Galveston Bay Charters – Sailboat and Yacht Rental

Houston Sailing is the best place to rent a sailboat in the Houston area for day and evening cruises.

Capt. Terry or one of our fun and experienced captains will be happy to take you out sailing on Galveston Bay. These charters are available 7 days a week. Let us know if you have a special event like birthday, anniversary, or even “popping the question”. We will make your special day unforgettable. Check our events page for planned outings including sunset sails and firework cruises. You may bring your own food and drink. Alcoholic beverages are welcome but PLEASE DRINK RESPONSIBLY. Safety comes first, but FUN comes in a close second.

Captain and crew are included in the charter price. Gratuities are always appreciated .

Catering is available at an additional cost. Alcoholic beverages will not be included but may be brought by our guests.

If you are brand new to sailing and would like to find out if you might like it, we offer a 3-hour Introduction to Sailing for up to 4 people. 

Opus Hunter 336 $600 Half day (4-hour) cruise | $150/hr. after that (Captain included)

Opus is the perfect boat for beginners and old salts alike. She is small enough to handle easily but big enough for the Gulf of Mexico and beyond. Opus comfortably handles up to 6 guests but is also great for a romantic cruise for 2. 

The Flying Pig Leopard 4700 $1,200 half-day (4-hour) cruise | $300/hr. after that

(captain included).

Captain Terry and his friend Shaun Williamson brought “The Pig” to Houston from Tortola, BVI, in 2017. Yes, there is a story behind the name and Shaun will be happy to share it with you. The Flying Pig is roomy enough for up to 12 guests. She has 4 staterooms with private heads (bathrooms) and is available for multiple day sleep-aboard charters. (add $400/night for sleepover)

Great boat and trip! Took our beloved family member's ashes into thr gulf and it couldn't have been a more pleasant experience. Nice clean boat! great communication from owner. Rain was expexted and they worked with us double checking and first thing in the morning to accommodate us. Fortunately the clouds parted, sun came out, and seas were calm. Much appreciation!

JJ was awesome! He made sure we were clear on what water was safe to sail in, and had all the appropriate safety tools in place. The boat was great, clean, and functional! We will always use JJ and Dusan for rentals when back in Galveston! Look no further; these guys are IT.

It was my daughters birthday. I went there boat was ready, and clean. Awesome big fast boat, I got there 3:30 while the reservation was 3:15. He let me get out the water at 5:30 even though I was late. He didn’t over charge for gas. He gave me a little training before getting in the water. This guy was the best. He made our day. Thanks man, and all the best

The beaches of Galveston are undoubtedly in the number one spot for visitors coming to Galveston. With long stretches of beautiful beaches, great water sports opportunities, excellent fishing , boating, and other water recreation, the coast is typically the highlight of a trip to Galveston for any type of traveler.

Galveston is a major tourist city in Texas, beloved for its history and beaches. It’s a great city for enjoying time on the water, with a boat rental or tour, fishing charter, jet ski rental , or sailing tour. Kayaking and other outdoor sports on the water are also popular activities enjoyed in Galveston.

In the summer, the temperatures of Galveston hover in the mid-80s to low 90s with lots of sunshine, making it a hot destination for swimming and boating to cool off. In winter, the temperatures can be in the 40s, making it too cold to enjoy the beaches properly. Spring and Fall are usually warm enough to enjoy outdoor activities and beach time.

To fish in Galveston, you will need a Texas state fishing license for either saltwater or freshwater, depending on the type of fishing you will be doing. You can purchase them in Galveston at Walmart, or if you pay entry to Galveston State Park, a fishing license is included in that $5 entry fee, with a limit of 2 poles per person.
