The 45.5m/149'3" 'Ashena' motor yacht built by shipyard Wadia is available for charter for up to 12 guests in 6 cabins. This yacht features interior styling by Nozer Wadia & Associates.

Motor yacht Ashena boasts a wealth of convivial spaces, perfect for luxury yacht charters with families of friends, offering ample opportunities to kick back and relax, or enjoy the water on the yacht's array of water toys, the choice is yours.

Guest Accommodation

Built in 2006, Ashena offers guest accommodation for up to 12 guests in 6 suites comprising a master suite, two double cabins and two twin cabins. She is also capable of carrying up to 13 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht charter experience.

Onboard Comfort & Entertainment

On your charter, you'll find plenty to keep you busy and entertained, notably a gym with all the latest equipment to maintain your fitness routine. Sit back with a glass of champagne in the deck jacuzzi.

Ashena benefits from some excellent features to improve your charter, notably Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing you to stay connected at all times, should you wish. Guests will experience complete comfort while chartering thanks to air conditioning.

Performance & Range

Built with a teak/babul hull and teak superstructure, she benefits from a semi-displacement hull to provide exceptional seakeeping and impressive speeds. Powered by twin Volvo Penta engines, she comfortably cruises at 8 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 9 knots with a range of up to 1,727 nautical miles from her 42,000 litre fuel tanks at 9 knots.

Ashena has a good selection of water toys and accessories to entertain you and your guests whilst on charter. Principle among these are Flyboards which is a must for any self-respecting thrill-seeker, prepare for supersize thrills - even beginners will enjoy the thrill of swooping skywards and ‘dolphining’ back into the water. Take to the sea on the Jet Skis offering you power and control on the water. In addition there are Mercury waterskis that are hugely entertaining whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro. If that isn't enough Ashena also features a seabob and wakeboards. When it comes to Tenders, Ashena has you covered - with two tenders, including a 6.1m/20' Samudra Outboard.

Ashena is available upon request for charter this summer. She is already accepting bookings this winter for cruising in the Indian Ocean.

Shipyard Work & Naval Architecture for Luxury Yacht ASHENA

The yacht's general design work came from Burness Corlett - Three Quays and Wadia Bb. The technical naval architect plans are the creation of Burness Corlett - Three Quays. Motor Yacht ASHENA received her stylish interior designing from the interior design firm of Nozer Wader & Assoc. Built at Wadia Boat Builders the vessel was built in the yacht producing country of India. She was officially launched in Gujarat in 2006 before being delivered to the owner. Her hull was built out of teak. The motor yacht superstructure component is fabricated largely with teak. With a beam of 9.44 metres / 30.97 feet ASHENA has spacious room. A deep draught of 4m (13.12ft) affects the amount of certain harbours she can berth in, contingent on their individual depth at low tide.

She is driven by twin VOLVO PENTA diesel engine(s) and can reach a prudent maximum limit speed underway of around 10 knots. The main engine of the ASHENA generates 400 horse power (or 298 kilowatts). Her total HP is 800 HP and her total Kilowatts are 597. Connected to her Volvo Penta engine(s) are twin screw propellers. Her comfortable cruising speed is 9 knots which produces a range of 1500.

Designed and expertly constructed in 2006 by Wadia Boat Builder, ASHENA’s exotic Burma teak wood exterior matches her equally exotic cruising grounds of the Maldives and India. Classically decorated and with flexible accommodations, ATHENA is the perfect choice for an elegant family charter vacation without comprising on true home-from-home comforts.

Neutral tones and decadent high gloss wood paneling dominate the interiors which are traditional in their styling but supremely comfortable. The main salon has an elaborate wooden bar and comfy cream furnishings as well as a beautiful round formal dining table and bespoke circular light fitting with decorative etched glass. The sky lounge is equally spacious and has room to host 24 for cocktails in port or family popcorn and film nights.

Flexible accommodations provide a welcoming retreat for up to 12 guests in six spacious staterooms. The spectacular owner’s stateroom spans the entire width of the main deck and features his-and-hers ensuite bathrooms and private Jacuzzi. Two VIP staterooms and two twin cabins with additional Pullman bunks can be found on the lower deck, while the lounge on the bridge deck can be converted into a comfortable double with queen size bed and ensuite bathroom.

