Gulet cruise from rhodes island.

Rhodes-South Dodecanese gulet cruise is a beautiful cruise operated with superior gulets in Greece. If you wish to discover the Greek islands, enjoy lots of sun, sea and relaxation, this is a perfect cruise for you. We will sail the island of Symi; famous for its many bays and the capital with its colorful houses. Secondly, will also visit the peaceful island of Tilos, one of the least touristy islands in Greece. And of course, not to be missed the island of Chalki with its characteristic marina and the bays of Rhodes of Kalithea.

South Dodecanese cabin gulet cruise is ideal for:

• Who does not like a lot of navigation and prefers to spend more time in the bays and sightseeing
• Comfy superior gulet
• Excellent flight connections between the major european airports and Rhodes island

Boarding and disembarkation

Boarding begins on Sundays after 4 pm at the New marina of Rhodes town in via Australias. On a first day your gulet remains in the port and starts sailing the next morning. It is therefore possible to board at any time after 4pm until late. * Please note that the first night is spent in Rhodes New Marina and the next morning, the captain and staff will arrange all necessary formalities and / or fuel. We will begin navigation between 10:00 and 13:00, depending on the provisions of the port authorities and / or the fuel office.

Disembarkation is the following Sunday after breakfast. Your gulet will return to the port of Rhodes on Saturday in the late morning by lunchtime.

Gulet and services on board

The first service on board is dinner on the day of boarding. Dinner on board is served until 10pm. Last service on board is breakfast on Sunday morning before disembarkation.

If your flight does not coincide with the boarding / disembarking times, we can store your luggage at the reception of the New Marina of Rhodes until boarding or after disembarkation.

Your gulet on this itinerary will be VGO GULET  with 8 cabins or an alternative boat of the same category. The cabins are double with private bathroom and shower. It is possible to request a cabin with double bed, twin beds or a triple cabin. Single use supplement is 60%.

Air conditioning is switched on for 6-8 hours a day (for example 08: 00-09: 00 – 13: 00-14: 00 – 18: 00-20: 00 – 22: 00-00: 00). Please note that the New Marina of Rhodes does not allow the use of generators due to noise pollution.

Optional excursions

During the gulet cruise from Rhodes sailing the islands of the Southern Dodecanese there are no optional organized excursions, except the day before disembarking will be possible to join the excursion to Lindos.

Suggested hotel in Rhodes town:

• Atlantis city in New Rhodes town 4* ( check offers and price here )
• Sveva hotel 3* ( check price and availability here )  

For those arriving the day before in Rhodes we recommend a hotel in the city of Rhodes which is 4 km from the Marina (€ 8 by taxi). In the Marina area there are few hotels, but undoubtedly the city of Rhodes is much more interesting to spend the evening before boarding.

The airport of Rhodes Diagoras (RHO) is located 20km from the New Marina of Rhodes and 25km from Rhodes city. The price of the private taxi that you will always find available on arrival is around €30 for up to 4 people. Or if travelling in group; the price of a mini van for groups is indicative€ 90 (advance booking required).

Rhodes is connected with the major European airports with direct flights throughout the summer. It is also possible to reach Rhodes via the Greek island of Kos or other islands of the Dodecanese.

Documents required for boarding:

At the time of booking you will be asked to send us the details for the passenger list (names, date of birth and number of the document you will take with you) and the deposit of 50% of the booking.

Captain reserves the right to make necessary changes to the itinerary Cabin charter gulet Rhodes-South Dodecanese gulet cruise due to weather conditions, force majeure or change in local legislation without prior notice.

Boarding after 16:00, dinner & overnight in Rhodes New Marina. If your arrival is ealier you can leave your luggage at at New Rhodes Marina reception till boarding time. Your arrival can be any time till late.

Between 10:00-13:00, after formalities and taking fuel, we cruise towards Symi, one of the Dodecanese islands and a real gem, one of the most beautiful little islands in all of Greece. We enjoy lots of swimming today in beautiful Nanou Bay! Afterwards, around 16:00, we cruise to Symi port.  Please have your camera ready for wonderful images of this small fairy-tale like Greek village. Your dinner will be served on board, but if you wish to dine ashore by yourselves, please inform the captain in advance.  All of the traverna’s on Symi are very tempting and the captain will understand your choice. Dinner and overnight.

Today, we leave from Symi port after breakfast between 09:00-10:00.  We will stop for lunch, swimming and relaxing in one of the beautiful bays around the island, at St George bay or one of the many other bays. After this, around 16:00, we will cruise towards Panormitis, located in the southern part of Symi. You can visit the Monastery of the Archangel Michael Panormitis.  This is a Greek Orthodox monastery built in the early 18 th century, and still inhabited by monks.  It is visited by people from all over the world, and many Greeks pay homage to St Michael of Panormitis each year.  (Loud) Music is not allowed here.  If the sea conditions are not optimal, we might have to cancel Panormitis and go to Pedi instead. Dinner and overnight

We cruise towards Tilos after breakfast today, between 09:00-10:00. Tilos is surrounded by high and rocky mountains, steep coasts, beaches with transparent waters and caves.  We will enjoy the day at Takrogiali Bay.  Late afternoon, around 16:00, we will enter Tilos harbour so that you can stretch your legs again and walk around the little town.  In the centre of the island, there is an abandoned village on the top called Mikro Chorio (reachable by taxi or bus).  You can also go there in the evening to have a drink in the bar. Dinner and overnight.

