the future. The material sent out before we left home explained every thing we need to know.
Traveler Advice
Go by small boat to see more and go to places where big ships can not go.

A top location - great ship - wonderful communication with our rep, Taylor. We enjoyed all the spots the boat docked - and the swim spots were wonderful.
I've already recommended the company, sent links to friends and will be sharing this with a local travel agent we've used in the past.
The vessel was new and apparent they still had work to do - but with the owner on board he was apologizing for any unfinished work. There was nothing that hindered our trip.
Food was delicious and menus were varied. A suggestion would be to post a menu so you knew what you were eating!
The captain of M/S Riva did a wonderful job making everyone feel comfortable and he was always working to please the clients. A beach stop was no problem for our captain to bring us all wine/beer on the beach! It's those little things that stay with you.
Rokko was always available and ready to assist if you needed anything. One suggestion is that he speak a bit slower!
Appreciated the airport transfers waiting for us and bringing us to and from the airport to our hotels! Very good drivers.
Taylor was available if I had any questions. We had hotel stays before and after our cruise and Taylor made the suggestion to have our included transfers from and to the airport bring us to our hotels rather than from hotel to ship as they were not far and we could walk. Reading material was sufficient.
Enjoy a trip of a lifetime! We enjoyed the crew and had so much fun with all our other passengers - dancing, dining, swimming, discovering, cocktail hours! A great, relaxing vacation! Do it now - don't put it off!
Itinerary did change due to weather and that was clear in the written documents. It was stated that snorkel gear would be available but they did not have any flippers onboard.
We would recommend this trip to anyone looking to experience the country of Croatia and find new friends!
The ship, crew, captain and tour director were all nice, professional and caring. Food was very good, ship was in excellent condition.
I most enjoyed Monemvasia and Aegina. They were charming places that are not as well known. I also enjoyed the other passengers - it was a very congenial group
I liked that we got to have one meal a day off the ship so we could experience the islands. The food was very good on the ship.
Thea was our tour director and she was sweet, fun and very professional. She took excellent care of all the passengers. She kept everything fun while making sure that everyone was happy with the plans. She took care to plan each day - which was difficult since our itinerary changed due to the weather. The captain and crew kept us in good weather by changing the itinerary and we thought that was a great idea!
AdventureSmith is a very professional organization that is a pleasure to work with. This was our third, but certainly not last trip with AS. The trip included 5 days in Athens, Greece and a week aboard the Sea Cloud through Lindblad. We found Lindblad a little rigid to work with during the planning stages. In Greece, they were outstanding. The Sea Cloud is a gorgeous sailing barque. The crew, both Lindblad and Sea Cloud, were warm, gracious and a delight to sail with. My wife had always wanted to visit Greece. I love sailing. The combination got us.
I think Santorini was a top destination. It's a beautiful island that I would stay on. The smaller islands were interesting as well.
Room was, as expected, tight quarters. It's an old ship, after all. The public areas are great. The upper deck is a beautiful place for cocktails, or just relaxing. Seeing the Sea Cloud under sail is a real treat.
Food was excellent. I think I probably gained weight, but that's my fault. I preferred the buffet dinners to the served ones. Variety was excellent. Lot's of great salads. Good seafood and fresh fish.
All of the people leading the expedition are true professionals. They know their stuff. One of the regular speakers has her PHD in archeology and is a real expert on the region and Greek history. I was really impressed with all of them. The two regular guides are Greek and have many years experience in the areas we visited. One of our Lindblad guides, a native Greek, was much too insistent on trying to tell us all about the Greek Orthodox religion. As a non-Christian, I found it a little off-putting. She knew her stuff, but seemed anxious to proselytize...
Between AdventureSmith and Lindblad, we were well prepared. We made our own flight arrangements, but AS was very helpful. I cannot say enough good about our experience both with AdventureSmith and with Lindblad.

Mediterranean Charters - Which part of the Mediterranean?
A Mediterranean charter will be a vacation experience unmatched anywhere else in the world. With multiple countries each with their own histories and culture, no other body of water gives a charter guest such exceptional diversity to explore. Visit "be seen bucket list destinations" or quiet off the beaten track harbors, you get to choose.
There are two main regions to book a mediterranean yacht charter.