ASHENA’s beautifully styled outdoor living spaces are just as exquisite as her interiors. Her sun deck is the perfect place to spend the day relaxing in the 10-person Jacuzzi or topping up your tan on the sun loungers. Enjoy a cooling cocktail at the stunning mosaic bar on the sun deck before enjoying an alfresco dinner on the main deck below.

Mahesh Ramchandran

Exemplary Naval Officer, with over two decades of a proven track record of providing outstanding leadership within various divisions of the Indian Navy. Mahesh transited from being a pilot (Naval Aviator) to professionally competing in Olympic classes of sailboats for which he has won many National and International awards. He is amongst India’s most experienced and successful Yachtsmen. Over the years he has honed his ability to set combined goals, build and motivate highly successful teams, and plan and execute strategy by following a disciplined and analytical approach. Instrumental in conceptualising, set up after building from scratch, and Heading/Managing the largest Waterman ship Training Centre in India at the Indian Naval Academy. As the Captain of Ashena since 2013, he is a balanced blend of fun and professionalism and extremely welcoming, friendly and sporty in his outlook to life.

Mohsin Mahadkar

Mohsin who belongs to coastal Maharashtra in the west coast of India has spent his most of time associated with the water. He has sailed from a very young age and has immense experience in seagoing vessels working as part of engineering/electrical and deck teams. He is a certified Padi Open Water Diver and an avid watersports enthusiast and instructor (Jet ski, Water ski, Surf board, Jet- pack and Snorkelling). He has been on Ashena in various capacities since 2006. Feel free to ask him any questions or share your own experiences as he is easy-going and friendly and would love to make your stay on board the experience of a lifetime.

Prafulla Gaikawad

Prafulla is an extremely motivated hard worker who knows the ins and outs of the yacht through his immense work experience on board. He is a certified Padi Open Water Diver. He has strong communication and social skills, is very proactive by nature and has a great passion for yachting and love for the ocean. He is very easy going and can deal with situations at hand while working long hours as well as being extremely friendly and approachable. Prafulla has been on ASHENA since 2008.

Shahjahan Mahadkar

Shahajhan like his brother who is the present Chief Officer comes from a lineage with extremely close ties to the sea. From a young age he has worked at engine rooms of many ‘Men of War’ and superyachts around the world before settling down on Ashena where he has been since the build and commissioning in 2006. He is in addition an avid water sports enthusiast and instructor.

Mansoor Mahadkar

Working in partnership with the Chief Engineer Mansoor is a cheerful and capable engineer with huge experience. He has been on board Ashena since 2013. He gained valuable engineering & electrical experience on a range of vessels. Looks after all electrical systems including internet, TV, music systems, WiFi, iPhone connections as well as automation systems for engines, generators, & safety systems on board.

Manish has been cooking since he was 18 years old and has natural passion and flair for it. His career started in Mumbai, India gracing the kitchens of many Hotels and restaurants of repute. He has been classically trained in Indian, Italian and continental cuisines and over the years has also perfected Pan Asian menus and added them to his wide repertoire. His travel bug prompted him to seize the opportunity of working on a private yacht. Manish’s genuine joy at dishing out food that teases the taste buds and is appreciated is his signature. Manish joined ASHENA in 2012.

Tapas Mitra

Tapas Mitra has been cooking since he was 18 years old and has natural passion and flair for it. He has previously worked in high end hotels in Pune, Bangalore and Delhi. He was classically trained in Indian and Chinese cooking. He particularly enjoys seeing culinary differences and incorporating them into new dishes. He is now an understudy to Chef Manish on board and learning fine dining various other cousins from him. He has been working on board Ashena since 2014.

Neikhrelienuo Tsurho

Neikhrielienuo started her career 7 years ago when she began working as a Stewardess on board a mega Yacht. She is passionate about travelling, seeing the world and meeting people from different backgrounds. She loves hosting and entertaining and with her organisational skills and work ethic is a perfect fit for Ashena as the Chief Stewardess. Neikhrielienuo joined ASHENA in 2016. Neikhrielooks forward to meeting you, making you extremely comfortable on board and providing a fun filled, memorable and relaxing vacation that you won’t forget.

