A vast 200-square metre space with Jacuzzi, sunpads, dining area and bar, the Amels 80 Hull #04 sun deck is the ultimate place to soak up the sun. The Amels 80, measuring 80m or 261ft, has six decks. She is a big ship, offering plenty of features, with a truly impressive volume of 2,175GT. Designed by the legendary Espen Øino, a designer and naval architect who knows the value of the water like no other. A ton-sur-ton neutral colour palette, with natural stained oak and walnut veneers, natural stones and leathers, has been hand-picked by Sinot to manufacture the interiors.

The yacht comes with the largest sundeck in her class, with an oversized on deck spa, easily accessible thanks to an all deck elevator. The beach club opens on each side, bathed in natural light via the glass-bottom pool while featuring a gym, hammam and sauna. The owner’s deck comes with a forward-facing stateroom with a jacuzzi. The bow offers a multi-purpose area, that can carry a large helicopter or be fitted with a basketball court.

The first Amels 80 makes a splash

The first Amels 80 is afloat! Measuring 80m (261ft) in length, the new hull and superstructure was seen outside of her hull build shed for the first time since the concept was introduced in March 2022. Preparations are now underway for her journey to Damen Yachting's main shipyard in The Netherlands for final outfitting.

This next generation Amels Limited Editions, and the first of the most recent design to be introduced, is on track to be delivered to her new Owner in 2025 as per Damen Yachting’s promise of fast delivery – a trait proven through the legacy of the fifty-plus Amels Limited Editions delivered to date. Since selling the yacht exactly one year ago, the team at Burgess has remained involved in the build process to represent the Owner.

Damen Yachting's Project Manager, Romke van der Linde explains what this milestone means for the yard and all those involved in the project.  'This Owner is positive, driven and passionate and it is great that we can realise this dream for him and be at the forefront of shipbuilding. Damen Yachting continues to evolve its products and, for many years, has perfected the Limited Editions superyachts and their various sizes and designs. With the classic Limited Edition designs still a firm favourite of many, the range increased in 2019 with the Amels 60 and now the largest Limited Editions yacht to date, the Amels 80.

In keeping with the Amels DNA, designer Espen Oeino created a holistic and modern exterior design. A key factor of the next-generation design is that it features sustainable materials and innovative hybrid technology. 

'The Amels 80 is a design that will not age. Her modern strong lines will look as good in 10 years as the day she is delivered. She is a big ship, full of features, with an impressive interior volume. She is everything and more that you will expect from an 80-metre yacht. There is a sense of scale, and nothing is wasted,' explains Espen Oeino.

Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design is the design studio behind the first Amels 80’s custom interiors, the shape of which will start coming together once the yacht arrives in Vlissingen, The Netherlands, from her build facility in Galati, Romania, for outfitting later this year. In line with the Amels Limited Editions concept, the Amels 80’s Owner has utilised the semi-custom platform and opted for an interior that hosts a personalised layer of loose furniture and decorative elements. 

'It’s a very neutral and natural palette,' explains Paul Costerus, Lead Designer at Sinot.  'Materials are treated so that the natural characteristics remain as pure as possible. The style is distinctive and allows the Owner to customise and add their personal style.'

Other features on board the Amels 80 include an impressive 200sqm (2,153sqft) sun deck, a waterside beach club which opens on three sides with a nearby wellness and spa, a dedicated owner’s deck and huge framed windows for panoramic views on the main deck. The yacht also houses a multitude of watercraft and toys and a helicopter landing area.

Today marked a significant moment as the first Amels 80 superyacht made its grand entrance into the Netherlands, signaling the beginning of its outfitting phase. The Damen Yachting shipyard in Vlissingen will serve as the crafting grounds for this magnificent motor yacht until its completion in 2025.

Spanning an impressive 80m (261ft), this pioneering Amels 80 superyacht is the latest addition to the renowned Amels Limited Editions collection. The yacht's exterior, a masterpiece by the acclaimed designer Espen Øino, embodies the signature elegance and modern flair characteristic of Amels yachts.

Damen Yachting's Project Manager, Romke van der Linde, expressed his pride in the shipyard's legacy of over a century of innovation, highlighting the hybrid technology of the Amels 80 as a prime example of their forward-thinking craftsmanship. The positive response from the hybrid system already in use on the Amels 60 yachts like ENTOURAGE underscores the shipyard's commitment to excellence.

The yacht owner has embraced the opportunity for customization, commissioning the esteemed Dutch studio Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design to craft a bespoke interior. Jan van Hogerwou, Commercial Executive for North America at Damen Yachting, noted that the ability to personalize the interior is a significant aspect of the Amels Limited Editions yachts. The rendered previews promise a truly stunning interpretation of the Amels 80 interior, eagerly anticipated for 2025.

Once completed, the yacht will feature an exclusive owner's deck, an expansive 200sqm (2,153 sqft) sun deck, and a generous 2,175 GT volume accommodating a variety of leisure amenities. Guests can look forward to a waterside beach club with threefold access, a tranquil wellness and spa area, and a designated helicopter landing space.

