‘The Eric Andre Show’ Confirmed for New Season Featuring Lil Yachty, Jon Hamm, Blac Chyna, Waka Flocka, and More

Andre's remarkably absurd comedy series will bring a new batch of hilarious episodes, dubbed "Season 666," to Adult Swim and HBO Max starting in 2023.

Eric Andre is pictured causing chaos

Televised absurdity will live to fight another day, as Adult Swim has confirmed the return of The Eric Andre Show .

The series, hosted by recent Bad Trip star and Jackass Forever  participant Eric Andre, will launch its sixth season via Adult Swim and HBO Max in 2023, per a press release shared Wednesday. Andre referred to Season 6 as, fittingly, “Season 666” and vowed to give fans a continuation of the series’ signature derangement.

“Expect more deranged pranks, fire, and chaos in Season 666 with a jam-packed schedule of celebrities I can’t believe agreed to this,” he stated.

Confirmed guests for Season 666 include Blac Chyna , Rico Nasty , Waka Flocka, Tinashe, Lil Yachty, Cypress Hill, Jon Hamm, Diplo, Natasha Lyonne, Jaleel White, Raven-Symoné, Meagan Good, and Daymond John. Handling directing duties are Kitao Sakurai and Jeff Tremaine. Season 5 wrapped back in November 2020, with Stormy Daniels among those serving as guests on the series’ 50 th episode.

Andre has remained plenty busy in the ensuing years. In addition to the aforementioned Bad Trip and Jackass Forever  appearances, not to mention this week’s Jackass 4.5 on Netflix, he popped up on HBO’s Danny McBride-led  The Righteous Gemstones this year as Texas-based televangelist (and friend of a Jonas brother) Lyle Lisson.

2022, notably, marks 10 years since the debut of The Eric Andre Show , which formally kicked off its marathon of subversion on May 20 of 2012.

What do Machine Gun Kelly , Grimes , Joey Bada$$ and Lil Yachty all have in common? They’ll all be appearing on the new season of The Eric Andre Show!

On Tuesday (Sept. 22), Adult Swim released the first set of images from the upcoming season featuring a bevy of high-profile guest stars and a glimpse at some of the hilarious roles they’ll be playing.

“You can look forward to Joey Fata$$, Grimes and Punishment, and Lil Yachty on Rapper Warrior Ninja on the new season of The Eric Andre Show premiering October 25 at midnight on #adultswim @joeyBADASS @Grimezsz @lilyachty,” the channel tweeted.

Additional famous faces set to pop up during the season include Anderson .Paak  and  Toro Y Moi . And while the fifth season was originally set to be the sketch show’s swan song, Eric Andre revealed in a recent interview with NME that he’s now considering re-upping on his titular comedy show.

“I thought that a while ago, but why close the door on something good? This is our best season yet – we really have the show down to a science. It’s also the only thing where I have complete and utter creative carte blanche,” he told the outlet.

Eric Andre On The Return Of ‘The Eric Andre Show,’ Shocking Lil Nas X, And Genital Sports

Jason Tabrys

Warning: Me and Eric Andre talk a lot about playing tennis with your dick in this interview. The topic is in reference to a bit on The Eric Andre Show (which returns Sunday at midnight on Adult Swim) that could really and truly only be found on that specific show, which is now entering its sixth season as late night’s most chaotic and creative exercise in shocking the hell out of audiences and guests. That’s “Sexy Season Six” as Andre calls it because they were hopped up on Prince videos, Eric’s rockin’ bod (the press release announcing this season declared that Eric was “stripped, shredded, full of energy, complete with beads of sweat dripping down from his taut nips onto his glistening six pack abs”), and a durable leopard print speedo that pops up so much it might be third in the credits beside Eric and sidekick Felipe Esparza. Thank goodness it’s back, bringing the awkwardness with a smashing guest list including Blac Chyna, Diplo, Rico Nasty, Waka Flocka Flame, Lil Yachty, Jon Hamm, and Meagan Good.

In addition to Andre’s speedos and stewardship of genital sports, trying to shock Lil Nas X , breaking Jaleel White, aka Stefan Urkel, and the difference between playing on Adult Swim’s dime and working for ABC with The Prank Panel .

Season six. I think you referred to it as “Sexy Season Six.” What is it about season six that is so sexy other than yourself, of course?

I lost weight and I got sexy.

And also we were watching Prince videos and PM Dawn videos and it just felt good to say “Sexy Season Six.” It’s completely based on alliteration.