Avino Zhimo

Avino has been working on Ashena for 7 years now. She is hard working and enthusiastic in whatever she does. Her warm and friendly nature will help ensure your stay on board Ashena is comfortable and enjoyable.

Ritshou Kupa

Ritshou has worked for many years in the hospitality industry and is attentive to guests at all times. Her friendly demeanour and attention to detail makes her great at her job. This is her second season on ASHENA.

Shilula Sangtam

Shilula has been worked many years in the hospitality industry and attentive to guest all times. Her friendly nature and attention to detail makes her better at her job. She enjoys music and dancing and is our in-house DJ. She has been on board Ashena for the past 6 months.

Muzmil Mirkar

An experienced Deckhand, having worked on a number of yachts of up to 30 metres, Muzmil works closely with the other members of the Ashena crew in preparing the Yacht to look & perform at its best at all times. He also takes an active role in launching & retrieving tenders, jet skis. A qualified sailing person Muzmil helping others & that skill is much appreciated by our guests who find him to be a very amiable, easy going & attentive member of the Ashena crew. He is a trained operator on Jet skis, Jet packs and Fly boards. His favourite hobby is fishing. He has been working on board Ashena since 2011.

Manoj Sawant

Manoj has enjoyed a close affinity with the sea from an early age. He is an energetic, fun member of the team and always has everyone around him smiling. Manoj works closely with the other members of the Ashena crew in preparing the Yacht to look & perform at its best at all times. He also takes an active role in launching & retrieving tenders, jet skis and all deck operations. He has been working on board Ashena since 2011.

Captain Mahesh Kbliugiugig Exemplary Naval Officer, with over two decades of a proven track record of providing outstanding leadership within various divisions of the Indian Navy. Mahesh transited from being a pilot (Naval Aviator) to professionally competing in Olympic classes of sailboats for which he has won many National and International awards. He is amongst India’s most experienced and successful Yachtsmen. Over the years he has honed his ability to set combined goals, build and motivate highly successful teams, and plan and execute strategy by following a disciplined and analytical approach. Instrumental in conceptualising, set up after building from scratch, and Heading/Managing the largest Waterman ship Training Centre in India at the Indian Naval Academy. As the Captain of Ashena he is a balanced blend of fun and professionalism and extremely welcoming, friendly and sporty in his outlook to life. First Officer Mohsin Mahadkar Mohsin who belongs to coastal Maharashtra in the west coast of India has spent his most of time associated with the water. He has sailed from a very young age and has immense experience in seagoing vessels working as part of engineering/electrical and deck teams. He is a certified Padi Open Water Diver and an avid watersports enthusiast and instructor (Jet ski, Water ski, Surf board, Jet- pack and Snorkelling). Designed and built by the Wadia Boat, 46m megayacht Ashena combines high comfort levels with modern relaxing deck spaces. Entering the yacht, the guests will be charmed by her unique classic features and sumptuous amenities. The main deck features a sofa and an elevated table for alfresco dining with incredible views. On the sun deck guests can take a dip in the large Jacuzzi, while drinking a delicious cocktail from the bar, or do outdoor exercises such as yoga. The main foyer leads through to the dining area with an elegant round table seating six guests in a classic atmosphere. The main salon is furnished with a couch, comfortable armchairs, game table and a multi stool bar that has a wide range of drinks. Able to welcome up to 12 guests in 6 spacious staterooms, Ashena is ideal for larger groups. Accommodation comprises the master suite, two VIP staterooms, two twin cabins both containing a Pullman berth and 1 convertible cabin. All cabins boast generous proportions and include an ensuite with an entertainment system. The expansive master suite on the main deck has a central bathtub, jacuzzi, flat-screen TV and large windows for amazing views. The VIP and twin cabins on the lower deck have a desk and a wardrobe space. • In recent years, Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg have splurged on enormous boats.
• These are the biggest yachts owned by tech billionaires.

The average Joe celebrating a personal renaissance after, say, the end of a long-term relationship or when approaching a fresh decade might commemorate it with an ankle tattoo or a sports car. But if you're a billionaire, you may instead spend hundreds of millions on a yacht .

A few years after he and his wife divorced, Jeff Bezos shelled out on a megayacht. Last year, Bezos debuted the 127-meter vessel "Koru," a Māori symbol that signifies a fresh start — perhaps referring to that with his fiancée Lauren Sanchez.

