PSC is a beautiful location, the lagoon where it sits adjacent to the west coast of Barbados would always make this work. However the high quality of service and the skills of the staff make PSC OUTSTANDING. We got married on Haywoods beach whilst there and the staff could not have been more helpful. Shakira in particular was / is a superstar. Our housekeeper Gail was wonderful. Highly committed and very friendly too.

How guest reviews work

Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.

You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.

We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.

Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

  • Politically sensitive comments
  • Promotional content
  • Illegal activities
  • Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
  • Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
  • Spam and fake content
  • Animal cruelty
  • Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
  • Any violation of our review guidelines.

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

An accommodation can reply to a review.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.

Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.

Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.

All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

An outstanding luxury marina in Barbados

Port St. Charles is a luxury residential marina with waterfront properties, situated on a 10-acre lagoon. There is also a breakwater facility, which includes six berths to accommodate visiting yachts from 60 – 250' LOA, with a maximum draft of 13.5 ft. Outside the breakwater, Port St. Charles maintains three serious moorings suitable for boats in excess of 300 feet.

Services available include water, power, telephone, Cable TV, gasoline and duty-free ultra-low sulphur diesel (with high pressure delivery) and garbage incineration. There is also a law enforcement facility with Customs / Immigration, Coast Guard, Police and Port Health.

Other facilities include a yacht club complex – with a restaurant, deck, pool table and swimming pool – and the entire area is wirelessly networked for Internet connectivity. Four webcams are positioned to monitor boat security on the breakwater slips.

The berthing is very convenient with fuel bunkering available direct from the slip; shore-power was said to be good; and Customs & Immigration will come to visit the boat in person. Additionally, there is a dedicated email and Internet room for communications and two beaches for relaxation (with one just next to the breakwater berths).

We always receive excellent feedback for this marina facility; and the Dockmaster - Derek Ince - continues to come enthusiastically recommended by captains for his highly professional assistance with all needs. Advanced bookings for dockage are essential during the busy winter season.

  • Free designated parking
  • Secluded location on the northern tip of the island
  • Large property that requires a water taxi to get around
  • Properties are decorated in varying styles and finishes

  • Second-floor units do not have pools
  • Some units face the busy road, and noise may be bothersome
  • Only one restaurant on site, and it is not open for breakfast

Bottom Line

Set on the northwest tip of Barbados, Port St. Charles is an upscale yachting and beach community with private villas and apartments set along the lagoon or the beach. The privately owned homes, decorated in a wide variety of styles, range in size from comfortable one-bedroom villas to palatial six-bedroom apartments with private pools. A water taxi shuttles guests around the 22-acre property, which includes a restaurant, gym, tennis, and two pools. The spacious units are ideal for families and those who prefer to self-cater, but the location is secluded and the large property lacks the amenities found at upscale hotels. Those seeking a more intimate atmosphere might enjoy Little Good Harbour.

Oyster hotel review, a residential yachting and beach community that's attractive to those seeking space, privacy, and kitchens.

Port St. Charles is a private yachting and beach community that rents out a number of its villas and apartments for short and long-term use. The development is vast, set on 22 acres that are navigated by car and via water taxi, which conveniently picks guests up at the dock outside their residences. Guests include many families attracted by the space and option to self-cater, but plenty of privacy-seeking couples as well.

The property has a clubby, residential feel but it also delivers a few hotel-like amenities such as a modern gym, tennis courts, a restaurant, and two community pools. The hub of social activity at Port St. Charles is Sunset Island. Surrounded by the lagoon, the area holds the Port St. Charles Yacht Club restaurant, a boutique, swim-up bar, pool, and an extensive dock area with lounge chairs, ideal perches for watching the sun set.

While the property does have one restaurant, it is not open for breakfast and offers a limited lunch and dinner menu. A handful of restaurants are nearby in Speightstown and Holetown, but the rhythm of a stay at Port St. Charles seems to involve stocking the refrigerators and preparing private meals. Depending on the villa, guests can take advantage of well-appointed kitchens that are equipped with modern appliances; some villas include built-in Miele espresso machines. Stylish dinnerware, glassware, and decor as well as dining tables set on terraces overlooking the sea make it tempting to stay in and enjoy the views.

