With a beam of just over 30 feet and an interior volume of 499 GT, the B-50 also offers a generous amount of space onboard. The yacht can accommodate 12 guests across six large cabins. Located on a private deck, the scenic owner’s suite provides sweeping 270-degree views and opens to an outdoor lounge with a Jacuzzi.

The Jacuzzi isn’t the only water feature, either. The main deck aft centers around a striking 20-foot swimming pool that can double as a helipad. How? After all the water is drained, the bottom of the pool is raised until it is flush with the deck. This creates a touch-and-go landing pad that can facilitate comings and goings via chopper. The aft deck is also fitted with fold-out bulwarks that can be opened to create a larger lounge area.

Other notable amenities on the B-50 include a sheltered outdoor cinema at the rear of the upper deck, a gym with a fold-out balcony on the lower deck, a side garage with enough room for a tender and Jet Ski, and a hidden anchor deck with a drop-down hatch.

Drettmann Yachts reveals 50m explorer yacht concept at event in Mallorca

German broker and shipyard Drettmann Yachts has revealed a 49.9-metre explorer yacht concept known as Project B50.

Project B50 was "launched" during an event held at the shipyard's office in Puerto Portals, Mallorca.

Designed to be an Ice Class explorer, Project B50's key specs include a 9.3-metre beam, a gross tonnage of 499GT and 2.6-metre draft.

Accommodation is for up to 12 guests and nine crew. The upper deck is dedicated to the owner and has a cabin with 270-degree views, a skylight, a separate dressing room and a his and hers bathroom with bathtub. Privately accessed, the bow area is arranged with sofa seating and a dip pool. There is a skylounge and a bar found aft, as well as al fresco dining accessible through sliding glass doors.

A six-metre swimming freshwater swimming pool is found on the main deck, which can be covered and converted into a touch-and-go helipad or tender storage. Two lounges are found aft, partially shaded by the deck above, while a formal dining area and the main saloon can be found inside. 

Other leisure spaces include the lower deck steam bath and gym with drop-down balcony, the outdoor cinema – which would be installed with windbreakers – and a glass-fronted crows nest that provides lofty views.

A side garage can store a 6.2-metre tender and a Jetski.

Project B50 would be powered by an integrated VETH L-Drive for a maximum speed of 14 knots and a range of 4,500 nautical miles at 10 knots.

DRETTMANN YACHTS PRESENTS THE NEW GENERATION OF ITS OWN BRAND BANDIDO WITH THE ALMOST 50-METER LONG B-50 WITH CINEMA, POOL AND HELICOPTER

Bandido Yachts is the name of the custom division for explorer yachts from Drettmann Yachts in Bremen. Under this label, individual constructions are realized according to customer requirements. There are no limits to the design, size and equipment. Bandido Yachts are designed as uncompromising explorers on the outside and equipped on the inside with features that leave no detail untouched.    With the B-50, the Deutsche Yachten member is now presenting a new Bandido project that takes into account numerous customers wishes and the experience of the Drettmann team.  With a volume of 499 Gross Tons, the 49.90 meter long and 9.30-meter-wide B-50 has a capacity for twelve guests in six cabins, with the owner enjoying a private deck complete with Jacuzzi and lounge. As the crew perform anchor maneuvers from the deck below, the owner has a seamless view of the sea from his suite.

The outstanding features for all guests include a sheltered outdoor cinema at the rear of the upper deck, a gym with a fold-out balcony on the lower deck and a six-metre-long pool on the main deck, on the sides of which the bulwark can be folded out to enlarge the lounge area. When the water is drained, the bottom of the pool can be raised so that it is flush with the deck. A helicopter can then take off and land on the Touch&Go area for owner and guest transfers if required.

The B-50 is powered by pod drives, which allow her captain to maneuver excellently. Drettmann Yachts specifies a maximum speed of 14 knots for the stylish explorer; at four knots less, the B-50 can travel around 4,500 nautical miles non-stop. 

Drettmann Yachts has unrivaled experience in the genre of individual one-off constructions. The Bremen-based company has not only built 1,000 flybridge yachts up to over 40 meters in length, but has also delivered 25 explorers between 30 and over 52 meters in length. Claus-Ehlert Meyer, Managing Director of Deutsche Yachten within the German Boat and Shipbuilders’ Association, comments: “A very interesting yacht project that will certainly appeal to many customers.”

This is the first time Drettmann Yachts has commissioned a project in the Netherlands. The yacht is being built for a German owner who will be closely involved in the entire construction.