West Mediterranean
The French Riviera is home to the world's most rich and famous and attracts party goers and the refined elite alike. Southern France provides both the high life and tranquil relaxation. Visiting the French Riviera, you must include Cannes and Monaco. St. Tropez, Antibes, and Nice are very popular also to include on a western mediterranean charter.
The Italian Riviera is famous for its smaller picturesque villages and towns. From the northern coast near France to the islands off Naples and on toward Sicily, there is no better view than one from the sea. Visit Portofino and Cinque Terra, the Amalfi Coast and Naples including Pompeii. Other hotspots include shopping on Capri and visiting the Blue Grotto.
East Mediterranean
Charter yachts can cruise the waters of Greece, Turkey, and Croatia. East Mediterranean yacht charters combine perfect blue green seas with fabled history and natural splendors. This area tends to be less touristy, and there are many ancient sites to explore. One of the world's most beautiful regions, the Aegean overflows with islands that beckon.
Don't forget Venice which might be coordinated with a cruise to Croatia. After all, nothing is as centered around water as Venice! Visit the beautiful island of Santorini. Check out Hvar. Souvenir shop in Bodrum. Aboard your charter yacht against the setting sun, your crew will serve wine and delicious seafood dinners that reflect the local specialties. Calamari, honey, cheese, and olives. The area is more than living history; it's a delicious, sunny destination.

For private yacht charters , few destinations compare to the Mediterranean. In every port of call, yacht charter guests are greeted by charming Old-World architecture, vibrant culture, amazing food and wine, and lovely landscapes. The lively atmosphere and beautiful landscapes are why the Mediterranean is the world’s most popular summer destination for private yacht charters .
The region offers an endless variety of luxury adventures for visitors. From A-list affairs like the Cannes International Film Festival and the Formula One Grand Prix de Monaco, to the all-night parties of Ibiza and exclusive beach clubs of Sicily, yacht charter guests can relax, unwind and enjoy the good life on a private charter in the Mediterranean .
Want to learn more about private yacht charters in the Mediterranean? This overview gives you everything you need to know: When to go, where to go, and what to do on your private yacht holiday in the Mediterranean.
Where to Go: Best Private Yachting Destinations in the Mediterranean
The Mediterranean is generally split into two regions – the West Med and the East Med. The West Mediterranean includes the French Riviera, Spain and Italy, and it has long been a playground for A-listers and jetsetters. In summer, the West Mediterranean is the center of the yachting universe, and there are plenty of destinations to explore.
Private yacht charters in the West Mediterranean are available in all the region’s best sailing destinations:
French Riviera
A playground for celebrities, jetsetters and royals, the French Riviera – which includes exclusive enclaves like Monte Carlo, Nice, Cannes and St. Tropez – is the world’s favorite summertime yachting destination. The area offers a variety of experiences: Amazing French-Mediterranean cuisine, fashionable beach clubs, A-list events, showy gardens to explore and high-street shopping.
Spain Balearic Islands
Spain’s Balearic Islands offer a true European yacht charter holiday experience, allowing visitors to enjoy the sun-soaked beaches, beautiful natural parks and vibrant cities of these glimmering islands. Ibiza, of course, is the region’s nightlife capital, well-known for its nightclubs that draw the world’s top DJs. Yet, Mallorca and Menorca also offer plenty to do and explore: from hiking and kayaking, to enjoying the region’s delicious wine.
Italian Riviera
Neighboring the Cote d’Azur, the Italian Riviera is the summer hangout of the world’s wealthy. Jetsetters flock to the beautiful Old-World Portofino every July to relax and unwind. The exclusive former fishing village is home to numerous upscale eateries, spas and dazzling villas. In San Remo , visitors can indulge in high-stakes gaming and fine dining, while nearby Cinque Terre offers a chance to explore quaint fishing villages.
Sicily is bathed in sun, and the island is an amazing mediterranean yacht charter destination for numerous reasons. Visitors here can explore Roman and Greek ruins , explore historic ports of call, bathe in the sun on the island’s amazing beaches or explore volcanos. The nearby Aeolian Islands are also perfect for charters; visitors to the Aeolians can enjoy beautiful scenery, fine wine and the region’s laid-back culture. Stromboli, an active volcano, is another must-see stop here.