While it's possible to arrive by boat and clear customs and immigration at Port St. Charles, most guests arrive at the airport and are shuttled via private transport to the property. The impressive arrival involves checking in at the huge two-story lobby, clad in marble with columns and arched windows that frame the lagoons and the rows of subtle-hued homes with yachts docked at their doorstep. The lobby's decor is distinctly nautical, highlighted by navy blue sofas, coordinating throw pillows with anchor insignia, and a giant marlin set along a wall that appears to be caught leaping from the sea.

Off Highway 1B along the northwest coast of Barbados, close to historic Speightstown and about a 45-minute drive to the international airport

Port St. Charles is a residential marina community set along the northwest coast of the island. It's walking distance to restaurants, shops, and the sidewalk stalls of Speightstown, the first established port on Barbados.

  • Five-minute drive or 15-minute walk to Speightstown
  • Five-minute drive to Mullins Beach
  • 12-minute drive to Barbados Wildlife Reserve
  • 20-minute drive to Apes Hill Golf and Polo Club
  • 20-minute drive to Holetown
  • 20-minute drive to Animal Flower Cave
  • 30-minute drive to Bridgetown
  • 35-minute drive to Accra Beach
  • 40-minute drive to St. Lawrence Gap
  • 40-minute drive to Oistins Fish Fry
  • 45-minute drive to Grantley Adams International Airport

A variety of one- to six-bedroom villas and apartments with ocean or lagoon views, private terraces, full kitchens, and luxurious residential finishes

Port St. Charles offers 29 villas and apartments for rent. Set in two-story buildings facing the canals of the marina or the private beachfront, the residences range in size from basic (825-square-foot) one-bedroom villas to luxuriously furnished six-bedroom homes with private pools and more than 6,000 square feet of living space. The privately owned homes are decorated and furnished according to the owners' tastes, but most follow a design theme that falls in line with the architecture of the development and its location. Some units are furnished in nautical style with white wicker furniture topped with navy blue cushions and coordinating ocean-inspired artwork while other homes maintain a more contemporary neutral-toned color palette. Traditional Caribbean colonial style with mahogany wood furniture as well as more eclectic decor accented by colorful local artwork and sculpture are also prominent in individual homes.

The villas and apartments all feature outdoor terraces or balconies with views of the ocean or the surrounding lagoon. Some of the smaller residences offer plunge pools tucked into the corners of balconies and terraces, while the larger ground-floor beachfront residences feature small pools surrounded by grassy areas and lushly landscaped gardens. Homes on the lagoon come with private boat slips while homes along the oceanfront feature paths to small white gates that open to the sand and the sea.

All of the homes come equipped with full kitchens, which can be stocked pre-arrival through the concierge. Most of the homes have indoor dining rooms as well as dining tables on the terraces or balconies. The bedrooms, some which open directly to the terrace, are equipped with en-suite bathrooms and are finished with bedding and linens at the level of what would be found in a luxury hotel.

A modern fitness center, tennis, and a yacht club with an open-air restaurant, pool, and bar with swim-up access overlooking the harbor and beach

The main draw for residents at Port St. Charles is its marina. The individually owned homes come equipped with private boat slips and the marina is also an official port of entry to Barbados, meaning residents and visitors arriving by boat can clear customs and immigration dockside. The marina offers a handful of transient berths for boats ranging in size from 60 to 250 feet, and additional moorings for mega-yachts.

Watching the passing of boats arriving and departing the area is also a draw. Guests can take a water taxi to Sunset Island, a man-made island that is home to the Port St. Charles Yacht Club, the property's only restaurant. The island also holds a bar, small pool with swim-up bar access, and a long dock set with lounge chairs facing the stretch of white sand beach across the lagoon.

The restaurant, decorated in the same nautical style found in the lobby, serves lunch and dinner, but not breakfast. Dining tables ringed with cushioned chairs are set beneath an open-air terrace, offering expansive views of the harbor and the beach. During prime dates, the yacht club features live music as well as scheduled activities for children.

Barbados Yacht Charter - Bottom Bay, Barbados - Paradise beach on the Caribbean island of Barbados. Tropical coast with palms hanging over turquoise sea. Panoramic photo of beautiful landscape.

Superyacht Charter Barbados

The luxurious island of Barbados has captured many of the charms of the British Empire and retained them in tropical island style.

Explore one of the most charismatic Caribbean islands with a Barbados yacht charter. Enjoying a seductive climate year-round, it’s all too easy to settle into the soothing rhythm of Bajan life. Barbados is an iconic destination from white beaches to a rum-infused party scene, especially for those who are able to explore the area on a Barbados yacht charter.

