Not only was the ride super fun, full of twists and turns, but the captain shared some interesting stuff about Cape Town, the sea life and vessels in the harbour. Will recommend this trip to anyone!

Great trip!! Both captain and crew were awesome and super fun to talk with. They really seemed to know their stuff. We had a great time and look forward to going on another fishing expedition with them. Note, location is about an hour outside Cape Town but Ubers were cheap so no issues.

We had a truly magical experience! The crew, including Lungi, Edwin, Josh, Mikela, and Ivan, were exceptional. They all went above and beyond to accommodate all of our guests. The crew did a fantastic job of providing us with a truly memorable experience. They skillfully guided us to a location where we could observe whales, and then they directed us towards a magnificent sunset.

We had a great outing with my family and friends to celebrate my sister's 40th birthday. The views were beautiful, the water was calm and the weather was lovely. We saw penguins and dolphins swimming near by. The crew was very friendly, helpful and informative. My mom is unable to walk long distances and in some cases uses a wheelchair. We were required to traverse some stairs to get onto the pier, but were able to get on board with my mom's wheelchair, which the crew were able to secure safely out of the way. Thanks for a great experience!

Our team thoroughly enjoyed the trip and we would highly recommend this listing to anyone. The team was very friendly and made us all feel very welcome. We enjoyed the music and onboard bar. We also saw some nice fish and the staff did give us some nice facts about it.

She has modern navigation and safety equipment on board and she is tested annually by the South African Department of Transport as a Charter Yacht for unlimited mileage trips.

Fuel will be charged on consumption at the current rate. A deposit based on the estimated diesel consumption will be charged.

Day cruise catering will be charged based on pre-selected menu options.

Spirits, mixers, and imported beers and wines will be charged separately.

The day rate includes:

Full crew and stewardess services

Return cruise to the Victoria & Alfred Hotel in the V&A Waterfront precinct

Complimentary glass of Hazendal MCC or non-alcoholic alternative served on arrival

Note: Water sports are charged separately. Refer to additional rate and activity sheet.

Catering is available on request and is done exclusively by the Victoria & Alfred Hotel kitchen. Four menu options with pricing per person will be provided by the hotel.

No, cabins are exclusively available for overnight charters. Day guests may however make use of the outdoor deck showers, pool towels and the guest toilet.

Overnight charter rates, per night:

If travelling to a port outside the V&A Waterfront for an overnight stay, port fees and mooring costs are charged as extras.

Dinner and breakfast are included in the costs for the first night — thereafter only breakfast is included. Pre-catered meals may be provided on a set menu basis subject to dietary requirements at an additional cost.

Luxury amenities, laundry service, dinner and breakfast for the first night — thereafter only breakfast is included , note: meals are provided on a set menu basis subject to dietary requirements. note: water sports are charged separately. refer to additional rate and activity sheet., bookings are made on a request basis only and are subject to availability., bookings will be quoted according to length of charter and proposed (hours, days and distance) itinerary., quotes are valid for a period of 14 days. those issued further in advance are indicative only and are subject to revision., quotes are subject to industry and market related increases including fuel fluctuations., provisional bookings will only be held for 72 hours and if not confirmed within that time frame will be automatically released., full names of guests travelling are to be provided when booking., a 70% deposit (inclusive of fuel deposit) is required within 48 hours of making a booking to secure the reservation. the balance is due within seven days prior to boarding., payment in full is required if the booking is made within seven days of the charter date., actual amounts will be billed upfront, including the estimated fuel costs for the selected package., newmark reserves the right to release bookings for the hazendal yacht should payment not be received by the requested date..

Please board 15 minutes prior to departure and disembark no more than 15 minutes after the agreed disembarkation time.

Should you wish to remain aboard for a longer period, please arrange this in advance with Newmark. Pro-rata rates apply.

Children of all ages are welcome on the vessel, however if they are minors (under the age of

21) they are to be accompanied and supervised by the responsible adult.

The Hazendal Yacht Master and crew cannot supervise and be held responsible for children on board.

To ensure that you have the most pleasant and memorable charter possible, we recommend that you include the following items when packing:  

A variety of lightweight and warm clothing as the Cape’s weather can be unpredictable

A hooded jacket 

Flat / comfortable shoes

Swimming gear

Pool towels are available for use.