Today, we cruise to the beautiful island of Chalki north-west from Rhodes.  Depending on the sea conditions, we will start cruising before or after breakfast (between 06:00 and 10:00). Not much developed in tourism, this is a perfect destination for peace and privacy. Chalki is a lovely island famous for its crystal beaches.  We enjoy the day at Trakhia Bay or in one of the other beautiful bays here. In the late afternoon, around 16:00, we cruise to Nimporio which is the only village and main port of the island.  The beach promenade of Nimporio is lined up with cafeterias and taverns.  The church is worth visiting.  There is a mass between 19:30-20:00.  Dinner and overnight.

We have an early start towards Rhodes Island.   Breakfast will be on the way or upon arrival at Anthony Quinn Bay, depending on weather conditions. The beach here is known by the actor’s name since he bought this part of the island when filming “The Guns of Navarone”. Afterwards, we cruise to Kalithea where we will spend the rest of the day.  Dinner and overnight.

Today, between 09:00-10:00, we make our way back to the New Marina in Rhodes. Free day to visit one of the best preserved medieval towns in the world and a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. Dinner and overnight in Rhodes New Marina.

Enjoy an early delicious Mediterranean breakfast on board. Your cruise comes to an end.  Disembarkation in Rhodes New Marina aftter breakfast.

Sorry this email has taken so long to write but just wanted to thank you so very very much for all of your hard work and effort you went into booking for our family. We had an amazing time and totally loved the experience, such a beautiful beat, lovely captain, amazing food, great service, excellent cruise and a brilliant holiday. The day we came back to Rhodes marina we rented a car organised by the captain and went to Lindos and also enjoyed the day before and after boarding in Rhodos old town. The only thing which wasn’t as good as the other days was the last day, at sea, we didn’t go into the last named bay and just moored outside not a particularly nice hotel near the old roman baths, so that day wasn’t as nice, but the rest of the cruise was just brilliant.

We woold delicately recommend the cruise , the company, your services and your travel agency.

Thank you once again for all your hard hard work over a number of years in a difficult time but we really did appreciate it and have had the most wonderful time. We made memories the 3 children will never forget.

Gulet’s are authentic, yacht-like boats but with greater volume and much higher stability and they can usually be seen sailing around Mediterranean coastlines. They are classic and hand-built to traditional designs. Our private sailing holidays are the perfect way to see what the beautiful sites of Turkey, Greece Montenegro and Croatia have to offer. You can easily stop to view any cities or coastlines you cross. You may want to drop anchor and sunbathe or cool down by sailing in the breeze or having a dip in the crystal clear ocean.

Our own gulet Salamander in Turkey operates from Bodrum and sails from Turkey to Greece. This is our most traditional styled gulet and was built in 2005. When Salamander is full we use the beautiful Ya Selam. She is very similar in both size and style and the perfect option if Salamander is fully booked. On top of these we also have a selection of other options and locations including one in Croatia for the larger parties (up to 18) as well.

A gulet charter cruise is the unique wooden yacht hire and cruise possible along the South west coast of Turkey where a long indented coastline holding many serene and sheltered bays and coves offers moorings and anchorages for smaller length boats of up to 50m, for durations of from 3 nights (4 day cruise) up to 7 nights (8 day cruise) or more weeks.

When Is The Best Time To Go?

Boat charter cruises in Turkey are operated over a 6 months period between April and October.The best months to go on the "Blue Cruise" unique to the beautiful Mediterranean coast are July, August and September with their hot days and balmy warm evenings.August is the most popular and warmest holiday period, when it is advisable to have an early booking.

Cabin Descriptions

Double cabin means one large double bed in the room. Usually fitted bunk style to the side against one wall. This is the most frequently used cabin type. Double cabins are generally used in every cabin of economical or standard class charter gulets. All cabins have a private bathroom.The toilets will be either the hometype or electric type model.

During Your Gulet Cruise

No hard shoes on board, there will be a basket for shoes for the land visits. Turn off the lights in your cabin after use to conserve the battery.All soiled paper products, toilet paper and sanitary items go into a bin provided (emptied by the crew daily).After swimming, before you relax on the sun cushions, please use the shower on deck to wash the salt from your body.

During the summer period, you can visit the mythological Greek islands or rent a gulet / luxury yacht in the Adriatic sea as well.

How many days rental period could be minimum

In low season, Turkish boats can provide at least three-day tours. Weekly and longer gulet charter is preferable during peak season. In these Turkish gulets, there are cabins for accommodation, each with a WC and a shower. Air conditioning is becoming a standard feature in most boats produced in recent years. The features of each boat may be different. Feature differences; such as length, width, cabin arrangements, cabin shapes, wood quality and mechanical properties. For gulet hire, experienced crew are on board. The chef, sailors, and captain make up the crew.

It is depending on the boat of your choice and booking schedule. Popular blue voyage itineraries include Bodrum to Gocek or from Marmaris to Gulf of Hisaronu and Marmaris in Turkey. It’s a bit tiring due to the distance, but if you spread this itinerary over two weeks, then you will really enjoy all the breathtaking destinations in between.

What are the Gulet Rental Conditions in Turkey

We would like to share with you what you need to do to rent the right gulet for your group. First, sign your rental contract with your gulet agency. Afterwards, you must meet your payment terms according to the contract. Payment terms vary depending on the boats you rent.

You determine what is included in the rental price with your gulet agency during the agreement. You make the deposit payment according to the final agreement. Generally, deposit payments are made via bank transfer. After making this payment, the dates of your tour will be confirmed when requested. Sometimes banks may charge small transfer commissions, it is useful to ask the bank you work with about this. Close to your tour date, you can discuss route details, meal plans and various activities on your tour with your gulet agency.

You should discuss with your agency the conditions under which you should pay the remaining payment. After all the preparations are made and the payment transactions are completed, your gulet agency will prepare the rental gulet of your dreams for you on the day of the tour and allow you to start your dream holiday.
