Pontchartrain Yacht Club was founded in 1967, with a primary purpose supporting and promoting the sport of sailing, to provide sailing instruction and boating safety, as well as related social activities. The Club has become a staple to Mandeville's Lakefront community. This venue is located on the Lakeshore in Mandeville and available for rental to non-members. The wrap around porch provides spectacular views of the waters and beautiful sunsets. The clubhouse and Regatta Room are available for private events. The downstairs area and yard are also available for outdoor events such as crawfish boils, BBQs, birthday bashes and outdoor weddings. On-site catering is available. Pontchartrain Yacht Club

Pontchartrain Yacht Club  was founded in 1967 during a gathering of interested yachtsmen. The Club was also accepted as a member of the United States Sailing Association in that same year. Since 1968, Pontchartrain Yacht Club has been a member of the Gulf Yachting Association, which incorporates 33 yacht clubs from Houston, TX to St. Petersburg, FL.

Though the location of Mandeville's first Yacht Club is unknown, the second occupied 1635 Lakeshore Drive during the years of 1893-1903.

In 2005, Hurricanes Katrina and Rita destroyed the club house and devastated much of the surrounding area. Pontchartrain Yacht Club re-opened using temporary quarters and began the rebuilding process. The new, elevated clubhouse was open for business in the early summer of 2007.

Gulf Yachting Association

The Gulf Yachting Association was organized to promote the sport of yacht racing on the Gulf Coast and nearby areas. Founded in 1901 and reorganized in 1920, the GYA has grown from the original six clubs to over thirty member organizations. The GYA sanctions various yacht events, including interclub competition in Fish Boats (1920-1968), Flying Scots (1969-2018), currently Viper 640 and serves to coordinate the activities of its members.

Southern Yacht Club

The records of the Southern Yacht Club trace its history back to the club's founding in the Gulf Coast resort town of Pass Christian, Mississippi in the year 1849. Only the venerable New York Yacht Club can document an earlier founding date. As such, SYC is proud to bear the mantle of the second oldest yacht club in the United States.

New Orleans Yacht Club

The New Orleans Yacht Club was founded in 1949 and is dedicated to further the sport of Yacht racing, marine safety and seamanship. Located in New Orleans’ historic West End overlooking the marinas and Lake Pontchartrain, NOYC has over the course of its 72 year history counted among its membership many national, international, and Olympic champions and today is represented by many more.  With its diverse membership, NOYC brings tremendous energy and a hearty Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler attitude to the Lakefront. From formal events such as the Commodore’s Ball to crawfish boils out on the deck, there is always something brewing at the club.

About the LPRC

The Lake Pontchartrain Racing Circuit was established in 1985 by the four Gulf Yachting Association affiliated clubs: New Orleans Yacht Club, Southern Yacht Club, Pontchartrain Yacht Club, and Tammany Yacht Club. The event was, and continues to be, a milestone of cooperation between these organizations. The intention was to hold a series of races on Lake Pontchartrain to determine an area champion and establish a regatta that would eventually grow to an event of national prominence.

The lounge furniture and space is nice. The only other lounge I’ve been to is at the Grand Hyatt Kauai, so that’s all I have to compare it to. They are very different. Breakfast at the GH was similar except that most mornings there was no meat. Here breakfast is not served in the lounge but at the restaurant. It is also a buffet, but they have bacon, sausage and chicken sausage. I would rate this a step up from the typical Hyatt Place breakfast, but other than the meat, there were far fewer choices than the GH. Unlike the HP or GH, drinks are not self-serve here. You get your food and a waitstaff gets your drinks, so be prepared to leave a tip. After breakfast the lounge has beverages and snacks. The beverages consist of a coffee machine, some tea bags, and bottled water, juices and soda. The snacks are jars filled with banana chips, dried apricots, chex mix, filbert nuts, trail mix, dried cranberries and cookies. Dessert is served from 5pm to 9pm. It consisted of mini cupcakes topped with whipped cream and red and green sprinkles, no doubt left over from Christmas. The other choice was this little mini plastic tube, about 3.5 inches high filled with a layer of yellow cake, about ¼”, mouse type vanilla filling, about 2”, and the same whipped cream and sprinkles on the top. I think that this hotel just doesn’t get much of a lounge crowd. I only saw two other people in the lounge the whole time. It doesn’t seem like a place to hang out, like the GH lounge. With a lack of lounge access customers, why put a lot of effort into it? I am not a Globalist so I elected to use an award here and I have to say and am a bit disappointed. I recommended that they give credits (other than breakfast) for appetizers and drinks (or at least discounted drinks). Again not to come down on them as there really were so few customers that I can’t blame them for not producing a great lounge experience as it would probably take too much manpower. The breakfast buffet was $28 each, so let that help you decide if you have a club lounge access award, because that is pretty much what you are getting. More

The best part was the hotel being dog friendly. It isn’t common to have nice hotels that are dog friendly. They also offer dog treats and food bowls upon request. Very clean hotel and the staff was amazing. I will definitely be staying there again.

Attended 49ers game and near by Top Golf The Hotel was very nice and clean. The Cafe Market had great choices for breakfast. The parking was a great compared to the stadium parking price. We will stay again to attend a 49ers game or visit San Francisco. Great price Nice hotel

We went to the SF 49ers vs Wash. Commanders football game on Christmas Eve 2022. The Hyatt hotel was the perfect place to stay. We had a view of the stadium. After the game, we left the Hyatt parking lot and was able to get on the freeway with no stress and drive to Sacramento in time for the family party and pictures.

The staff is knowledgeable, courteous and professional. I recommend planning your stay when the football team is out of town. It gets crowded and traffic is difficult. The breakfast could be more versatile from day to day, but the dining area is clean and spacious. The service staff is pleasant and efficient.

I stayed here for a few days to go to the 49ers game and I enjoyed my stay. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The gym was very clean and they had plenty of exercise equipment. They had a good selection of food for a hotel. We only ate dinner there once but the pizza was pretty good though my side salad was $9 I thought that was a bit pricey for what I got. The only thing I wished they would change is charging $25 for parking. If you’re a guest there they shouldn’t be a charge since this is out in Santa Clara and there is plenty of parking.