Amalfi Coast
Few places are as picturesque as the Amalfi Coast. The 13 villages of the region hug the white cliffs and overlook the sea, and for private charters , the coast serves as a dramatic backdrop for a beautiful cruising experience. Explore Amalfi’s amazing clifftop villas, indulge in the region’s to-die-for food and drink , or relax at world-class spas during your stay.
Located off the coast of the French Riviera, Corsica offers a decidedly laid-back vibe, matched with history and cosmopolitan amenities. The island is home to numerous beaches, amazing history, and a plethora of outdoor activities including hiking, biking and kayaking. If you want to avoid the bustle of the Riviera, head to Corsica.
Corsica’s Italian neighbor is known for its exclusive vibes; A-listers and celebrities flock here in the summer to enjoy the island’s sandy beaches and amazing spas. Sardinia continues to be a favorite yachting destination, thanks to its Caribbean-esque white-sand beaches, dramatic coastline, and lively cities and villages.
Best Time for sailing
The West Mediterranean is the world’s favorite summer yachting destination. The season peaks in July and August, as superyachts fill the harbors of Monaco, Italy and Spain. In summer, temperatures climb into the upper-70s and 80s, with steady breezes helping to keep guests cool.
The summer months also offer ideal cruising conditions. Steady winds, calm seas and bathtub-warm water temperatures. Although July and August are prime yachting times, the true yachting season stretches from April to October; the shoulder season months in June and September, for example, offer great value with fewer crowds.
Types of Yachts Available for Private Charters
In the Mediterranean, you’ll find a wide variety of vessels available for charter, from 50-foot motor yachts , to superyachts with accommodations for up to 12 guests. Available yachts include:
- Motor Yachts – Motor yachts are revered for their comfortable cruising, opulent designs, and beautiful multi-tiered decks. Motor yachts tend to move faster, allowing guests to see and do more, and they provide the best in cruising comfort.
- Sailing Yachts – A crewed sailing yacht provides guests with a classic sea-faring experience, and you’ll find sailing yachts of all sizes. This type of yacht is popular in the Mediterranean, thanks to the region’s excellent summer cruising conditions.
- Catamarans – Multi-hulled catamarans are revered for their steadiness and speed. There are motor cats and sailing catamarans available; each style offering a comfortable cruising experience.
What to Do: Explore the Mediterranean
Mediterranean private charter itineraries are full of adventure, fine food and drink, historical landmarks to explore, beach clubs and incredible landscapes. Some of the region’s must-see destinations include:
Bosa, Sardinia Although Sardinia is home to numerous picturesque villages and ports, historic Bosa is one of the best. Known for its vibrant, pastel-hued villas, the ancient port looks like it’s straight out of a painting. In Bosa, you must hike to the Castle, which overlooks town and the sea, for the best views on the island. You’ll also find a smattering of art galleries, alfresco wine bars, and museums to explore.
Etna, Sicily A trip to Sicily wouldn’t be complete without a tour or hike on Mt. Etna. Europe’s tallest active volcano, Etna is a natural sight to behold. Explore the volcano by foot, helicopter, or ATV. Another option: See Stromboli, an active volcano in the Aeolian Islands; this is a perfect stop for yacht charters.
UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Menorca Mallorca’s smaller neighbor has long been a protected UNESCO reserve, and the island is the perfect escape after a trip to bustling Ibiza. Hike or kayak the marshes on the island, or set up a beach picnic on one of the island’s hidden beaches. This is a great place to catch one of those classic Spain sunsets.
Taormina, Sicily The Greek ruins at Taormina – a stunning amphitheater overlooking the sea – are one of the best historical landmarks in all of Italy. Built in the third-century BC, the theater offers incredible views of the surrounding town and mountains. Plus, in summer, theater companies host events here; be sure to catch one if you’re in town.
Casino de Monte-Carlo, Monaco Monaco is home to some of the world’s most opulent gaming facilities, and the Casino de Monte-Carlo is a favorite among the superyacht set. Try your luck at baccarat, poker or roulette, or catch a performance from the resident ballet. The casino is a must-see.
Bonifacio, Corsica The southernmost point on the island, Bonifacio is a must-do on any Corsica charter. The bustling port is naturally beautiful, as it’s surrounded by white cliffs and grottos. Nearby you’ll find great snorkeling at the Lavezzi Islands, and the city’s picturesque citadel is well worth the tour.
