I came to Epping Forest Yacht Club yesterday evening for a private event. It is hard to find one negative of my visit. Security was cordial and quick. They had ample parking. The ground are just gorgeous! The mansion is beautiful and I love how they have decorated it for Christmas. You will see multiple Christmas trees and I saw presents wrapped. I participated in a happy hour there and the bartender was great. He made a strong old fashioned and the other two drinks were made well. The service from the other folks was top notch. They pay attention to you without being on top of you. I ate a garden salad that was well presented and tasted fine. The beef was cooked to my request with very well made asparagus. The tastiest dish was the cheesecake. It was really really good. I am sure they host other types of events and while I have no clue what pricing is, take a look at Epping!

Dan and the team at Epping Forest Yacht Club have been incredible in supporting us over the years, through such incredible moments of celebration, and turbulent times of loss. This is a community of family, friends, and support more than you could ever imagine, but I'll try to paint you a picture with words: My wife's family has been members here since she was a baby, including the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club at the beach. My father-in-law formed career-lasting relationships here, her Mom found the best friends and supporters to guide her through her cancer battle, and I walked in and was welcomed like an old friend coming home. My wife had one of her first jobs working at the daycare, and getting promoted to the position of Children Services Director... which has translated into a wonderful teaching career for her! Over the past few years we've built some wonderful memories together: running sprints out by the marina, dinners with family and friends in the mansion, crushing workouts in the gym, and special get-togethers with fellow members and friends... and of course taking our vows! Stop in, say hello, walk out onto the lawn for a beautiful and peaceful sunset. You'll see. It's special :)

The food is amazing and there are few river-view restaurants in Jax that compare from a view perspective. It's members only unless you are there for an event, so make some friends with Epping members or join yourself. If you're in the area, the pool, gym, and other amenities are well worth the expense to join.

I was a bridesmaid in a wedding that took place last night, and I am still blown away by how gorgeous the venue is and how well-thought-out every detail of the experience was for everyone involved. The scenery is to die for, and since the wedding ceremony happened right before sunset we got to watch the sky light up with crazy-beautiful colors over the water during cocktail hour. Both the green space outdoors and the mansion inside are stunning, and the staff were quick and quiet and attentive and made sure all of the guests were happy and well taken care of. It's honestly hard to put in words how great of an experience it was, so I'm just going to attach some photos instead!

Courtney Hassan and her team exceeded our expectations of the wedding. She was so detailed and maintained contact every other week and almost daily as the special day approached. During our ceremony, photo shoot, cake cutting and reception, we had Brittany as our bridal attendant throughout the entire night to assist us with anything we needed. "1 minute of planning saves 2 minutes of execution" and Courtney executed the whole wedding with ease and perfection! If you're on the fence about "this might be too much" or "it's too expensive." All I can say is do your research in the area and compare. It's no mistake that the venue is highly advertised by TheKnot or WeddingWire. I've attached a few photos for your viewing pleasure. Been here six times & must say service is outstanding, food is very good overall. Old mansion well updated; like it much; grounds are truly beautiful too. Parking can be challenging sometimes.

What, a yacht club? In Jacksonville? Not on the ocean? Ok, sure, this IS Florida . . . All lame jokes aside, this place is a great events venue. If I had a large budget, I would absolutely host a company party or wedding or other large formal gathering here. The grounds in the back are well manicured and there are some *ahem* nice boats at the dock. I had a chance to chat with the service staff who are younger but friendly and they mentioned a South Asian (that's me!) event complete with fire performers and a market and it sounded like a great way to utilize the space. The catered food I ate during the meeting I attended was well prepared AND well presented. I feel like I need to go to the symphony (again).

I am a sucker for old mansions built by billionaires on the water. Beyond the allure of old money, is the modern day transformation of what WAS to what is. What Epping Forest IS is still lovely. Weddings can't help but look picture perfect in this setting. The mansion still stands with its old world charm, sitting in the gorgeous crook of the St. John's River. The wheelhouse is there too. A relic and a testament to the man who built a fortune and this estate. The community center has a large swimming pool with a cool slide, friendly and ever watchful lifeguards and equally efficient staff. There was even live poolside music on Sunday. Delightful. If I had a yacht, this is where both it and I would choose to live.

You can't go wrong with this place. Been here a few times for events and they do a wonderful job making you feel lkie you are part of the family.