The initial construction of the Amels 80's hull and superstructure was completed in Galati, Romania, and unveiled on September 27th, 2023, before being transported to the Netherlands for the next steps in its build. The sale of the yacht a year prior has kept the team at Burgess closely engaged as the Owner's Representative throughout the development process.

Amels has entered a new superyacht category with the official announcement of its new 80-meter (263-ft) yacht.  The Dutch yacht builder made the launch virtually during an online presentation from the Amsterdam Theater. The company said it was viewed by “tens of thousands.”

The on-camera panel included Rose Damen , managing director of Damen Yacht, Espen Øino, who designed the exterior, and Paul Costerus, interior designer at Sinot Yacht Architecture and Design. This all-star cast, comprised of the respected shipyard and two of the industry’s hottest design brands, also included the new 80-meter in a scaled-down, 26-foot model on center stage.

The yacht itself, which is currently under build, will be enormous, with six decks and a total interior volume of 2,175 gross tons. Aware that Amels has plenty of competitors in the 80-meter segment, the design has noteworthy features like the largest in-class, top-deck square footage, including a Jacuzzi and both access via an elevator and internal stairs as well as a spacious beach club that includes a spa, glass-bottom swimming pool and lounge area with openings on three sides.

With its vertical bow, long foredeck and tiered superstructure, Øino’s exterior is aiming for a timeless, classic look. Her modern lines will look as good in 10 years as the day she departs the yard,” he said in a statement, adding that the yacht has a “sense of scale,” but no space is wasted. “She is everything and more that you will expect from an 80-meter yacht,” he said.

The interior design has a neutral palette, with stained oak and walnut veneers, stones and leathers. The yard has kept these materials as natural-looking as possible. Loose furniture and other residential touches give the interior an open, homey feel.

“Materials are treated in such a way that the natural characteristics remain as pure as possible,” said Sinot in a statement. “Splashes of color and special finishings made from bronzed metals and glass are infused into the design throughout to create the characteristics necessary to make the yacht stand out from the crowd.”

As part of Amels’s Limited-Edition approach, it will be built on the same hull and superstructure, but owners can heavily customize the interior as well as custom tenders and toys.

The 80 will have an owner’s deck with its own lounge, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, jacuzzi just forward of the main stateroom, and sheltered area for dining on the aft deck.

The six other cabins on the main deck all offer exceptional views, with a flexible VIP arrangement. It will accommodate a total of 14, including the owners.

The new Amels will also have hybrid electric/diesel propulsion, as well as solar panels and recycling capabilities. The tender garage forward can accommodate a 37-foot tender, with space for other tenders and toys like jet skis. The open foredeck serves as a touch-and-go helipad.

“Every new yacht challenges us to push the limits of our absolute mastery,” said Adriaan Roose, Amels’s product manager. “Decades of Amels pedigree, experience and knowhow have fed the creation of the Amels 80.” The first yacht will be delivered in 2025.

Damen Yachting has invited the yachting world to the debut of its latest innovation – the brand new Amels 80. The 80-metre model is the largest Limited Editions yacht to date and will be unveiled during a digital premiere airing on Thursday, March 31 at 6pm CET. The soon-to-be-released yacht features an exterior design by Espen Øino and is formed of sustainable materials and powered by Damen Yachting's hybrid system. Her customisable interior is thanks to Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design and marks the pair's first collaboration. 

The design team looked to nature to inspire the yacht's design to reflect the growth of the Damen Yachting brand. “With the Amels 80, nature’s timeless beauty meets the hard-earned Amels reputation for quality. It is a design that will not age,” says Espen Øino, designer and naval architect.

As with any Limited Editions yacht, the Amels 80 intends to be perfectly tailored to an owner while keeping those on board as close to nature as possible. “We have been provided with the opportunity to develop something truly unique. You will feel at home from the moment you step on board,” says Sander J. Sinot, interior designer.

“We are very excited to be sharing such a special moment in the history of our Amels Limited Editions legacy. March 31, 2022, is set to be an unforgettable date and we are counting down the days until we can share the world premiere of the Amels 80 with you all,” says Damen Yachting's managing director, Rose Damen.

Amels yachts for sale

Part of the Damen Shipyards Group, Dutch luxury shipbuilder Amels has been constructing pleasure and working vessels since 1918.

Third Amels 80 sold

Damen yachting announces the sale of the third amels 80, designed by espen øino, with delivery expected in 2026….

Damen Yachting announces  the sale of the third unit in its 80-metre Amels Limited Editions series, just three months after the second hull was sold. The Amels 80 is the largest vessel in the Limited Editions range that was announced in March 2022, with the first hull sold six months later.

The latest unit, initially known as Project Zurich, is set to be delivered in 2026. The calculated volume is believed to be around 2100GT and will house 14 guests and 20+ crew. While the interiors are confidential, the Exterior design once again comes from Espen Øino .

Jan van Hogerwou, Commercial Executive of Damen Yachting, who worked with the client throughout the sales process., comments: “It is almost a year to the date since we introduced the Amels 80. The fact that we have seen not only positive reactions to the design since the launch but also a strong sales foothold within the first 12 months is a true testament to her modern design and trusted build pedigree. I am very much looking forward to embarking on the build journey with this experienced client.”