Nightlife Tours, Ibiza Ibiza is known around the world for its all-night parties, and here you’ll find plenty of world-class clubs featuring top DJs. Plan a night out in Ibiza Town; Pacha is a favorite super-club here, as is Lio and HEART Ibiza. Your yacht is also the perfect location for hosting a private pre-party before your night out.
Best Beaches for Mediterranean Yacht Charters
From the peddle-beaches of the Amalfi Coast, to the Caribbean-esque white sands of Sardinia, the West Med is home to some of Europe’s most incredible beaches. Private yacht charters provide a chance to explore the best of the best. Some of the region’s favorite beaches include:
Loto Beach, Corsica Located near quaint Saint-Florent, Loto Beach is a sun-soaked stretch of white sand surrounded by rolling hills. Measuring nearly a quarter-mile, the beach butts up to calm, turquoise waters that are ideal for sun bathing. Typically, with fewer crowds, Loto Beach is a perfect stop in route to beautiful Calvi.
San Vito Lo Capo, Sicily A popular beach in northwestern Sicily, Spiaggia San Vito Lo Capo is a sheltered beach, which is overlooked by Mount Monaco, a towering granite crag. In town, there’s plenty to explore as well, making this a must-stop in northern Sicily.
Spiaggia Grande, Amalfi Coast Spiaggia Grande, or Big Beach, lies just below the town of Positano, where the cliffs and villas tower above. In fact, the hotels here had to cut the beach right into the mountains. The result is one of the most picturesque beaches in all of the Amalfi Coast.
Paloma Beach, French Riviera Located in Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, the ultra-exclusive Paloma Beach is a favorite celeb-sighting spot for visitors. Half of the beach is private, with high-end beach clubs offer access to charter guests. Known for its beautiful aquamarine waters and upscale amenities, the beach is a must in the South of France.
Plage de Marinieres, French Riviera This gorgeous stretch of sand is located away from the bustle of Nice. Tucked in front of the town of Villefranche-sur-Mer, the beach is perfect for swimming, water sports, and long beach walks (in fact, the beach measures nearly three-quarters of a mile.) Plus, it’s an ideal spot for travelers with kids; in summer, the beach has lifeguards on duty.
Cala Goloritze, Sardinia Situated on the Gulf of Orosei, this amazing white-sand beach would be at home in the Caribbean. Thanks to a nearby river, the beach tends to have cooler waters, which makes this a must-stop during the sizzling summer days of July and August.
Cala Turqueta, Menorca This hidden beach on Menorca (it’s surrounded by steep gorges and forests) make this one of the best spots on the island for a swim. There’s great snorkeling nearby, and the protected cove is known for its shallow aquamarine waters.
Cala Benirras, Ibiza Ibiza has its fair share of incredible beaches, but Benirras might just be the best. The crescent-shaped beach is bathed in sun, and it has a lively vibe thanks to the drummers, dancers and fire-eaters that hang out and perform here. Another benefit: Cala Benirras is surrounded by a protected reserve, which gives it a quieter, more laid-back vibe.

The Palm Beach International Boat Show — the yacht world's flashiest event stateside — is returning this year with over 800 boats for both deep-pocked potential owners and window shoppers to peruse.
While it's impossible to know what exactly will be on display until the show begins on Thursday, it's expected that eight megayachts — generally defined as ships over 60 meters long — will be docked at the show and at nearby marinas like the Rybovich Marina in the ritzy Florida town.
Some of these are for sale at eye-popping prices, but others are available to if in case you fancy living like a billionaire for a week or two this summer (and if you have six figures to spare on a vacation).
These are the eight biggest yachts that will be at the Palm Beach International Boat Show, in size order.
Nero: 90.1 meters
Seanna: 64.5 meters
Price: $54,000,000 (or from $462,000 a week to charter) Special features: marble foyer, movie room, sundeck pool
The recently refurbished Seanna is available for sale and charter.
Her indoor-outdoor gym is on sea level so that passengers can take a dip after a session with the onboard personal trainer. There's also a sundeck pool, a helipad, a two-room massage facility, and, for the more cerebral guests, a library with an electric fireplace.