How much time did you spend in the Speedo?

I wore that every day. The leopard print I wore every day. That was Emily Ting’s, our stylist, our wardrobe head’s idea. And she was like, “You get naked so often, you should have a little sexy leopard print in the melee.”

I’m curious about the logistics of the ping pong ball that you were able to fire from your nether area. How does one propel a ping pong ball?

There are women that can actually do it out of their vagina. And there might be men or women that can do it from their anus. Our special effects guy was a wizard, so it was like a ball return on a tennis court but for a ping pong ball, it looked like a shop vac. I think Felipe (Esparza) was distracting Lil Nas X and I ripped off my pants and I had those fishnet stockings with the high heels and he was distracted by that. I think we usually create a distraction and then set the guest up for a ride.

Is there extra motivation to shock Lil Nas X or do you have to go a little higher?

Oh, yeah. He’s a savvy guy, so he is a little bit harder to shake, but he had great reactions when they happened and I’m always swinging for the fences with every guest.

Where do you find Penis and Sir Weiner Williams (the cock tennis players)? Because that’s a pretty specific skill set.

They were male strip strippers. They were strippers and I think we have, I would have to ask somebody in my casting department. But we go on Craigslist and there are also sex worker adjacent websites, sex performer websites, but they’re available. Actually, let me text my producer. I want to bring them to the premier. We’re having a little premier party. Can we invite Penis and Sir Wiener Williams and dress them up and have them play cock tennis for everyone?

What’s it like watching cock tennis in the room?

I was so happy with Jaleel White’s reaction that I was just like, I won the Super Bowl. He was so genuinely shocked. He was like, “I have to pick up my daughter from school after this. I feel like I need to take a shower.”

I thought he was pretty cool with it though. He handled it.

He was cool with it, but he was like… I wish we had more time to show you more footage. He never recovered. He was like, “What show is this?”

Jaleel White is next to Kendall Roy on a bench just staring off into the distance and the Hudson River. He’s broken forever by cock tennis. It’s blurred, obviously, but they’re really just cocking it up?

Full Monty. Yeah, Full Monty. I want to leak the unblurred version, but I don’t even know how, where the footage is.

What kind of ball is that? An actual tennis ball? I imagine that might hurt.

We had a ping pong tennis ball.

Like hard or a Nerf-y thing? Nerf should do a cock tennis ball.

There’s a whole market that they’re not tapping into. It’s a shame.

It is, yeah. So hitting the streets this season, love the EMS stuff, the coroner stuff.

We had a tremendous amount of emergency vehicles called on us this season. I think somebody said 33 calls. I got to get the actual number, but it’s the most amount of cops and firetrucks and ambulances dispatched on our behalf.

Do you guys get hit with any fines or anything like that?

We’ve gotten in a little trouble. You got to break a few eggs to make an omelet.

With your other show, The Prank Panel on ABC, I’m curious about that as well. How is it to work within the structure of a network as opposed to what you’re able to do with Adult Swim?

Adult Swim gives me full creative freedom. They haven’t given me a single note in 10 years, I don’t think. I have full artistic and creative freedom. So what could be better? I’m spoiled.

But this deal with ABC, do you have to feel like you have to change it up a little bit?

A lot of the creative stuff goes through many more layers of filtration at ABC, but the big battles Johnny Knoxville and some of the producers were taking on. So I didn’t have the burden of fighting for creative victories over there. But yeah, you can do whatever you want on Adult Swim versus ABC, but you have a lot more money at ABC to play with. That’s the deal. The more money you ask your overlords for the less creative freedom you typically have. That’s how it’s worked since Beethoven when he was writing for the King and Queen.

‘The Eric Andre Show’ returns Sunday on Adult Swim at midnight.

It’s season 666, baby. Season of the beast.”

Over the course of five – soon to be six – seasons of  The Eric Andre Show  (streaming in the UK on Channel 4), I’ve watched André wrong-foot countless celebrities, from Jack Black to Mel B. I’ve watched him draw a swastika on his forehead while interviewing US reality star Lauren Conrad (André is Jewish), and nearly get beaten up by  The Sopranos ’ Bobby Baccalieri (Steve Schirripa) after holding a microphone to his penis. I’ve watched similarly madcap out-of-character appearances, including an episode of the YouTube interview series  Hot Ones  in which he smashed crockery over his head while belting out Tay Zonday’s viral 2007 song “Chocolate Rain”. I assume, naturally, that these antics are a performance for the cameras, that our conversation will be more of a conventionally down-tempo chat about his life and career. I am wrong.