A British dependent for over 350 years, remnants of colonialism still linger and have become engagingly entwined with the rich cultural identity of the native people. The parishes of Barbados are dotted with Colonial houses and sugar plantations dating back to the 17th century, creating a stately backdrop to the West Indian vibe.

Discover Barbados: A Yacht Charter Paradise

Barbados is the only Caribbean destination (and one of only four countries) to have had regular Concorde service from London. This contributed to the growth of the island’s west (or ‘platinum’) coast, which became adorned with both billionaire-owned houses and luxury hotels. Particularly busy with regulars over Christmas and New Year, it is a stretch of white sandy beach to the North of Holetown, where you can swim with turtles in the warm azure sea and enjoy a host of watersports, all from the comfort of your Barbados yacht charter.

Adventure and Relaxation: Island Activities

Hiking and all types of surfing enjoy immense popularity throughout the island, and for those feeling less inclined to exertion, Barbados boasts the globally appreciated Mount Gay Rum. The rum sours are worth sampling – in a local rum shack just outside Holetown or in a more upmarket venue. After the sunset, there is plenty to keep your Barbados yacht charter exciting – the international beach club chain, Nikki Beach, has opened a venue near Port St Charles and Port Ferdinand and, even on a Sunday, The Cliff Beach Club and Sea Shed spark up live local music and are humming with an international clientele.

Serving spicy West Indian favourites, the bulk of Barbados’ top restaurants are found on the west coast – from The Cliff to Lonestar and Dockside 1359 further north. Trendsetters are also heading as far away as possible from the flashy west coast to the palm-tree-studded grounds of the island’s oldest hotel, The Crane. Built-in 1887, the huge East Coast resort combines historic features with modern design. Drop the anchor in Bridgetown and have your tender drop you on the pink sand beach at sunset before heading to one of the hotel’s five eateries for dinner. Try the crispy flying fish at the cliffside L’Azure, a local delicacy, or sample Japanese at Zen restaurant.

Barbados is famous for its golf, and in addition to Royal Westmoreland, the world-renowned Sandy Lane Hotel boasts a Country Club and the exclusive Green Monkey Course. The national cricket hero, Sir Gary Sobers, can often be spotted relaxing at the Sandy Lane Country Club after a swift 18 holes. This venue, where Tiger Woods once married, is a majestic clubhouse with a fantastic view. Sit to enjoy your lunch while the indigenous green monkeys canter across the colourful gardens and fairways. While on the island, why not soak up a little of Barbados’ English lifestyle and take in a polo match at Apes Hill Club or a game of cricket?

While the United States dollar (USD) is widely accepted in Barbados, it’s important to note that transactions are typically conducted in Barbadian dollars. Upon arrival, you will need to present a valid passport with at least six months’ validity beyond your intended stay, a return or onward ticket, and proof of sufficient funds to cover your stay.

It’s important to note that visa requirements and entry regulations can change, so it’s always a good idea to check with the Barbadian embassy or consulate in your country or visit the official website of the Barbados Immigration Department for the most up-to-date information before travelling.

Additionally, travellers from countries not eligible for visa-free entry may need to apply for a visa in advance. Requirements for visas vary depending on the traveller’s nationality and purpose of visit. It’s essential to research and apply for the appropriate visa well in advance of your planned travel dates.

It is primarily spoken in informal settings, among friends, family, and in local communities.

While English and Bajan Creole are the primary languages spoken in Barbados, due to the island’s popularity as a tourist destination, you may also encounter other languages spoken by tourists and expatriates, such as Spanish, French, and German. However, English remains the dominant language for communication with visitors and among the local population.

What is the internet connection like in Barbados?

In addition to Wi-Fi, mobile data services are widely available in Barbados, with several mobile network operators offering 3G, 4G, and, in some areas, 5G coverage. Visitors can purchase prepaid SIM cards or data plans from local mobile operators to access mobile internet services during their stay.

Overall, visitors to Barbados should find the internet connection to be sufficient for staying connected, browsing the web, checking emails, and using social media. We had a lovely evening meal there in February. Good service, very good food, good value. We saw fish swiming right at the side of the decking and a smallish ray swam by, too. Highly recommend. Do book though, as Westie says. If you go for lunch the views are sublime of course.