There are a number of toys on board, including a popular water trampoline and two WaveRunners.
Come Together: 60 meters
Price: $65,000,000 Special Features: DJ and videographer on board, ice bath, sauna
Next-to-new yacht Come Together is looking for a new owner after doing charters during the 2023 season.
The Beatles' influence is evident beyond the yacht's name, with guitars dotting the sky lounge and a crewmember who doubles as a DJ. There's also an outdoor cinema and bar for entertainment and an ice bath and sauna for the day after the party. The owner's suite has a private study and lounge, and each guest cabin has its own ensuite.
The sale includes a number of toys, like Jet Skis, kayaks, and Seabobs.

Private Chef Reveals Influencer's Morning Menu on $30k-a-Week Superyacht
W ouldn't we all love to wake up to the smell of breakfast waiting for us on the deck of a luxury boat sailing through the Caribbean? A private chef has revealed everything she cooks in the morning for her client on a yacht in the Bahamas in a clip that has gone viral on social media.
In the video , shared on TikTok on Wednesday under the username @lilydavison6, the poster, Lily Davison, shares a glimpse of her client's lavish lifestyle, laying out all the dishes she cooks before 9 a.m. for the Instagram influencer and their family onboard the Sailing Location catamaran, for which prices start at $30,000 for seven nights.
She starts with some bacon and a sliced fruit platter, followed by a batch of fresh blueberry pancakes. She then makes French toast with a specific type of coconut bread bought on the island that she cooks in the plancha grill on deck.
She told Newsweek : "It's hard work, long days and long hours but so worth it as I'm cooking in paradise which is my dream job."
Davison, who has been a private chef on a yacht for two years, says she's always loved cooking, and luckily for her, she had chefs in the family who helped her nurture her passion since she was a little girl.
"I got into the industry as I got a job vlogging on super yachts and whilst I was there, they asked me If I'd like to test run as a hostess on a yacht. I did the test run as a hostess but I ended up cooking every single meal and the guests said 'we didn't know we had a chef onboard'. That sparked my interest and decided to apply as a chef. I then got a job as a chef on my first boat but I didn't stay long as I got a call from Below Deck saying they were looking for a stew and asked if I was free.
"So I went on Below Deck and afterwards I got this job (where I am now on a catamaran in the Bahamas) and have been here for a year and half. And where I met my boyfriend Nik who is the captain."
Davison recently appeared on Below Deck Mediterranean Season 8, a reality TV show that follows the life of a group of crew members working on a superyacht during charter season.
" Below Deck is definitely real but it's a bit more dramatic compared to the real life of yachting due to the guests being way more demanding than in real life," she said about the show.
As if getting to do your dream job in a dream location wasn't enough, being a private chef on a yacht also allows for plenty of time to enjoy the place.
"We get lots of time in-between charters," she added. "We just had a three-week break in January, but we now are pretty full-on with back to back charters."
A caption shared along with the viral post says: "Yes this was all before 9 am."
As much as we'd all love a skilled private chef to cook our every meal, most of us have to cook our own food if we want to eat.
According to data shared by Statista, over 34 percent of Americans cook more than five times a week, while another 37 percent cook about three to five times a week, and only 8 percent cook less than once.
The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 1.2 million views and 52,000 likes on the platform.
One user, allieD, commented: "Do you get off time where you can swim or lay on the deck without them judging you and making you feel like you should be working?"
And Nikki Morris said: "Aaahhh I'm so happy I seen this love you Lily loved you on below the deck so happy for you beautiful."

10 below deck charter guests who will never return to the franchise.
While the charter guests who appear on Below Deck have a great time while filming the show, many aren't invited back for a number of reasons.
- Some charter guests on Below Deck have caused unnecessary drama and won't likely return due to bad behavior.
- Captain Glenn Shephard from Below Deck Sailing Yacht faced backlash from Barrie, who called him two-faced.
- Former guest Dr. Francis Martinis will not return to Below Deck after he was arrested for faking prescriptions.
The Below Deck franchise has featured many charter guests since 2013, many of whom will never return . The Bravo series focuses on expensive charters with wealthy guests who have attitude problems and over-the-top demands. That includes Charter guest Alexis Bellino, who boarded Captain Lee Rosbach’s yacht with her boyfriend at the time, Andy Bohn. She was disrespectful and made everyone uncomfortable with her and Andy's PDA. She even insulted crew members after featuring on the show.