Within moments, our interview has taken on the elastic, free-associative vibe of an acid trip. André sings a few bars of “Louie Louie” (my name). “Don’t get shy on me,” he says, a little pre-emptively. “Don’t get all coy on me like a geisha girl. Ask me anything. AMA.” He is almost completely horizontal, holding himself at a visibly uncomfortable slant for either my or his own amusement – I can’t quite tell which. I try to ask a question and am twice interrupted as he cries out, “Booyakasha”. André’s mischievous schoolboy temperament belies the fact he turned 40 last month. “Forty is the new 50, brother,” he says. “I’ll call you when I turn 69.”

Fans of André and his cult series will know what to expect from the new season of  The Eric Andre Show . Manic sight gags. Meme-ready celebrity interactions. Pranks that push the boundaries of what you can show on TV. And, underneath it all, deceptively incisive pop-culture satire. Previous seasons featured  Broad City ’s Hannibal Burress as André’s sidekick; he left midway through season five and was replaced by Mexican comic Felipe Esparza. This time around, interviewees include actors Natasha Lyonne and Jon Hamm, and rappers Lil Yachty and Lil Nas X. “I think that the show has some cultural cachet [with hip-hop stars],” André admits. “It’s the only show like it. I suppose rappers are of my generation and younger and grew up on the same influences as me, so they’re excited to do something so crazy.”

Also on the guest roster this season – though André may already regret it – is Chet Hanks , the, shall we say, somewhat notorious third son of Tom Hanks. The actor and rapper has previously drawn criticism for cultural appropriation, anti-vaccine rants and allegations of domestic abuse, which he has denied. After filming finished, André and the younger Hanks exchanged pointed words on social media, with André claiming that the “emotionally disturbed” actor engaged in “dangerous” behaviour on set, spontaneously riding a dirt bike around the studio. Hanks shared an Instagram post calling André “a p***y”, claiming that he had been trying to “match the energy” of the show. Was this some confected beef to promote the new season? Not in the slightest. “Tell him to say that s*** to my f***ing face,” André says, emphatically. He remarks on the stark reputational divide between Hanks and his Oscar-winning father. “I don’t believe he’s Tom Hanks’s son,” he jokes. “I want him to f***ing come down here and show us his birth certificate.”

  • Alice Lowe: ‘Cambridge was so many posh boys putting me down – I carried that with me for quite a long time’
  • Andrew Barth Feldman spent a whole summer being (badly) seduced by Jennifer Lawrence
  • And Just Like That season two review: A toothless imitation of Sex and the City

André is now supine on the floor, looking up at the phone he is holding above his head. “Were you named after Louis XV?” he asks. “I thought you were named after Louis CK.” I’m beginning to get a vague sense of what it must be like to be a guest on  The Eric Andre Show , to be probed by a barrage of nonsense and provocation. “You’re my little cupid,” he coos, “and I want you to shoot your arrow to my heart.” On his series – whether it’s the in-studio interviews or the “man on the street”-style pranks – André seems an unflappable presence, impossible to throw off his eccentric comic rhythm. He insists this isn’t the case. “Most things faze me,” André claims. “It’s actually surprising how easy I am to prank. I’m very sensitive.” He belches.

A typically chaotic scene from season six of ‘The Eric Andre Show'

Those unfamiliar with his Adult Swim series may know André from his tabloid-catnip romance with supermodel Emily Ratajkowski. Or for his recent stint in the Jackass troupe. Or for his voice acting work, which began with a main role in Matt Groening’s Netflix animation  Disenchantment  (playing, fittingly, an impish demon), before he moved on to mainstream family films:  The Lion King  (2019);  Sing 2  (2021);  Trolls Band Together  (forthcoming). André is a distinctly “adult” entertainer who is outspoken about sex and drug use, with a proclivity for posting full-frontal photos of himself online. I’m surprised that a company as traditionally censorious as Disney wouldn’t baulk at the association with him. André isn’t. “Richard Pryor did  Sesame Street ,” he says. “Eddie Murphy did  The Klumps  and  Shrek . Chris Rock does  Madagascar . You know, we’ve all done it.”

Talking of sex: André has previously suggested he was bi- or pansexual, telling the LGBT+ website  Towleroad  in 2016 that “sexual orientation, race, and gender” were “obsolete man-made concepts”. I ask if he still feels this way today – is there a label he likes to use for himself? “A hole is a hole, man,” he replies. “We all feel like hot spaghetti in the dark, you know?”