As one of Jacksonville's properties on the National Register of Historic Places, Epping Forest Yacht Club has evolved from an historic estate into one of the most exquisite yacht clubs in the South. The original luxurious riverfront Mansion, built in late 1926, was home to industrialist Alfred I. duPont and his wife, Jessie Ball duPont. In 1984, Gate Petroleum Company purchased the property restoring its original splendor. Capable of hosting large corporate events such as Pepsi's Rookie of Year event during Super Bowl XXXIX, this 15,000-square-foot estate property boasts several venues for special events.

In addition to several medium-size dining rooms, the 4,00-square-foot second floor holds as many as 150 between three conjoining rooms. On the St.John's River, the property also features several scenic outdoor spaces. Easily tented, the courtyard adjacent to the marina and boathouse can accomodate 150 guests and the lower gardens can hold 300. We also offer on-site audiovisual support as well as an exclusive in-house executive chef and pastry chef, child-care services, and event coordinators! Throughout the years, Epping Forest has seen many distinguished guests including the Vanderbilts, Carnegies, Presidents, world leaders and celebrities. The views of the lush formal English gardens, the scenic St. Johns River, award-winning cuisine and service continue to make Epping Forest Yacht Club one of the most sought after locations for private parties, corporate functions and weddings.

One of my favorite places to shoot weddings, so many beautiful places on the grounds of Epping to get just what you are looking for. The decor inside needs little embellishment as it's classic traditional style lends itself to a beautiful ambiance!

My nephew and his bride were married there in March of 2022. I love boats and water. I am also partial to very old Florida Spanish Colonial architecture. Your grounds were so wonderful. Everyone had a great time. The food and ceremony could not have been better. The canon fired was amazing! I have a special need so I only stayed as long as I could. My driver got detained so I was stranded. I was able to get the attention of a person named Paola. She was with the wait staff. She arranged a car for me. I do not carry a phone and have no Uber account. She really helped me back to the safety of my hotel rather quickly. I got a driver in about 4 minutes. Above and beyond service. Thank you.

Always a beautiful setting, one of the most gorgeous Yacht clubs in the state of Florida if not beyond, we love filming at Epping Forest and it takes our breathe away every time we revisit 🥰

I have photographed weddings here in the past AND picked this as a place for my husband and I to celebrate our marriage. What intrigued us about this location is its charm and beautiful photo opportunity, but what helped us seal the deal is superb customer service. To this day I am still amazed at how friendly and amazing the whole staff is. Their food is delicious and they are on top of everything.Working there as a photographer where it poured before the wedding ceremony, you can really see how well the venue staff operates. They were swift and on top of it when moving the chairs from the lawn to the 2nd story of the Main Building. You can really see how professional a vendor is when hit with things you cannot really control (weather/rain). They were still really friendly, optimistic, and overall a blessing to work with. Thank you Kristina and Mary for all your hard work!!

Went for a Lunch & Learn with Money Pages on Thursday. The views are of course beautiful, landscaping is impeccable and the food was simply amazing! Even the bathrooms were beautiful! lol

Our daughter and son-in-law were married at Epping Forest Yacht Club and I cannot say enough about the amazing job that everyone did from start to finish. Linda and Ernestine were professional, organized, and very thoughtful. Given the pandemic, we had to make adjustments during the planning stages and they were gracious and on top of everything! The chef did a superb job - we had many people comment that they had never been to a wedding with such excellent food. Tuesday, the bridal attendant was wonderful. The entire staff at Epping Forest made it an extraordinary evening for our family and guests and I highly recommend this venue.

Beautiful Spanish style mansion with an antique roof and many other unique touches.

Wonderful time at our sons wedding. The weather proved to be much colder than forecast, but outdoor heaters and wind breakers helped.It was a beautiful venue and professionally run.

I wish they would have returned my email/phone calls. I am pretty disappointed they wouldnt get back to me as stated on the voice-mail recording.

Epping Forest made my wedding day perfect! The mansion and location is BEAUTIFUL and the staff was professional and efficient. During the planning, they answered all of our questions whether it was in person or promptly over email. They gave us their recommendations for the set up of the venue then customized it to fit our needs. They made everything easy from decorating the mansion with the items they had and the ones we brought in, picking what to serve, and recommending vendors. The day of, Epping staff kept everything running smoothly and on time at our brunch wedding. Long story short, Epping made everything easy so we could enjoy the day. Several of my guests have commented how professional and friendly they were. Ernestine was the coordinator we worked most closely with. She was wonderful throughout the planning process and was a positive energy and a smiling face on my wedding day. She made us feel comfortable from the start and seemed genuinely excited for us! I highly recommend Epping for your next big event.