Earlier this year, just before his 40th birthday, Mark Zuckerberg became the rumored owner of a yacht originally built for a Russian oligarch.

Superyachts have increasingly become ultrawealthy status symbols , providing highly secluded leisure and networking sites. They are — even more so than real estate — the single most expensive asset you can own.

"It's a bit of a celebration of your success in life, of wealth," Giovanna Vitelli, the vice president of the Azimut Benetti Group, the world's biggest producer of superyachts, told Business Insider.

While many tech billionaires have bought yachts, the richest of the rich, like Bezos, Zuckerberg, and Oracle cofounder Larry Ellison, have gone bigger. Their boats are virtual palaces at sea, decked with amenities like gyms, spas, pools, nightclubs, and movie theaters.

A look at these megayachts — broadly defined as over 70 meters long, mostly custom-built, and often costing nine figures — offers a glimpse into how the .00001% lives. It's something few others will ever get to experience. Even chartering a yacht of this size for a week typically costs upwards of $1 million.

One major thing that hundreds of millions of dollars can buy is privacy. There are likely yachts that have not been publicly recorded or registered — for example, Evan Spiegel is rumored to own the 94-meter megayacht Bliss. In an industry ruled by discretion , deciphering who owns what is typically an exercise in stringing together many clues.

Here are the largest yachts owned by tech billionaires, listed in order of length.

Jeff Bezos: Koru and Abeona

Amazon founder Bezos' $500 million megayacht, the 127-meter Koru, made a splash last year as it crisscrossed the Mediterranean in its first summer at sea, with its 75-meter support vessel Abeona in tow.

The sailing yacht, which is hard to miss thanks to its massive size and unique design, was host to Bezos and his fiancée Lauren Sanchez's famous friends . The couple held an engagement party on board, which reportedly drew guests including Bill Gates, Ari Emanuel, and Leonardo DiCaprio. Just a week later, they were seen on the streets of Dubrovnik, Croatia, with Orlando Bloom, Katy Perry, and Usher.

Even before its completion, Koru made headlines. It drew the ire of some Dutch people, who vowed to hurl eggs after it was announced a historic bridge in Rotterdam might be taken apart to allow the Oceanco boat through. Luckily, the shipyard made alternative plans, and an egg crisis was averted.

Among yacht world insiders , Koru is widely praised for its craftsmanship.

"I heard back in 2018 or something that somebody had ordered a classic sailing yacht," one superyacht expert told BI. "You order 125 meters, that's not really going to be classic. But it is. I think it's pretty cool."

Mark Zuckerberg: Launchpad

Earlier this year, the yacht world was rife with rumors that Zuckerberg purchased Launchpad, a 118-meter superyacht originally designed for a sanctioned Russian businessman.

The ship made her maiden voyage in March, going from Gibraltar to St. Maarten and mooring in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Little is known about her interior, but photos show a large swimming pool and helipad. Her price, too, has been kept under wraps but is said to be nine figures.

Eric Schmidt: Whisper

Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt made waves last year when he agreed to buy the Alfa Nero , the yacht of a sanctioned Russian oligarch, for $67 million in an auction conducted by Antigua and Barbuda. But he backed out of the deal following legal issues over its true owner. He quietly purchased Kismet instead. The 95-meter-long Lürssen-built boat was formerly owned by the Jacksonville Jaguar's billionaire owner Shahid Khan . Schmidt renamed her Whisper.

The ship, which can fit 12 guests and a crew of 28, features a master deck with a private jacuzzi, full-service spa, lap pool, movie theater, and outdoor fireplace.

While her final sale price was not public, she was listed for 149 million euros (about $161 million at current exchange rates), and at a charity auction in January, one week aboard the ship went for $2.4 million, according to industry outlet Yacht Charter Fleet.

Barry Diller: Eos

Barry Diller , the chairman of digital media company IAC, co-owns the megayacht Eos with his wife, fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg , who is immortalized by a figurehead sculpture by Anh Duong.

One of the largest private sailing yachts in the world, the three-masted Lürssen schooner measures 93 meters long. She took three years to be built before being delivered to Diller in 2009, and since then, little has come to light about her interior and features.