The service is always lovely. The sunbeds and decking are fabulous and free.

You can dip in the pool or walk into the Caribbean sea.

The bar will keep you topped-up.

It's marvellous.

I really want to keep this a secret, but I think the Genie in the bottle may be out.

How much is lunch there, roughly? And would it be suitable to take children?

If you apply for the re-discover voucher booklet before you arrive - PSC is on both the Lunch and the Dinner program - and Yes it is fine to take children - they will have a lovely time

http://re-discover.com/lunch.php

Yes it's fine to take children-------------------- if they are well behaved.!! The owners and guests have children, but you don't see them running around being noisy when you are eating. I'm sure your kids know how to behave though .

Main courses were around the $45 to $70 BDS mark or thereabouts from memory, but I can't swear to that I'm afraid .

We went there for dinner in January and used the re-discover offer. I called the restaurant a bit in advance to book a table and told them we would like to have the re-discover menu. When we arrived they already had a record of it so we didn't need to show a voucher or explain anything. The food was fairly nice and we got a complimentary bottle of wine too.

Centrally located on the small, private island within the picturesque Port St. Charles marina lagoon, this top floor 2-bedroom, 2-bath apartment offers the ultimate in indoor/outdoor living in a very private, quiet and peaceful setting.  It is one of only 2 top-floor units on the island.  Centrally located, a short 3-minute walk takes you to the Sunset Isle pool, reception and lobby, or the well-appointed gym.  A 10-minute walk through the lushly landscaped property, or a picturesque 5-minute water taxi ride across the lagoon, take you to the yacht club, on-property restaurant, or to the access gates to our gorgeous beaches.

With unmatched finishes and amenities, this newly renovated and upgraded home offers 1,600 square feet of tastefully furnished and decorated space.  It features two unique bedrooms, two bathrooms (one en-suite), a generously proportioned living room, a fully equipped open-plan kitchen, and convenient, in-suite laundry facilities.  The spacious, full width 300 square foot terrace is accessed from both the living room and master bedroom, offering dining and sitting areas to enjoy the view to the west. Modern see-through roller sun shades provide an optional screen to filter the afternoon sun or provide privacy, without blocking the amazing view.  The second bedroom has its own small balcony, looking east towards the sunrise.

Both bedrooms feature king size beds, dressers, and large closets. Both bathrooms are finished in marble and offer double vanities, and walk-in showers with rainshower heads. The master also features a new 50’ HD Smart TV. The second bedroom features a beautiful 15-foot vaulted ceiling and private balcony.

Individually controlled ceiling fans throughout the interior and exterior enhance the natural East-West breeze that blows through the residence. Air conditioning is available in the bedrooms and living room and kitchen area, though rarely required.

All lighting is soft, dimmable LED throughout.

The well-appointed kitchen is designed for easy living, entertaining, and casual meals, with an open counter area, which provides a bar or serving area and overlooks the terrace to an unparalleled view of the lagoon. It was recently completely rebuilt, with all-new stainless steel appliances, large fridge with ice-maker, industrial style sink and faucet, and quartz waterfall countertops. Under-cabinet lighting is available as task lighting or for setting a relaxed mood.  All new microwave, electric range and oven, dishwasher, large pantry, and plenty of appliances complete this amazing space.

The living room bridges the open kitchen to the outdoor dining and lounging area and features comfortable seating and custom cabinetry.  Enjoy the beautiful views of the lagoon, or settle in and watch your favorite movies or sports on the brand new 65” HD smart TV with over 100 channels.

The patio is well appointed with dimmable LED lighting and modern ceiling fans hanging from the vaulted ceiling.  A dining table and lounge ensemble provide comfortable seating for cocktailing, reading, eating or whatever you are in the mood for, as you enjoy the view of the beautiful waters of the lagoon and ocean beyond.

This home was renovated together with its sister apartment next door to offer the ability to combine the residences to create an extremely private, secure and spacious, 3200 square foot, entire top floor penthouse, 4-bedroom, 4-bathroom, dual kitchen/living room retreat.  The entrance can be independently secured and connecting doors on the patios open up over 60 feet of contiguous West-facing outdoor space overlooking the lagoon.  Perfect for providing independence and optional privacy when desired, yet proximity and access for parents, children, friends, nannies, or your glam squad as you require…

Double occupancy per bedroom daily, water taxi for beach and pool transfers from 10AM to 5PM.