There are not enough words to describe how incredible this venue is! Sarah was our wedding coordinator and Ernestine was our bridal attendant. They both were a pleasure to work with! They made sure my party and I were fully taken care of throughout the entire day.Our guests are still raving about how wonderful the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception were. They also raved about how amazing the food was! If you want the wedding of your dreams you should definitely book Epping! You will NOT be disappointed!

I had my wedding at Epping. It was absolutely amazing. The staff was incredible. They were friendly, helpful and extremely professional. The food was exceptional. The site is stunning. I would highly recommend Epping Forest for any special event.

Delightful and elegant with sunsets to remember for a lifetime. As a wedding photographer I could shoot here for 2 days straight and still have ample opportunity to find some thing new. The staff was courteous to all the guests and the couple at my last event here and admired the added attention Samantha have to the bride. Wow!

I have been to 1 wedding/2receptions and a baby shower here and it is beautiful. Food was great as well. Im sure it was fairly expensive but I was not the one who paid so I dont know exactly. All in all a very very nice venue.

Mixed review.Attended a small function, followed by private dinner.The FUNCTION was handled with aplomb and excellence. The service was thoughtful, and a staff person was always available to anticipate your needs. Food was excellent. Overall, the function gets 5 stars.The DINNER in the restaurant was disappointing, in spite of the entré being quite good. Though we informed the host that we were in a hurry (due to needing to travel to the airport), it was still several minutes after being seated until our waiter came to take our order. The meal was late in coming, prompting the floor manager to come to the table and apologize for the delay. The water glasses remained unfilled for quite some time before being refilled, and the coffee we ordered was lukewarm.One would anticipate a better dining experience in an establishment of this quality. Sadly, I could not reccomend it for dinner.

This was a nice venue with a view of the river for the baby shower I attended. The food was superb and the waiters/waitresses were pleasant and prompt to meet our needs. I did not see an elevator so you might check if navigating stairs is an issue.

A beautiful place to hold a formal event.

A warm greetings as you enter the Mansion and into a variety of living rooms, elegant dining rooms all overlooking the lawns, live oaks and the great St. Johns River. Old world DuPont wealth is open to a new generation! A beautiful location for friends, a business meeting, fine dining and yachting!

This venue is truly a dream come true - gorgeous, elegant, so functional, and founded on world-class service. Linda and Mary were so incredibly helpful with all the endless questions we had during the whole process, and truly listened to all of our concerns and helped us work through each and every one. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, from the mansion to the garden to the patio and the view of the river. Their bridal suite was also amazing, with plenty of space for me, my mom, and my bridesmaids to get ready and relax before the wedding. The food was amazing, and everyone loved every bite of it - especially the hor deouvres during cocktail hour. The drinks and bar staff were excellent, too, and no one complained about having to wait too long for a drink - an all too common complaint at weddings. Our big day had some hiccups due to some sporadic rain showers, but Mary and her team worked their magic and no one even noticed anything had to be changed or rearranged because it all went so smoothly. This venue, their team, their food, everything - truly the best!

Stunning building and garden. All the staff were amazing. Everyone was on the spot to greet us when we arrived, help us find what we needed and even gave us a history of the property. It was a wonderful evening and the food was also delicious!