We recommend that you contact your local travel clinic for advice on the necessary precautionary measures that you should take for visits to this region.

Neither Newmark or The Hazendal Yacht  can be held liable for any damage to or loss of personal goods.

Newmark and The Hazendal Yacht reserve the right to charge for pilferage or damage to the vessel and/or its equipment and instrumentation.

All passengers, once aboard the vessel, fall under the direct authority of the Master and Vessel Operators and undertake to comply with any requests and/or instructions issued to them by such persons. Failure to do so, at the Master’s discretion, the charter will be terminated and full costs incurred to the guest/client.

Passengers undertake, at all times, to respect the environment and will not intentionally pollute, damage or otherwise harm sea life and the surrounding environment.

Each and every passenger will be required to sign an indemnity form before being allowed on board the vessel.

Newmark, The Hazendal Yacht and the Operator will be free from liability for failing to provide a service due to industrial action, unsuitable weather conditions, technical problems or other events beyond the Operator’s reasonable control. 

Passengers bear the sole risk of injury to themselves or loss or damage to their property from whatsoever cause that arises, and acknowledge that they waive and abandon any claim or claims which they may have against the Owners, Management, Master or Crew of the vessel arising from any cause whatsoever including the negligent action or omission of the Owners, Management, Master or Crew of the vessel.

Any sexual advances or abusive treatment of the Master or Crew will result in the charter being terminated with the full cost of the booked charter levied.

All charters are subject to weather and may have to be altered on the day depending on the prevailing weather conditions.

For cancellation within seven to 30 days of arrival, 70 % of the booking cost, excluding the fuel deposit, will be levied.

For cancellations less than seven days prior to arrival, 100% of the booking cost, excluding the fuel deposit, will be levied.

In the event that a charter is cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, every effort will be made to reschedule the charter for a date(s) convenient to both the client and The Hazendal Yacht . Alternatively, any deposit or advance payment made by the client will be refunded in full.

In the event that a client has taken up the booking, but the yacht is unable to proceed to sea due to adverse weather conditions, Newmark will make every effort to adjust the client’s itinerary to take account of the weather. If it is not feasible to do so, the client will be credited for the cost of the diesel and will continue to receive all other facilities and services on board the yacht at the marina or wherever the boat is berthed or moored as provided for in the quotation.

Cancellations will only be accepted in writing and they must be sent to Newmark at [email protected] . Please ensure that you get a response acknowledging your cancellation.

CAPE TOWN, South Africa (AP) — South African authorities searching for a missing charter boat captain are concerned about possible foul play after they discovered his vessel burned and abandoned on a beach in neighboring Mozambique, but no sign of him or the unknown man who hired him.

The National Sea Rescue Institute raised the alarm over captain John Matambu and his passenger after they didn’t return to Sodwana Bay on South Africa’s northeastern coast on Saturday evening having gone out early that morning.

The charred wreck of Matambu’s speed boat, Magnum Too, was discovered by a search plane on Sunday in the Dobela area of Mozambique, some 170 kilometers (105 miles) up the coast.

“Both men remain missing in unknown circumstances,” the National Sea Rescue Institute said.

Matambu’s cousin told local media that a petrol canister and a medical kit were found near the boat.

The NSRI said some of the circumstances “appear to indicate that foul play may be involved.”

The man who hired Matambu to take him out on the 21-foot (6.4-meter) boat apparently gave false contact details, NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon said. The booking was made for a man, his wife and a child, but only the man boarded the boat, Lambinon said.

“Hopes are that this has all been a misunderstanding, and foul play was not involved, but at this stage all possibilities are being examined,” Lambinon told national broadcaster SABC. “The fact that the boat has been found across the border is obviously the difficulty now.”

The NSRI received a report that the boat was spotted at 10 p.m. Saturday night heading north toward Mozambican waters, it said, the last sighting before its charred hull was discovered the following day.

The Police Sea Borderline Control agency and the Police Search and Rescue unit are also involved in the search. Authorities described Matambu as a well-known, experienced and respected boat captain in Sodwana Bay.