He goes on: “You know, the Abrahamic religions created homophobia. Before that, everybody was just sucking and f***ing. I think that’s  why  the Abrahamic religions created homophobia. They were like, ‘Hey, Greg, I know it’s fun to f*** your friend Ralph, but we gotta get our numbers up. Only f*** your wife.’ And then Greg was like, ‘Oh, OK, fine.’”

We all had weapons on us towards the end. It was so stressful

As well as the returning  Eric Andre Show , André recently fronted the prank-based reality series  The Prank Panel  with Jackass’s Johnny Knoxville and  Precious  actor Gabourey Sidibe, in which contestants pitch elaborate practical jokes to the stars, the best of which are then staged. Over the course of filming, behind-the-scenes mischief between André and his co-stars escalated; before long, everybody was showing up to set armed with Tasers, stun guns and pepper spray. “We all had weapons on us towards the end,” he says. “It was so stressful.” How on earth did this get the green light from the show’s health and safety department? André bursts out laughing. “It didn’t. It was illegal.”

By this point, he has seemingly calmed down a bit. I take the opportunity to bring up  The Eric Andre Show ’s demographics: the audience skews heavily male, around 90 per cent so. “Well, it’s not by design,” André says. “It was a little bit of a bummer when I got that information. There’s been a lot of research done around this and historically [US network] Adult Swim has struggled with that in general. But my show… it’s non-narrative. It’s non-linear. There’s no emotional investment. And it’s just two dudes hosting. So that’s a big hindrance for the ladies. It’s also gross. It’s loud. It’s violent.”

Each episode of ‘The Eric Andre Show’ begins with its host demolishing the set

André points to his 2021 Netflix film  Bad Trip  – which hit upon a similar vein of hidden camera malarkey but situated it within a fictionalised road narrative – as a counterpoint. “ Bad Trip  was gross and violent too, but it had [ Girl’s Trip ’s] Tiffany Haddish, and [ Bones  star] Michaela Conlin, and it did way, way better with women, ratings-wise. So I think if I could do [ The Eric Andre Show ] all over again, I’d at least have more female cast members.”

It is true, of course, that André’s oeuvre is loud and gross – not to mention often quite crass. He doesn’t seem beholden to good taste any more than he seems beholden to wearing clothes on camera, or sitting upright in a chair. “I think there’s ‘good’ bad taste and there’s ‘bad’ bad taste,” he says, “and that line is in the eye of the beholder, and constantly changing. To apply one year’s line to another year is impossible.”

A PR interjects to say we are out of time. André holds the camera even closer to his face; more or less my entire screen is taken up by his mouth. I am conscious of the fact that I don’t understand the mind of Eric André any more than I did when we started. I see only his disembodied lips. Perhaps there’s a metaphor in there somewhere.

The lips break into more laughter. “It’s been a pleasure,” they say. “Thanks, King.”

All episodes of ‘The Eric Andre Show’ season six will be available to stream exclusively on Channel 4 in the UK and Ireland from 3 July. New episodes continue every Sunday at midnight on Adult Swim in the US

Pattie Boyd , the former fashion model and ex-wife of Eric Clapton and George Harrison , has sold her memorabilia collection, including intimate letter from both, for more than $3 million. In a well-publicized love triange, Boyd was married to Harrison for more than a decade after they wed in 1966 before they divorced and she married Clapton, Harrison’s close friend and collaborator, in 1979.

“I am writing this letter to you, with the main purpose of ascertaining your feelings towards a subject well known to both of us,” it began.

“What I wish to ask you is if you still love your husband?” he continued. “All these questions are very impertinent, I know, but if there is still a feeling in your heart for me… you must let me know!” “Don’t telephone! Send a letter… That is much safer.”

The letters between Boyd and her former husbands are dated throughout the ’60s and ’70s at the height of both musicians’ careers. There’s a letter from Clapton dated January 1971 on the title page torn from a copy of John Steinbeck’s “Of Mice and Men.” Also, the original handwritten lyrics for Harrison’s “Mystical One” sold for £47,800 and a photograph of the Beatles in India in 1968 sold for £52,920.

Other rock history treasures in Boyd’s collection include the original artwork Clapton chose for the cover of Derek and the Dominos’ “Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs.”

The collection sold for a total of £2,818,184 at Christie’s London headquarters on March 15, according to a report from the Guardian .