We had the Elite Team of venue and vendors!We looked at several venues for my daughter’s wedding and was very close to booking another venue when my husband suggested looking at Epping Forest Yacht and Country Club. He had been there for a corporate event and was very impressed with the food and service. We met with Epping and were very specific and direct about what we were looking for in a wedding venue. We wanted the best food and beverage along with excellent service. I explained to them that we were looking for the same level of service we had at our own wedding, which at the time was the second ranked hotel in the world. We gave them very specific examples of exemplary service at our wedding and told them this is the level of service we are looking for. As parents, you spend a lot of time and money planning a wedding and you want to be able to enjoy it. They assured me that service was what differentiated them from other venues.Epping delivered everything they promised. Our contact, Ernestine Sanchez was a delight to work with from our tasting, to the rehearsal, to the wedding and reception. Our bridal attendant, Sam Hanke, attended to anything and everything my daughter needed on her special day and we feel we couldn’t have received any better service than these two ladies provided!Our guests were greeted by Epping Forest staff upon their arrival and directed to the ceremony, then to the cocktail reception and subsequently to the reception. It may not sound like much, but this is an important detail so that guests are not left on their own to figure out where they should be and when. Any one of the staff members if asked something, they owned it and attended to it immediately, whether it was their job to or not. Thats exceptional service.The food was perfection! My husband always says, good food, good drink and good music makes for a good wedding. I did a walk-through of the food stations before everyone was served and was so impressed with how beautifully everything was presented. When I got a moment to eat, everything was so delicious! The tenderloin was cooked to perfection!I truly feel like we had the Elite Team for our daughter’s wedding. All our vendors worked very well together. Between Southern Charm Events for event planning, J. Mosley Photography, Y?Entertainment for DJ and selfie station, Take One Productions for videography, Rose of Sharon for flowers, LMS Creative Studios for decorations and signage and Epping as the venue, we had the best of everything for our daughter’s wedding.

Im genuinely shocked there isnt a review below four stars here. After everything being said and done after our event, 3 stars is generous. This was a very back and forth experience. Initially, everything was going very well. Quick responses to inquiries, decent communication. After a contract was constructed and we were ready to put down a payment, all of a sudden the prices we were given were incorrect and it was going to cost more than originally discussed. When there is a set price for every meal plan, how is this something that gets miscommunicated? The event planner made it sound like she was doing us a favor by moving around a few things on the menu to create something close to the original plan. We submitted our down payment and were not charged on the day we were told. We called a week later to make sure everything was going smoothly and were told accounting must have missed it. Unacceptable. We were told the rest of the payment was due three days before the event. When we called to make the payment, all of a sudden we werent being charged anything until after the event. The food ended up being underwhelming. There was a large amount of food left that was taken away abruptly and without the offer of taking anything home. If they just throw it away, that is incredibly wasteful. If they dont, well.... The wait staff was extremely attentive, but also made everyone at the event feel extremely rushed. They were asking to clear peoples plates while they were still in the middle of their meals. This was for a simple party of 40 adults. Overall, this experience did not live up to expectations. Especially based on so many four to five star reviews.

As a professional wedding DJ who is fortunate enough to travel to some pretty cool places in the world, I have to say the staff here at Epping Forest are TOP NOTCH. The location is simply gorgeous as well. I recently did a wedding for our clients at Epping Forest and the level of service was solid. I am hard pressed to think of another location that matches what Epping Forest offers. If you are considering having your wedding or special event here, ask for Ansley. She definitely goes above and beyond to provide excellent service! I cant say enough. Amazing location, beautiful views., excellent staff!

Epping Forest provided the perfect setting for our wedding -- the beautiful gardens, the luxurious mansion, and the wonderful view of the St. Johns River. Working with Ansley and the rest of the Epping Forest staff was the best. They went above and beyond for my husband and me, to make sure all our requests were taken care of. I can’t stress enough how incredible the service was; it certainly elevated the event to the next level. Ansley was an amazing coordinator. Even well before the wedding day, she was always quick to respond to my questions and concerns. The tasting went so well (more on the amazing food later), and she always made it a priority to accommodate any special requests we had. She definitely eased my mind the days leading up to the wedding and especially on our wedding day. She made sure we were right on schedule because the day FLIES by and without her, I would have missed the cake cutting, the bouquet toss, etc. She took care of the small details that came up (hanging the decor, fixing the favors, making sure everything was set up properly, etc.) The reason my day went so flawlessly was because of her and my bridal assistant, Ernestine. I’m not sure how Ernestine did it but she managed to hold my bouquet, fix my veil, and gather my things during the photos. And on top of that, she was getting us food and drinks during cocktail hour and herding my dog along. It was like she had EIGHT hands and I could not have gotten through that without her. The main reason we chose Epping Forest, besides for its beauty, was for the food. We read rave reviews about the quality of food and that was a top priority for us. Epping Forest did not disappoint. Our guests STILL talk about the amazing appetizers, entrees, and especially the beautiful cake. The chefs and pastry chef are incredible and that is yet another reason why Epping Forest was an easy choice for us as a wedding venue. And the best part is the possibilities are endless; they had so many food options and if you wanted something off-the-menu, that was completely possible as well. Another thing we loved was that everything was included (the food, cake, drinks, chiavari chairs, linens, etc.) so it made it easier for us, instead of having to look for outside catering and rentals. The beauty of Epping Forest speaks for itself; it really doesn’t need much done to it because it truly looks so magical (especially when the sun is setting and with the string lights they have outside). It was one of the easiest decisions while wedding planning and trust me, you will not be disappointed going with this venue. I’m so happy with how our wedding went; it seriously could not have been more perfect.

