Subtle, powerful and filled with light, the Privilege 745 is the most luxurious production catamaran ever built. You will appreciate her design, the quality of her interior fit and finish and her comfort which invite you to travel.

Captiva has always been privately owned and never chartered. It was extensively refitted and upgraded over the last two years under the supervision of a professional captain and his crew. The highlight is the gorgeous, new carbon mast and textile standing rigging. The boat has recent electronics, recent sails, new lithium service (May 2023) and engine batteries 2021, new starboard engine. She was last hauled in October 2022 for new bottom paint, prop service and a full hull polish (see attached photos). She is looking beautiful and ready for a new owner to take her anywhere.

Boat Highlights: Captiva represents one of the finest yachts built by Alliaura Marine. Being the fourth build by Alliaura for the original owners, they worked with the factory to outfit her with the best options and equipment. No expense was spared in putting together one of Alliauras finest creations.

This Privilege 745, hull #2 offers worldwide sailing opportunities for a family as well as the potential for luxury crewed charter. The volume offers spacious accommodation from any point aboard: from the flybridge to the cockpit, saloon, to the owners and guest suites quarters. Finished in high gloss cherry wood, with cream ivory leather by Alcantras, she is a marriage of high tech materials combined with refinements in stainless steel, teak and mahogany. Ceiling liners are in Alcantara Ivory, salon and cabins with teak and mahogany wood trims.

The night lighting is dramatic, with under deck lighting both bow and stern and underwater lighting in both hulls. The outside deck and interior lighting creates a magical display when moored out on a quiet night.

Special attention has been given to detail as in the decorative lower cockpit ceiling decoration provided custom by Alliaura, the bar area to port in the main saloon is exquisite. The gas Barbeque! The sound system! Superb!

Privilege 745

Privilege 745 is a 72 ′ 0 ″ / 22 m catamaran sailboat designed by Marc Lombard and built by Privilege Catamarans starting in 2008.

The theoretical maximum speed that a displacement hull can move efficiently through the water is determined by it's waterline length and displacement. It may be unable to reach this speed if the boat is underpowered or heavily loaded, though it may exceed this speed given enough power. Read more.

Classic hull speed formula:

Hull Speed = 1.34 x √LWL

Max Speed/Length ratio = 8.26 ÷ Displacement/Length ratio .311 Hull Speed = Max Speed/Length ratio x √LWL

Sail Area / Displacement Ratio

A measure of the power of the sails relative to the weight of the boat. The higher the number, the higher the performance, but the harder the boat will be to handle. This ratio is a "non-dimensional" value that facilitates comparisons between boats of different types and sizes. Read more.

SA/D = SA ÷ (D ÷ 64) 2/3

• SA : Sail area in square feet, derived by adding the mainsail area to 100% of the foretriangle area (the lateral area above the deck between the mast and the forestay).
• D : Displacement in pounds.

Ballast / Displacement Ratio

A measure of the stability of a boat's hull that suggests how well a monohull will stand up to its sails. The ballast displacement ratio indicates how much of the weight of a boat is placed for maximum stability against capsizing and is an indicator of stiffness and resistance to capsize.

Ballast / Displacement * 100

Displacement / Length Ratio

A measure of the weight of the boat relative to it's length at the waterline. The higher a boat’s D/L ratio, the more easily it will carry a load and the more comfortable its motion will be. The lower a boat's ratio is, the less power it takes to drive the boat to its nominal hull speed or beyond. Read more.

D/L = (D ÷ 2240) ÷ (0.01 x LWL)³

• D: Displacement of the boat in pounds.
• LWL: Waterline length in feet

Comfort Ratio

This ratio assess how quickly and abruptly a boat’s hull reacts to waves in a significant seaway, these being the elements of a boat’s motion most likely to cause seasickness. Read more.

Comfort ratio = D ÷ (.65 x (.7 LWL + .3 LOA) x Beam 1.33 )

• D: Displacement of the boat in pounds
• LOA: Length overall in feet
• Beam: Width of boat at the widest point in feet

Capsize Screening Formula

This formula attempts to indicate whether a given boat might be too wide and light to readily right itself after being overturned in extreme conditions. Read more.

The arrival of some (very) well-off clients in leisure sailing has led to the appearance, over the last six years or so, of some (very) high quality catamarans in the catalogues. The Privilege 745 is one of the jewels in the collection.

With its 23 metres of stainless steel and glass, wood and polyester, this boat can no longer be considered to be in the category ‘cruising boats’. Along with the Yaplukas, Sunreefs and Catanas, it has entered the quite exclusive club that is the next category up, the ‘catamaran sailing yachts’. The Privilege 745 has everything a yacht should have, especially the architectural feature which is now essential on all the large boats, and some of the smaller ones, too – the flybridge. The only boat to escape successfully is the JFA 26-metre, ‘Sun Ténarèze’. The flybridge is extended here by the two large aerials, for a Fleet 55 and the satellite TV receiver, hidden under their domes. This catamaran is certainly big, but it is also beautiful. Moreover all boat designers will say the same: it is easier to design a pretty, big boat than a pretty, small one. The design came from Cabinet Diedre in Versailles; the architecture was entrusted to Marc Lombard in La Rochelle, in common with the rest of the Alliaura range. If there are several Privilege 745 on the market for sale, none can claim to be so clean and close to the very recent. Built in 2008, she was bought 3 years ago by a couple of American owners who fell in love with the boat. They undertook a substantial refit for more than 6 months, no less than US$1.5 million invested ... Upholstery, ceiling, bedding, household appliances, complete rigging, sails, hull paint, converters, generators, watermakers, A/C chillers, electronics, hi-fi ... everything has gone through.

In bright cherry wood, the salon welcomes you with a rounded dining area, a lounge space with sofa and library, a complete bar at the entrance with stools and the chart table. The very nice owner’s suite with large bathroom is on the central front, 3 VIP double cabins occupy the rear of the floats and the crew quarters have direct access to the kitchen on the port hull.