The power couple has hosted many celebrities on the Eos, which spends its summers crisscrossing the Mediterranean and New Year ' s Eve in St. Barts . Over the years, guests have included Oprah Winfrey, Emma Thompson, Anderson Cooper, and Bezos, leading some to believe she provided inspiration for his Koru.

Jim Clark: Athena

Netscape founder Jim Clark purchased the 90-meter sailing yacht Athena in 2004.

"I could easily have built a 50- or 60-meter motor yacht that would have had the same space as Athena, but I was never really interested in building a motor yacht," he told Boat International in 2016. "To my eye, she's one of the most gorgeous large sailing yachts, maybe the most gorgeous large sailing yacht in the world."

Athena has room for 10 guests and 21 crewmembers, and the only change Clark says he'd make in her design is adding more space for his kids.

"If I was forced to change something, I would convert the office on the lower deck into a children's room," he said.

The former Stanford professor tried to sell it at various points — listing it for $95 million in 2012 , $69 million in 2016, and $59 million in 2017 — but it has yet to change hands.

Larry Ellison: Musashi

Oracle founder Larry Ellison has owned several superyachts over the years, including the Katana, the Ronin, and the Rising Sun — which he sold to fellow billionaire David Geffen .

He purchased his current boat, Musashi, in 2011 for a reported $160 million from custom-yacht giant Feadship.

Named after a famous samurai warrior, the 88-meter-long yacht has both Japanese and Art Deco-inspired design elements. She also boasts amenities including an elevator, swimming pool, beauty salon, gym, and basketball court.

Ellison is known for his extravagant spending — private islands, jets, a tennis tournament — and yachting is among his favorite and most expensive hobbies. He took up racing them in the 1990s and financed the America's Cup-winning BMW Oracle Racing team .

Laurene Powell Jobs: Venus

Steve Jobs' wife, investor Laurene Powell Jobs, inherited a nearly finished 78-meter yacht named Venus when the Apple cofounder died in 2011.

After spending years vacationing on Ellison's yachts, Jobs wanted one for himself. He designed Venus with French starchitect and decorator Philippe Starck , and she was worth $130 million at completion.

"Venus comes from the philosophy of minimum," Starck said of her design. "The elegance of the minimum, approaching dematerialization."

Jobs and Starck began working together in 2007, the designer told Vanity Fair , and held monthly meetings over four years. Venus was delivered in 2012 to Jobs' specification: six identical cabins, a design to ensure spaces of absolute silence, and the most up-to-date technology.

"There will never again be a boat of that quality again. Because never again will two madmen come together to accomplish such a task," Starck told the magazine. "It was not a yacht that Steve and I were constructing, we were embarked on a philosophical action, implemented according to a quasi-religious process. We formed a single brain with four lobes."

Charles Simonyi: Norn

Early Microsoft employee Charles Simonyi has purchased two megayachts from the German shipyard Lürssen: the 90-meter Norn and 71-meter Skat.

Delivered in 2023, Norn is full of luxe features, including an outdoor cinema and a pool floor that lifts to become a light-up dancefloor. It shares a militaristic style with Skat , which Simonyi sold in 2021.

Skats's name is derived from the Danish word for treasure, and it had a listing price of 56.5 million euros and was launched in 2002.

"The yacht is to be home away from my home in Seattle, and its style should match the style of the house, adapted for the practicalities of the sea," Simonyi once said .

Sergey Brin: Dragonfly

Google cofounder Sergey Brin has built a flotilla of yachts, boats, and toys known as the "Fly Fleet."

Named after a once-secret Google product , the largest of Brin's armada is the sleek Dragonfly , which boasts a movie theater and a helipad. The 73-meter-long vessel was built by the Australian shipyard Silver Yachts and can fit up to 18 guests and 16 crew members, according to SuperYacht Times.

Also in his fleet is the superyacht Butterfly, a mere 38 meters long. Often moored in the Bay Area, her crewmembers spend their downtime kitesurfing and giving swimming lessons to local kids.

The rest of his marine lineup includes a smaller boat called Firefly, as well as Jet Skis, foilboards, dinghies, and kiteboards. It takes a team of 50 full-time employees to manage, steer, and maintain the entire operation.