While the event was awesome, the food was cold and the only access to the top floor was an elevator in the back of the kitchen. Not very handicapped accessible at all. Even the dessert was awful. Beautiful to look at but no taste!!

Beautiful Historic Estate built by the Dupont family. Food and service was outstanding!! The view is incredible! All the old architecture is mostly in tact. Great heirloom pieces owned by Mrs Dupont jewelry boxes, China cabinets all hand carved and painted wood. Secret jem to have events in Jax views of the St Johns River as well

As a preservationist when my friend says let’s have lunch at the Yacht Club. I was blown away by the space and it’s history. We sat outside and it was like I was taken back in time. Great food, service and friends made this an awesome experience.

I had been working with Courtney of Epping Forest Yacht & Country Club, the Senior Catering Sales Manager, regarding my September 2018 wedding. Although we decided to choose a venue closer to the beach for our wedding, I cannot tell you what a great experience Courtney gave us touring Epping Forest. She was professional, patient & was not opposed to drawing up several proposals to fit our needs. I will certainly try to plan another special event at Epping Forest... 10 out of 10, gorgeous venue!

The mega mansion of Alfred Dupont on the national historic register. This Yacht club has plenty of panache, old world charm, luxurious grounds on the water, great marina. This is one of the old money clubs unlike others in the Jacksonville area.

This is a gem of a club. People should respect the surroundings by dressing better, luckily it is a minority that have this issue. The food is fabulous, the atmosphere second to none and the staff is superb.

Attended a birthday brunch that was excellent. The service was impeccable. This club is beautiful and well managed. Membership is a deal. A crown jewel of Jacksonville.

This Mansion built by The Dupont family is now a community meeting place with wonderful catering for your meeting. I always enjoy going there for corporate events and would recommend it for your next meeting.

This sheltered marina is located just upriver from downtown Jacksonville on one of the largest expanses of the river (more than three miles across) and faces due West, making for some incredible sunsets. Epping Forest Yacht & Country Club is convenient to many Jacksonville landmarks, and boasts some of the finest sailing waters on the St. Johns River.Members and visitors can relax in the club facilities, sipping a cocktail while watching a beautiful sunset after a day on the water. Or members, vistors and their guests may enjoy delicious cuisine and fine dining service in the ambiance of the duPont Mansion or at the casual poolside of the Wheelhouse CafÚ. Epping Forest Yacht & Country Club welcomes reciprocal yacht club members and its qualified staff is on site to serve and support our members' and visitors' nautical activities.

Rates: Member contract monthly slip lease fees are $10.50 per foot LOA, electric and water included. Rates will vary based on slip position and length of vessel. Transient dockage is $1.50 per foot of vessel nightly and available to members and guests with reservations. Passing through? Please call for non-member reservation to visit Epping Forest Yacht and Country Club.

Non-members without reciprocal status, are required current valid ID, current Vessel Insurance, and prior notification to stay in our Marina and use the facilities.We accept major credit cards for the dining and bar options, and cas/checks are suitable with ID for paying for slips.

Epping Forest Yacht & Country Club is one of America’s legendary private clubs with a storied past.

Industrialist Alfred I. duPont and wife Jessie Ball duPont built their 25-room grand estate on the banks of the St. Johns River in 1926. Mr. duPont chose this 58-acre estate in Jacksonville, Florida, because it was located on the widest point (2½ miles) of the St. Johns River and faced due west. Titans of industry, world leaders, and socialites have enjoyed the magic of the duPont Mansion.

After the duPont’s both passed away, a local businessman, Raymond Mason, bought the estate in 1970. He lived there with his family until 1984, entertaining world leaders such as Egyptian President Anwar Sadat and President Gerald Ford.

In 1984, the duPont Mansion and estate were converted into a private membership club. Today the club has a marina, fitness center, six swimming pools and six tennis courts along with dining rooms and private meeting rooms.