Like Alexis, Delores Flora from Below Deck season 8 was a terrible guest. Not only did she misbehave, but she also got drunk and s wam while intoxicated, which is not only not allowed, it frightened the crew members. Delores got kicked out of the yacht the next day. These guests created unnecessary drama on the boat and will likely never return like a few others from the franchise.
20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now
8 barrie & tony, below deck sailing yacht.
Barrie and Tony Drewitt Barlow had a decent time in the Below Deck Sailing Yacht seasons 2 and 3. Despite that, they left with a bitter taste because of Captain Glenn Shephard. In 2021, Barrie participated in a podcast, Pita Party: The Podcast , where he claimed that Captain Glenn bothered him while using his phone .
Barrie said, “he (Captain Glenn) was a two-face b*stard,” adding that he just didn’t like his presence.
7 Frank Fay
Below deck mediterranean.
In Below Deck Mediterranean season 7, Charter guest Frank Fay had a thing for second stew Kyle Viljoen. He pursued him on the yacht, but unfortunately, their relationship didn’t last. Frank will likely never return to the series as long as Captain Sandy Yawn allows Kyle to work for her. Even if Kyle quits, Frank wouldn’t want to be in an environment that would remind him of his failed relationship.
6 Erica Rose
Erica Rose appeared on Below Deck Sailing Yacht two seasons in a row. Erica was highly offensive toward the crew member, as well as her husband, Charles Sanders, and to make things worse, she left the crew with a measly tip , leading fans to slam her on social media. Ultimately, Erica had to apologize for her bad attitude but never returned to give the crew the tip they deserved. Nobody on Below Deck Sailing Yacht would ever want to return.
5 Justin Guarini
Justin Guarini’s time on Below Deck Sailing Yacht was not dramatic at all; however, he’ll probably never return to the series. Justin wouldn’t return because he wasn't the primary guest. He joined his friend, Kim, who wanted to enjoy a luxury yacht trip. It was more of a one-and-done deal. Secondly, nobody recognized him at all. Viewers later realized who he was and how he was the runner-up on American Idol season 1. Justin is a theatre artist and has made a name for himself. However, it was embarrassing that so many fans had no clue who he was .
Below Deck: 8 Charter Guests With The Worst Attitudes
4 johnny damon.
Johnny Damon’s time at Below Deck Med was full of explosive moments. Once, he sent the food back, citing that the experience wasn’t “five stars.” On another occasion, his wife, Michelle, created drama by yelling at the owner of another yacht . Overall, the experience was simply terrible on both sides. Crew members didn’t love Johnny and his wife, and the couple didn’t respect the crew members. It is unlikely that Captain Sandy would want to host the couple again as long as she’s in charge.
3 Krystal Murphy
Former charter guest Krystal Murphy boarded Captain Lee’s yacht with her friends. She immediately began showing red flags, drinking, and just being a menace. Krystal fought with her friend, Chelsea, creating unnecessary drama. She even passed out and punched a friend in the face. Former Chief Stew Kate Chastain disliked serving Krystal and called her a “spoiled brat;” she wanted to throw her off the yacht. Nowadays, Krystal has seemingly become a more private person. It doesn’t seem like Krystal would want to be on TV again.
2 Steve Bradley
Below Deck fans should remember Steve Bradley as he made many appearances on the show. In Below Deck season 3, he wanted a foam party and demanded the crew to figure it out and follow his commands, acting like a king. In Below Deck season 6, Steve made more outrageous requests. Apart from being a wild guest, Steve was entitled and acted inappropriately at times . No Below Deck captain would want to host him again as he didn't come off as very likable.
1 Dr. Francis Martinis
Below deck mediterranean & below deck sailing yacht.
Dr. Francis Martinis from Below Deck Med and Below Deck Sailing Yacht has a zero chance of returning. While the former charter guest didn’t have too many issues on the show, his personal life issues will stop him from appearing on Bravo again. According to TMZ , Dr. Francis and his wife, Jessica, were arrested for filling out fake prescriptions in December 2023 . The couple used the names of Below Deck stars and got caught red-handed. The Below Deck franchise would never want to welcome felons, especially when their mugshots are all over the internet.
Below Deck airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EDT on Bravo.

‘Below Deck’ Sails Into a New Era
With a different captain at the helm and new production elements, the reality show about charter yachts is switching up its style.
By Shivani Gonzalez
Starting a new season of “ Below Deck ” can be similar to returning to summer camp as a kid — you know it’s going to be fun and that you’ll be in the same environment, but some of the people will be different and you’re not quite sure what the vibes will be.
This time around, in particular, feels that way because for the first time in the show’s 11-season run, Captain Lee Rosbach is no longer at the helm. It’s a pivotal moment for a franchise that has become one of the most popular entities in the sprawling universe of reality TV since premiering on Bravo in 2013 . The show’s appeal was built on endless romances between various crew members (“boatmances,” as they came to be known), horrible charter guests and some sort of passive-aggressive fight about how many shackles of the anchor chain should be in the water. And there was always Rosbach presiding over the drama as he trudged around the boat, reeling off one liners like “I’m madder than a pissed-on chicken” and “we screwed the pooch so many times we should have a litter of puppies running around.”
At the center of the show now is Kerry Titheradge (the stern yet goofy captain of “Below Deck Adventure” fame), who is managing the Motor Yacht Saint David with the cheeky chief stew Fraser Olender by his side.
With that change in captain, the energy on the boat — both onscreen and off — is different, according to Olender.
“Lee has a no B.S. attitude, which I love with him,” Olender said in an interview. “With Kerry, he taught me a lot and sort of forced to me confront issues directly with my team, work them out, as opposed to making executive decisions too soon.”
This shift in management style changes the central conflict — whereas the drama once focused on the captain swiftly kicking out any unpleasant crew member (as we might have seen with Rosbach), the drama now focuses on the whole crew trying to get along (since Titheradge gives people those second chances).
Additionally, Olender noted that the captain’s relationship with the crew can also affect the drama on board.
“Captains absolutely do get involved, whether they know it or not,” Olender said, adding that for the crew, everything is about “trying to impress your captain.”
This phenomenon plays out early in the new season when the lead deckhand, Ben Willoughby, called out a fellow crew member over the radios about not wearing a life vest — something he easily could have done in private. The drama that followed became an interpersonal conflict between the two of them, both with the ultimate goal of impressing Titheradge. (Of course, the two deckhands had kissed on the previous crew night out, which is more in line with the “Below Deck” drama viewers are used to.)
For “Below Deck” showrunners, the changeovers in the cast allowed them to rethink what the show would look like.
From the season premiere, it was immediately apparent that Rosbach’s absence wasn’t the only change this season: The filming is sleeker, the daily, multicourse meals prepared by the chef are given their own glamour shots and the cameras sometimes cut to the perspectives of yachties running around on deck and through the galley.
“Our showrunner, Lauren Simms, is an avid consumer of all different kinds of media,” Noah Samton, a senior vice president of unscripted current production for NBCUniversal, said in an interview. “She pitches us different ideas on how to stylistically evoke different feelings and change the mood a little bit of ‘Below Deck’ without removing what really works.”
Moving through the rest of the season, and potentially through seasons to come, Olender is aiming to bring a cutthroat management style while also bringing affection for his stews, all with his signature British humor.
On Bravo’s side, there are changes in the works for the other “Below Deck” spinoffs — including “Sailing Yacht,” “Mediterranean” and “Down Under” — which collectively, have 26 seasons. Specifically, Samton said that “Down Under” is currently filming and that even though fans should be ready to see new things, the show will stay true to its original concept.
“These are real yachties doing a real job so you have to stay within those confines because the audience isn’t going to want anything that is too produced or fake,” Samton said. “So we have to find ways to reinvent while staying true to the original concept of the show.”
And as Olender said: “I’m sure that every year if I were to work with this franchise again, that I’ll be thrown a collection of total chaotic and disastrous stews — that’s what makes it watchable.”
An earlier version of this article misquoted Fraser Olender, the chief stew of “Below Deck.” He said, “I also feel like Kerry this season. ... Lee has a no B.S. attitude, which I love with him,” not “I feel like Kerry this season, as opposed to Lee, has a no B.S. attitude, which I love with him.”
